>Psyonix bought by Epic >Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben >i.e. nothing really changes >Steamdrones still manages to have a collective shit fit
... And people still wonder why devs are fleeing steam.
>Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben Where
Ethan Gomez
No one is fleeing anything, they are literally getting bought for millions of dollars
Nolan Cooper
They're not going to remove licenses from people who already have it on Steam. They're still going to remove it from being sold on Steam, but owners can still play it/people who have gift copies/keys can still activate it. It's doubtful that they'll continue to push updates to the Steam version, but only time will tell.
Ethan Brown
>can't beat em, buy em out. >can't buy em out, bribe em. >can't bribe em, pay off media to shill against em. The game is now owned by one of the biggest faggot companies in the entire world. That changes everything.
Hudson Clark
>just get in the shower dude >nothing is going to happen
Andrew Miller
And you wont be able to buy DLC for it because the base game isnt for sale anymore.
Mason Mitchell
>Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben Incorrect. Epic's statement was as follows
"The PC version of Rocket League will come to the Epic Games store in late 2019. In the meantime, it will continue to be available for purchase on Steam; thereafter it will continue to be supported on Steam for all existing purchasers."
"We are continuing to sell Rocket League on Steam, and have not announced plans to stop selling the game there." An Epic spokesperson added, "Rocket League remains available for new purchasers on Steam, and long-term plans will be announced in the future."
It's carefully worded PR. They are removing it later this year, that's what they mean by "future plans".
Kayden Diaz
They took the myspace pill. Sell out at the peak of popularity before you fall and never work again. Not mad but disappointed since they could have raised much higher.
Christian James
>better show epic how much epic sucks for lacking steam features >by using steam features to give a game we actually like awful ratings for things not related to gameplay! excellent, this will surely convince all those devs who are leaving to stay
Hudson Diaz
>you live in a world where China can literally just walk into your steam library, buy all of the games and studios inside, and make them Epic Store Exclusive at the snap of their fingers, regardless of how long those games have been sold on Steam This is where we are at. And it's not a good thing.
Jeremiah Turner
>trusting sweeney
James Harris
I hope more studios drop Steam. Greenlight was the beginning of the end for Steam, and I predicted that it would become Desura 2.0 when the front page became filled to the brim with indie Unity dog shit, and lo and behold it's happening. Quality control is important, and now Steam has become the 99 cent visual novel store. It's good that Steam is offering a store for indie developers but with Valve choosing to release Artifact instead of L4D3 or supporting TF2/CSGO in a meaningful way it's only a matter of time until they lose everything. Valve is way too passive and have nothing to offer other then their facebook tier community shit to keep people using their store. Valve could buy studios to make first party games, they could clean up their store, they could improve the service, they could ovver devs more lucrative earnings, they could release real first party games, they could become a publisher for indie studios, and they could work with console makers to enable full crossplay on more games......yet they don't. History won't remember Valve as having done anything wrong, they will be remembered for not doing anything at all.
why are they even doing this? valve will add the anti-retard thing like they did on metro
Justin Green
>throwing good will out the window good job retard
Mason Powell
they'll most likely shut down online services on Steam
Lucas Bailey
i thought nintendies were the worst cocksucking bootlickers of videogame companies, but steamcucks are proving me wrong i have never seens such a collective of manchildren sperging about the virtual store launcher they have to boot up to play a game
Brayden Hall
go away chang
Ayden Ward
Why is his face so fucking tempting to punt? Every time I see it I have to resist the urge to kick my monitor into the wall
>game gets low ratings on an irrelevant shop that won`t even sell the game for much longer. Seems like they didn`t think that one through
Camden Thomas
>fleeing
I can't wait for the next big indie release that foregoes steam, only to have to provide all their own infrastructure, and everything goes wrong.
Say what you will about 30% but Steam as a service was unprecedented at the time and completely changed the landscape.
Epic is bullying it's way into the market with what appears to be infinite dollars and a shitty "holier than thou" attitude, and it might just work but they'll never replace steam until they can offer the same back end and infrastructure, and that means their cut will go up too.
