>"Here are three words I never thought I’d write: Bloodlines is back." >"Bloodlines 2 opens with a direct call-back to the original. Your character—whose appearance and backstory can be customised before the game starts—awakens on the floor of what appears to be a courthouse." >"Bloodlines 2 is built in Unreal 4, and plays mostly from a first-person perspective. The escape from the burning courthouse doubles as the tutorial. Unlike the first Bloodlines, you don’t pick your clan during character creation. Instead, all players start-out as a “thin-blood”, a weaker type of vampire with a unique set of powers. " >"Players will get to choose a clan later in the game. Paradox isn’t prepared to reveal which clans are present. But they confirm there will be five playable clans in the game. This is slightly fewer than Bloodlines 1, but Hardsuit and Paradox want to focus on making each clan distinct in their playstyle. " >"Thin-bloods can grow bat-like wings, transform into mist, and also wield objects from a distance via telekinesis. At the end of the tutorial, players will have to choose one of these powers, which has its own skill-subset. " >"Environments, meanwhile, are built so that that you can navigate them in multiple ways. Alongside the original Bloodlines, Paradox cites games like System Shock, Deus Ex, and Dishonored as other primary inspirations." >"We first glimpse Seattle as we emerge on the waterfront beneath Pier 57, its iconic Ferris-wheel illuminated in neon-lights (Bloodlines 2’s Seattle exists in perpetual night, much like the first game’s LA). Moving toward the pier, our vampire encounters a man holding a mobile phone, which begins to ring. On the other end of the line is a mysterious woman, who instructs us on the basics of feeding."
Sound pretty awesome, but I am kind of afraid of 5000x DLCs for Clans, powers and special powers. What do you like the most so far?
>"This works much like the original Bloodlines, with a sweet-spot between getting the optimum amount of blood and accidentally killing your victim, losing humanity in the process. We’re also instructed to meet someone up on the pier. As with Bloodlines 1, the game is fully voiced, and while neither Paradox nor Hardsuit will spill details, Mitsoda boasts that Bloodlines 2’s voice cast is “maybe the best of any game”. " >"Unlike the original, both melee and ranged combat are viewed from first-person. It’s a highly improvisational system, with your vampire using his fists, objects in the environment and his powers to gain an edge. For example, your thinblood can yank firearms out of enemy hands using telekinesis, or fly into the air to literally get the drop on an opponent. Also players will be able to equip two melee and two ranged weapons at any a time. But as Schwarzer says, “How you and your equipment looks at the end of that fi ght might be quite a bit different.” " >"However you approach combat, Hardsuit is keen to ensure that it communicates your supernatural power, speed, and resilience. Even as a thin-blood you can comfortably tear through an armed gang of humans using only your fists." >"At a higher level, you’ll be able to enact devastating special moves, for which the camera will zoom out into third-person. You won’t only be fighting humans, there will be plenty of tougher enemies in Bloodlines 2, including numerous types of vampire."
Luis Russell
Fuck off Discord tranny, this game is shit
James Ward
>"Hardsuit Labs want players to explore Bloodlines organically. This extends beyond how players find quests, to how they solve them. In the early game, your choice of character background will impact upon your experience. If you choose Police Officer, for example, then should you need to visit the police station, you don’t have to find a back entrance and sneak around, you can just walk through the front. But even this comes with complications. “Your colleague will come and say ‘Hey where have you been the last two weeks? Social security has covered for you, but you need to get back to work’,” Schlütter says."
>"It all sounds enormously ambitious. There are many other systems and ideas explained that I’ve barely touched upon. Schwarzer states that Hardsuit labs “set out to provide as many active unlocks as possible during your progression system” while the developers point out there will be extensive customisation options that let you enrobe your vampire however you like. Plus, there’s the new Resonance system, which gives each NPC’s blood a different ‘flavour’ based on their emotional state. Feeding from someone who is angry, for example, will provide a short-term melee damage buff, while repeatedly feeding on angry people will let you unlock a permanent passive bonus."
Kayden Walker

>Unreal 4 Wow how original and never done before haha
Logan Ramirez
Wouldn't really call losing 30% of your options "slightly fewer". All the clans in the original game had pretty different play styles, so it's sad to know two of those are going to be cut.
Grayson Jackson
Are thinbloods supposed to have unique powers? I thought they were just barely above human but with all the weaknesses of a vampire.
>All the clans in the original game had pretty different play styles That's why it bothered me when people were saying Brujah and Gangrel played the same just because they both focus on melee. Celerity and Animalism are really different in function.
I think the game will be okay but I really doubt it'll be better than the original.
Luke Price
In updates they got new abilities (I can't remember what exactly) but originally they could just choose random existing disciplines
Ian Bennett
Say goodbye to Nossies and Malks. If you select your clan later in the game, there's no way you can start with a lunatic or a disfigured freak.
Caleb Torres
Wonder if at any point we will have to use diablerie to become kore powerful.
John Peterson
Originally it was Caitiffs that had random/not specific clan disciplines, thin bloods were lucky to get any disciplines and some could even walk in the sun they were so pathetic.
