>Anthem, believe it or not, is meant to have a 10 year life cycle of post-launch content. But, in light of the game's systemic problems, BioWare's lack of communication, and a dwindling player base, that ambitious post-launch schedule is looking less and less likely, especially in light of recent news about the game's shifting development team.
>In recent weeks, three key members of Anthem's lead development team have departed from work on the project, including Executive Producer Mark Darrah, Lead Producer Michael Gamble, and Lead Director Jonathan Warner, with only the latter intending to return to the game following a personal sabbatical.
>According to a recent tweet from Gamble, the reason for this behind the scenes reshuffle seems to be Dragon Age shaped, as BioWare places the majority of its focus on getting Dragon Age 4 our of the door, following several reported reboots of the RPG sequel.
because bioware is a good company they made KOTOR remember KOTOR from 15 billion years ago what a great game KOTOR was so good thats why bioware is a good company because KOTOR was so good
Xavier Diaz
There's a difference between not caring about a topic and getting annoyed at repeated pointless discussion about that topic Bioware is a shit company and should just have its shit products ignored
Jose Gray
This thread is about DA4 you fuck off faggot
Ayden Wood
you care enough to post
Carter Harris
based
Lucas Clark
Four dragon age games and none of them have been good besides the first
This. EA has killed studios for less fuck ups. Idk how Bioware gets away with it
Kayden Rivera
kek no it doesn't
Logan Powell
I CANT BELIEVE MASS EFFECT DIED FOR FUCKING ANTHEM AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. FUCK BW I KNOW THEYRE GONNA FUCK UP DRAGON AGE SOMEHOW TOO AAAAAAAAAA IT ISNT FAIRRRRR
Literally the only thing to look forward to regarding Dragon Age 4 is seeing if it turns out to be an even bigger train wreck than Anthem, because is sure as fuck isn't going to be good.
Liam Sanders
and now they're parading the dead corpse weekend at burnie's style
>The fourth main entry in the series, Dragon Age 4, is being developed as of 2019. Development of this game, code-named "Joplin", began in 2015. It was originally intended to be a smaller, more narrative-focused game set in the Tevinter Imperium region of the game's world.[2] Problems with the development of Bioware's other games Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem led to repeated interruptions as "Joplin" staff was shifted to these games. In October 2018, Bioware and its parent company EA cancelled "Joplin" altogether, reportedly because it did not provide for a "live service" component providing ongoing monetization opportunities, as was expected by EA.[2] Development of Dragon Age 4 was restarted under the code-name "Morrison", this time with a live-service component and based on Anthem's code.[2]
>Cancelled development because they couldn't monetize it.
Every fucking red flag, from the start.
Connor Cruz
>based on Anthem's code oh fuck it's gonna be so terrible
Owen Reyes
I'd play another sloppy B-movie piece of shit like DA2. Bioware's later failures are just boring.
Austin Harris
The lead writer is a humongous faggot who is going to put it on full display in this game. So, no.
Sebastian Flores
Can they go back to Joplin
Aaron Scott
>Cancelled development because they couldn't monetize it. video games are fucking dead this is the worst goddamn timeline!
Nolan Murphy
>it did not provide for a "live service" component providing ongoing monetization opportunities, as was expected by EA. I will never not hate modern EA and modern video game practices.
Caleb Kelly
Is anybody surprised? It's a Bioware game, it was fated to be shit before it was even thought of.
Michael Brooks
the only thing im expecting is this will be the final nail in the coffin for bioware
Juan Parker
why do people pretend like they were all good tho?
Colton Lee
no it fucking doesn't they have shit out crap games for like 8 fucking years now
Henry Collins
>code-named "Joplin"
Code named Anthem 'Dylan" after Bob Dylan, code named DA4 "Joplin" after Janice Joplin and then "Morrison" when they decided to just paste DA4 over Anthem's framework.
It's like being able to see the strings that bind reality and pinpointing exactly where they begin to fray.
Cooper Parker
Good. DA was never good and this will lead Bioware to an earlier death. I hope they have lootboxes too
Joseph Perez
As someone that fell for the Anthem meme, I will never buy another Bioware game again.
Aaron Moore
its ok there are 10 other suckers that will buy them in your place
Cameron Morgan
It's videogames so it's allowed here, Obsidrone cuck.
Dylan Carter
should have stopped as early as DA2 since ME2 was a pretty good indication of where they were headed
Bentley Kelly
Serious question, how could you fall for it? There were so many red flags. What was your thought process when you ignored them all and fed EA $60?
Jose Jones
It seems EA just doesn't have faith anymore in singleplayer titles to bring in the needed dosh to cover costs so they are implementing monetization opportunities in every title to squeeze every franchise of every last cent. Kinda sad desu
Julian Baker
Dragon Age has been utter shit since the beginning.
Jackson Thompson
I'm surprised they haven't killed """Bioware""" already
Jackson Edwards
EA's or of literally any other major publisher customer are not people who buy their games, but a shareholders. Consumers are just a cattle to be sheared with yearly sportsball simulators and söy-nerd culture franchises like ones Bioware produces, to bring profit to actual client.
Kayden Morgan
>biggest fan of Bioware for years >mfw their agonizing death stretched over almost 6 years brings me nothing but sick, twisted satisfaction Is this what it's like to be a jilted lover? Is this what happens when love goes wrong?
>Dragon Age 4 Please leave my perfect wife Morrigan alone and just leave her out of it thx
William Williams
People simply wouldn't believe how much profit EA draws from FIFA and Madden, games they sell literally every year. "Proper" games are a small slice of the bigger, sportsball pie.
Isn't there a potential legal case here for not delivering the advertised product? It's like buying 10 years of netflix and they decide not enough people bought it so they're shutting down in a year.
Brandon Allen
Karma for ruining Mass Effect 3, you cunts. Still mad.
Jacob King
This is the power of the simple dude bro. Unthinking and tough beyond all reason, they work hard, play hard and stuff your wallets hard.
Anthem did deliver though. It's not like it was cancelled and people's pre-orders weren't refunded, the game literally came out.
Hell, the advertised product at E3 satisfied the EA executive when, at one point, the game didn't even have flying and the only put it in because he wanted it in.
If you're referring to the advertisement of the future of the game by example of their roadmap, then you might have a case. However, with their playerbase dwindling, there's probably not even enough people to give a shit enough to file a class-action lawsuit.
Bioware actually wants to fucking die, they hoped DA:I would fail so they would not be forced to work like they do but it was a success so it went on. If EA still hasn't learned then DA4 will not only be bad as in usual bad, they will probably fuck it up even more on purpose lmao
Levi Johnson
Bioware keeps its killing spree Cant no one stop them?
Justin Foster
how the fuck stills alive this shit?
Oliver Peterson
Its exactly another Andromeda situation. Lead devs and writers got kicked out, game was rebooted several times and would end into an unfinished abomination with autism level writing. Just like every other recent Bioware game
Liam Butler
When EA releases a singleplayer game once in a blue moon like the Star Wars one, they go on twitter and say how awesome they are for making a singleplayer game without an ingame store as if that is an actual selling point instead of something that should be a given. That is how far gone they are