Oliver Miller
>Microsoft or Sony aquire a studio >no one bat's an eye, console cucks celebrate it >Epic Games aquire a studio >REEEEEEEEEE THIS ISN'T GOOD IT'S SO ANTI CONSUMER FUCKING SPAM NEGATIVE REVIEWS NOW. I'M SO FUCKING MAD EPIG GAME STORE BAD!
Joshua Kelly
yeah... they totally won't suddenly drop support or release EGS exclusive features.. yeah
Alexander Flores
>Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam the state of epic shills
Julian White
Bully all Fortnite kiddos, it's the only way to make it stop.
Not to mention trying to bully and buy your way into a market by force almost never works. Because you can never make that money back that you are spending.
Because publishers have no loyalty. In the end just because Epic gives 2K millions for a years worth of exclusives there is a 99% chance that if it does work and sales stay the same it just means in 2 years 2k will have it's own launcher and will just cut steam and epic out.
Steam is just playing the long game because they know that eventually all big Western AAA games want to basically be services that all go through the publishers own store.
I and many others have zero interest in that shit. Just like the arcades, eventually the floor is going to fall out of the lootboxes/timers market and we will see some major companies/publishers go bankrupt.
Justin Martinez
And here it is. You lossers are so desperate for a game the world has moved on from youre willing to turn the entire PC market to shit just to spite valve.
Ayden Jones
Yeah but their cut will go up after they get their monopoly, then they can charge 40% and increase the price of games in general. And that's good! That's competition!
Joshua Wood
jokes on you valve fucktard
team fortress sucks, half life sucks dota sucks valve games were never good valve fags on suicide watch hahahahahhahaha get fucked fat loser
Oliver Carter
Based pirate
Hunter Ramirez
Thank you for contributing so well to this conversation. Seriously go fucking neck yourself nobody cares that you pirate
Andrew Johnson
>youre willing to turn the entire PC market to shit just to spite valve Uhm... Yes?
Carson Green
>REEEEE WHY AREN'T YOU PAYING THE CHINESE OVERLORDS The devs set up an adversarial relationship when they prioritize money over consumer well-being, so the correct move for the consumer is to play into that and prioritize their money over the devs' well-beings.
Juan Evans
Not even a chink shill just annoyed by pirate posters never shutting the fuck up about how they pirate
Jaxson Butler
The 30% is greedy as fuck and it's long past time Valve was called out for it.
Justin Evans
>>i.e. nothing really changes except the game will not be available for purchase on steam anymore, so that's a lie
Nathan Bennett
>Thank you for contributing so well to this conversation The ramifications of Epic's bullshit on the growth is piracy is very related.
Except we still don't know shit yet. Will the Steam version have the exact same content as the Epic version? Will an update force you to create an Epic Games account for online functionality? We all knows those "future plans" means to change something in order to make the Steam version inferior
Jordan Ross
>hurrr durrr valve no make game so I want the store that charges $80 for games in over half the world and withholds customer service to become the norm for PC gaming
Xavier Sanders
>and have not announced plans to stop selling the game there That's a fucking great PR line.
Luis Phillips
Which is pretty fucking hilarious that Epic's supporters are pirates that probably don't even have the Epic launcher either. Here Epic is trying to hold a war against Steam but it's supporters are either consolefags or mobilefags that play Fortnite, or piratefags butthurt about HL3.
Colton Gutierrez
>They're not going to remove licenses from people who already have it on Steam. They're still going to remove it from being sold on Steam, but owners can still play it/people who have gift copies/keys can still activate it. They don't deserve praise for this. Removing the game from users' libraries would have been unprecedented. Keeping a game in users' libraries when removing it from the Steam store is par for the course and frankly the bare minimum, not a charitable gift to consumers.
Logan Long
They are going to shit out RL2 in 1 1/2 years tops, which will be a Epic exclusive and have next to no changes compared to RL1.