Anthony Nelson
I don't think they'd get rid of Nosferatu or Malks. It's probably between Brujah/Gangrel and Toreador/Ventrue.
Benjamin Myers
Oh yeah, that's right. Man they've really buffed thin-bloods.
James Price
Then again isn't it going to be newsuck CoD edition anyway so none of the original stuff matters?
Aaron Nelson
NOOO THEY BETTER NOT REMOVE TOREADORS REEE FUCK OFF FAGGOT DEVS

Meh, i dont care until i see the gameplay. I've long since lost any trust i had for developers. That little sneak peak we saw of gameplay looked jank as fuck though
Jonathan Taylor
That's a good point. If you create your character at the beginning of the game, you probably won't get to be a Nosferatu unless you get to recreat them later on.
Is the gameplay trailer out yet? The one they teased at the end of the thinblood one.
Evan Barnes
Can't be if it's a direct sequel to Bloodlines. WoD and CoD are separate universes.

Unreal Engine.... So they'll do the trick 4A Games pulled a week before its steam release date.... More so since its Unreal engine
Hope these degenerate devs kill themselves since no one wants their virtue signalling faux rpg
Carter Edwards
This sounds extremely promising, but I can't say I'm not worried about Hardsuit Labs historically being a shovelware developer and the ever-present threat of horrific SJW bullshit seeping into every facet of development.
I just hope they've got some strong people on the development team to slap down morons who think having a pansexual demigendered Communist fighting the good fight is a good idea.
Adrian Jenkins
Toreador reveal is tonight anons
Oliver Brooks
Obviously. They're just using Steam as advertisement space. Win-win for them.
Eli Campbell
Im starting to have a sinking feeling that the devs may have bitten off more than they can chew. With all this "ambitious" and "all clans have a distinct playstyle" talk sounding more like a, kind way of telling your friend "wow this a really neat idea, but you don't have a chance in hell of pulling it off."
Who would make a vampire game with day or night cycles when you wanted to bore players waiting our half the day?
Dylan Reyes
I don't care about wading through some fags and trannies as long as it doesn't fuck up the dialogue and atmosphere. The best thing about the first game was that it really got you invested in the roleplay.
Angel Adams
>Paradox cites games like System Shock, Deus Ex, and Dishonored as other primary inspirations Seems like the best way to go, could always use more of those types of games.
Which is why there's only 5 real clans, I suppose. I don't think there has been any real indication as to what the scope of this game will be outside of something about having a continuous open map as opposed to hubs like in the first game
Joshua Murphy
He's making a joke about Cyberpunk 2077 being too bright
From the Brujah reveal on PC gamer, it sounds like they're going out of their way to make disciplines have more unique abilities as opposed to just stat buffs
Austin Ramirez
you know what maybe they can pull it off, stranger things have happened if they are really citing system shock and deus ex as primary inspirations then maybe there's a slim chance they can do it here's hoping that they can betray their own nature and die as authors so that the story and atmosphere would be proper
>Instead, all players start-out as a “thin-blood”, a weaker type of vampire with a unique set of powers. >Thin-bloods can grow bat-like wings, transform into mist, and also wield objects from a distance via telekinesis
Just throwing lore and the story out altogether, huh?
Camarilla V5 expansion is pretty good honestly and I highly recommend it. Anarch expansion however, I pretty much stopped reading after few pages because of its narration. Most story elements are narrated by individual vampires, their stories as well as some reports by the Inquisition but the anarch book made me feel as I was reading the diary of a 15 year old edgy kid. Camarilla it is for me
I have an awful suspicion that this gaming is going to be a buggy mess, and that is what is going to kill it more than any supposed politics.
Daniel King
>gay muslim black furry fighting against patriarchy Man I love how these guys have no idea about the muslim community in general and think their gay muslim friend who comprises 0.0001% of the entire muslim population can be an example of good faith towards other muslims in the world. As a muslim myself honestly I take offense
That didn't stop VtMB from being the best RPG of all time
Carson Lewis
>not being able to choose clan at start >fewer clans, "we made dem more unnique xd"
The biggest red flag I have seen yet, this has FO4 factions written all over it. Sure, it COULD be ok, but it never is. Not being able to choose clan at start and having "neutral" tutorial and early game smells like they wanted to avoid as much work as they could, and if they are taking that attitude that early on chances are that they will not put any more effort to the endgame. Remember the bloodlines endgame?
Liberals don't know how the world actually works, it's only natural

>Brujah The only decent Brujah are Christof Romuald and Wilhelm from Redemption. Everyone else seems like a colossal retard. I doubt this game will make them any more tolerable.
Brujah, Toreador, Ventrue, Gangrel, MAYBE Tremere. Nosferatu and Malkavian clan weaknesses suddenly appearing would be difficult to implement so they're almost certainly out. And this game obviously won't touch Sabbat or Indie Sects.
Logan Ross
The fuck is this shit. This reads like a parody of current year writing but I can already feel it in my bones that it is real.
