Other than framerate drops they've done a great job patching the game so far. If you try version 1.0 and version 1.07 there's a huge different right there.

It would've been getting 8 or 9 out of 10s if it came out a few years ago, but it feels a bit like old news now.

I'd say it's a pretty standard 7/10 game with some ups and downs, and not a lot of unique stand-out mechanics.

It certainly didn't deserve to get raked over the coals with the 5/10 "OMG A BIKER WEDDING WASN'T 100% CLASSY AND THE WOMAN IMPLIED THEY HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE!" complaints it did seem to get.

Buggy as fuck, every character is an asshole for no reason, and the story is so godawful boring that I've starting skipping every cutscene and hating the 'cutscenes' I can skip like when Deacon has a flashback to him and his girl riding on his bike.

Other than that, it's like Far Cry 3 but you have to stop and refuel your bike every 5 minutes, constantly have to go into camp to restock on ammo after every fucking encounter, and spend time gathering trash to craft things instead of playing because the devs are too big of assholes to offer things like molotovs for sale or crafting materials in general.

Better than shit like Assassin's Creed, still just bland overall. Focuses W A Y too much on human combat in the story missions until pretty much the very end with only a couple of horde missions. Runs like complete anus on a base PS4.

The physics are pretty high tier. You can drift, but your can't pop a wheelie. I think that is the only flaw about bike riding.

It's a solid game despite what people say. I haven't enjoyed a single player game since Spider-Man. People are saying it's repetitive, but I don't see it; it's nowhere near Far Cry or Assassin's Creed repetitive, but they have higher scores for some reason. There are a couple kino moments and the story is actually captivating.
I do have some frame rate issues, but nothing bad. Most of the bugs have been patched. I do feel like the controls are clunky, but there are unlockable skills that improve your aim and shit.
People say that it's repetitive and the quests are a chore, but they really aren't. I'm having fun exploring different areas and fighting the zombies in different ways.
I'd say it's an 8.5/10 game. If you disagree then you're obviously a man hating SJW that's never been in a gang. I mean a club.

It's getting patches every few days. The only problem I've run into is the environment not loading correctly when riding the bike from one side of the map to the other.

The reviews singling out the game for having a white protagonist are stupid, but I've only seen that mentioned in maybe two reviews. You can just look up “Days Gone bugs” on YouTube and find several videos. Yes, every game has bugs, but not every game needs patches released almost every day since its release. If money is tight, if I were you I'd wait a month at least or even 2. Judging from past Sony behavior, their first party titles always get a deep discount pretty quickly, and since this may not sell like God of War, it may even come down quicker than you'd expect. If money's no issue, and you own a PS4, then yeah, absolutely. Exclusives are always fun to try.