Steam are basically in the same situation Netflix are in now, and just like Netflix their best option is to get exclusives and original content. No other store rival has been quite so pro-active as Epic, most other rivals have just had their first party games as exclusives. Epic is the first one who's actively taking third party titles away from them.
So there's two was Valve can do things, either try and work with other publishers and storefronts to make PC more accessible. Work on things like making Proton cross-publisher, shared multiplayer services for games sold across multiple storefronts, maybe a "Living Room Gaming PC" project that will by default run linux and have Steam, GOG, Origin, Uplay, Etc integrated into it and coalesce gamer's libraries into a single one.
Or they can do what Epic is doing, secure exclusives, buy some Devs, and i dunno, give people a reason to buy VR. Naturally i lean towards the former.
Jacob Cox
>i thought nintendies were the worst cocksucking bootlickers of videogame companies If you ever actually thought that, you're severely underage to begin with and need to get off of Yea Forums
That wasn't praise, simply an explanation. Steam did one time remove a game from user libraries, but the game in question was entirely reliant on a developer-run server to play and said server was permanently disabled, rendering the client-side software unusable. Still pretty shitty, but it's been done before.
Eli Ross
>The 30% is greedy as fuck and it's long past time Valve was called out for it. Actual game developers don't even believe this, aside from maybe a few talentless hacks who started making games six months ago and weren't around before Steam made indie game development a thousand times more viable.
To quote the Rebel Galaxy: Outlaw developers in their explanation of why their game is Epic-exclusive for the first year: >So, before Valve and the 70/30 split it was pretty darn rough to be an indie (both in terms of royalty share and in terms of the ability to sell things without a publisher). We can all thank Valve for using their leverage to make that happen, and usher in the era we have now. We think it’s safe to say that a large percentage of the games made today wouldn’t exist without it. >Epic is using their leverage to push that even farther, to 88/12. That’s another whole strata of developers who can survive. >Would we like that to become the new standard? >Yes. rebel-galaxy.com/rebel-galaxy-outlaw-launching-on-epic-games-store-qa/
Owen Gray
Meanwhile Steam has gotten countries with rampant piracy problems to buy games while Tim Sweeney is literally shrieking and crying at how Asia won't buy games from him.
Jace Ramirez
As long as I can dunk on faggots like OP and doesn't require some Ep*c games account then I really don't give a fuck.
I don't think valve could commit to 12% maybe 20%?
Landon Ramirez
>And people still wonder why devs are fleeing steam. Those Fortnite bucks is just as good as any other money. I hope Mr Sweeney has a plan when Fortnite loses its lustre with you zoomers.
Hudson James
Hmmm... as Epic i think my next move would be having an option for people to connect their steam account to epic and then offer every game in their wishlist for 10-20% less than steam is offering it.
Alexander Allen
They cannot remove the game from people's libraries without refunding everyone, dumbass. You'd have to be a moron to think they would even consider that.
John Wilson
>People have already faced various punishments for violating social protocols. The system has been used to already block nine million people with "low scores" from purchasing domestic flights. While still in the preliminary stages, the system has been used to ban people and their children from certain schools, prevent low scorers from renting hotels, using credit cards, and blacklist individuals from being able to procure employment. The system has also been used to rate individuals on their internet habits (excessive online gaming reduces one's score), personal shopping habits, and a variety of other personal and wholly innocuous acts that have no impact on the wider community. Imagine shilling for China
Kek, Fortnite money can cover a lot of their shit but that might be a bit too much for even Fortnite money to cover, user.
Especially since right now, Epic's games are 20% MORE outside of America. Borderlands 3 is $80 USD where I live and $85 USD for my Australian neighbors.
Brandon Lewis
>Epic games is going to lower prices! They've done this for literally only one game
Jacob Lee
That's going to kill the playerbase on Steam.