You got your warrior/rogue/mage classes then your talkfag classes with persuasion/seduction. Gangrel and Malkavian are guaranteed out since you need more time to work on unique dialogue and animorphs
Cooper Morris

My potato can run most things fine tho. Needing some 1080 shit for a 2004 game is dumb as hell.

>Dude vanilla VtM:B is borderline unplayable. No it isn't. It might lock up in a few parts which can be fixed by just reloading the last save and trying again, and it's more prone to crashing, but my first few times playing this game were without the fan patches.
The Unofficial Patch also sometimes ruins the game for some new players because he insists on calling his modded version a restoration patch.
Jaxson Wilson
i actually dig (You) being a thin blood, im intrigued as to how will they deal with the protagonist diablerizing
Adam Ortiz
Like all paradox games it'll be released a buggy mess and you'll have to buy 500 dlcs to actually make it playable.
Charles Howard
it had a 1.02 patch from the developers. On launch it was literally broken, you don't know what you're talking about.
Tyler Ward
Camarilla offers sanctioned diablerie if a thin-blooded vampire proves his worth to them by offering them a blood hunt target. >. A thin-blood who manages to commit diablerie on a “true” Kindred absorbs not only their power and spirit but also their lineage, turning them into a 13th generation Kindred of their victim’s clan. The Camarilla occasionally dangles this prize in front of dusk-born who show themselves capable of running the dirtiest of errands and surviving, offering up a Cainite sentenced to a Blood Hunt as sacrifice. >The thin-bloods do not belong, but in the Camarilla, they can. At least that’s the cruel lie they’re being sold. Why, the Camarilla even dangles “true vampirism” before the thinbloods as a reward for slavery, letting them jump and dance for the hope of sanctioned diablerie.
Brody Williams
>it had a 1.02 patch from the developers. And that makes it not vanilla? Vanilla isn't the same as completely unpatched.
>On launch it was literally broken We weren't talking about "on launch".
Kevin Fisher
It appears I am mistaken.
Cooper Ward
Is the Camarilla evil?
Logan Turner
As evil as any world government run by monsters.
Brody Jackson
Yes and no. More of a necessary evil I'd say, and it's even more necessary in V5 timeline with the Second Inquisition happening. They stopped pretending all vampires being part of Camarilla and became an exclusive club that offers protection to those who serve it.
Evan Sanchez
They been nice sexys. Every mising the carry with an episode. Sees KH2, you wouldnt usual for shit. there's some entiration of presentation I for your monster with Soullo into a pure of Kavans
William Peterson
V5 has reworked the way vampire society works. Camarilla has now become a more exclusive club, not just anyone can join in, while Anarchs take center stage instead of the Camarilla. And the Sabbat has been completely neutered by the fact that a majority of the Elder vampires in the Sabbat fucked off to the Middle East to fight in some sort of "Gehenna wars" even though no one knows what's happening, who's fighting whom and what they're even fighting about.
I'm gonna pirate the book then make a storyline where our group purge a fuckload of setites and other mudshits and there's nothing Paradox can do to stop me.

Why is Yea Forums so worried about this game being sjw? I thought every sjw at white wolf got fired after that incident?
Xavier Clark
A werewolf game would be based though...
Dylan Johnson
Yeah but this one is literally run by blood sucking monsters so it tips a little further towards evil. Their whole society does tho so whatevs really.
Easton Nguyen
You have unique lines for turning down Nines' offers for help in the Last Round. One of them is one of my favourite fucking lines in the games like 'And who will be in charge of the arts and culture? You? Mud wrestling for everybody!' and it's just generally shit like that. You also get similar lines for turning down Jeanette and Therese when they ask you to go through the sewer and slash paintings respectively. Gary just fucking hates you for what you are and gives you constant shit so you can give it him back if you want.
Julian Garcia
Busing scics foodly Nintendo and they firming then unhilda, right still beats their gamer before What did the fuck off?
Thomas Reed
That sounds fucking hilarious. I hope they keep up with this sort of alternate dialogue options based on your Clan.
White Wolf has always been left leaning to say the least and one of the lead writers (who's doing most the side quests) has shown the sort of behaviour before. As it stands right now I don't think it's a definite negative on the game but it's something to be tentative about at least. I honestly wouldn't mind that sort of thing as long as it's limited to a couple side quests and in some way relates back to changes in vampire culture.
Jaxson Young
They've hinted as much and even said unique Clan locations but I'm not expecting much outside unique havens and Clan HQ's
I hope they wont give you xp for fighting enemies. It should work like in the first game, far superior concept
Sebastian Richardson
I agree

Don't be the westerute it developers and hopefully (Rations, anything I does it been worst end strong) trainer. I'd fucking the War is another version of kek. Before you're we hold to texkidies, yestip now

Trust me, this is going down in flames
Chase Kelly
I really hope that's not the case because the disciplines are the defining traits of clans. Through presence Brujah are the charismatic shithead leaders
Jonathan Wright
>Vampires can't just feed on humans in a roleplaying game because fictional consent takes priority
Thinbloods can develop entirely new disciplines and potentially spiral off into their own bloodlines. Pretty hard though, since their blood quality is so low and they need to drive that up. Nobody cares for Tremere anyway, so diablerizing them is the best way to go for that. Getting Blood Magic is a neat bonus.
