Epic is directly funding and encouraging piracy, so yeah it's pretty good so far.

>refuses to host indie devs
>only pays already high profile publishers who already have a ton of money
I'm not falling for your lies, le epic chink man.

How do you pirate a multiplayer online game? Seriously curious

You don't. Only a mouth breather would want to play games with other autismos

what multiplayer online only game is worth using epic for, retard

Many MP games just use basic Steamworks, which has been cracked for like a decade.

>while I get less features
not even fucking cloud saves. lul

Attached: 67453.jpg (960x656, 45K)

So you cant? Someone said they faked a LAN for borderlands 2. Kinda hilarious to see “fans” of borderlands say they are going to pirate when only redeeming quality is doing it with friends.

Someone post the Tiananmen Square, human rights, etc. copypasta

You can. You gotta jump through some hoops though.

Lol someone do it. It would be so sweet!

God fuck off with the free launcher wars.

epic is actually buying the games so we don't have to, I'd say they are pretty based

I am not going anywhere enlighten me. I have asked 10 times.

name a game worth using the epic launcher I said
borderlands has been meme trash since 2, leddit the shooter

Give one example how egs is better for consumers

It's not launcher wars, idiot.
The Chinese must be stopped.

Based.

Attached: the overman.png (834x998, 146K)

First off the most popular game currently.

Second off, Streams “features” dont effect me. I cant tell the difference.

>pay 60 dollars to "rent" a game while the launcher mines your computer for info

lmao paypigs

Attached: 1555401985159.jpg (323x423, 19K)

Yeah because you dont buy any chinese products currently. Fuck off, your shitgame library is safe

not that guy but when me and my buddy wanted to play pirated saints row we used hanmachi he set it up tho so im clueless how that shit works i dont pirate games regularly

it's really no different than gog or origin
steam is still the most indie friendly platform where any fucker can pay a one time fee to have their shit game on the biggest pc platform on the planet
epic is only relevant right now because of fortnite and that's all it will ever be known for

>epic buys the games
>devs stop trying because epic will just buy anyway to spite steam
>consumers suffer because they end up with garbage games

>Hamachi
>ICCUP

>does nothing for consumer outside of hurting them
>does everything for greedy devs and China

Gee. I wonder which of the latter made this thread.

Team Meat, 2D BOY and that guy that created RCR.

Shit features, DRM, exclusivity (not even GFWL did this), meme share that actually hurts smaller stores.

I am supposed to pay for that to avoid a free launcher? With no guarantee it will work on launch? Sorry not sold. Going to buy the most expensive version later.

Here's my counter argument: your mom lol.

Attached: 1555782449244.jpg (1080x1073, 57K)

In all fairness they did make fortnite cross platform everything.

Pay for what? Both things I listed are free

Why does it say $50 year for The first one?

>Hamachi is free for up to 5 computers in your network. If you run Hamachi as a service in unattended mode, you can choose from our subscription packages below.
And if you really need more than 5, just set up OpenVpn instead. You can't be a brainlet though. If you are, ask your big bro who uses Linux for help.

Depends on if the game allows for LAN play or not, if it does it's simple and shit you just load up a virtual LAN program like tuungle or himachi and play instantly, if not then you gotta wait and see if someone managed to crack it with online play (in which case you pretty much do the exact same thing.)

If the game requires forced online to play co-op though you're shit out of luck, since they'll only allow you to play if you're connected to their servers.

Have epic given a single reason why it's good for consumers outside devs get more money?

So developers get 20% more cut from their games on epic right, but why didnt epic just give them 10% more cut and remove 10% of the games price, that way epic games would be giving more money to the developers and all their games would be 10% cheaper than on steam

give it time, i'm sure they're working on features like cloud support even though it should have been at fucking launch

Go away ching Chong no one likes you.

So, let's get this straight.
The advantages of epic games launcher:
>more money for developers
>free games every once in a while
>buys the shit out of exclusives
only one benefit is passed onto the consumer.
Meanwhile, Steam takes a bigger cut of the dev paycheck, but also has
>social media features and profiles
>very common sales and bundles
>trading cards
>huge selection with lots of filters to easily view what you want
>community forums
>community reviews
>Linux support
>shopping cart
>wishlist
>Mac support
>screenshot hosting
>in-client streaming and game clip hosting
>steam family sharing
>steam link/ big picture mode
>significant VR hosting
>achievements/badges
>profile inventories and trading
> live pages where debs can post news and patch notes
Epic Store is genuinely just a piece of shit with no redeeming qualities

>exclusives
>advantage

Does it have fan guides? Community hubs? Trading? Integrated web browser? Integrated music player? Give devs web support for thwir multiplayer? Regional pricing? Different payment methods? Weekly sales?
If it does then i might make an account.

Developers need a very large incentive to commit to the lower sales figures that the Epic store has and will likely retain in the future.
Being exclusive only makes sense if you're already using Unreal and you take enough from each game sale so that you can almost make up the difference in total profits, or if Epic pays you an undisclosed amount up front.

If you think fucking trading cards is worth to mention about pros of steam you have the mindset of a damaged housewife

what's wrong with it?