Benjamin Campbell
>"+1 point(s) have been added to your social credit" >"You may now apply for a job as a suicide net tester"
Mason Watson
Didn't Epic lower prices for a single game, in a single country? And then they proceeded to jack the price up everywhere else to cover that one discount. After the $60-$50 price drop of Metro, it got jacked up from $60 to $110 in SEA because Tim Sweeney unironically expects us to pay for American discounts.
Funny he's trying this because Gaben is the only one that can get us to stop pirating shit.
Tyler Collins
This
Benjamin Anderson
Piracy is a service problem. People will obviously pirate if that's their only option.
Juan Hall
>living in irrelevant countries I'd feel bad for you, but I don't feel bad for subhumans.
Andrew Moore
I don't blame them, to be honest. Having gone with Epic, they have to promote the idea of using Epic in order to promote their game. Meanwhile, their explanation of the decision to go with Epic was satisfactory. I would be annoyed about permanent exclusivity, but one year of exclusivity doesn't bother me because I probably wasn't going to buy Outlaw in the first year anyway. I don't buy anything at launch anymore. I didn't play the original Rebel Galaxy until it turned up in a bundle on Fanatical. I liked the game so I'd be willing to spend more on Outlaw, but with so much in my backlog, there's really no rush to play it. I can wait until it's on Steam, GOG, or any other store. Alternatively, I can wait until Epic stops playing the exclusivity game and updates their service to keep up with industry standards. A good game being exclusive to Epic for just 12 months isn't going to convince me to support the store's anti-consumer practices.
Carter Williams
Europe makes up 30% of Steam's sales and Asia 20% though, the two together literally make up 50% of Steam's sales.
Josiah Moore
>tfw low cost unlimited fiber optic broadband and unlimited mobile data plans Don't feel bad, our internet is 100 years ahead of the shit the West has. How are those phone and internet monopolies of yours going? What was it, AT&T?
Kevin Kelly
nigga removing a game out of a steam library is unheard of, I litteraly have games in my library that don't even exist anymore (nosgoth, lawbreakers).
as epic planned, the articles will read: Rocket league on EGS now has more players than Steam
Dominic Allen
That's incorrect. You can still push DLC to a game's store page after having removed the ability to purchase the main title itself.
Xavier Harris
You can raise your social credit score by "donating" money to the government. Apparently money does make you a better person.
Xavier Lewis
PC gaming is a free market user, not a commie planned market. Each of those companies reserve the right and ultimately should tell each other to fuck off.
Isaac Allen
>headlines literally read "No ANNOUNCED plans to remove it from steam" >official statements are entirely weasel words to sound like they won't, but clearly admit that they will if you know how to read at a 10th grade level
Luis Reed
the what?
Hunter Barnes
Contracts are part of a free market.
Angel Morris
Collaboration and collusion is harmful to consumer, every company needs to be at each others throats both to thrive in the market and to give the consumer the best possible deal.
If valve get fucked, its just the nature of the game baby. Real adults can buy their entire game collection very month without even denting their wage slip... so really, valve dying dosen't really matter to me, i can buy everything again if i ever felt like it.
Andrew Perry
>Believing anything from Epic's mouth >implying there's any other way to communicate frustration like that valve dev said
Grayson Hernandez
wasn't this an episode of black mirror?
Brandon Campbell
Not him, but I think he's referring to Steam's review-bomb filter. If Steam decides that a flood of negative reviews is off-topic review bombing, those reviews will be removed from the total review score.
Julian Murphy
no it's Boost Mobile now
Jordan Nguyen
>Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben Psyonix confirmed that RL wouldn't be available for purchase on Steam later this year when the EGS version releases. So no, they're not "keeping it on steam"
>i.e. nothing really changes What changes is that customers that are forced to buy on EGS will lose Workshop mods accessibility, Linux and MacOS support since EGS doesn't exist on these platforms, localised pricing for microtransaction and having to deal with the shitty Epic Launcher in general.
Meanwhile there are absolute zero, ZERO net positive for them to make a switch like that. They are simply jews that cares only about money. I'm glad they're taking a hit in review and hope their game dies as a result.