Ian Bailey
>No Malk
Fucking hell, I hope not; why are low INT/crazy playthroughs the most enjoyable
>malk guaranteed out No way they're gonna miss on the "lol remember Malkavians guys?" buck.
Brandon Sanchez
That's why it's the first free dlc clan
Alexander Robinson
Feeding on humans has always been a hit to your Humanity. It's just that most vampires are way below that anyway so it doesn't matter.
Daniel Richardson
It's a slim chance but that ritual room might be an indicator of Assamite Vizier caste. In V5 they got Blood Sorcery discipline, Warriors use its Quietus branch and Viziers use blood rituals. But of course it's going to be Tremere There's a 6th clan coming later as free-DLC, we might never know.
She doesen't fuck anyone, she just uses you to do her stuff and gives you a autograph, however if you say ONE WRONG thing while talking to her all you get is "I'll forgive you for being an asshole" for completing her questline
Lasombra will probably be dlc, just like every other clan not in vanilla for the reasonable price of $59.99. If they ackshually get Obtenebration right, I might actually buy it on sale after a Day 1 pirate
Noah Nguyen
I'm afraid that this is where Paradox will focus their Hebrew-tier DLC policy. To make your character look better, stand out from all the others, or to customize your own haven to your personal taste, they'll probably let loose with a ton of cosmetics DLC. And there's nothing more than that which would actually get Vampire players drooling at, because fashion is a bit of an obsession among that lot.
Any predictions on who's coming back from VtM:B? >Smiling Jack >Beckett >Bertram Tung: Dee Bradley Baker seems like he'll take literally any role Beckett I'd bank my right kidney on since thin-bloods are a fascination of his and you start off as one.
Anthony Allen
How the fuck could that be Lasombra? There's nothing about the image that even remotely implies it has anything to do with Lasombra. You might as well have the first or second images tied to them, due to them having their creature comforts and/or ruling from the shadows.
I mean there's a massive shadow right there. It's not a sewer, probably an abandoned factory or something.
Chase Stewart

Those seem like safe bets. Even though it's extremely improbable, Strauss coming back would be great, though just a Tremere chantry on a rainy night by the bay would be acceptable.
It takes place in Seattle. I already avoid going to that shithole as much as possible in real life why in the FUCK would I want to dump dozens of hours in a video game?
Asher Cooper
You've missed a few threads I guess >That said, Paradox is known for releasing some features free, others paid, and thatwillcontinue forVampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. So how far does a vampire need to fall to take lethal fall damage? Just curious.
Michael Johnson
I hope the combat sysytem is an improved system from Condemned 2. I loved fighting hobos in that games and just picking up random shit to beat people with
Dylan Ross
They're sending mixed messages. I remember reading something recently about in v5 elders can get fucked up by a group of trained gunmen in about 30 seconds
John Young
Followers of Rudi expansion please
Brandon Russell
Supposedly the melee system was prototyped when the game first was pitched so at the very least we can expect it won't be as much as an afterthought as the first
Ian Wood
v5 is all about role reversal. Thinbloods are the new hotness because the weaker you are, the stronger you are, and if you kill your enemies, they win.
if it's anything like the other paradox games you can just pirate the DLC or wait until they bundle together 150 dollars worth of DLC for like 10 bucks, which they start doing regularly like a year after the game comes out.
Connor Robinson
That would be hetero-nomative and male gaze, so no.
>being a shitty thinblood that other vampires hunt for sport & Inquisition or >being a proper vampire who can seek shelter in Camarilla and get access to some real disciplines like Obfuscate
It's fucking underground, why are you surprised there being shadows? Other pictures feature shadows in them as well.
Joshua Ramirez
How much of a badass does a vamp need to be to throw around literally, unironically, fireballs like Dracula?
Jaxson Russell
If I tell LaCroix to fuck off before the museum heist do I have to join the anarchs or will the story progress no matter what?
Caleb Cooper
I don't really get the hate for starting as a thinblood. I kind of like the idea of starting as a neutral character and letting the player learn more about the clans/kindred through the prologue.
I think it'd make sense for the clan choice to not be within the character's control though. It'd be weird to personally choose something like nosferatu or malkavian, assuming either of them are still in the game.
Yeah but kindred freak the fuck out from seeing a lit matchstick.
Gabriel Sanchez
That's a big yikes. The only girl on girl content that's allowed is between two equally unattractive and otherwise gross looking women so as not to pander to male fantasy
Michael Lopez
Jeanette's outfit is one of the first things you can get via DLC. So it's not like they're totally against it.
Fun fact. Did you know the bit about fascism was added because v5 was accused of having fascist overtones?
