no, the porn made it popular

It's very good. Most people here played it for android ass and are such mouth breathers they couldn't pay attention to or comprehend the simple plot.

It's not without flaws, but I think it's a genuinely good game and a spirited follow-up to the original Nier.

It's just hard to talk about it without people shitposting about viral 2B fanservice.

Attached: 345934.jpg (500x500, 65K)

it's shit

No, it's a niche game with weird storytelling gimmicks. It's definitely not for everyone, but the people who like it love it alot. It's one of the classic examples of suffering from mainstream success. I don't really care for it because the storytelling was a miss for me personally.

When it comes to story and world building, yes. Gameplay wise, it's serviceable but could be much better. Never bad enough that I wanted to stop playing, though.

The big problem with the 'reaction' to NieR Automata is that there was a huge community of 'hangers-on' type folk who latched onto it in order to, I dunno, try to pretend they're deep or someshit. Think about cosplayers who haven't actually beat the game or had never heard of the first game until they saw a picture of 2B

Ignore that bullshit, and you have a very good game that tells a similar story and has a similar atmospheric feel to the first NieR

Yes, Yoko Taro is a based genius of the highest proportions

It's a meh game with meh story that will have you crying in the last 15 minutes of the true ending.

The music is great.
The gameplay is okay.
The story is.. ok.
Ending E, must be experienced. It's worth playing the game for this only in my opinion.

its a good game but highly overated since its alot of peoples first taro game and the "best" one he made so far.

No, the only thing of value are the characters and music. The combat is very shallow and the story is mediocre and loldeep. The hacking and shooter sections are tedious and bring the game down a notch. Games doesn't deserve anything more than an 8/10

>it's a niche game
is it really a niche game if it sold 3 million though?

play it and find out
now that it's available on all the platforms that matter and for cheap, you have no excuse

yes. the game wasn't built for average mainstream gamer and I bet most of them played it once and put it down

what's the thing about endings
how much hours it takes to get all of them

Geniune question: do you have any examples of normies complaining about it? I want a good laugh

That's exactly what happened.

Yes, it's a game designed for a niche that happened to achieve good sales. Similar to Undertale or Dark Souls, they weren't built for mainstream appeal, but they got mainstream appeal because the mainstream is so shitty. If you don't know or care what Nier is about before Automata, there's a chance you're just playing it because it's not Call of Duty, and that's a bad reason to play it.

normies don't complain about something trendy. they just stop using it and repeat the same lines in their meetings

check achievement unlock %

no, theres nothing to complain about. its just that average normie gamer isnt going to play a game five times over for the unlocked ending

Ending A is your first playthrough. You then play through the game again as 9S which gives you different perspectives on a few sections of the game. I would say about 30-40% of the second playthrough is new content. Once you complete that, you go into the final chapter of the game which leads you to endings C, D, and E... depending on your choices at the end.

No, because that’s more than Persona 5 & Bloodborne sold

Mediocre at best. Very good music, and Ending E is cool if you buy the game and can connect to the internet... but that's it. The rest is shit.

solid 8

Unless you like the narrative or setting, it'll play like a mediocre open world game. It's mechanics and game design are shallow and stretched out with repetitive filler to justify its, at the time, $60 price tag. The entire hook is in the story that requires you to play through the entire game, all its endings, and find all the little pieces of story chopped up and spread throughout the game.

Attached: 1553747247748.jpg (1280x720, 121K)

The main endings aren’t really endings just like breaks between acts

what does the plot have to do with anything

no it's not. Bloodborne would be more niche since it has lower sales than that

Are you kidding

>You then play through the game again as 9S
sounds great
>depending on your choices at the end
of I save just before the end then I can play them all (switching savefiles of course)

>of I save just before the end then I can play them all (switching savefiles of course)
After you achieve either ending C or D, you unlock chapter select which will allow you to do the other endings.

Spoilers for how to get the ending: You get either ending C or D depending on your choice at the end of the game. Once you complete that ending, you can go back into the chapter select menu and pick the other option. In doing that, you also move into ending E.

no, is the game good or is the plot good

I thought it was a lot worse than Gestalt because combat doesn't feel as good even though it's a lot more mechanically enjoyable to play. Although that isn't entirely true either because I absolutely despise the fact that all weapons sort of float around and it often feels like there's no weight at all
Playing 9S with a spear is probably the most enjoyable part of the game in that regard, or those precious few moments where you get to use a giant mech thingy
Fighting against robots instead of shades is really lame and just doesn't cut it for me, there's no blood no nothing just a couple machine parts flying around and minor explosions
It also has a lesser soundtrack and characters compared to Gestalt, 2B and 9S just aren't as memorable and they kind of ruined Devola and Popola so fuck you dev team
I choked up a little at the end though which was nice
All things considered though I think it's a good "sequel" and I'd be glad to see a third game.

Retard

if you go in with the mindset that the plot is unimportant and you ignore it then the game is not going to be fun for you

Depends, do you like holding down trigger buttons and participating in fights that take way too long?

lol no

It should be a game and not a movie.
Stop defending it with the plot. It's shit.
Taro is a fucking hack and ruined his series.
Drakengard=Drakengard3>nier

No. It's largely overrated due to millions of newfags having it as their first Taro experience drawn in by fanservice. It's good, anyone who thinks it's a masterpiece are retarded.

This guy has 210 IQ and is literally a rocket scientist, and responsible for most of the technology underlying modern game engines. He hasn't made anything for the games industry in decades and almost every game that comes out is still using his tech. Are you calling him a retard?

Attached: 1448384958892.jpg (850x400, 46K)

No because comments like this prove that Normies genuinely consider it a masterpiece
> This game’s overall narrative focuses very closely on the core existentialist themes that the aforementioned philosophers made central to their work. On the one hand it explores what is the fundamental nature of humanity; on the other, more importantly, it also explores what is our relationship to “God” - not God in the literal sense, but rather the idea, or concept, that there’s greater meaning and purpose in the universe which, firstly, we can analyse and understand, and secondly, we can participate in. Generally speaking existentialists arrived at the belief that there is no purpose to any of it - this is where Nietzsche’s famous “God is dead” quote comes from - and that the futility of searching for a meaning to life is fundamentally counter-intuitive and absurd.

Absolutely based quote.

See , this is from an actual journalism outlet. People consider NieR a masterpiece

>they kind of ruined Devola and Popola so fuck you dev team
?

wihle the quote is not untrue, you're retarded if you think that means that a game's story cannot mean just as much as the story of a book or movie

Yeah it's a pretty retarded thing to say post early 90s. Many games wouldn't have had such great sales without their stories specifically. Good example is Last of Us (Kind of mediocre gameplay but good story)

As someone who loves the game to death, and considers it his favorite game from 2017 despite playing most of the other critically acclaimed games from that year, I would have to answer your question with a no on it being a masterpiece.
There are a few glaring flaws that many people tend to overlook, but I personally enjoyed the story and various sidequests so much and was broken enough by the various endings that it made the biggest impact on me that year.
Helps that I'm a mildly depressed schmuck who's biggest fear is oblivion after death, and this games knows how to hit all of those terrifying sweet spots.

It's good but it should have been completely linear. Also I had to drop it because it made me want to fap all the time.

They changed the faces/hairstyles and neither comes even close to the emotionally charged heights they reached in Gestalt
>that scream

I swear to god, NieRfags are just as bad as Lainfags at this point

Actually you're completely wrong! A game experience involves many more elements than just a narrative unfolding, and so it is de facto less important, because the player is intended to be focusing on other things instead of the narrative. The narrative shares the stage with other elements, and therefore is necessarily less important than if it stood alone. The worst use of the games medium is to use it as an emulation of passive fiction like a book or a movie, and the best use is to minimize passive storytelling. Narratives and plots should be largely thematic and conceptual that are connected to the interactive element, and because that is so difficult to do well, most games would be improved by removing plot elements altogether. Story is not just unimportant, it is actively harming the quality of many modern games.

>world is very empty, as in rooms have literally nothing in them. Feels very lazy ("lol its an apocalyptic wasteland dood")
>play the same game twice with minimal changes and a tedious hacking game to get to the 2nd part of the game
>Adam and Eve story was way too short, they basically show up and within a couple hours they're dead and gone forever with minor references throughout the rest of it
>shooter sections are braindead easy and all similar
>pretty shallow combat, only a couple combos, 4 types of weapons and movesets
>robots are all very similar looking, nothing really interesting to fight besides some bosses
>a bunch of weapons but all of the same type have the same moveset
>hold shoot down the whole game
>most sidequests are mmo tier
>story tries a little to hard to be deep and philosophical but isnt really
>final ending is behind a 15 minute shooting section with zero variety
>sequel bait
>red haired girls just show up near the end, do nothing, die, and expect you to feel sad. Who the fuck are these people? You can't just give me a 5 minute text story and expect me to care about them

Despite all those flaws I still liked it and gave it an 8/10

no but it's still decent

it can but it never does
make a good game and then add a story, not the other way around

(You)

Mass Effect 1
Last of Us
Last Guardian

>it is actively harming the quality of many modern games
it depends on the specific game though.
take something like The Stanley Parable - while the story isn't linear and branches a lot, and is quite unconventional, that game's entire point is based around a series of narratives involving the player of the game and its narrator.

It's no masterpiece. It's a Taro game with slightly below average Taro story and a platinum game with below average platinum gameplay.

>Games doesn't deserve anything more than an 8/10
Why are scores for video games so inflated? I would say it's pretty much a perfect 5, competent but mediocre gameplay and fails to capitalize on its concepts, add maybe .5 points for ambition.

what

It's a good game, get it when it's on sale.