Juan Bailey
>Game no longer on sale on steam >Epic now has access to all your data
Jackson James
>What changes is that customers that are forced to buy on EGS will lose ... Linux and MacOS support since EGS doesn't exist on these platforms In my opinion, this is the really shitty part — that a Linux version exists but will be impossible to buy if the game goes EGS-exclusive.
Zachary Mitchell
That's not all.
Remember Rune? Human Head Studios were in the process of making a remake/sequel/whatever, but it recently disappeared from Steam with the notice that the team has received additional funding. You know what that means.
Hopefuly, all these issues can be adressed with updates to the EGS. That being said, even if the Epic Launcher becomes on par or even better than Steam, Epic's reputation is tainted for making shitty moves and fucking consumers over. Having store/launcher exclusive isn't new at all and nobody seems to really mind THAT much when it comes to Uplay/origins/other launchers. But that fact that Epic launched their store with "Yeah we're grabbing Metro Exodus away from customers and force you to buy it through us. Suck my dick" and keep agresively taking games off the steam store is... well... how the fuck is this supposed to be good for me ? How am i supposed to like your store if you keep inconveniencing me like that?
Jayden Watson
user, people only listen to the 0.001% if they have money. And linux users ain't got money. Why else would they use garbage they can get for free.
Gabriel Mitchell
It isn't tainted at all.
Trust me when I say this, Epic could fucking light a bunch of babies on fire in front of their offices, and there would still be gamers buying from them. Gamers are fucking sheep. Look at how many people still bought, and still fucking support, Fallout 76 and Anthem.
Epic is doing the real scumbag tactics, and people are rewarding them for it.
Jordan Parker
Wew, I hope they announce a new game so I can pirate that. Based Epic paying for all my games.
Jason Gonzalez
The more shit I see people review bombing the more I actually support Devs going to Epic. Seriously stop this childish shit you fucking retarded faggots.
Yeah, that's why they never bothered to create a Linux version of Rocket League. Oh wait.
Ryan Moore
amen brother. steam can go to hell and epic will never win. The only winners now are the pirates
Jason Hughes
So the backlash to Epic's bullshit justifies their bullshit? Retard.
Jonathan James
EPIC IS SAVING VIDEO GAMES, INCEL.
Blake Richardson
>they're going to keep it on steam >except for the part where they take it off steam
Ryan Lee
>justifies their bullshit?
What bullshit is Epic actually doing? They're actually helping out Developers and them getting a fair share. The only downside is uh, downloading Epic's launcher? That's literally it. Meanwhile Valve gives you shit on a plate
Brayden Lopez
Sounds like it´s taken straight from some dystopian cyberpunk novel from the 80s
Xavier Brooks
Nah, go back to consoles. I hope to god that study about 20 million retards fucking off back to consoles is legit because I'm kinda tired of you faggots shitting up PC as a platform.
Hudson Thompson
That's our future, user. We don't even get the fun cybernetics and augments. It's just dystopia.
Cooper Moore
No. Why don't you go to InfoWars and jerk off with your tinfoil hat wearing faggotry. Stop being a fucking conspiracy faggot.
Xavier Edwards
Nah, fuck off back to consoles where you belong.
Elijah Rivera
If you already own the game, I don't see why you'd give a damn.
Jeremiah Torres
Your social justice stance by review bombing is only going to backlash even harder and convince even more developers to move to Epic. You're literally doing their job for them. Do something more meaningful you fucking brainlet faggot
Samuel James
>>Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben
>being dumb enough to believe them They said they will keep it on steam IN THE MEANTIME. Why would they use that phrasing if they didn't plan on removing it from Steam eventually?
But Psyonix and Epic aren't at eachother's throats.
Nathaniel Adams
>What bullshit is Epic actually doing? Eliminating choice, attempting to build a monopoly, cheating paying customers out of their product, using borderline illegal tactics to forward their business, using a foreign platform for advertisement only to bribe devs for exclusivity later, forcing a shitty launcher down my throat that is lacking even the most basic features, being irresponsible with user data and having a dozen security breaches a month, outright lying about the most trivial shit, running a smear campaign specifically targetting Steam and only Steam, making a secret out of sales data, basically admitting they don't give a shit about their customers, "accidentally" scanning your PC for Steam data they can use later and who knows what else, having no discounts or sales and probably a dozen other things I'm missing.
