This. Fags that complain about the Dpad have either never actually played the game or are finding ways to cope with their nostalgia bias.
Give it analogue and it's the definitive version. I'd still rather play it than the n64 original but it's crazy we still don't have dual stick mario 64 with real camera controls.
>no analog stick
Both don't hold a candle to Sunshine. if there's any 3D Mario that needs to be remade its that.
I've done it... I've finally done it... I've found a human being with absolutely no capacity for good taste!
play it on the 3ds
>That post and that reaction image
>Having the audacity to say someone else has no taste
Thanks for at least making it easy to completely dismiss your opinion.
would love to see this get a port, even a tie in port with 64 just so people can pick and choose, id be easy enough considering the bottom screen was seldum ever used.
It just needs an auto run option to be perfect. If you have the 3DS circle pad, there's no need for a run button since you can control how far you push the stick to walk or run.
water dino being given goggles and looking less cute honestly ruins it for me
>unlock luigi
>rest of the game i see how many stars i can get just by using his backflip
god that was broken.
>remaking a perfect game
why
The pallette looks washed out in the ds version, although the other characters are cool. Each has advantages
I loved both when I was younger and I can definitely say that the D-Pad was complete trash. Out of both games I think I prefer DS, but it would be objectively better with full 360 control.
And while I'm at it-
>Let all characters wall jump
>Let all characters use the wing cap
>Make Wario run faster and jump higher
>Give Wario even more unique interactions with objects and enemies
>Let me permanently switch to the character I want when entering a level
>Put the vs. mode online
>Make Waluigi a vs. mode specific character
>Make the game fully playable with multiplayer in mind as originally intended
>Let me play as the alternate Yoshi colors in single player
>Release an HD remake on switch
>If you 100% the game then you get to mess around as Waluigi in the single player mode
Some people say that Wario is the worst character, but those people never tried punching everything in sight. He has a ton of unique interactions.
7 levels were cut from the game, and extra content for a perfect game wouldn't hurt.
Right?
I assume the reason was so you could play it on a handheld. Plus it was a way to show off that the DS could handle "console level" games.
The game that invented soulless
That doesn't fucking give it analog controls you fucking dumbass stupid piece of shit cretin
>bowling ball with legs
>cool
>Time a kick with Wario right and he just punts an enemy away
I loved playing Wario more than I probably should've, honestly.
I loved doing that. Nothing was better than seeing the goombas turn to jello and watching them fly into the sun.
>He has a ton of unique interactions.
Not that many.
The base knockback of most standard enemies (Goombas, Bob-ombs, etc.) are doubled.
He can pick up objects and still run at full speed.
He can uproot signs off their post and carry it over his head with two arms at full speed.
He can... Punch/kick away the Tox Boxes, for some reason.
That's about it IIRC.
WHERE IS MY SUPER MARIO SUNSHINE PORT OR SEQUEL NINTENDO?
>Can punch the snowmen
>Can destroy all boulders
>Only has to ground pound on something once
>When an opponent is stunned in vs. he can pick them up and spin them around
I'm blanking, but I know there is a bit more
Mapping D-Pad controls to the Circle Pad isn't true analog.
>2019
>Nintendo still hasn't put it on the Switch
Literally why
Forgot to mention that Wario should swim faster. His swimming is so slow that you can realistically drown in water levels. There's no reason for it since there's not really a trade-off for it.
I can't say which one is better since I only played DS but I don't understand the dpad complaints. I remember controlling it fine.
but then again I remember controlling metroid prime hunters fine too and then not being able to get used to the controls when I replayed it recently, no touch screen for aiming only dpad, so the same might happen with this game
I'd even be fine with a remake using Odyssey's art style and lighting engine
No analog triggers
God I hate soulfags.
They could just make R the "less powerful spray while walking" button and ZR the "strong spray while still" button
Those minigames were fucking amazing
the aliasing makes it look like complete shit you blind retards
>bowling ball
>ball
He's a billboard
Where are they running to? Where are they going???
Royal Raceway, they all had a kart race scheduled for later that afternoon.
>having circle pad do d-pad inputs = analog control
nigger
L is real
Always thought they were grouping for a pose but ended up bumping on each other
I wish some asshole would list all of his interactions on the super mario wiki
it's close enough
It really pissed me off that this is the only use of Wario in a mainline Mario game to date. I mean, I should be glad it even happened, but not in the way they went about it. Why not add Wario to 2D or 3D? The shoulder tackle is just a sideways jump.
I know, right? I don't think there's a single place to look.
They could've made Wario played a little better in this game.
>MUH ANALOG
DS has analog via the thumb nub and it works great.
PUH
POH
WAAA-HA
No. That piece of perfection needs to be left alone.
>perfect
It's the most flawed 3D Mario, though
I really, REALLY wanted to like this game more than I did. I was super stoked on the DS when it first came out (and don't fucking lie, you thought the DS was the shit too when it was revealed), and paid the god damned Gamestop markup price to get one at launch with this game and a bunch of shit accessories I didn't want.
But God dammit, even as nostalgic for Mario 64 as I was, so much of the game just bugged me. I didn't like starting with Yoshi, it just felt wrong and he sucked as well. If they wanted to do multi characters then they should have done it like Mario 2 and let you switch between levels. Not to mention, locking powers and stars behind certain characters was asinine. Give them different strengths but let people play as who they want. People wanted to play as Luigi in Mario 64 since 1996 for fuck sakes. Just let them do that without all thos dumb, vague shit with unlocking them and their powers.
And as good as it looked, the game played like ass. The d pad doesn't make a good substitute for the analog stick, and the touch screen was even worse. And fuck off with that 3DS slide pad.
It isn't a bad game, it just keeps coming up short enough that you just were disappointed in your shiny new handheld and wanted to play the original. If it hadn't been for Final Fantasy Dawn of Souls, I'd have traded mine in a few months later for a PSP. Even though I did trade it in later for a GBA Micro (which I don't regret and still own).
>it works great.
Never ever.
It's literally not. The characters still move in only 8 directions.
For me getting to play as wario in mario 64 was mindblowing at the time
>t. spic zoomer
If you play it on the 3DS it has analog
holy fuck the little stones that push out of the wall lost their eyes, If this isnt SOUL vs SOULLESS idk what is
I recently beat a hack (actually the ONLY complete hack) of this called Another Super Mario 3D and it was okay. It's not another Star Road but still a breath of fresh air.
This is one of the greatest videogame remakes ever made and I'm not sure how it even happened since it was originally a multiplayer tech demo for the DS.
>INB4 broken Luigi
What the hell is even that Boxart? Everyone is just running down the empty field with a random star in front of the castle and a deserted pipe with a Power up box. Why are they out here if the Peach, Bowser and the Stars are inside? Why are they're running? Why is Luigi about to trip like a clumsy faggot?
>2019
>no analog triggers
imagine making one of the best vidya controllers in the industry and instead of building off of it and making it better, your next step is this abortion
None of you know anything of the potential of 64's platforming and it shows because you were all born in '98 at the earliest and only ever played the game at glacial speed, evidenced by the fact that you grew up playing a 3D platformer in the back of your mom's minivan with a fucking d-pad and run button.
