Isabelle is fine. She perfectly symbolizes that cutesy, sterile, overly safe, overly nice, "for girls" feeling of nuAnimal Crossing. She belongs in Smash as the representation of what the series is now.
Villager is neutral. He/she represents all eras of AC.
Now they need to add Tom Nook. Not cucked sweatervest Tom Nook, but classic Tom Nook. This greedy, shifty man can be the symbol of Animals Crossing's bygone personality, originality, and creativity that made the series feel like it was "for boys" too.

Depends. They can keep the girly boring stuff AND the entertaining, quirky stuff with personality. What kind of game you get should be dictated by player choice. You can delve into Sable's plot and all NPCs have some kind of part of it, like Wild World, or you can ignore her. Maybe Tom Nook will get depressed, have a heart-to-heart with you. He's feeling like his change in career might not be as exciting and fun as running the store was. You can convince him to stay where he is in real estate, or throw away his sweatervest and become a shrewd businessman again. Make Isabelle a default Peppy villager and have to option to hire her as your secretary, but you could also hire someone like Bob or Oxford.

If we get another one honestly it's probably an echo added for ease like Chrom was. The reason there are so many FE characters is because they're easy to add. It's easier just to think of some of them like costumes with minor differences. Then you only have 4.

I will never understand why people were so against/so surprised about Isabelle being added. Regardless of your opinion on her or Animal Crossing in general, she's one of the most popular characters Nintendo has created in the past decade, almost. Isabelle and Inklings being added were a no brainer.

I can’t say I’m all that hyper about it. Like you said, anyone else is icing on the cake. Third-parties get treated with a lot of love in this series, so I’ll probably be happy with whoever and whatever the coming reveals wind-up being. If one of the DLC spots happen to be a first-party “advertisement slot” like Kamui was in SSB4, then all I really hope is that they advertise a new game that would truly benefit from having a fighter and content in SSBU.

the Rocket is much better than the fishing rod. Hell Isabelle's specials are straight downgrades compared to Villager's, who feels like a much more thought out moveset.

It makes no difference to me because the last 4 will be shit that will either be meh at best and series ruining at worst, there is nothing they can announce that would make me excited for this series anymore

They should have a least made her an echo considering more than half of her moveset is taken from the villager. What a fucking waste of a character spot. Shantae would have been a better choice for a new female character.

the fishing rod is a good move but villagers moveset was designed with the rocket, getting rid of that move alone makes isabelle awful, and the fishing rod isn't a good substitute to cover up what the rocket helped with the villager moveset

I mean that the fishing rod makes much more sense as a part of Villager's and he should have had the fishing rod incorporated into his moveset in some way from the beginning, not necessarily in the same way as in Isabelle's moveset. The same is true for quite a few other moves as well, it's like they split one character into two and then distributed the moves between them at random.

I dunno, Isabelle does feel worse than Villager, but I do enjoy her specials fine. I honestly have more fun with her than Villager, but I know it’s probably because the Lloyd trap and fishing rod piss my friends off more than Villager’s kit.

I’m just glad for more AC representation.

All I cared about personally was Ridley. After him I wanted Rool to get in for all the supportive Roolbros who backed Ridley. Now I'd like to see Banjo Kazooie, Doomguy, and just anything that isn't more anime swordsman. I think the only RPG swordsman that wouldn't make me pissed at this point is Crono. Just don't give him a fucking counter.

There’s a few characters I don’t really care for, I wouldn’t miss them if they were removed. But I have the characters that I want so I’m happy. No complaints.

For dlc, if we got Travis Touchdown, Sephiroth or Chrono would be a dream come true. I wouldn’t mind Banjo or Master Chief either. I’m just patiently playing the game while I wait.