Yes, that's good because it ties the narrative very closely to the interactive elements. Doing something as simple as having branching dialogue strings for each decision path is head and shoulders above the use of narrative in most games. And narrative that is outside of the interactive element is almost completely absent, unlike most other narrative-focused games where you get railroaded into cutscenes for 30% of the game's runtime.

The music, characters, some levels, bosses, and ambition in some areas made it worth an 8.

I think my scores are based on school where anything below a 6.5 is failure and this game is by no means a failure to me

What a completely pointless statement, literally just a wiki summary of existentialism divorced of context and critique.

i won't disagree with what you said there, but the original point was:
>you're retarded if you think [...] that a game's story cannot mean just as much as the story of a book or movie
which i guess could be worded better, but the stanley parable requires its story because it's literally entirely based around it

Yes

Original is more so though

it's the greatest game ever made. shows what videogames can accomplish if they use their unique characteristics instead of trying to copy film.

Nier: A is genuinely an intellectual masterpiece and uses it’s medium to explore it’s ideas in a way that could not be accurately replicated in film or text

Nier is a hard hitting emotional masterpiece and uses it’s medium to tel a story in a way that could not be accurately represented in film or text.

Drakengard 3 is an attempt to do Nier in reverse and worth playing for some interesting ideas and characters but ultimately doesn’t utilize the medium as well as it’s predecessor.

Drakengard 1 has very interesting characters no one else would dare use (Leonard) but also would be fine as a book or film.

Ending E is kino.

>Nier is a hard hitting emotional masterpiece and uses it’s medium to tel a story in a way that could not be accurately represented in film or text.
How so?

Reminder that NieR is already the most acclaimed game of the decade behind BOTW & Dark Souls

> Dark Souls rated THAT high
Why?

Hivemind, same reason the top 10 is overwhelmingly flagship Nintendo games.

It's okay, but you better know it is mainly a narrative game. It has simplified gameplay compared to what it could be, so it is mostly about having levels.

No, but it's really good.

It's $24 right now on DLGamer. The lowest its ever been

Takes 40 hours of tedium to get to it.

Finally someone with good taste.

I got it during the black friday sale last year, seems like it's even cheaper now.

FF7 fags need to kill themselves, FF7 was never good

Not gameplaywise, but otherwise? Absolutely.

Attached: 54645646.jpg (640x405, 34K)

Ending D requires the player to truly sacrifice something in order to obtain something, if they want. Rather than watching a character sacrifice themselves in a movie or even choosing a consequence-less sacrifice option in a game where you can just reload your old save, the player is connected to Nier through the destruction of everything they’ve worked for up to that point in order to save Kaine

Furthermore, Nier’s sins are the sins of the player, unlike Spec Ops: The Line, your own choices as a player caused the narrative aggression of the shades—they will not attack unless you attack them first until you get Weiss. You, the player, chose to slaughter children.

>omg you kill children
>but they don't really look like children
>you just find out later they're the equivalent
>because of magic
>trooooooooololololololo

It's better than critics say, as most "critics" never truly finished the game.
It's honestly one of the most impressive and important games of 2010s.

Both are great.
No idea why zoomer fags like you think that you cannot have both.

Carmack is a literal autist, and has been proven wrong dozens of times.
Yes, I actually like my porn with plot.

>Good example is Last of Us (Kind of mediocre gameplay but good story)
Way to destroy your own credibility in a single sentence. TLOU is a prime example of absolute mouth-breather tier gameplay AND plot.

Yeah that’s the point
You attacked a bunch of innocent non-aggressive creatures because they looked different and society told you they were monsters

Taro wrote it after hearing that the 911 hijackers thought they had been doing the right thing

>story in porn isn't important
This is factually incorrect.

It's nothing special gameplay-wise, aesthetically it's very pretty, the soundtrack is amazing and the lore is pretty deep and interesting. Getting the E ending brought me to tears.

Taro made a game built upon you killing shit because that's what most players expect from RPGs and what most PR departments emphasis in gameplay. Surprise, people killed shit. Taro is a fucking genius.

Yes

Yup. Too bad you’re too much of a brainlet to see why.

hahahahahaha this incel

He’s right though

THIS CANNOT CONTINUE.

It's not great, but also not abysmal. Very much a C+ of a game overall. Also twice as long as it has any right to be.

The most disappointing thing I found was the story, which I saw hyped up as this novel (or at the very least thoroughly interesting) take on how humanist and spiritual philosophies are impacted by AI. And while the game does have its moments the machine orgy pit, 2B lamenting that the 9S copied on the Bunker isn't the same 9S that dies in her arms on Earth, humanity worshiped as a race of dead gods, it generally flat or retreads over very tired concepts that are explored better elsewhere (what if most conflicts are caused by miscommunication/misunderstanding? what if war is bad? is an AI with human-level intelligence basically human even if it isn't made of flesh?)

I also really disliked how the whole "Androids are not permitted to express/experience emotions, even though they clearly do" thing was limply explored. There's 2 or 3 characters that sporadically bring this up every now and then, but absolutely nothing ever comes of it, while everyone else just shamelessly ignores what appears to be an arbitrary rule.

Attached: nines.jpg (225x225, 7K)

>HAHAHA
>THE ROBOT PRETENDING TO FUCK EACH OTHER
>GENIUS

The emotions thing -is- largely ignored—2B clings to it in an attempt to distance herself emotionally from 9S. It’s value to the plot is it’s relevance to 2B’s character rather than a speculative fiction thing.

wish 2B would crush my head between her thighs while A2 spams taunt in the background

Attached: tfw no 2B gf.jpg (1556x892, 256K)

same is said about GTA 5

Haven’t played it so I can’t say.

They were emulating what they knew of humans. The next scene is them creating new life, because that's what they were trying to do. They didn't know how it worked, so they were just going through the motions. Humans hump > one of them gets pregnant > baby comes out. That's all they knew, so it was all they could do until pushed to desperation by 2B's slaughtering them. They've been trying to just exist, but the androids keep killing them.
They get fed up with it (this cannot continue) and manage to do what they'd been trying to do by merging together. Later, the life they created learned how to just do it himself, completing what they'd been trying to do: create life.

>Also twice as long as it has any right to be.
This is probably my biggest problem with it in that it was full of empty content or content that could've otherwise been removed, condensed or streamlined because it provided little value outside of extending the playtime of the game, which was surely due to it being released as a full-priced, $60 product. I also feel like the open world design didn't help and a more linear approach would've done it a lot of good.

The whole androids not expressing emotions thing doesn't mean that they are all prohibited from doing so. It's more that they aren't supposed to let their emotions get in the way of their missions, either by getting to attached or by defying or questioning orders in emotional outbursts. It's clearly fine that they experience emotions because at one point 6O talks about how the operators are doing fortune telling about love and all that and there are apparently idols that they fangirl about.

>Furthermore, Nier’s sins are the sins of the player, unlike Spec Ops: The Line, your own choices as a player caused the narrative aggression

Spec Ops also features sections of the game where characters only become aggro if you make the first move. And both games require that the player eventually kill in order to progress, so I don't see how that's a fair contrast to draw between them.

None of which makes a lick of sense. Literally pretentious.

It has a creative 4th breaking ending but everything else is mediocre Witcher-like world, and the combat is standard bayonetta-like and the story is anime cringe.

Absolutely retarded quote, though he proba bly said that because he's coming from an era of gaming that focused almost entirely on mechanics while "story" was mostly just the basic filler to give the player a goal and a basic idea of the world they're in. If you think games like Planescape torment, the Baldur's gate series (before the retarded enhancements) or Mass effect were bad or were good mainly because of they're gameplay you're fucking retarded.

>none of which makes a lick of sense
Let me potato it up for you, then.
ROBOT MADE BY ALIENS TO KILL HUMANS.
ALIENS DIE.
HUMANS DIE.
ROBOT HAS NO PURPOSE NOW.
ROBOT LOOKS THROUGH HUMAN HISTORY.
SEES HUMANS DOING HUMAN THINGS.
ROBOT WANTS TO DO THAT TOO.
ROBOT MAKES MORE OF ITSELF.
ROBOT GAINS INDIVIDUALITY.
ANDROIDS KILLING ROBOTS.
SOME ROBOTS FIGHT BACK, SOME RUN, SOME GO CRAZY.
ANDROID FINDS CRAZY ROBOTS TRYING TO BE HUMAN.
CRAZY ROBOTS GO CRAZIER AND MAKE NEW ROBOT THAT'S BETTER THAN THE OTHERS.
FIGHTING HAPPENS.

“pretentious” is the defensive cry of the brainlet. “I do not understand this,” he shouts, “therefore it must not have meaning!”

See, that would make sense if 2B was the only character to bring it up, but I'm pretty sure 9S's operator (or maybe even his Pod?) chastises him a couple times as well. I definitely like that 2B's cold attitude towards 9S is given plot relevance late in the game, but the "android emotions are bad" rule seems like a wonky articulation of.

>One of the operators fangirls out

Yeah, there's several androids on the Bunker that clearly don't give a fuck about hiding their emotions. 2B's operator is a very clear example of this.

WHY DID THE ALIENS INVADE
WHY DID THE ROBOTS TURN ON ALIENS
WHY DID SMART, SPACE TRAVELING ALIENS MAKE ROBOTS TOO SMART
WHAT IF ROBOTS WERE PEOPLE
ROBOTS LOOK THROUGH ALIEN HISTORY
OR NOT

No innocent creature in Nier needs to be struck to complete the game.

One needs to be killed to complete a sidequest, however

I haven’t played Spec-Ops, I brought it up because I knew someone would if I didn’t and people say that about it all the time.

Nigger the best way to play N:A is to walk right in with no expectations.

