Trails works better on small scales. The strength of this series is world building, fleshed out NPCs, and comfy music/atmosphere (the soundtracks got progressively worse after CS1). You can finish Cold Steel 2 in less than 30 hours if you really only rush the story, but it's part of the game series to play the side quests and discover more stuff, as everything in the games are connected. Some characters have backstories in earlier games of the series and there are sometimes even side characters re-appearing, in newer games, which feels very refreshing when you played their side quest in older titles and stuff.
To get the best experience, 80 hours sounds like a fine deal for the 1st game. The second game is similiar, but a little faster if my memories aren't lying to me.

It's still a game that bothers to show you day-to-day scenes, world building etc. Sky was also kinda of anime-esque, this one may be a bit more, or modern anime, but it's still a top-notch game.