But other than that, Epic is totally fine.
Thomas Young
The companies here have literally gotten enough money to cover the nation in fiber optics three times over for free to do so, they have put down none.
Christian Diaz
More conspiracy bullshit. The same faggots who think every game posted here is a shill. You're mentally ill.
Besides lets say half of this shit is true the developers moving to Epic should know better. But other than that you're just making shit up or falling for youtube bait.
Hudson Parker
>willing to turn the entire PC market to shit just to spite valve. yes because of the absolute shitfit that valve babies throw. Did the same during the election it's always fun to see people get so triggered and throw hissyfits
Jeremiah Adams
>"FUCK PSYONIX!" >"YEAH! FUCK EM!" >continues to keep playing Lmao, no wonder companies mentally abuse you manchildren, you're so fucking naive
Does Epic even have currency converting like Steam does? Will I get cheaper games if I live in Russia or Latin America?
Jace Flores
Is that from the new Anno bought out by Epic? If so I appreciate the irony.
Christian Price
>b-bait! >tinfoil hat! >mentall illness! >check out these false equivalences! The warcry of the Epic shill. Literally anything I posted can be verified with a few clicks, but you choose not to.
Benjamin Sullivan
Yeah, and not being able to buy it from steam means people that buy it on epic will not be able to use the workshop shit or people that are on stream will have their workshop shit removed, very nice of them, such a great company taking a product and making it worse for the consumers just because.
Luke Cook
I bet you're american, there's no other explanation for why you can't see the writing so blatantly on the wall.
Jonathan Adams
Finally a post with some insight. There’s too many undesirables on PC they deserve to get screwed by console makers.
Levi Taylor
Nope. In fact, you're paying the conversion tax.
Gabriel Carter
It is, indeed.
Camden Hall
No Half-Life to us. No Life to Valve.
As long as Valve fails to comply by our demands, as long as they purposefully neglect our desires, as long as they maliciously taunt us about it, then we shall ensure Valve's death. If they give us no half-life, then we shall give them death.
No Half-Life to us? Then no life to Valve.
Brayden Powell
>buy nothing, so they gain no money >in fact, strain their servers Where's the problem?
Ian Carter
>two bionic arms Poor girl, so young and she already lost 2 wives.
James Brown
Why would the developers care? For them it's a financial safety net by being guaranteed a set amount, to which then they're able to sell it on Steam later on down the line for even more sales on a platform that has more available. Mod support, forum discussions, reviews. Why are you so for them taking away the choice you originally once had?
I think the review bomb shit is retarded, but at the same time epic trying their hardest to get as many games exclusive to their platform is equally as bad.
General MacArthur was right, we should have finished the job..
Landon Torres
>helping out developers
Helping out publishers. The developers can go fucking die for all Epic cares, did they give a shit what obsidian or 4A or their own guys working on fortnite pulling 100 hour weeks think? Unless you're an indie dev thinking about that sweet 88% in which case lmao @ ur life. If you can't surpass these standards you're not getting on.
Even if you're ironic, you should get beaten to death for giving birth to such a retarded and cringe-inducing post to serve as a lesson to others.
Ryder Hall
>"+3 social credit has been added to your ID."

Connor Lewis
>I bet you're american, there's no other explanation for why you can't see the writing so blatantly on the wall.
You retards think you're so clever. Thinking you can see shit between the lines and finding out some niche opinion on a topic makes you a tryhard intellectual. There's no evidence to back up your claim other than your tinfoil posts. It's really pathetic. Wanna talk about the globalist agenda now and how the water turns frogs gay?