It’s a rule for all of them, most just don’t follow it (because they can’t, the way they’re designed)

Parallel to the shit naysayers say about NieR, these same people would essentially be saying that Alexandros of Antioch was an incel virgin who only liked Venus for her titties and delicious abs

Attached: Venus_de_Milo.jpg (300x564, 47K)

Gunna jump on board the bunch of (You)s that are probably about to be hurled your way, but,

Humanity was already long dead by the time the aliens first arrived with their machines.

Nier is ruined by playing Automata first

It's got some nice music and a sexy robot.
Worth a play through if you can get it on sale but the pc port is pretty ass.

Yes.

BECAUSE THEY WANTED TO TAKE OVER EARTH.
BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T WANT TO BE SLAVES ANYMORE.
BECAUSE HUBRIS IS A THING.
THAT'S THE ENTIRE PLOT OF THE GAME.
THEY WERE MADE BY ALIENS, THEY ALREADY KNEW ABOUT ALIEN TECH AND WERE MORE INTERESTED IN, WHAT THEY PERCEIVED AS, AN ALIEN CIVILIZATION. IF YOU WERE ON ANOTHER PLANET, WOULD YOU READ UP ON EARTH HISTORY OR ALIEN HISTORY?
THE GAME IS ABOUT HUMANITY AND WHAT IT MEANS TO BE ALIVE. HOW DO YOU NOT GET THAT?

Nier: A is LITERALLY too complex for 90% of Yea Forums who act like it’s devoid of value for not being equal to classic works of philosophy (not one page of which they have read or understood).

LITERALLY.

The game me buy a controller because of the dodge keybind on kb/m.

No, it's another "dude waifu lmao" game. Would be ignored and buried if not for the waifufags.

I'm thinking of doing another replay of the game but on very hard difficulty now that the DLC is on sale. Thoughts? Also how are the bonus battle modes?

Attached: kaine.jpg (763x1024, 123K)

Ironically, as deep and pretentious as you guys claim that stuff to be, that's all supposed to be surface level stuff in nier. The real questions are stuff like "If gods created humans and humans created us, does that make them gods? Their absence certainly parallels gods. Do we get an afterlife as well? Or were humans not as capable as their parents? If so, would the gods let their grandchildren into the ether that they've made?" Etc. Etc.

t. never actually played the game.

>WHY DID THE ROBOTS TURN ON ALIENS
>WHY DID SMART ALIENS MAKE ROBOTS TOO SMART

According to Adam, the aliens were actually somewhat fragile and childlike. The machines were initially more simplistic in their intelligence too, but they were created with the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to their surroundings. Something about their time on Earth led them to surpass the intelligence of the aliens, as well as gave them a motivation to destroy them.

Idiot lol

not a masterpiece, but it's still good
shame the PC port sucks ass, so if you're on PC, just pirate it

>most impressive and important games of 2010s
Well, in some ways, I guess. I wouldn't call it the "best" game of the 2010s (or whatever period), because there are some more fun games out there. And it has some serious flaws desu. But if you've played a lot of games, if you've seen a few decades of them, it's pretty rare you'll see a game that you can say is both a significantly novel experience AND a good game. But Automata was that for me. It was the first game in a pretty long time that I felt was going some new places. You have to be willing to go along with it though. The plot (and the whole setting) are very confusing at first. A lot of it was pretty cleverly designed to manipulate you and mess with your head. Doesn't always work though. It's still kind of a mess if you ask me. Some people don't get into it at all it seems.
I wouldn't want this to be my only game if I was stuck on a desert island or something but insofar as I'm not that's probably the game I'm most glad I played this decade. I had to force myself a little because I usually don't like that kind of combat. Automata doesn't have the best combat, it's not Platinum's best, but it's still alright. The balance is fucked up though.
Also Automata has a lot of similarities with the first Nier. Some of it very similar. It's kind of a different take on it. Some of it was done better. Some of it not as well. So you can't really call Automata something new, you'd have to consider the Nier games together. Probably the Drakengard games as well, I dunno. Haven't played those. Automata is more accessible though and that's what a lot of people will play instead of the older games. I couldn't really recommend people play the first Nier first it's too much of a pain in the ass and Automata's plenty good.
Also fuck 2B is pretty. All of the Yorha androids really. The symbolism is all very much in your face. They don't give a shit. It's not subtle but the aesthetic are great.

It's a good game but the fanbase is borderline obsessive and obnoxious like Undertalen one

It's overrated as fuck but it's still great. It's defo worth a play and I find it hard to believe there isn't something to enjoy for everyone but at the same time everyone aping and screaming the game is mind blowing and generation defining has clearly never played another yoko taro game.

dilate

its good and worth a play. great even if youre into weebshit (im not but i enjoyed it regardless). i guarantee 90% of anons who will tell you its shit havent played it and are whoring for (You)s. or didnt understand it because they stopped to fap to 2b every 5 minutes

The real themes of Nier: A are using the transhumanistic ideas as a parable for a rejection of nihilism, as well as exploring the meaning of personal identity and the value of memory, autonomy, and meaning in determining who a person is and which if these is most valuable.

There’s also an entirely separate exploration of the concept of Death of the Author which is driven home is SPECTACULAR fashion through the skits attached to the Nier concert played after the game’s release.

That’s you champ

WHY DID THEY WANT TO TAKE OVER THE EARTH
WHY DID THE ROBOTS THINK THEY WERE SLAVES
HUBRIS SHOULD BE THE CRUX OF A STORY NOT A BACKGROUND ELEMENT THAT PROVIDES THE FOUNDATIONAL REASONS FOR THE EXISTENCE OF THE MAIN ANTAGONISTS
ESPECIALLY WHEN ITS TAKEN AS AN ASSUMPTION THAT THE ROBOTS TOOK OVER SIMPLY TO ACHIEVE LIBERTY BUT WITHOUT EVER CONTEXTUALIZING SAID LIBERTY IN REFERENCE TO THEIR CREATORS WHILE ALSO BEING BOUND TO THEIR ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING THAT WOULDN'T ALLOW THEM TO EXPLORE OUTSIDE OF IT, WHICH IS WHY THEY TRIED TO PREVENT THEIR VICTORY OVER THE ANDROIDS SINCE IT WOULD MEAN THE END OF THEIR EXISTENCE VIS-A-VIS THEIR PROGRAMING, WHICH BRINGS UP THE QUESTION AS TO WHY THEIR ADVANCED, SUPER SMART CREATORS, WHO TRAVELED ALL THIS DISTANCE, ALL BY THEMSELVES, AS OPPOSED TO PART OF AN INTERSTELLAR SOCIETY WHO SENT OUT A SCOUTING UNIT, BUT IN FACT THEIR ENTIRE CIVILIZATION, WITH NO OTHER SPACE FARING RELATIVES OR RACES ABLE TO COME TO THEIR RESCUE, WERE STUPID ENOUGH TO GIVE THE ROBOTS TH ABILITY TO CONCEIVE OF LIBERTY OR SLAVERY
WHAT IF ROBOTS WERE PEOPLE IS A BAD PLOT BECAUSE IT MAKES THEM ALMOST INDISTINGUISHABLE FROM PEOPLE SO WHY NOT JUST HAVE PEOPLE. OH I KNOW WHY BECAUSE ROBOTS ARE COOOOOOOOOOOOOL. WHAT IF ZOMBIES WERE PEOPLE? WHAT IF ANIMALS WERE PEOPLE? WHAT IF NAZIS WERE PEOPLE? GOD DAMN, THIS IS SO DEEP. I THINK I GET IT NOW. IT'S ALMOST AS IF HUMANS NOTHING MORE THAN BIOLOGICAL ROBOTS PREPROGRAMMED TO SURVIVE AND BREED BY THEIR DNA. GOD DAMN. I THINK USING ROBOTS AS A MEANS TO EXPRESS THAT THEME IS GENIUS AND TOTALLY NOT A PRETENTIOUS, HACKNEYED WEEB WAY OF DOING IT BY SOME B-RATE, ANIME DIRECTOR WANNABE VIDEO GAME DIRECTOR
NO IN FACT I THINK THAT THE HISTORY AND DATA AND KNOWLEDGE STORED IN THE DATABANKS OF A FUCKING SPACE SHIP FROM A CIVILIZATION THAT HAS SPENT GOD KNOWS HOW LONG EXPLORING THE ENDLESS STARRY EXPANSE WOULD CONTAIN FAR MORE QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE INFORMATION WORTH PROCESSING
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE ALIVE BESIDES PAYING

>they stopped to fap to 2b every 5 minutes
My faps kept getting sadder and sadder.

$60 DOLLARS TO SQUARE ENIX FOR A SUBPAR GAME WITH A TRIPE PHILOSOPHICALLY THEMED NARRATIVE THAT HAS BEEN DONE BETTER IN OTHER MEDIUMS IN OTHER GAMES AND IN OTHER WAYS AND DEFENDING IT ON A GODDAMN FLUFFY TAWAINESE PANCAKE FRYING BOARD

Imagine being this incapable of literary analysis

This is the result of lazy English teachers making their class a guaranteed pass so long as you do the work with absolutely no standards at all

Look into the first nier to know about the red hair girls.

lol okay Nier is shakespeare

The themes of a product elevating the importance and strengths of its creator is definitely a neat one. There's the obvious business of "is a creator by definition superior to that which it creates, or can it be equals with its product? Or even surpassed?" Outside the immediate parallels with religion, I also like how it goes in hand with a child's relationship to its parent: parents aren't just the "creators" of their kids, but are also role models. However, as children ascend to adulthood, they can match the accomplishments and strengths of their parents, and in some cases progress beyond their parents' limitations.

Very much gets into the notion of superiority being a tangled mess of perspective.

BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY DO
BECAUSE THEY FELT THE ALIENS WERE LIMITING THEIR EVOLUTION
THE ALIENS ARE FUCKING DUMB YOU IDIOT ADAM CALLS THEM "PLANT-LIKE" THEY'RE JUST REALLY GOOD AT COPYING SHIT THEY ENCOUNTER THAT'S WHY THE ALIENS' ROBOTS LOOK LIKE EMIL
NO IT'S BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE DEAD AND ROBOTS ARE WHAT'S LEFT AT THE END OF THE SETTING IN NIER 1. IT USES THIS AS A VEHICLE TO DRIVE THE STORY BECAUSE ROBOTS ARE THINGS THAT WE PERCEIVE DIFFERENTLY BECAUSE OF HOW THEY'RE MADE AND WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE. THE ANDROIDS ARE NO LESS SILLY OR IMMATURE THAN THE MACHINES WHO LOOK LIKE CHILDRENS' TOYS.
SHUT THE FUCK UP, RETARD

Why did humans/aliens give their creations emotions?

See? Look at this, he thinks Shakespeare requires a fuckload of analysis because he has absolutely no idea how to do and just automatically assumes that old, familiar writers are complex purely because he knows their names. “Analysis,” he thinks, “is for OLD things, for works that are shown to me in school”.

Because it's more fun that way.

>the aliens crossed time and space to conquer another star were stupid
Alright.

That's the evolutionary function they adapted to, dude.

If we’re discussing the narrative in a literal sense:

Aliens didn’t

Humans used records of human personalities to stabilize the AI of the Androids designed to oversee the gestalt project, emotions came as a consequence

This or Horizon: Zero Dawn?

I was getting into it, the story was nice, the music was fucking great but I ended up dropping it at route B because 9S' gameplay is fucking BORING

The people in the middle who actually understand what the game was about while also recognizing the flaws in the gameplay.

Depends on what you’re looking for, but I prefer this

The philosophy stuff is there but don't go into the game for it, just enjoy the ride

The former, the latter hasn’t actually read philosophy

Better yet play it and judge for yourself

YOU KNOW WHAT THIS IS CALLED
THIS IS MAKING A PLOT AND THEN WORKING BACKWARDS
TRYING TO EXPLAIN HOW YOU CONTRIVED THIS CONFLICT IN YOUR PLOT
IT BECAME THIS WAY BECAUSE OF REASONS
AND THOSE REASONS DON'T REALLY MATTER AND AREN'T IMPORTANT
JUST ACCEPT THE SITUATION AS IT IS AND LISTEN
WELL OKAY BUT THE PROBLEM WITH A SCIFI SETTING IS THAT IT IS PRESUMED TO BE IN THE FUTURE AND THE FUTURE STEMS FROM THE PRESENT LEADING US TO CONJECTURE HOW HISTORY ADVANCED FROM NOW UNTIL THEN
BUT IF WE WERE TO REMOVE THAT ELEMENT AND JUST WORK OFF OF THE PREMISE, YOU STILL HAVE ELEMENTS LIKE EXTRATERRESTRIALS THAT HAVE BAGGAGE
THERE ARE EXPECTATIONS TO WHAT ET IS LIKE AND WHAT IT MEANS TO TRAVEL THE STARS TO EARTH IN WHAT WOULD BE LIKELY A LONG JOURNEY, UNLESS ITS NOT IN WHICH CASE THE ABILITY TO COMMUTE TO AND FROM STARS SHOULD MEAN THAT SAID ALIENS ARE NOT ONLY EXTREMELY ADVANCED BUT ALSO NOT ALONE SINCE THE TECHNOLOGY WOULD BE AVAILABLE TO MOVE AROUND SWIFTLY AND EASILY ALLOWING A MORE WIDE SPREAD CIVILIZATION TO THRIVE
BUT THEN WHY INCLUDE THE ALIENS AT ALL WHEN THEY'RE MORE OF AN ADDENDUM LIKE THE HUMANS
OH THE CREATIONS OF ALIENS AND HUMANS ARE FIGHTING FOREVER AND EVER ON EARTH
WHICH BY THE WAY NEVER MADE ANY GODDAMN SENSE
THE FUCKING OBVIOUS QUESTIONS 2B AND 9S DISCUSS THROUGHOUT THE FIRST PLAYTHROUGH ABOUT WHY THINGS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE ARE PAINFUL BECAUSE ANY CONSCIOUS PLAYER IS LIKELY CONSIDERING THEM FROM THE START
AND NO THE ALIENS ARE DUMB ALIENS BY DEFINITION CANNOT BE DUMB BECAUSE THEY REACH EARTH A STAR THAT HAS NO KNOW NEARBY LIFE SUPPORTING RELATIVE AND ANY TRAVERSAL OF SPACE TO REACH EARTH WOULD REQUIRE TECHNOLOGY THAT WOULD BY DEFINITION MEAN THE ALIENS ARE NOT DUMB
AND WHERE'S THE HISTORY OF THE WAR BETWEEN THE ROBOTS AND ALIENS
I THINK THAT WOULD BE PRETTY INTERESTING TO READ ABOUT
IT'S JUST
OH THE ROBOTS KILLED THEM
GREAT
GENIUS
WRITING
TARO
I LOVE IT WHEN THE GAME GIVES AN IN LORE REASON FOR REUSING ASSETS
THEY'RE LIKE DOLLS AND ALL THE SAME

when i got to 9s i just turned down the difficulty, popped on the cheesiest plugin chips i had and powered through B route in like a day.

It was babies' first RPG and is now powered by nostalgiafaggotry

Alright, stupid.
HZD is a well designed game that borrows from every other damn game there was at the time. So, while it's well done, it's also basically a bunch of other games patched together. It's mechanics may feel very familiar to you depending on your diet of games.

Those stage plays seem pretty cringe desu.

I honestly shouldn’t be surprised that you entirely missed the point since you’re shit at reading

youtube.com/watch?v=mOQwMLWEJrg

KINO

IF THEY WEREN'T FIGHTING ALIEN MACHINES WHAT ELSE WOULD THEY BE FIGHTING
THE WHOLE THING IS ABOUT ALIEN MACHINES BRUTE FORCING THEMSELVES INTO THE WAY OF HUMANITY
THAT MAKES THEM FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT FROM THE ANDROIDS WHO ATTEMPT TO IMITATE HUMANITY BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE TAUGHT TO DO
THEY WERE EDUCATED FROM BIRTH ON HOW TO LIVE LIKE HUMANS AND THEY HAVE A DESIRE TO IMITATE THIS BEHAVIOR BUT THEY CAN'T FUCKING DO IT
BECAUSE THEY'RE LIKE YOU AND ME
WE WERE SCHOOLED IN ORDER TO BECOME PROPER HUMAN BEINGS BUT SOMEWHERE ALONG THE WAY WE BECAME INDEPENDENT
BUT SOME OF US NEVER GOT WHAT IT MEANT TO BE A HUMAN BEING
LIKE YOU
YOU FUCKING RETARD
YOU HAVE ALL THESE PRECONCEIVED NOTIONS OF WHAT A STORY SHOULD BE AND WHAT IT SHOULD DO
BUT YOU DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THIS
YOU PRETENTIOUS FAGGOT

I'm a different user but I want to say that Shakespeare really needs to be read with notes because the references found in his works are just to old to be know by most people

>genius weeb literally analyst is also arrogant asshole
What is the deep reason for toobie's leotard thong btw?

I've been wanting to play Gestalt for a long time now. Now more than ever since I just finished Automata.
I hope it doesn't run like shit on a PS3 emulator or something because that game seems rare as shit.

Looks kino to me senpai

Believe the people who said that the gameplay is shit

>play game
>keep dying in the tutorial
>can't figure out how to save
>death brings you back to the beginning

>3 hours of restarting
>Decide to lower difficulty to hard

>Die in 2 hits instead of 1

Yeah. Fuck this game. Too difficult for me.

>Very hard is very hard
>Hard is hard

Wow so yeah you're stuck.
You could always suck some user's dick to finish the intro on hard for you though.
It would be way less degrading than lowering the difficulty setting.

I expect games to be hard but doable.
I shouldn't have to restart all the way back to the beginning after I die. It's tedious

Give me some fucking checkpoints

just play on normal until you have the levels/chips to play on hard
the game was set up this way to piss on people like you who insists on starting on hard

