You can only rehash the same self-depreciating (Sonic games are terrible, funny reactions) for so long before people get bored. Game Grumps ironically bought Sonic some grace since the meme of Sonic being terrible would draw in the zoomers who watched Grumps. But Game Grumps are fading, and kids are beginning to get bored of Sonic, even if it's a meme, why waste your money on a game that is terrible? The older fans have always hated this meme that Sonic PR has indulged in but most would agree that as long as it kept Sonic alive long enough to make a comeback, it would be a necessary evil. However, it back-fired because after Mania, Sega dropped the ball yet again but now, there isn't really a safety net in the zoomers.