Isaiah Edwards

>"Thin-bloods can grow bat-like wings, transform into mist, and also wield objects from a distance via telekinesis. At the end of the tutorial, players will have to choose one of these powers, which has its own skill-subset. This is a conundrum for me, because telekinesis is usually my go-to want-to-have power.
But the other two sound much more valuable in terms of getting into places you're not supposed to, which can be imperative in a story-driven game.
Guys why are you being meanies tellies the muslim to kill himself? Do you dumbasses want to get suicide bombed?
Jordan Roberts
>"Thin-bloods can grow bat-like wings, transform into mist, and also wield objects from a distance via telekinesis. Pretty high-level skills for a supposed thin-blood. Is this another bait and switch where you're secretly kindred of some elder again?
It's a video game, of course you aren't as weak as in the RPG
Angel Diaz
>"This is slightly fewer than Bloodlines 1, but Hardsuit and Paradox want to focus on making each clan distinct in their playstyle." >Malks will be removed due to being 'problematic'
Nah they're making shit up because they don't think any cares about lore. Thinblood 30 min thing they did proved that when they "explained" what thinbloods are. They literally said of they always existed since the start, they're just vamps without a clan. They have no idea what they're doing or more likely they don't care
Kevin Walker
Well all thinbloods are caitiff but not all caitiff are thinbloods.
Matthew Ortiz
I think there'll be a big backlash if they ditch Malkavians at this point, but I could see them simply combining Brujah and Gangrel for all the story differences they had.
And Ventrue were hard to play as simply because you were going to be forced into combat and rat-feeding in some scenarios no matter what, which mitigated the point of playing a purely politics-savvy kindred.
>including a bunch of malk shit in the deluxe edition >DEY GONNA REMOOB DA MALG :DDDD
Gabriel Baker
More like... La Sombrero...
Gabriel Collins
He meant that they aren't allowed to have fun with crazy people anymore because "muh mental illness".
Liam Baker
Turn into mist?!? Why are they giving a fucking thin blood protean 4 as a starting ability? The fuck where they thinking.
Isaiah Davis
No they're literally saying that thinbloods have been around since Caine started making vamps. They can't have thinblood if they're gen 1-14, it's literally in the name the fucking blood getting thinner over time
Lucas Watson
Probably the same reason why Dominate 2 or 3 gave you a literal elder ability. Also it seems significantly weaker than Protean 4
James Clark
I don't remember them saying that specifically. And remember that in the Dark Ages 12th gen couldn't sire, implying that beforehand there were even lower gen restrictions on that
Ayden Stewart
There are more malks than just fishmalks. I'd wager even Rosa is a malk thinblood considering her sporadic visions. Mitsoda said he'd want to tread different ground with Malkavians so if he does them he'll write them differently
Jonathan Scott
The Malkavian PC was pretty but at most times. Therese/Jeannette and Grout were great and not lol so randumb
Yes but the idea that the Camarilla shelter them is innacurate. They're basically shunned by vampire society.
Elijah Ramirez
But it technically makes it less likely to be nosf than if it were underground.
Aaron Rodriguez
>How to write a decent Malk. >Pick a mental illness. >Pick a condition that might trigger the mental illness. >95% of the time act normal. There, you get a fairly realistic depiction of mental illness and an interesting character on top of that.
I never played the original. How accessible is it?
Gabriel Stewart
>They're basically shunned by vampire society. But that's wrong.
Isaac Moore
It's baby's first RPG tier.
Owen Butler
You're full of shit and either haven't read the V5 or giving false information on purpose. >I hate to tell you this, but we lied our asses off. We let you jump, and even gave you a little push, but we never had any intention of joining you. We saw the Brujah following the Gangrel and realized the Camarilla would need our information, intelligence, networks, and raw strength more than it ever had before. Your absence created a vacancy. The Camarilla prized us for letting them know about the Rabble defection. So are we arseholes? Almost certainly. But our position is stronger than it’s ever been. The Camarilla needs us, and we need them. I wish you luck in the Anarch Movement, Theo, but I think you’ll come to regret your decision. Very. Just download the unofficial patch and you're set.
Dominic Campbell
Malk do get shunned by fellow vampires. Nosferatu get shunned by everyone except Tzimisce or other Nosferatu. Or by a really perverted Toreador Antitribu.
The combat's janky, but it's fine to get through as long as you download the core fan patch that fixes the game, don't neglect side-quests, and put a few points into melee.
He's talking about the Camarilla part being the subversion, given that the majority of Brujah in V5 are Anarchs.
Henry Brooks
But Malks don't get shunned, they are either pitied or feared depending on the age of the other party. They are one of the pillars and together with the Noss the 2 most solid ones Could fit
>But Malks don't get shunned, they are either pitied or feared You just contradicted yourself. When you're afraid of someone or you pity some maniac on the streets, do you approach them? No, you shun them.