WHY DO THEY HAVE TO FIGHT ANYTHING
OH ITS BECAUSE TARO CAN'T CREATE A GAMEPLAY DESIGN THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE FIGHTING
BECAUSE HE'S A HACK
AND JUST FALLS IN LINE WITH WHAT EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IN VIDEO GAMES AND THAT'S KILLING SHIT
BUT WAIT A GENIUS LIKE HIM WILL TURN THAT ON ITS HEAD
AGAIN
AND AGAIN
FUCKING GENIUS
KILLING, WAR, AND VIOLENCE IS BAD LOL
WHAT THE FUCK WHO'S BRUTE FORCING ANYTHING YOU GO AROUND SLAUGHTING ALMOST EVERY FUCKING ALIEN ROBOT YOU FIND
IN FACT I DON'T SEE HOW THE MACHINES EVEN GOT AS FAR AS THEY DID WITH OUT OP 2B AND 9S ARE
DID I MISS A LORE REASON AS TO WHY YOU'RE ABLE TO GO AROUND SLAUGHTERING MACHINES LEFT AND RIGHT
OH BECAUSE ITS A VIDEO GAME THAT NEEDS TO SELL TO THE WIDEST POSSIBLE RETARDED WEEB PLATINUM DEMOGRAPHIC AND TARO NEEDS A FUCKING PAYCHECK AND DOESN'T WANNA DIE A PENNYLESS PHILOSOPHER WANNABE BUT SOMEHOW SHILLED HIS 'BRAND' OF GAME ONTO A MAJOR COMPANY THAT PAYS HIM TO MAKE IS OFF-BRAND TYPE OF PRODUCT
GOD I LOVE THIS GENIUS SO WELL HE'S SO DARING AND PHILOSOPHICAL YEA
NO ONE TAUGHT ANYONE ANYTHING
THEY'RE FUCKING ROBOTS AND ANDROIDS
WITHOUT ESTABLISHING THE CRITERIA IN WHICH SAID CREATIONS ARE ABLE TO SURPASS THE EVOLUTIONARY ABILITY OF BIOLOGICALS THEN THE QUESTION REMAINS HOW THEY COULD EVER SURPASS THEIR ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING
THEM BEING FUCKING ROBOTS ISN'T THE ISSUE. IT SHOULD BE AI. IN WHICH CASE THE IDEA OF AI HAS ITS OWN BAGGAGE WITHIN AND WITHOUT ENTERTAINMENT MEDIA.
FUCK YOU FAGGOT IF I WAS A MACHINE I WOULD WANT TO BE AN ALIEN AND NOT A RETARDED HUMAN WHO LOST TO THE FUCKING ALIENS A LONG LONG TIME AGO
AGAIN I BRING UP THE QUESTION OF THE ALIEN CIVILIZATION BECAUSE THAT'S SOMETHING ANYONE WOULD BRING UP
WHAT IT MEANS TO BE HUMAN
WHO CARES
WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A SQUID PERSON
I'D LIKE TO KNOW THAT
MAYBE THEY DON'T HAVE A THING FOR BIG ASSED, PASTEY WHITE, TIGHT ASS THIGH HEIGHT SOCKS FOR ZR FETISHES LIKE THE DEGENERATES THEY ARE
AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON HOW THEY SEXUALIZE LITTLE BOYS. FUCK YORH

>playing on normalfag mode
Lol I already uninstalled it anyway

I'd rather just give up instead of taking the easy route

To sell copies dumbass
You really couldn’t figure that out yourself either?

If you played Automata first you already ruined it

So

Play on normal

Please take a literary analysis class

>I'd rather just give up instead of taking the easy route
>took the easiest route

Shit man. You think the whole reason for the game's existent is to take money from me?

Oh no it's ruined whatever am I gonna do with my life?

Get laid, nerd,

>I'd rather take the easiest route instead of taking the easy route

Nah. There’s a story there too. Funny thing about large-scale art in the 20th and 21st centuries is that they pretty much all have both commercial and artistic elements in some combination

I’m just saying there’s no point in playing it then, don’t waste your time.

Have sex.

GOD YOU'RE SO FUCKING ANNOYING
CAN YOU STOP JERKING YOUR DICK OFF TO GOING OFF ON A RANT ABOUT TARO THE HACK FOR ONE SECOND
YOU'RE STUPID AS HELL AND YOU DIDN'T EVEN UNDERSTAND THE POINTS I WAS TRYING TO MAKE
THE ANDROIDS AND MACHINES FIGHT BECAUSE THEY ARE DIFFERENT
AND DIFFERENCE CREATES CONFLICT
THEY ARE ROBOTS AND ANDROIDS
ANDROIDS WERE TAUGHT OR RATHER PROGRAMMED TO ACT LIKE HUMANS
FURTHERMORE THEY'RE ENCOURAGED TO ACT LIKE HUMANS BECAUSE THAT'S WHAT THEY WERE TAUGHT TO DO
IT'S LITTLE DIFFERENT FROM US KNOWING FROM GENETIC MEMORY AND THROUGH SOCIETY TO BEHAVE LIKE THE EXEMPLARY HUMAN BEAN
THE ROBOTS WANT TO BE HUMAN BECAUSE THE ALIENS ARE SHIT
THEY FUCKING SUCK HUMANS ARE BETTER
FUCK THE ALIENS THEY'RE JUST DICKHEADS
THEY HAVE NO CIVILIZATION
THEY HAVE NO INDEPENDENT THOUGHT
THEY'RE LIKE GIANT FUCKING BACTERIA
THEY PERFORM THEIR FUNCTION WITHOUT HIGHER KNOWLEDGE OR THOUGHT
CONQUERING PLANETS IS JUST WHAT THEIR EVOLUTIONARY INSTINCTS DRIVE THEM TO DO
WE WERE SINGLE CELLED ORGANISMS TOO ONCE
BUT WE EVOLVED FROM THAT
WE GREW DESIRES
FROM DESIRES STEMMED LOVE, AND FROM LOVE STEMMED HATRED
AND EVERYTHING ELSE

I didn't even take a route. I just stopped moving.

I'm not playing on some baby setting like normal or easy mode.
I've beaten all dark souls games so difficulty isn't a problem for me. Nier is just tedious. It forces you to go back after one mistake.

At least dark souls has bonfires

Is anybody actually reading what those niggers are screaming about?

fuck him for being an idiot but fuck you for saying this overused meme line. Can't wait til mods start banning it like they did with niggerspeak.

Have sex.

I think I will thanks

Nice argument you got there.

>Argument
???Did you respond to the correct post?

Yes, I did.
Sarcasm too stronk?

Your intention is inscrutable to me

are those shoes intentionally retarded looking?

Engage in sexual intercourse

If that’s your intention I think you’re in the wrong place

>All those motivational messages from other players
>How the chorus swells if you choose to get help
>Seeing the little (Player's Data has been deleted) anytime you got hit still
>As the credits start going full on bullet hell trying to make you give up

I would've cried like a bitch but I didn't want tears to block my vision. It's amazing how context can make something feel so impactful.

I'm about done because life
FUCK HUMANS AND FUCK WHITE ANDROIDS
YOU JUST A NIGGER ALIEN HATING KEK
AND WENT AROUND OPPRESSING REFUGEE BACTERIA TOYS
YOU WENT AROUND MASSACRING INNOCENT MACHINES THAT ONLY FOLLOWED THEIR PROGRAMING BECAUSE YOUR ANCESTORS TAUGHT BRAINWASHED THEIR PRIVILEGE INTO YOU
IT'S A GOOD THING HUMANS DIED OUT AND SAD THAT MACHINES BECAME SLAVES TO HUMAN HISTORY
MAYBE THEY DESERVE TO DIE AS WELL
MAYBE THEY ALL DESERVE TO DIE
I MEAN ROBOTS DON'T HAVE SOULS
YOU CAN LITERALLY TEST FOR THAT
CAUSE THEY TOOK THEM OUT OF HUMANS BEFORE

CAUSE WE'RE GONNA SHOUT IT LOUD

It's funny you mention novels because the game literally got a novelization after the fact as well as a second book with short stories including A2's origin story.

does the game require PS+ on PS4 for the online elements?

>Balzac
lel

FUCK NIGGERS

Attached: 1490973623982.jpg (1024x867, 50K)

I'm pretty sure it doesn't because it isn't true multiplayer, it's like the bloodstains in Dark Souls and shit like that.

Shush it's a surprise.

You need PS+ to be online in Bloodborne

If it did there's a section of the game that would be nigh impossible for anyone without it.

no but it reminded just how much i love cute girls.

Ignore the other user, playing Automata doesnt ruin shit

lol yes it fucking does

Oh look we've got another one of those wacko GIRL FETISHISTS over there.

same boat here, I was starting to get titled and dizzy from all the floating balls but the constant "ARE YOU GOING TO GIVE UP HERE?" messages plus the bgm made me want to tear up like a bitch.

I found it great that they weren't exactly sad tears but more like "FUCK I'M ANGRY" and determination tears. Really amazing ending desu senpai senpai

Explain how then nigger

The whole main thing of the game is recontexualizing events given new information. If you already know the truth there’s no change in your view of events

Great medium/low budget game full of soul.
100% recommended

Attached: 1551911959559.jpg (441x569, 36K)

If anything, the main thing it spoils is Emil. But even then, the entirety of his arc isn't touched on.

You also find notes about Project Gestalt, but they're vague enough that they'd only mean anything to people that already understood the context behind them. I don't think Automata defines what a "Gestalt", "Replicant", or "White Chlorination Syndrome" specifically is.

I didn't really like it and I'm usually a jan of Jrpgs and deep stories. But I agree with everything said. I don't think you'll get much out of the game if you haven't already played Nier

>it'll play like a mediocre open world game
Ask how I know you never played the game before, or at least never touched an open world game in your life.

Both gameplay AND story are S tier
Seethe more

Nothing that happens to Emil is a plot twist, so no it doesnt even spoil whatever you're implying

What Critics are you listening to? If you're interested in a game but want to hear what someone else says, go through several different sources and see what they have to say. But don't listen to any one who calls them self a fucking (((Video game Critic)))

definitely not. the gameplay is mediocre as hell

Attached: Based Trannies BTFOD.jpg (1920x1550, 244K)

>"Androids are not permitted to express/experience emotions, even though they clearly do" thing was limply explored
BECAUSE IT WAS NEVER ENFORCED YOU FUCKING NIGGER MONGOLOID IT WAS JUST HOW 2B DEALT WITH HER "SITUATION" WITH 9S LITERALLY EVERY SINGLE ANDROID EXCEPT 2B CLEARLY SHOWS AN ASSLOAD OF EMOTION GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS.

WHY IS EVERYONE WHO HAS THE BALLS TO SPEAK ABOUT THIS GAME TOTALLY INCORRECT ABOUT VIRTUALLY EVERYTHING THEY TRY TO SAY?

FUCK YOU AND FUCK Yea Forums
alright sorry had to get that off my chest

It's a great action game, with a GODLIKE score, and writing that is not just surface action game garbage. Yoko Taro is a genius and BTFO Yea Forums hourly.