Jokes on you chinsectoid, I always play borderlands alone

Way to miss the point retard.

it is genuinely harmful to consumers
not only do they take away consumer choice and remove features for consumers, they steal data from their customers and use it against them

What was the point? The only features there worth mentioning is linux/mac support and sales

Shopping carts, wishlists and a bunch of other great stuff like forums and reviews btfo, power to the publishers.

Library sharing, DLC support, mod support, beta branches, and trading items are all things that Epic doesn't offer, which are used in many games.
The Steam UI is also much more developed.

Attached: bsrover.jpg (600x500, 29K)

More money to devs is technically true since most of the time publishers get the payout.

i bought several full priced games selling cards, emoticons and wallpapers
just sell everything nigga, its definitely not a bad feature by any means

Um sweety that doesn't go to devs, they have already been paid.

Epic is making me remember why I fell in love with PC gaming in the first place. Fuck Steam, fuck Epic, fuck Origin, fuck GOG, fuck UPlay, fuck Bethesda Launcher, fuck Bnet and fuck you OP for being a nigger.

How does the Epic store benefit me as a consumer?

Less loose change in your pockets.
Supporting China.

Games are cheaper in steam and it has 10x times the features, your move epic shill.

Workshop does more harm than good, it lets the developer use it instead of creating their own mod creator, this means other versions of game will not have mods unless that retailer also has a feature similar to workshop, even then no mod creator is gonna be updating it for bunch of different retailers

>market control since 2004

Just because that's when steam was made, doesn't mean they immediately held the market by the balls. It's taken steam far longer to do that.

typical retarded poster. steam would bury epic tomorrow if they gave devs a fair cut, but as long as they keep being greedy the entire industry is turning against them

>but as long as they keep being greedy the entire industry is turning against them
The industry can twist and turn all it likes, it's not going to achieve anything without the consumer on its side. As for your "muh 30%, stop being greedy!" cuck shit. 12% changes nothing for you faggot, they will still try and find new ways to charge you more money for less work.

Attached: Totally not greedy developers.png (623x1150, 327K)

This. Workshop was an unnecessary mistake.

>would bury epic tomorrow if they gave devs a fair cut, but as long as they keep being greedy the entire industry is turning against them

They don't have to and most likely never will.

what makes you think that Epic is on the same level as Steam? What mental delusion did you go through in your life tell me please.
Your audience are underage kids. Your only exclusive game is Fortnite in early access alpha. Who are you?
You bribe and buy out exclusivity. Devs don't come to you with open hands because of the cut. You buy them. And once the period is over they sell on Steam, again.
Your store lacks all services that Steam has to offer. Steam with over 150mil+ users.
I really don't understand what makes you Epic shills think for a second that you even remotely close to Steam in comparison. Your store is literally a worthless pile of chinese backed hot shit.

lots of new releases are going to the epic store and sales are fine.. so your both wrong and retarded

There has never been any exclusivity deal with steam, are you retard?
Accurate my balls

>Sales are fine
Metro Exodus sold less than 250,000 copies on PC.

fuck off my board you fucking prick

Sales for games exclusive to epic were not released. Epid claimed they sold better but did not show any numbers, and even if they did sell better than the games previous titles who's to the reason they sold better was because it was on the epic store?

lol

>it lets the developer use it instead of creating their own mod creator
Why do you fucking retards spout out stupid shit like this?
Do you think the workshop is used to actually create mods?
Are you retarded?

shut the fuck up and go back to /r/resetera, fucking cringe discord tranny kike

>and sales are fine
>according to Epic
Heard those games are on qbittorent too.

>I can only communicate in buzzwords

Name one thing it does for me as the consumer

My roommate and I pirated and played Borderlands 2 together over tunngle back in like '12 or something. Beat the game, no DLC or anything. It was okay. Writing sucked and gun scaling got fucking bad towards the end. Went up almost exponentially.

This is the only argument that matters.

As the consumer, I don't give a single shit about the drama in the game industry. I only care about results, and as it stands Steam simply has more features, better sales, and key resalers. I'm going to buy games wherever I can get them cheap and on the platform that is most convenient for me to use.

>prove
>isn't
Prove that you aren't a dick sucking faggot.

why do americans defend corporations so much? fuck you retards STEAM IS NOT YOUR FRIEND

Take a look at Opus Magnum, It had a feature that let you create maps and upload them via the steam workshop, instead Zachtronics should have done it within the game, because now every other version that isn't steam is inferior

Neither is Epic/Tencent.
Actually, those guys will fuck you in the ass harder than Steam ever will.

Can someone post the source on the epic games store being spyware? I can't find it on google

why do people defend valve like its still 2009? steam hasn't been consumer friendly for a while now

>prove a negative
Prove that I'm not the greatest being in existence.

They are less bad than epic therefore they are very good

If I were to choose between getting blood, brain, lung and prostate cancer or getting herpes I would definitely choose herpes

Steam vs the Epic store to me is like comparing coffee joints.