Justin Ross
this, i live in costa rica, and i'm sure that i have better internet than most americans
Bentley Garcia
Your're an oxymoron. You're out here calling everyone a shill. You have no argument either. No evidence to back up your claim, nothing.
Luke White
Any idea how much it costs to get your arms amputated and bionics installed? Asking for a friend.
>No evidence to back up your claim Everything I posted is backed up by data collected over months and has been common knowledge. Hell, Epic or devs themselves even outright admitted it. Seeing you denying it either makes youa paid shill or a complete retard. Both options aren't exactly flattering. >You're out here calling everyone a shill No, just you. >Your're an oxymoron And you're just a moron.
Bentley Reed
Honestly I don't think hating that face is exclusive to valve tards
Christopher Baker
wut anime is this?
Elijah Turner
>Everything I posted is backed up by data collected over months and has been common knowledge No. Not it has not. It's just more fags who think anything posted on Yea Forums is fact. You're a gullible retard.
Jayden Ortiz
Except it's not just on Yea Forums, but nice try.
Henry Campbell
There's just no good explaining to you retards. Epic have said they want to displace Steam (sweeney's words) they don't support 3rd party key sites except for their "partners" which only sell the game at the same price as the epic store so it's entirely pointless, they forsee a future in which you go to epic for everything and to steam only for valve games (pic related) and they're snapping up exclusivity contracts constantly but WUH THEY WANT THEIR OWN MONOPOLY?!? WHEN HAVE THEY EVER SAID EXACTLY THAT WORD FOR WORD AND SIGNED AND DATED IT WITNESSED BY A JUDGE OTHERWISE UR WRONG
The plebs are acting up again... Make the call. How dare they challenge silicon valley.
Jackson Diaz
>It's doubtful that they'll continue to push updates to the Steam version that that alone is enough for people to be pissed
Hunter Foster
>If I just pretend that the store isn't lacking features then that goes away Do you really need someone to link Epic's own roadmap to you, or Epic's own post trying to justify why it scrapes data from Steam config files? Do you need your hand held to see that Epic forcing Humble Bundle to match their store price literally defeats the purpose of selling it on other sites? Or how about their own exclusive deals that they use to birbe devs to their platform?
Brandon Harris
Once Chad Epic drives the Virgin Valve out of business, all of your games are going to be gone.
Nicholas Moore
What? This isn't even a conspiracy this is called a competition. Get fucking used to it. Besides this isn't even bad at all? Holy christ you guys are babies. No evidence at all. Yes, I've seen the pics but that does not explain anything.
Tyler Gonzalez
>They're not removing it! >They actually are removing it, but if you already own it you can still play it. >Updates? Well, they haven't said... >Crossplay? Ummm....
Yeah, fuck you OP, you shameless corporate meatpuppet.
Adam Turner
Then no matter what they add to that store, I just can't transition to it, because games on steam cost me in Latin America like 30% less money just because they feel sorry for me.
Ryan Richardson
You really are american. >what? >i see'd pictur but nobody explain so don't get
Cameron White
>I saw what you're referring to but no one broke it down into small enough words for me so it doesn't count Not reading will negatively affect your social credit score, user

>>Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben I absolutely love how kids can't comprehend the danger of giving their money to CHINA botnet and shit on valve for absolutely NO REASON only because they play a shitty battle royale meme game

Not every single gamer is exactly like you, otherwise DLC wouldn't even exist. There is clearly entire armies of people who gobble it up hence it's existence. So being mad at your purchase being retroactively being gimped and "taken" from you by Chinese billionaires is not logically inconsistent with being a person who purchases DLC.
This fucker has a more punchable face than ajit pai, i never though someone would surpass that indian fucker.

How would 2 friends play with each other if one is on epic store and the other steam?
Aiden Parker
Rocket League has cross platform play with consoles so whatever way that works.
Thomas Campbell
>Epic is the first one who's actively taking third party titles away from them. You see, before there was healthy competition and stores tried to compete with each other by being better somehow. Yes even the shitty uplay or origin tried to be convenient even if primarily for their target demographics.