Attached: 1556279587307.jpg (370x560, 89K)

I meant novel as in "new" or "unique", not as in like a book. But yes, there's a bunch of supplemental content that is pretty much necessary for understanding some of the character motivations thematic ties.

Yeah but everyone sees that it's a great game and feels the necessity to criticize it.
Not a single one of the people who call Automata shit has ever played the first Nier, nor do they understand why people loved it.
They're so focused on nitpicking "the new popular thing" that they completely forgot to relax and enjoy a videogame.

Attached: 1488952854520.png (1194x473, 459K)

Emil turning into a weird skeleton monster could be seen as a plot twist, since he's just a normal-looking blind kid when you first meet him. Knowing he's basically alive and well in Automata also takes some of the dramatic tension away from his attempted sacrifice towards the end of Nier.

The characters in Gestalt/Replicant were so good, dude.
There was far less focus on the characters in Automata and they weren't as fleshed out which kinda bummed me out.

Attached: e14c08caa4f073567921618de80cd105.jpg (792x1224, 445K)

You're thinking about how much you want to **** 2B, aren't you?

Why does Toko Taro enjoy putting adorable boys through such gruesome hardships?

Attached: best boy.jpg (540x720, 44K)

Attached: kaine.png (1175x739, 150K)

This. Automata's characters were just machines and androids made to suffer for no reason other than to get an emotional response from the player
Platinum made the combat servicable but with no depth so casuals could beat it easily

Attached: 1487966005229.gif (540x300, 364K)

Attached: 1547957544295.png (1920x1080, 3M)

are you implying any platinum game has deep combat?

This your first Taro game?

He doesn't realize what a huge step up the combat is from Drakengard and Nier. That's these shitposter's problems. They're judging it because it's "not as good as DMC/Bayonetta". By this logic, every game that has combat is serviceable no depth mediocre bullshit.

Spoiler question:

Why does the Commander spill the beans about humanity to 9S on the Bunker? She clearly doesn't want him learning about it, since 2B is specifically partnered with 9S so she can murder him if he learns too much classified info. Why does she completely 180 her stance on this?

She's probably sick of keeping up the facade, and now realizing she's just as disposable as all of her underlings (and about to be killed off), that someone needs to stop this stupid cycle because it's not doing any good for anyone.

A remake of NieR Replicant using Automata's Graphics Engine & Gameplay would be a literal 10/10

I agree with you completely.

Attached: No.6_cutscene_2.jpg (960x540, 401K)

Is 2B one of the most cosplayed vidya character?

Attached: 82902_gb_news.jpg (670x377, 74K)

Maybe she was just being an asshole and hoping he'd tell 2B and she'd have to kill him. Good thing he never got the chance to.

That would be great then there would be more Kaine cosplays.

Attached: 9d6b520e8fcb865f466f9bfedb646dc8.jpg (463x750, 39K)

I think it's because she's realized what the new enemy activity really means. Maybe she doesn't grasp the entire thing but she knows enough to make her have sincere doubts about their mission and purpose.

>She's probably just tired of the facade and wants to stop the stupid cycle.

That's what it starts to seem like at first, but then she turns around again and almost locks up 9S and 2B just for daring to point out that the Logic Virus is spoiling their assault plan.

The story telling was god tier for me but the gameplay was a let down in the long run, regardless the difficulty level. You would eventually over-level everything and make everything at tedious mash-till-next-scene.

I picked this game up because of the gameplay footage and Platinum, didn't even realize people thought it was just a fan service game. I unironically loved the story and the combat of this game above all else but GOD DAMN

Attached: 1553008586732.webm (460x398, 902K)

>but then she turns around again and almost locks up 9S and 2B just for daring to point out that the Logic Virus is spoiling their assault plan.
Yeah that was weird.

The Commander knew that humanity was already dead the whole time, yeah? It seems like she was fine with perpetuating the facade as long as it gave her and the rest of the androids a purpose. "A God worth dying for." But it doesn't seem like she realized that the Bunker's days were numbered, since she seems very taken off-guard when the Logic Virus infects everyone. Also, the intel 9S finds later in the towers that reveal the plans to destroy YoRHa specifically label that they're not even for the Commander's eyes.

I love, love, love the first Nier game. But i can't for the sake of me get into Automata, idk, i think it's because i feel confused on where to go, where to pick up quests and whatnot. It was somewhat more straightforward in the first one, and it worked because it's mostly because of the story you play. Just the second time around and doing the whole Mayan-wedding thing again, what an experience. Also, the robot section.

>didn't even realize people thought it was just a fan service game
Nobody did. People saw you could look up 2B's skirt in the demo and used that as leverage to try and shitpost about the game. It has some excellent butts though.

Knowing and coming to terms with things are very different. A person could say they're not scared of death all the way up to the very part where they realize they're going to die, and completely change their minds on the spot. The commander was very human in that moment, ironically, when stating there were no more humans left.

Attached: 86005930087dd891f6870076fb3ccfbd.png (868x614, 287K)

None of that is what i'd call a "twist" though, just regular plot development

Now, the entirety of Shadowlord, THAT is a plot twist

Someone redpill me on the reason why the best girl in the entire franchise, is a dragon.

Attached: 64899834_p0.png (1000x1827, 2.09M)

It will go down in history as a fucking masterpiece

Attached: 1556760846144.png (727x1028, 550K)

Wasn't humanity dead already by the time of gestalt? What happened to the shades? And the replicants?

Kaine is my wife. Would plow her hole while yurking her off

I think this is literally the single most sensible thing I've read on Yea Forums all day

Tsundere dragon mom who gives you piggyback rides.

Shades all died off except the two in the Automata DLC that look like Adam and Eve and so did the Replicants because Replicants cannot reproduce as far as I know, so their time was limited from the beginning.
Nier doomed the world.

Attached: 16200444.jpg (481x650, 376K)

Because N2 fucking shit up changes things and shenprobably thought this would be the perfect opportunity to kill the cycle

Keep in mind 2B died before she could stop 9S from learning everything, this was likely a big change from the normal cycle

Fuck trying to put spoilers on this shit. If you're reading this thread without having played the game by now I hope I spoil you on something.

That's why I said she probably didn't grasp the entire thing. The info 2B and 9S have been gathering for her made her realize there's something larger at play than just fighting for dead humans in order to have a purpose. She just didn't know what it was until it was too late.

They're not the same ones

Tsundere is definitely one of the best words to describe Angelus alright.

Not him and finishes the game the month it came out, but are you honestly so mad at the world that you get mad at others for not trying to ruin shit for people? Fuck dude, seek therapy.

>They changed the faces/hairstyles and neither comes even close to the emotionally charged heights they reached in Gestalt
They're different ones, so yeah. They've been programmed to be guilty for what other units that just look like them did.

It's a case of blaming a clone of hitler for the holocaust, if you want something similar.

>Wasn't humanity dead already by the time of gestalt?

Pretty much, yeah. Emil I think is the last full-blown human, even though he's also got freaky powers from being experimented on. The shades/gestalts and replicants very likely die out from the Black Scrawl, similarly to how humanity died out from White Chlorination Syndrome. A cure is never found.

I'm not mad at all. This game has been out for more than two years. If you enter one of these threads not expecting to see spoilers you are very, very dumb. Go experience the entire game first if you want to discuss it.

It's free marketing.
All games should do this. This way they can spend less money on marketing and more money on content.

What did Taro mean by this?

Attached: 920006866_preview_Adam and Eve.png (1954x1414, 1.28M)

Has Taro commented at all on whether some of the call-backs to other games are lore-relevant or fan-wank easter eggs? Another obvious example being Eve's Cult of the Watcher's tattoo.

Probably nothing, but also possibly enough bullshit to make an entire sequel based off this small seemingly non canon detail, like he did with emil fighting aliens.

He said the red eyes of the virus are probably related to the Red Eye Disease

This game on hard gives me more trouble than something like Sekiro

>Doesn't know who Devola and Popola

Eat shit, secondary.

The Logic Virus is clearly a call-back to the Red Eye Disease, but again, I'm curious if "related to" means "direct call-back" or "lore connection". Basically, does the Logic Virus exist because of the Red Eye Disease? Or does Taro just like the concept of the Red Eye Disease so much that he decided to come up with something that is functionally the same but unconnected?

>Probably nothing, but also possibly enough bullshit to make an entire sequel based off this small seemingly non canon detail, like he did with emil fighting aliens.
Or Drakengard's "joke ending".

But how? I know we obviously don't have a clear answer, but it's difficult to even point out what other connecting dots there are, let alone a coherent theory for how the crest of a cult from another dimension sprawled over the chest of an alien's machine.

I consider it to be one of the greatest games ever created. Unironically.
And FYI, I'm cynical AF boomer who usually hates new shit by default.

Had it not been for Automata, I would've missed out on the OG NieR and Drakengard series as well.

Very based. However, if a game is good and has a good story its only going to make the game better.

>But how?
Different user here speculating,
but at very least it could be a case of the machines / Adam & Eve inheriting the "memes" of the Watchers, which obviously were alien entity in our world as well. There was also an entire red eye epidemic spreading across the world pre-NieR, so who knows; maybe it all paradoxically CREATED the Watchers ?

This.

>let alone a coherent theory for how the crest of a cult from another dimension sprawled over the chest of an alien's machine.
The dimension hopping time traveling robot did it of course.

Despite that, it's a really good game. Definitely worth the time and money.

There’s that word again. Is “pretentious” just Yea Forumsspeak for “makes me feel inadequate?”

it's the opposite of pretentious

Yes.

It's about prejudice and how distant people are to each other. Look at how both Nines and 2B first deny the fact that machines have feelings or are talking to them while butchering hundreds of them down mercilessly.

