halo is getting ported to pc while quake is as dead as ever.

CE's maps were generally pretty good as far as arena designs go, but they'd be too small for Quake.

Quake enemies are pretty much walk towards player, if at close range do melee attack, otherwise occasionally shoot.

You clearly have not played any Halo game if you think that, user. Enemies make smart use of cover, on higher difficulties certain enemy types attempt to flank you, will attempt to run away from explosives, etc.

And then in reach on high difficulties elites will do crazy shit like try to bait you out of your cover, among other things

PC version will expose Halo. It was fine on a controller, it suited the slower pace. But it will feel like a crawl with kb+m.

it's funny, I've never played halo in my life, but I've always felt some kind of instinctive repulsion towards this series.

The reason why you carry multiple weapons at once is to manage ammo , which leads to ammo placement in level progression and to combine it with enemy variety
Even Q3A fags admit only using a few weapons in games, similar to Meleefags
There's more than consoles as to why 2 weapons limit exists

Quality > quantity only works when you actually have quality, the Bungie Halo games managed to at least be decent but 343 Halo is horrible
"Complex enemy behaviors" mean nothing when the game is less fun overall, CE or 2 on Legendary may as well have a one weapon limit because you're gonna be taking a plasma pistol as your secondary for shield breaking most of the time

The shotgun sucks, but every other weapon has a purpose and sees at least some sort of use. Even just shaft, rocket, and rail is more variety than what you see in the typical Halo game.

all true, halo's strengths are the "large scale" dynamic battles scenes, everything else is really slow floaty and stodgy which works perfectly for consoles but it's not comparable to the fps action games that came before it
