How the Switch version runs and looks better than the PS4 Version even on handheld mode? This is insane.
Tell me more.
I love the game and would maybe buy it again.
Don't they let you switch jobs now?
probably because the PC, XO, PS4 port of FF12 was handled by complete retards and ran like shit even on the highest specced gamuh PC, the switch port was probably given to another studio.
Source? Just curious, I already have the switch version. Skipped it and DQ11 on PS4 because of the Sony troubles and I'm glad I did now that they're both coming to Switch.
Why are you lying OP?
Oh shit really?
That's actually a bad thing.
The best way to play FF12 is still PS2 emulation of IZJS. And you've been able to do that for over 6 years. Stop paying money for shitty lazy "remakes".
I'm not rebuying any of Square's shit until they find the masters for FFVIII.
And that's a good thing!
There are different licences boards and you initially select one for each character (second one after a while) so you can have different combinations and actually use all six characters
I've been considering getting it.
As a kid I didn't like it much but when I tried the international version with a translation patch years later found it much more enjoyable, though I still didn't finish it.
FFXII HD just got a new update on PS4, i wonder if they added job switching.
It was just ported by a different company from the other paltforms it looks better than the PC version too, obviously if that company had ported the PS and PC versions then they would have been even better. Good thing this is one of the worst games in the full series and nobody cares. The original game is also better than the job system version so the best XII experience is to emulate the PS2 version on the PC.
Voice audio still sounds like shit, though.
Really disappointing.
That was in the PS4 version already.
I thought he meant that you could switch jobs after selecting them, which would be the worst thing you could do to the job system in this game.
These seem to be the new things
· License Reset Function: By talking to Clan Centurio's leader Montblanc in Rabanastre, players can reset and change their party member's jobs, allowing them to customize the jobs of their party as desired.
· Additional Gambit Sets: Gambits allow players to customize their party's AI. Players can now create three unique sets, allowing players to switch between sets for different situations, such as map exploration or boss fights.
· Improved 'New Game+': Allows users to start the game with party members at level 90 and carry over some items like weapons, magic and gil obtained during previous playthroughs.
· Specific to Xbox One X -- Supports up to 60fps
>License Reset Function: By talking to Clan Centurio's leader Montblanc in Rabanastre, players can reset and change their party member's jobs, allowing them to customize the jobs of their party as desired.
Jesus christ that sounds horrible.
If it was ever subtitled Zodiac Age, it has job switching
Contrarian Yea Forums opinions truely are the worst
He means being able to switch jobs, not just have jobs in general. Switching jobs is exclusive to switch and xbox currently
Well it's just an option so it can be ignored
>optional features that dont impact gameplay at all are bad :(
>features are bad
Okay cuck.

Literally how?
who cares PC Version is better
Agree. Too bad that it's forced too. Oh wait...
having a mandatory autosave that completely removes any semblance of threat or danger from the game is totally fine but having the option of switching jobs, which requires you to reallocate all of your LP every time you do it, is apparently the worst, sasuga Yea Forums
Still it being an option at all takes away a lot of the impact your choice of job makes.
SE can't seem to help themselves when it comes to making the re-releases of their games more casual and ruining the original game design.
>old man yells at cloud.
I think that was how it was in the original too.
>a ps4 port of a pc port of a ps2 game
I bet you sure are glad you bought into this console generation
the point of adding a job system wasn't to force you to make choices with "impact," it was to make characters feel less homogeneous because they all had the same license board in the original
Dont load the auto save bb, its also optional
A non issue
>Still it being an option at all takes away a lot of the impact your choice of job makes.
As opposed to the original game which you can give everyone everything, immediately break the game.
You're not going to go through all the trouble of completely resetting someone's jobs, reallocating their points, re-equipping them, re-setting up their gambits and probably even more shit every visit to town.
Wait, the Switch version is 1080p docked and 720p undocked? Source, OP.
Is this game worth jumping back into the series? I gave up after 9. Not sure if I outgrew FF or FF outgrew me.
You probably own a Switch, your opinion is absolutely meaningless as your shit taste is already confirmed.
its an offline mmo
Japanese IZJS -version of 12 is great.
Give it a go.
Lol literally who cares. You can get the ps4 version for $15-20. $30 is not worth it for the couple of gameplay improvements, portability and the graphical changes (which I doubt you on)
>all these claims and absolutely no source
Yeahokay
It's pretty polarizing. Only way to know is to try it yourself
Actually it's a based as fuck change. You miss out on like 7 jobs in the ZJS without it, with this you can fuck about with way more freedom.