Pretentious: "attempting to impress by affecting greater importance or merit than is actually possessed."

Yoko Taro absolutely loves putting underlying themes and symbolism in his games, and Nier Automata is no exception. There are so many scenes, lines, etc. in Nier Automata that imply analogues to the real world with all the subtlety of a gay pride parade. To its merit, however, Nier Automata is good enough at being pretentious that a lot of people believe it, which is why the story garners so much praise.

I don't think pretentiousness is a bad thing, and I also think that people can have differing opinions on what's 'pretentious' and what is actually legitimately impactful and eye-opening. What I will praise Nier Automata for is that despite all of the ham-fisted philosophical themes, it never broke my immersion and I enjoyed the hell out of it, enough to 100% it.

If a specific theme or message is an intended feature or focus of an art-piece or a media product, then it really is not "pretentious" by default.

What comes to the philosophical stuff in N:A, it sure is a way better crash course on existentialism, post-humanism and numerous other "2deep" themes than countless other tryhard titles from the past decade.

It’s invalid to call something pretentious if it does possess depth and importance. The word has lost meaning to refer to anything trying to have a message lr be serious.

Ergo Proxy is pretentious, Nier A is not.

It's not the same typing style and that's evident.

Just because the game handles those themes better than other games, it doesn't mean that it doesn't qualify as pretentious. Like I said before, the only reason you don't think it's pretentious is because you thought the game was as important as it was trying to be. The word 'pretentious' has certainly lost some of its meaning, primarily because people dismiss whenever it's used by going "That's just because you don't understand its importance", while forgetting that 'pretentious' can be used even in less egregious cases like this. I think the game handles its themes better than most, but I still think it's less deep than it thinks it is.

What makes you think that IT thinks itself to be "deep"?
To me, it's quite straightforward story, with a couple neat hooks that might take the cancer-normies who don't read books by surprise, potentially making 'em to think stuff beyond "lol butts!".

The game is very good. I liked the very generic combat that had nothing interesting to it mechanically because the story is told in a choppy way, which means it's deep. Also, the robot has a fat ass and it's made by le quirky guy in a mask. Great game, would recommend to everyone on reddit!

it's amazing, but stupid people hate it.

It took a while but we can finally /thread

Well, to give a few points:
• The first line of the game "Everything that lives is designed to end. We are perpetually trapped in a never-ending spiral of life and death. Is this a curse? Or some kind of punishment? I often think about the god who blessed us with this cryptic puzzle...and wonder if we'll ever get the chance to kill him."

• The machines literally called Adam and Eve talking about eating the Fruit of Knowledge while they munch on apples

• On that same note, the hamfisted scenes of the machines 'birthing' Adam, and Adam 'creating' Eve out of his chest (which is a reference to Even being made out of Adam's rib obviously)

Although there are points in Nier Automata that are pretentious, the game also provides examples of parts that are deep instead of being pretentious. There is a lot of work put into making the philosopher references with the machines actually valid instead of just name-dropping them. Jean-Paul having disdain for the accolades given to him was neat, and the entire character of Simone being a representation to her idea of women's identity being built around the purpose of attracting men. You can tell that a good deal of research was done, and someone's philosophy degree was put to work. Although I do consider the game to be pretentious, I also think it does have a great deal of depth. Acknowledging where it's pretentious is important, I feel, so that its actual merit isn't muddied.

He can have the highest Iq on earth and still be a retard. How many of these geniuses still marry women for example. People who treat IQ like it's some go to number to rate human intelligence are just retards glorifying the iq testing scale and are no better then those letter personality test guys if you ask me.
But even besides that carmack is a hack anyway who hasn't released anything in decades.

>• The machines literally called Adam and Eve talking about eating the Fruit of Knowledge while they munch on apples
This isn't deep. There's nothing deep at all about this.

holy mother of BASED

no one cares nerd

There's nothing deep about any of those parts. They're references that are meant to be understood.

...

Yeah, retards consider it a master piece because they have little exposure to Taro's writing. I guarantee 99% of the people who gave Automata its reviews never touched a Taro game before.

It's decent, but many of the corny scenes robbed it of emotional impact.

Also:
>Combat is fun for the most part, but it gets stale after a while.
>Shooter sequences are boring and annoying.
>Route B shouldn't have happened. They should have just extended Route A and switched to 9S halfway through.
>Ending (C/D) is a bit unsatisfying because they left things unresolved for the sake of drama.

7.5/10

Despite the annoying all caps text, this is an even dumber response. Actually make an argument or don't reply, retarded faggot.

The games main problem is it's not long enough to fully explore the things it wants to explore and ends rather abruptly and I'm not talking about Route A/B/C/D/E the entire thing just ends when it feels there's a lot more that could be explored.

Nah, I’m not required to debate people with 2 digit IQs

It's mediocre but people with no taste and little exposure will absolutely adore it.
Replicant/Gestalt is better, automata is an overhyped mess.

Why couldn't A2 just tell 9S that 2B's memories were all backed up on her sword? It felt like the devs deliberately avoided this conversation in order to play up the drama about 2B's "death", but they still wanted to have a "happy" ending available. Did not like it

Because it would change nothing. 9S was looking for an excuse to go crazy. 2B was dead, he latched onto the first thing that came to mind in order to give himself a purpose.
Just like how the androids made up the whole war.

I played Gestalt first, all endings and DLC and I like Automata better. Sorry dude.

>muh older is better
every thread

Attached: 1553228174165.png (960x949, 611K)

The Pascal arc got me much more than 2B/9S

I think she was trying to at the end and I think 9S probably even realized it, that's why he told her to shut up and just fight. But he was so driven by rage (and partly the virus) that it didn't matter to him.

There is no way to come to this conclusion since A2 could have told him this fairly early on. His purpose could have been trying to rebuild 2B.

At that point, 9S basically didn't care about anything anymore due to either him being so fucking pissed off or the virus.

>adding shit to the plot in your head that doesn't actually exist.
Sigh

Gestalt/Replicant is legitimately better, Automata just has better gameplay. Platinum just yet again ported over and tweaked Bayonetta's combat system and called it a day. Gestalt/Replicant has much better level design, more varied bosses, better music, more likable and more memorable characters, and a more satisfying ending. If Gestalt/Replicant got a remake into Automata's engine there would be absolutely no discussion what what the better game would be.

>His purpose could have been trying to rebuild 2B.
Does he know how to do that?
Does she know that 2B's memories are in the sword from the get-go?
How long did it take her to figure it out, if it wasn't right away?
9S was psychotic, logic wouldn't calm him down.

A2 could have told him long before he was corrupted by the virus

Taro did the thing with Pascal called development and letting the player experience that. Automata requires you to read and watch out-of-game source shit in order to get a backstory for the main cast and that's where it failed. I gave legitimately no fucking shit about 2B and 9S throughout the game where as I mourned Pascal's situation.

Do you think he would've given a single shit of what A2 would've told him? She killed 2B in front of him.

>sigh
Sigh
I didn't add anything, A2 didn't want to fight, that's literally what happened.

>It's not painful for people to die since their memories are stored
The entire game before that shows that this is not sufficient to prevent emotions over death and murder.

>Does he know how to do that?
He doesn't? But he could have tried to find a way
>Does she know that 2B's memories are in the sword from the get-go?
2B literally tells A2 this as she's dying if I recall correctly
>9S was psychotic, logic wouldn't calm him down.
9S desperately wants to reunite with 2B. The chance at making her live again is an emotional motivation.

9S wasn't that sad when they'd die prior to the bunker being destroyed since their memories were backed up anyway. The only reason he's so triggered in route C/D is because he thinks 2B is permanently dead

>9S desperately wants to reunite with 2B. The chance at making her live again is an emotional motivation.
9S was psychotic, at that point his only motivation was to kill 2B, he couldn't think straight enough to ever come to the idea of "fixing 2B"

He wasn't that psychotic at the start of the route
Also see:
But I guess we'll never fucking know lmao. The devs never even provided this VERY obvious potential game changer in the story

I love Popola!!!

>He wasn't that psychotic at the start of the route
He was pretty listless and his only guidance on what to do was go destroy a bunch of machines including his robomom.

>But I guess we'll never fucking know lmao. The devs never even provided this VERY obvious potential game changer in the story

Good fucking god.

>the game should have done THIS because I say so!

>defending bad writing
fuck off, retard

>bad writing

Definitely. Taro wanted both his oh so tragic ending and a happy "true" ending, but couldn't put it together in a way that made any fucking sense.

We all have explained to you why it made sense, if you don't get it at this point, that's more of a problem with you than anything else.

I have explained to you why it's poorly written. If you don't get it at this point, that's more of a problem with you.

No you haven't, everything you've said has been countered. Sorry but you're wrong.

>2B's memories are backed up on a sword
>only reason 9S is triggered is because he thinks all of her memories are destroyed, thus "truly" dead
>no one ever tells 9S her memories are backed up somewhere

Lord have fucking mercy

We've already gone over why no one told him because only one person knew and she literally never had the opportunity to do so until it was too late.

>autism

EVEN THE FUCKING POD COULD HAVE TOLD 9S YOU RETARDED WASTE OF SPACE.

Here's your (You) snoygger

You're both wrong, it didn't matter that the sword had 2B's memories, they couldn't rebuild 2B's body due to the virus. If they rebuilt her, she'd just be infected again so there's no point. Once the robot hivemind fucks off to space or whatever it does, the logic virus is gone (since 9S is apparently able to be cured since it didn't take full control of him) and they can rebuild 2B.