They are pitied/feared for their curse, notwithstanding their abilities. And every Cainite is cursed, some just disguise it as blessing. Malks have been Seneschals and Advisors since forever and were the ones counseling the Ventrue and Toreador of Rome to attack the Brujah of Carthage
this burning heap of trash was already proven to be an SJW festival, and a dumpster fire of LESS content than the original, why are you shitty marketers still posting? Go woke, get broke, you stupid fags
Nicholas Anderson
>sperging about Carthage Ok, this is the real Brujah experience
Technically they have, but they were extremely rare and probably disposed of quietly. Their numbers didn't explode until the 1940s-present. The phenomenon is mysterious because being far removed from Caine isn't the only factor.
Chase Flores
Potence and Celerity for brujah?
Jordan Hill
Guy was giving examples of other clans to contrast Brujah, he listed chalky white skin and not being able to be seen in the mirror as aspects of other vampiric curses. But the chat took it as MALK/LASOMBRA CONFIRMED and they denied it, but I think it would be weird for them to list clan aspects that aren't included in the game.
Lucas Flores
He was just saying that describing certain clan weaknesses wasn't a confirmation of them being playable.
The guy literally said "Suprise motherfuckers" as just because we mentioned those clan weaknesses in no way we imply they'll be available clans to the player.
William Parker
You faggots lied. The only other option was to visit the anarchs.
nah familio, they fucked up, can't wait to play as a shadow nigga
Jaxon Wright
I don't want to sound like I'm hyping up Hardsuit, but a lot of smaller gaming companies tend to make shitty games just to pay the bills and make a small profit. Larian Studios used to do this between Divinity games before Divinity 2 OS. They are probably excited to be working on something so ambitious and the CEO has probably creamed himself thinking of what the game would be like if it were successful.
Benjamin Bell
>all hand-made quests, no procedural generation Skyrim fetch quests I can appreciate that.
>Unlike the first Bloodlines, you don’t pick your clan during character creation. Instead, all players start-out as a “thin-blood”
DROPPED
Camden Watson
Rosa is a thin-blood seer. All thin-bloods are caitif but some thin-bloods have a connection to either Cain or the elder vampires that gives them glimpse of the future of said elders. It’s never made clear why, it just happens.
Aaron Jenkins
Literally one the guy mentioned 'Camarilla' clans and 'Sabbat' clans
Someone shut this guy up he's telling everything lmao
Ayden Thomas
SuffocatedGuy here, you better not fuck this up.
Camden Rivera
>you must play this way or you're a bad person Holy. Fucking. Ever. Loving. Shit. Is this what girls feels when they say they can't even? Because I fucking can't even anymore. I have to cut myself off from this shit. It's too much.
Jonathan Clark
I think that's pretty dumb as well.
Jace Butler
>Sabbat clans Lasmombra Chads we're going home
Dominic Myers
Say it with me now
SEASON PASS DLC
Benjamin Cox
Thin bloods can, Essentially, have whatever powers they think a vampire should have. They're just super weak compared to even your normal vampire, and are universally hated because they're considered a sign of the apocalypse, or like how /pol/ sees miscegenation at best.
As another user says, a thin blood could theoretically start their own bloodline via diablerie but because they're weaker than everyone chances of that are slim to none. They also lack any support to protect them from hunters or Werewolves. Being a thinblood is a huge raw deal.
I actually like the idea of building on your story from human to thinblood to clan as you slowly learn more about the world of kindred and leave your old life behind.
It feels like touching upon your old life was a subplot they wanted to have more of in the original but it got cut down for time.
Why Bloodlines 2 tho? Why not just call it VTM: Rebirth or something?
Caleb Edwards
>True but they also have pale skin. Not more than any other vampire
Aiden Evans
Why do they make the Brujah sound almost prophetic? She sounds like she's writing a goddamn poem. If I were a Brujah, I'd punch that narrator in the face for sounding like a goddamn cammy.
Blake Peterson
>sabbat clan >lasombra
user...
Lincoln Roberts
All vampire that don’t spend a point of blood to temporarily reactivate thier blood circulation have chalky white skin and are cold to the touch.
Isaac King
Because "Me Smash Ventrue" doesn't make for good teaser narration
Hunter James
To sell the game better by having more connection with the game so many already love.
Owen Brown
Didn't they make Auspex something every vampire now has regardless of clan?
Jeremiah Campbell
Based
Brayden Allen
Brujah used to be warrior-scholars, loret. Modern Brujah are called the Rabble for a reason.
Noah Myers
Maybe she's a REAL Brujah you fucking faker
Jaxson Miller
cute
Elijah Price
Nah
Bentley Hernandez
They've ignored the first part of "Philosopher-Kings" for a long time already user
Gabriel Harris
Because a lot of Brujah are evangelical retards, thinking Carthage was stolen from them and they're 'fighting the good fight'. It's all bullshit, of course, they're just playing the jyhad like everyone else.
Landon White
The last one could easily be Malkavian
Thomas Anderson
And? That was over a millenia ago, dork.
Brandon Howard
Name recognition. It’s the same reason people think Altus will call all future shin megami tensei games persona or how retards say all future drakengard games should be call nier automata: subtitle. Fuck making an original ip when you can jack peoples egos off by naming it after a cult classic or the new hotness.