What Epic is doing however is not healthy competition. They're basically forcing PC gaming into the mess that the film industry in the US was before the government had to step in to unfuck it all. Yes, not all competition is healthy. Just like all food is not healthy, or all exercise is not healthy, or all air is not healthy. All of those things are good, but not all forms of them are. That much should be obvious, but somehow plenty of people refuse to accept it.
Epic is shit.

>Or they can do what Epic is doing, secure exclusives, buy some Devs, and i dunno, give people a reason to buy VR That is what they're doing, but without exclusivity. Valve puts a ton of money into VR devs with very few strings attached. They've also invested a ton into helping devs with Linux compatability. All of this without forcing exclusivity to Steam.
Gabriel White
The funny thing about Satisfactory is that the devs have been having constant twitter meltdowns about piracy.
Liam Thomas
>bribe Do you really know what "bribe" means?Obviously not.
Camden Perez
>you live in a world where China can literally just walk into your steam library Morel like "America can literally just walk into your steam library". Both Steam and Epic launcher are owned by Americans. Better KYS right now.
Easton Miller
I only hope that piracy drives little timmy back to the console market. It would be hilarious.
Austin Garcia
Epic's "competition" is a joke. Even if it's something like a one year exclusive, it sucks. It's like a console exclusive so you have to wait to get to play it if you don't own the console. I get that it's easier to install a launcher than it is to buy a console, but if people wanted to use the Epic store, they will.
>still no fucking shopping cart jesus christ anyone defending this shit is either a contrarian or just a chink shill
James Rodriguez
>Epic's "competition" is a joke. The issue is so layered it's not even fucking funny.
>Epic fucking over consumers to get back at Valve >consumers siding with Valve despite how Valve treats its fanbase >Valve doesn't give a fuck because they were never a game company to begin with
>Psyonix bought by Epic >Epic and Psyonix both promises to keep it on steam so you can continue to deepthroat Gaben it's not clear what they plan to do just yet so it could go either way right now >i.e. nothing really changes false >Steamdrones still manages to have a collective shit fit >... And people still wonder why devs are fleeing steam. It doesn't really matter in the end because of Steam's review bomb monitoring feature All it really is is a way for owners of the game to voice their concerns which is beneficial There is literally nothing wrong with this
Nicholas Bailey
>Valve choosing to release Artifact instead of L4D3 Yeah I guess we should move to epic, makers of masterpieces like... uh... Fortnite?
Nicholas Hughes
uhhh sweetie, Epic makes Unreal ENgine therefore all games using Unreal Engine are Epic's

Can any new card game even make it in today's market? I feel like the old ones have staying power because they already got their money and time out of people which pressures them to stay The nature of card games take so much money to actually get somewhere and there's inherit RNG elements in card games (like how your deck gets shuffled) If it wasn't for people dropping $60 plus on every hearthstone expansion until they got tired of it and just keep it going since they've invested so much I don't know if the game would even be as big as it is
Josiah Martinez
> they were never a game company to begin with kek
Easton Powell
Oh yeah, with all this disappointment for Epic, I forgot that Valve has reached its plateau and has been losing quality slowly. I like Steam, but I wish Valve would make games and I don't know if their VR will ever reach a moderate success.
Isaiah Reed
>Valve doesn't give a fuck because they were never a game company to begin with This is a store vs store thing right now All Epic really has of note that their own studios made themselves is Fortnite
Andrew Martin
Reminder not to listen to any cucks/shills who tell you that Epic is healthy competition and good for the industry. They don't want competition, they want to be the only game in town. If they really were for healthy competition, they'd ensure that the same games they sell where available on Steam and other platforms, but they'd sell for less money.
Jeremiah Lopez
Some could, but it seems difficult since there are already popular and well established games. I'm thinking like Pokemon and Yu gi oh dominated back then and still today with nobody else making it as big.
Joshua Gomez
This. They aren't pro-games or pro-gamers or pro-developers. They are just a normal business and it's all about money and killing the competition.