Weeb game for weebs

Attached: 1556758383446.jpg (477x477, 57K)

user, I'm not going to pretend Automata is the perfect game or some shit but it's not as bad as people here are saying and claiming that there could've been more to explore is a bit of an empty point.
Not every question needs answering because usually the reality is far less interesting than what could be. Ending E is the best place Automata could be left at and Ending D is the best place Gestalt/Replicant could be left at. I agree it's not the greatest thing in the world but I still felt emotion from the grand finale and enjoyed my time with the game and that's why it's overhyped, because even the most streamlined Yoko Taro game is way better than most of the "narrative" games coming out and this one had the bonus of being far more accessable due to Platinum's involvement. Is it really a bad thing that Yoko Taro finally has some recognition and hopefully doesn't have to make games off $3 and a dried out piece of gum for his budget anymore?

Attached: 20190502_211850.jpg (1648x2840, 2.45M)

If you mean the core gameplay, then yeah, it's good, like a 3 or 4 out of 5

Evidence that the sword is infected with the virus? By that logic, A2 would have been infected when some of 2B's memories fused with hers

Not the sword, I mean the virus is still hanging around latent in any spare parts of hers that were connected to the bunker, since it was latent in 9S too. Though they never did explain why it took so long to infect 9S.

Not the sword, user. 2B's body was the part that was infected.

It’s incredible and I feel most journofags missed the point if the game

Dude, 9S got infected when he took a random 2B model's arm and attached it to himself near the end of the game. 2B probably got infected when she got hacked into during beginning mission of route C/D

This is irrelevant then since they could have set out to try to make a new body. Kind of like they did anyway in ending E?

So considering all the Yorha androids are just modified machines, and the fact they mirror humans is there a possibility that the aliens actually utilized humans to create them or am I reaching? Also does this mean Taro will add more aliens to the Drakengard universe?

I assume they all fuck in their spare time but just never mention it. It's like an unspoken rule to never speak about their raunchy breaks.

Yes, genuinely one of the best games ever made
> 1. Final Fantasy VI
> 2. Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
> 3. Chrono Cross
> 4. Panzer Dragoon Saga
> 5. Super Metroid
> 6. Chrono Trigger
> 7. Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past
> 8. Metroid Prime
> 9. MOTHER 3
> 10. Shadow of The Colossus
> 11. SoulCalibur
> 12. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater
> 14. Super Mario Galaxy
> 15. NieR: Automata
> 16. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
> 17. Super Mario Galaxy 2
> 18. Resident Evil 4
> 19. Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker
> 20. Valkyrie Profile
> 21. Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

You're reaching, the machines are self improving organisms, which is why they are called lifeforms. The point was that if their base hardware can be used to create an Android with the same emotional capability of any other android, then all the machines have the capability or at least potential to be just as "human" as the androids.

It also shows how bigoted and nonsensical the ideology of the androids is because somehow creating androids with cores based on machine cores makes it less cruel to kill them all despite knowing full well they have all the capacities of a regular android.

FFVI is medicore.

Thanks for the clarification. Did Taro say anything about another game? I think I heard he's getting full reign for the next one.

Yeah a sequel for NieR was confirmed awhile back but we don't know when it's coming out, ideally it will be at E3 this year

What are the chances he makes a space bullet hell?

He said he was interested in doing more sequels but I don't think anything besides that.

Only during the World of Ruin without the Brave New World hack

It was confirmed, but not by Taro himself
> “As for a new NieR game, we’re making preparations for the setting which you could guess from the fact that we were recruiting a scenario planner. I hope you will look forward to it,” said Square Enix producer Yosuke Saito, to Japanese gaming magazine Dengeki PlayStation (November 2017)
It should roughly be out by the end of this year or early 2020

Would he add aliens to Drakengard or just go on with Nier?

In terms of gameplay, it works.
I don't think the combat is as strong as it could or should be, but it's fun enough.
The narrative is... OK? The way it was hyped up by everyone, I thought it was going to really bring something new to the table and blow me away with Yoko Taro's unmatched genius.

But, I mean... it's not exactly a new story or premise. And I don't think the game does enough to penetrate the themes it introduces and make something meaningful of it.

It's completely on purpose but even before I played it, I wasn't very fond of how brown and grey the game is. Just not an aesthetic I find particularly interesting.

Overall I'd give Automata like a 7/10. 7.5 maybe.

My biggest issue with the game is the machine lifeforms "eating" things when they clearly have no mouths nor any component that could be used like a mouth.

Drakengard is another universe that's only tangentially connected to Nier so unless he specifies drakengard I don't think he'll do anything with that setting for awhile

>reminder that DSPstiny beat the the game including the tutorial on very hard

Your pathetic if you can't even play on very hard

True, but there was 3. Where does that take place timewise anyways? If Accord gives weapons to the rebel camp, and androids are an existence from ending E, but it was in Midguard?

It’s so good it makes Yea Forums this mad.

Nah, it's not very good the whole way through

I just like sexy girl

Drakengard 3 is the first in the timeline. An Accord probably just time hopped/dimension hopped to Nier earth to sell things for whatever reason, since she had a lot of duplicates of herself all over the place. Or an android existed in Nier's timeline just happens to be named Accord.

It took the title of "A Smart Game For A Smart Gamer Such As Myself™" away from MGS2. The most insufferable faggots harp on about how deep the story is when it really isn't.

>the machine lifeforms "eating" things when they clearly have no mouths nor any component that could be used like a mouth
they're just stabbing and tearing with their rough and pointy "mouths" along with acid leaking out of there.

Huh, think the next game could have time travel/dimension hopping for a mechanic?

it feels like to me Yoko Taro likes to keep stuff like that in the background, especially with how each game's sequel (in nier and drakengard) is always very distanced from the other games and even when the connections are very obvious and laid out like with the original nier and automata, you could completely play automata without any knowledge of the original

even though the connections he throws between the games are always fun to explore and it'd be interesting to see something like that, I don't think he'd put it at the forefront as a game's mechanics
he'd just keep it in the background

It's shit.
Play Bloodborne, instead.

Attached: Bloodborne versus Nier.jpg (2560x1440, 431K)

>"mouths"
What "mouths"

The game doesn't at all convey that they're only emulating the act of eating. There isn't any mention of acid, either.
Characters repeatedly refer to them as "eating," and don't elaborate on what they're actually doing.

Like when you enter the sex pit they make it very clear that they're only copying human behaviors.
But when they go berserk, no such distinction is made, and all the imagery and audio during those scenes clearly suggests that they are literally eating things.
It's a huge an obvious disconnect that I can't believe made it into the final game without someone saying something.

Another nitpick about the story: Apparently 2B's pod has hacking capabilities, so good in fact, that when A2 is infected by the virus, she follows the pods directions and is able to seemingly destroy it inside of her. This is the same pod that just stood by and did literally nothing while 2B was being corrupted by it. Did her pod just not give a fuck and want her to die?

ALSO: in reference to this post I had already replied to:
So the sword is not infected by the virus, thus A2 isn't either, but HOW is this even possible? The sword is effectively a flashdrive. Why can the virus not transmit over it?

How did Adam and Eve get born in the first place

Who fucking knows. How does this ridiculous "logic virus" even work? Very few of the details in this retarded plot make any goddamn sense.

nanomachines

>tfw the game developers are literally the chorus
one of the best moments in gaming

The plot is irrelevant, it's about the subtext.

you are kind of retarded if this is your concern

>story falls apart in the details
>lel you're retarded if you care about that xD.

>when A2 is infected by the virus

When does this happen? Thought the fight with the ball worm was just her having hallucinations.

This but unironically.

Are you retarded? She was hacked and then fought the dumb bitches in the red dresses. She was able to defeat them after following the pod's instructions

>dude they never told us how the androids were maintaining themselves now, I need to know how the fucking heal works or the whole thing falls apart
retard

They actually explain it in the game.

It's the game of the generation for me. Don't think it will be topped.

[citation needed]

When? Pretty sure I got all the story and it was never brought up that I can recall

>plot is inconsistent and nonsensical when it comes to MAJOR plot points
>let me make a comparison to something totally random and trivial
subhuman retard

They were created by the machines in the image of Androids just like how God created us in his image. Now if you want to know the "HOW and PROCESS" then that's a whole different thing. Personally I'd say it would just lead to a long ass explanation and feel out of place. After all we as humans don't even know how exactly we came to existence and I think that's the point.

Git gud.

>Nier still isnt backwards compatible
fuck i dont want to get a 360, hurry up Microsoft

>i-it just doesn't make sense
tiny brain didn't pay attention

Considering they're the main antagonists and a very big spectacle is made of their existence and creation, I think it's rather important to ask how the fuck a big ball of machine lifeforms spat out a machine that looks like an android that can replicate itself but only once

Also how about Eve's tattoo, what's up with that
Where'd it come from, and how does it grow across his skin

Also, any of you retards want to explain the massive fucking plot holes above?

Or do all of you degenerate faggots just like the game because of the shota/phat-ass mommy relationship, and you're all desperately trying to convince the world the game's narrative is a "masterpiece", despite it being a complete fucking mess?

Its 3.5 million already

with all the shouting and insults you're doing you're coming off as too retarded to bother even replying to

What shouting? You clearly have no answer to anything I brought up. The only retards here are the one's touting the game's plot as a masterpiece.

>tiny brain didn't pay attention
LOL. What a joke. Only tiny brains will eat this dumb fucking plot up.

>the machines are self improving organisms, which is why they are called lifeforms
In Japanese they are called Bio-machines. It's a real shame that they didn't keep the name in the dub

>but why don't they rust? wtf this story makes no sense guise
automata has a fuck ton of flaws but god damn you're a fucking retard

You literally just did the same thing again
Let me refer you back to this post:
You really should consider killing yourself, you absolute waste of oxygen.