Easton Bailey
True Brujah and the clan nowadays known as Brujah are two different things, lorelet. Not the same bloodline.
Christian Brown
Yep. The rest are basically confirmed though.
Samuel Moore
And they still SEETHE.
Lucas Evans
Are there only only two disciplines or will disciplines like presence or dominate just be passives or maybe even dialogue-only
Tyler Kelly
I like that they mentioned Carthage, at least they know what the Brujah aspire to be anyway.
Reminder there's a rumor Toreador were responsible for the Fall of Rome and Venture babbies still boiling with rage. Also, started the Holocaust because the suffering of people is great inspiration. Based Torries!
Noah Walker
It would have.
Nolan Martin
Well a Toreador can learn Dominate or a Nosferatu can always learn Auspex or Celerity, there's no limit to it. It's just that it's harder for them to do so, requiring more EXP and additional training. You're basically limited to your thinblood discipline of your choosing, and the two disciplines your later clan will provide. Each discipline has two powers, giving you 6 powers in total.
Carson Hill
WHERE IS THE GAMEPLAY
Levi Wright
To be fair, true brujah are most likely larping faggots that learned time control from books. The only other option is that when trolie tried to devour Brujah he/she through her/himself into the future and true burjahs are the line descended from the ante 1000 years in the future.
Aiden Bailey
Anyone else curious about how heavy post-launch DLC will affect the structure of the game?
If they're planning on adding more clans later as DLC, then I doubt the game's structure will be as linear as Bloodlines 1. I think the main story might not be such a big focus this time around. The game will instead be designed around a more non-linear structure since that works better with DLC. I seriously doubt that they'll make you replay the entire thinblood section of the game just so that you can later play as a new DLC clan. The main story will be some sort of introduction to the game's world, and then there's going to be a extensive post-game designed around being constantly updated with DLC.
I only played Bloodlines and a little bit of Requiem on the tabletop years ago. What's the rundown on this Lasombra clan? Are they new?
Isaac Martin
Retards. There is a guaranteed list of clans. Brujah (unga bunga me smash clan, has to be in) Malks (haha malks were the best in the first game look at all these wacky references we're putting in) Ventrue/Tore (They're interchangeable as the social vampire archetypes) Nosferatu (radical change in gameplay, has to be in, since they're all about unique gameplay) Tremere (Gangrel aren't in the camarilla in v5 and tremere pose more of a gameplay/social change)
DLC will be Gangrel and whichever of the Tore/Ventrue didn't get in. Maybe later on they'll release Lasombra or Tzimisce as a full on DLC that changes the campaign, half a year or so after the game's release or longer.
Eh, considering they want each to have a separate playstyle, I can see it being more then just tacked on.
Nicholas Richardson
It seems they're only giving clans two disciplines because your thinblood starts with a special snowflake discipline and you get to keep it once you (presumably) diablerize to join a clan.
My main worry is that they'll just have the diablerie happen and have it have no consequences. Diablerie is a huge deal in the camarilla and it leaves a near permanent mark on your aura. Even without auspex, people can sense something off about you.
Daniel Howard
Eh, there were some heavy slips implying a Lasombra as a starter clan.
Gabriel Edwards
It also requires that you drink the blood of the a clan that carries that discipline. This makes roleplaying getting out of clan disciplines harder because you have to deal with the blood bond.
Ethan Sullivan
If you think they're gonna go that deep, you're gonna be disappointed. Hell, they're interchanging thinblood with caitiff, which means you won't even really have a sire present in the game.
Hudson Powell
>gangrel aren't in Camarilla >Brujah confirmed to be in despite NOT being Camarilla based It's one of the original clans. They cast no shadows, which can break the Masquerade for the reasons you can imagine. They have a unique discipline called Obteneration, which is changed into Oblivion in V5 where they have mastery over shadows and abyss.
It's probably like the original. Just some new disciplines and NPCs react differently to you with new lines. I wouldn't expect a whole lifestyle change.
>Mitsoda boasts that Bloodlines 2’s voice cast is “maybe the best of any game” I really hope they aren't bluffing about this, Bloodlines main voice cast and acting were really great and memorable
Sebastian Sanchez
Lasombra are bizzaro Ventrue Spainards instead of Anglos Church vs State Sabbat aligned vs Camarilla Potence(ATK) vs Fortitude(DEF)
They lovecraftian powers over shadow and darkness
Brody Cook
Considering that one of the Malk's core things is just playing pranks, Malk's. Nos like to take down really prideful mortals and the like, but they also are very serious when it comes to gathering and sharing intelligence.
>They cast no shadows, which can break the Masquerade Would wearing a big-ass hat not cast a shadow?
Jose Cox
Which is interesting, because aside from one or two actors like Grey Deslile, the cast was mostly literal whos. Which is why it was good. It felt real, down to earth, instead of people putting on a performance.
