Yea Forums's only measurements of a new game's worth is in how many people are playing it RIGHT NOW on Steam or in how many views it has on Twitch. If either of those numbers go down after a long enough time, or something else "tops" it at any time, it's decided that the game is a failure and thus not worth playing. This is how Yea Forums justifies itself never actually playing games and just shitposting about them all day.

But Dark Souls isn't a single player game.

I know for a fact that people have been dropping the game since Capcom announced development was finished only 2 months after the game was released. People had a lot of expectations for the game post release and Capcom took a huge shit on all of them, didn't even get Vergil DLC when even DmC gave their Vergil a whole expansion. So naturally people dropped it and are now pissed.

I don't get the point of people shitting on DMC. Like I get that many people have no interest in it or whatever, but for people who like those games it gave everyone exactly what they wanted and was universally praised. Posting shit steam numbers isn't going to magically change anyone's opinion of the game.

Of course the game is not going to be as replayable as something like a fucking dark souls. It's a short game that most people will put down after a couple of weeks max, it wasn't made to be anything other than that. All it was made for is being the best of its genre and it succeeded.

I was admittedly kinda disappointed but it is still not a bad game and having it even better than as it is now won't change the number of people playing it (unless they included the online multiplayer blloody palace at least)

Wow, it's still that popular? I'm guessing no more than a few dozen actively invade though, I played it 2 years ago on PC and anything but Aldritch covenant took 20+ minutes to find anyone and that one is just a boring slugfest in one arena.

Huh, guess the dlc does really add a lot of shit compared to other games, I'm still on my first playthrough at almost 100 hours and just started blood and wine, only stopped cause of DMC5 and other stuff.

it's a pretty big game, with or without DLC. it's still popular, the show is out soon (though I don't think a lot of people give a shit about it now) and I figure that the choices might give it a little bit of replay value honestly it wasn't worth much a second playthrough, Triss romance is shit. I just restarted it directly at the dlcs for my 3rd playthrough, it was muhc more fun

RE4 has excellent pacing, yes

Their half assed implementation of co-op ended up being a negative for me, since it's like they offered me a delicious morsel of something, and then when I was hooked they just stopped giving it out. Just don't fucking include co-op at all if this weak shit is all you were going to offer. Great game still, but I completed SoS, and I just don't feel the desire to do a higher difficulty or go through all of BP because I keep thinking of how much better this would be if they got their heads out of their asses and gave a true co-op experience.

Online BP will come via DLC or SE release

Mercs alone made my RE6 purchase worth it. Game was not survival horror or scary in the slightest, but man Mercenaries was a really enjoyable team wave mode.