The steam coffee joint is the one I've been going to every morning and they sell me a quality cup of coffee for $1.50. Then this new Epic Coffee Store opens up next door a few weeks ago and I see advertising in their window that says they sell a cup of coffee for the same $1.50, but 50c of each cup I buy there will be given to some nice charity. Its nice and all, but after trying it the coffee just tastes like shit compared to steam coffee, so as a consumer I'm not paying the same price for an inferior product even if they do some nicer things behind the scenes for people that aren't the consumer unless the quality is equal.

The free games are the only draw right now for the consumer. And I've been tracking them for over a month now and there's yet to be a single game offered that I actually want to download the epic launcher and play for free. They really need to bring the consumer experience up, pandering just to devs isn't making people switch stores.

Lesser evil
Epic is the great evil currently

that's admitting the threat. steam's pride wont allow it.

>food analology

Attached: 1504539178684.jpg (253x238, 15K)

I still don't understand why this is a issue, this isn't console exclusivity where you have to buy another 300-400 dollar console to potentially just play one game. With PC "exclusivity" you just have to buy it from a different website and boom that's it

So it doesn't do anything for me as the consumer. Got it.

>regular sales that lets me buy games I want to play at a significant discount
>platform that lets me see consumer reviews and feedback on games I'm skeptical of
even if they haven't been consumer friendly for a while, they are still a hell of a lot more consumer friendly than epic is

What's wrong with food anologies? Not trolling just genuinely curious

They're cliched.

What's so good about steam reviews? Do you really read steam reviews and use that as a judgement of how good a game is it? Isn't it much better to do research online on multiple forums to get a good idea if the game is worth your time or not

the coffees are the same but sold in different stores

>game creator lets you make custom maps and upload them to the workshop
Then it's a distributor.
>Zachtronics should have done it within the game, because now every other version that isn't steam is inferior
That's the dev's fault. Bethesda, TaleWorlds, and even the retards that made no man's sky had no trouble implementing a 3rd party distribution solution while also using the workshop.
Stop posting.

Its just an extra layer of screening that is very convenient. A quick glance at the review section tells me instantly if a game is even worth taking the time to research or if its dog shit to hard pass on. If games journalism gives a game an 8/10 I'm skeptical of it being an 8/10. If 5000+ people on steam give a game a very positive rating, there's a good chance its a pretty decent game. If thousands of people on steam average a negative review, its safe to say you can avoid that like the plague.

Also really useful for ports of games I know I like or would play to identify if they run like ass or are bug infested.

>Why are there no games on PC anymore?

>coffee is food

>epic store shill
>i haven't paid for a game since 2003, neither has anyone else.
>mfw it was valve orange box for $20
only sperglord children pay for video games over the internet with each other, LAN parties are real house parties and if your games dont support LAN then they are not multiplayer games.
>inb4 diapers most commonly sold with mmo airtime cards
the sad thing is epic shills deciding that attacking valve will somehow trick me into buying a video game i dont like from a kike publisher

Attached: 1555898879462-v.jpg (952x1200, 139K)

You have the mindset of a damaged housewife that completely misses the point, creating workshop clone could be done but the mod creator is who decides where the mod goes, he should not burdened to update every workshop

because gamergate exposed video games as a form of population engineering

Attached: 1556275669803-b.jpg (530x298, 17K)

This is all you can just do online, also reviews can be exploited, there are bunch of shitty chinese games that are overwhelmingly positive because of being paid

What is this revisionist history? Lower prices was a huge draw when steam was forming. You could buy an entire series package for like $20, when at retail it would have cost you full price for each game.

>3rd party website where you drag and drop a mod into a folder
>update every workshop
Are you a console nigger? Because your ignorance screams console nigger.

Like I said its a quick glance and I can go from there. If I look at the screenshots/footage of a game and it looks like chinese shovelware but gets amazing review feedback I can probably make a deduction or at least see enough to dig deeper.

There is a good reason any decent online retailer has user product ratings in plain sight.

>Caring about multiplayer.

It's actually worse for us, the lower take means they can't afford to do sales.

Valve eating the manufacturing cost on cards so that way people can add cash to their system without credit cards and without costing more is already more of an advantage needed over epic

epic is a virgin and steam is the experenced girl
the virgin has never had a dick in her but will be bad
whereas the love making with the more experiecned girl will feel alot better and is more healthier since youre not obsessing if shes taken a dick before because you already know she has
i will eat lucky charms but that doesnt mean i dont like cereal

>pussy analogy
>also a food analogy

>my first encounter with steam was when portal 2 was released and if you bought the ps3 version you got the steam version free
>literally returned my ps3 game the next day for a refund and became a PC gamer mainly after that
>my first experience with epic games was the annoying fortshit craze taking over the gaming community and them buying exclusive rights to games to force me onto their platform
Oh yeah totally great indeed.

Attached: bug spray.png (1544x2970, 1.35M)

What games has valve paid exclusivity for that wasn't literally their own game?

Closest is Gabe paying VR devs to at least release on steam with the reasoning being he wants to push VR and VR devs could use the money.

Steam is doing a great job at bringing all the VR together without trying to force it as a necessity though. I have a WMR headset and can easily use whatever platform I want but steam's support really makes a world of difference for VR. Something I don't see epicgames doing for any thing ever at all.