>>Better performance
>>Sharper picture
>>Better Scaling
Those are all false though
Switch version is locked at 30 FPS same as PS4, so no improvement there.
Switch version is literally locked at 720p even when docked so it's not sharper than PS4 version which is 1080p and 1440p on Pro
What the fuck is even better scaling supposed to mean?
Why is the physical version cheaper than the digital version?
Like, 30% cheaper.
This. Back in the day you either fucking loved it or you hated it and everyone who talked about it.
Yeah, but portable is the definitive way to play a comfy JRPG, and Sony are being niggers at the moment, so I'd gladly get the switch version over the PS4 version
Literally bullshit. It's just another Nintendo fag. This board is full of them.
PS4 version let each of your character have 2 jobs, which was fine in my opinion.
Letting you switch jobs whenever you like kinda makes the job meaningless.
Does the game still look like 1 guy processed all textures through a sharpening filter turned to 11?
The new FFXII and IX ports are a fucking eyesore because of it.
Yes the switch and Xbox let's you change jobs and it's the best thing after gambit sets they could have done.
>a fucking PS2 port
Switch is dead.
Ah, now the player doesn't have to commit to anything and the replayability has become zero.
Depends on how it's implemented, if you can to it on the field, it's stupid and destroys any kind of team planning since you can change between every fight, if you can only do it at a NPCs in cities, it's ok.
>zodiac job system
>unironically liking the original broken, unfinished trash where every character is exactly the same
lol
at least i coould give everyone every weapon that way
Then just fucking play PC version of Zodiac which has a mod that gives you the classic system if you want that "everyone is a literal clone of eachother" trash system.
It's completely different from the rest of the series. There is no telling whether you'll like it or not.
muh classes xDD
They let you reset your license board so if you regret your choice of jobs you can just refund all points and try something different
Pretty good imo, the job board doesn't fully open up until late in the game (getting Belial) and trying out different job combinations required too much commitment
They also added gambit loadouts so that you don't need to redo it every time you need a new strategy
muh clones xDD
ebin
Waiting the for the remaster that ditches the zodiac job system altogether and lets me use the OG license board
sadly itll never come
It's called PC version
>Switch version is literally locked at 720p even when docked
Source? I can't find a confirmation if its 720p or 1080p when docked. Undocked seems to use a dynamic resolution though.
Wait seriously?
I've been here since 2009 or something and I remember that the PS3 shitposting was in full force back then, but it was mostly in good faith. Today we're literally lower than youtube comment section when it comes to consolewars shitposting, do people nowadays actually take it serious? Please tell me it ain't so.
All jrpgs without turn based are offline mmos. That's the point even Western RPGs try to create an illusion it's inhabitants are real
>X/X2
Fucking retard.
If FF10HD (a much worse looking game) can't handle anything more than 720p then you are retarded if you think FF12 would.
>X and X2
Okay, now show me the thread for the game we're talking about.
Yeah even on the pro it's 30 fps and 1440p. 1440p/30fps for a fucking ps2 game. The pro is a piece of shit, but even it should have no sweat 4k/60'ing ps2 ports.
>do people nowadays actually take it serious?
Unfortunately fanboys were hurt by last gen and now they think they're getting back at us by shitting on everything else.
Post above yours.
>no proof
Source at least?
youtube.com
Get fucked
I don't think you understand what "proof" means.
What are the better jobs for each party member? Is there a rule of thumb?
Cool and all but I just replay my ps2 copy, the original not even IZJS. I just put self-limiting archetypes for all the characters, like X character is a dark knight so he's only allowed to use sword/shield, heavy armour and black magic. Another character is a Tinkerer, so they're only allowed to use light armour, guns and techniks.
Recently beat it with all the espers, secret bosses and hunts (sans Yazmat, I did that back in the day, never doing that tedious bullshit again) at like 80~ hours. Was great fun and a genuine challenge. Just have some fucking willpower.
Go away Nintoddler
youtube.com
I WANT FF8 ffs
>don't have to waste hundreds of hours replaying a game just to try different combinations
Oh nooooo
Job switching is absolutely perfectly in line with the Ivalice Alliance games though, as both FFTA and FFTA2 let you switch at any point you want, and everyone had the same license board in the original FFXII, making characters almost identical save for stats and some slight animations. This is nothing but good.
>where every character is exactly the same
You would have to intentionally give everyone the same licenses and equipment for that to be the case.
Did you even watch that video? He plays it entirely in handheld mode and he even says he doesn't know the resolution.
Where's your proof?
Is that stupid “don’t open these chest to get me zodiac spear” garbage still in the game?
Counting pixels and literally just watching it.
Some general rules like Vaan and Basch having high strength.
Stat growth per level is RNG dependent so no. Few will have the same amount of HP at level 99, such as the types who save scum until they get the max amount of HP increase on a level up, 99 times, for every character.
How does that prove your point?
So you're back to square one and you have no proof.
Go play it then
i want it on my switch dow
Oh well.
Whatever, you have to go out of your way and gimp yourself to game over in Zodiac Age, the only thing that the recommended jobs changes is that enemies die faster.
I’m surprised the ps4 version isn’t getting updates.
Gadgeteer works will with caster jobs because guns ignore armor and desu that’s all the job has going for it.
That was fixed
Maybe Sony pissed off Square.
>when Yea Forums literally lies to shill a port of an ancient game
Switch is a meme
Still waiting on that proof.
This is the single greatest vidya purchase I've had in eight years.
Just finished it and gonna go for it again. Hopefully XVI is also Ivalice.
It’s been out like 2 days how did you finish already
Played straight, slept a bit. I just woke up an hour ago. I've played it before so I pretty much knew what to do anyway but the new license thing made it so much better. Figured I'd do most of it on new game+ though.
I doubt it's better than PC
Should I get FFXII or Dragon's Dogma if I mostly just want to play handheld?
>Nintenfags finally get to play FFXII 14 years after release
Enjoy, manchildren. It's pretty good.
you realize like half of the ivalice alliance games have been on nintendo consoles, right?
Sony:
>FFXII: IZJS (PS2)
>FFT: War of the Lions (PSP)
Honorary:
>Vagrant Story (PS2)
Nintendo:
>FFXII: Revenant Wings (DS)
>FFTA2: Grimoire of the Rift (DS)
Honorary:
>FFTA (GBA)
Evenly matched.
DMC, god hand, ace combat, and armored core on switch when?
I will buy your shitty tablet if you give me those
Why would you get either when you can get PC
You're not good at thread reading, are you?
I hate retards who shit on the job system because they dont know anything about it
>original let me be everything in the game! why would i want limitations just to make me worse?
so fucking stupid, it make me MAD GRRR
What's the difference between the PC and Switch versions?
What are you talking about? If there's something in the thread you think is relevant just quote the post.
Why? You can buy them now and not pay $60 for a shittier version.
The PC version literally has all the switch content via mods.
>This is insane
this is the power of lazy devs. bet my balls even they don't know how
Nintendicklet Switchlets are reaching new lows by the day.
pc lets you have nude mods also 60 fps, ultra wide screen, 4k
there are also mods that let you use the orginal board, other characters besides vaan in towns, difficulty rebalancing, complete attribute changes, and also letting you change any party member with litterally in the game
If you want a party with the elder wyrm, gabranth, and a vorpal bunny you can.
you need a switch to play ps2 games?
fuck switch desu the fuck are those prices for games
>pull out/put away weapons animations which forcibly stop movement will constantly be played in both versions
I wish they'd just have their weapons out all the time in the field
I don't like needing a TV, power source etc just to play games.
handheld since fucking SEGA nomad here niggers.
The vita had some great ports but I really want the PS2 capcom, armored core and ace combat and the PS2 GTA's on a portable.
God damn is vice city stories comfy.
get a vita, put a cfw on it and you're set then
>a vita
who do you think you're talking to
>get a vita
Why would you ever do that?
>Some Snoy exec told Nomura he had to cover up one of his characters
>Nomura has now put snoy on his blacklist
Funny thing is I could totally see that happening nowadays
What's so insane is that we're talking about decade old ports like they mater to anyone.
Nintendo thinks their downloads are made of gold.
Which is fucking hilarious because I'd faster trust my Xbox with my digital games than a Nintendo console. Because that's pretty much saying you don't need your digital games in the next generation when Nintendo comes up with a new gimmick console.
Every character just has the same license board, dumbass. That doesn't mean they're exactly the same unless you want them to be, and you can put them under any role and then customize them however you see fit.
The OG license board provided more freedom for party customization whereas the shitty one from IZJS arbitrarily limits everyone in favor of a lame as fuck "job system" that doesn't even alter their appearance or have any effect on the game other than making things restrictive for no fucking reason. You'd have to be an actual retard to defend it.
agito 13 is better than 12, and is better than most modern FF's.
based psp
>agito
???
READY TO GO COUNT ZERO