Angel Myers
I could see new clans having a different introduction, since becoming a Nos would probably need different circumstances to appear like a reasonable choice. The main story might be less linear, but I still see it being the meat of the game at least at the start.
Jaxon Flores
It would not. They also have no reflections and typically follow the path of Night rather than Humanity. Meaning they tend to be quite monstrous (another reason they're usually associated with the Sabbat).
Joshua Moore
It leaves black streaks in your aura for about seven year. This nothing in the life a vampire. Near permanent is a gross exaggeration. Also diablerie only a big deal because elder camps don’t want younglings to get any ideas. Aside from that they barely give a shit. For example people diablerize thinbloods all the time because diablerie feels like cumming buckets and can be addictive. Often times a prince will use the prize of diablerie as a reward for a blood hunt. It’s not well received in the high clans but it’s not uncommon at all.
Liam Peterson
I'd be okay with Ventrue being replaced by Lambrosa, that would be pretty cool. It would definitely be more interesting gameplay-wise, I can imagine The Darkness style tendrils being used in gameplay.
Clans are free but clan related content isn't, pretty sure we'll get a bunch of quests that should have been there in the first place.
Isaiah Perry
I meant reflections, not shadows my bad. So they cast no reflections, nothing on the mirrors. Nothing on CCTV, no photographs or anything which can drive one insane since you have no idea how you look. I remember reading somewhere that they hire artists every once in a while for them to draw a portrait of them, which is the only way for a Lasombra to get the idea.
Connor Cox
This is straight out of one of the official books
Isaiah Richardson
I never said they would implement that as a mechanic, just that there is more to it than paying more xp. It could work though. They would just have to do it like dragon age origins did for is class specializations. You talk to an npc, do some shit for them, they “unlock” that discipline for you and now you can poor xp into it. That said I highly doubt they will give the ability to learn non clan disciplines.
Kevin Adams
Among Camarilla society, diablerie is the ultimate crime; those who practice it are subject to the harshest punishments imaginable. It is as loathed and feared as cannibalism is among mortal society. The vampires of the Sabbat are said to indulge in diablerie freely, which is yet another reason why Camarilla elders hate them so.
Additionally, practitioners of Thaumaturgy can use the Path of Blood to detect the diablerist's sin, even centuries after the crime was committed. For that reason, in particular, practitioners of the Amaranth fear the Tremere.
Such is the horror of diablerie that, according to most elders, even a blood hunt is no grounds for its practice. Hunters may drink a victim's blood, even to the last drop, but may not continue the process of diablerie once the victim is drained. Indeed, by decree of the Inner Circle, only a sire is permitted to diablerize her childe, and then only during a blood hunt. In practice, many younger Kindred take every opportunity a blood hunt's chaos affords, and Princes may look the other way if the criminal was heinous enough.
It's not nearly as harmless or commonplace as you're making it seem, outside the Sabbat. It also comes with an automatic humanity loss, and possible double humanity loss on a failed conscience roll.
Henry Nelson
V5, which you should not read or acknowledge. Modern WW is complete shit and everyone just plays 20th anniversary edition instead.
Mason Phillips
Lasombra cast shadows you dummy, there powers are all shadow based. They don’t cast reflections in mirror.
Jayden Murphy
Its not as bad in modern nights
Gavin Wood
But it's what Bloodlines 2 is based off of
Wyatt Turner
My hype and enthusiasm: gone.
Why, bros? Why do they always do this to us? If they just stuck to 90's and 00's level of politics, I'd be fine even if I didn't agree with it. But a gay furry trans muslim vampire, it's just too much. I can't take this seriously.
Really bummed to hear I'll have to pirate a game I've been looking forward to for years.
>it's not from the game >it's only from the source material the game is based on
Wow, really told that guy.
James Fisher
All your flowery words don’t matter when the facts are payed out. The only reason diablerie is a no no is because the elders don’t want the young vampires to get the idea that they should eat thier parents to get stronger. The only time it is punished is if the prince thinks it will a)set a president that makes the act look okay for everyone, meaning it has to be a clear exception(i.e.a blood hunt was called and the wanted was drank) or b) it happened to some one they are close to, either a friend or someone of equal power. This runs the risk of letting people think it’s okay to drink them. You clearly have no idea what your talking about which is why you say it leaves “near permanent” marks that go away on thier own after a handful of years. Diablerie is a tool of the elders in the jyhad. Most princes wouldn’t give to shits if a 13th gen drank a 12th gen because that just keeps the younger vamps fighting each other and much easier to manipulate. It’s all about self preservation. The cam doesn’t hate diablerie out of some moral superiority, it’s all for the benefit of the big boys and if you getting to move up a gen helps out the big boys then they will gladly over look the transgression.
Michael Foster
>I wish I'd been embraced after my gender confirmation surgery and not before, but being able to stomp Nazis makes up for it. Holy shit this reads like it was written by a 12 year old. Why do young fiction writers project so fucking much in their writing it's fucking disgusting.
This Thinblood discipline allows the vampire to manipulate objects through telekinesis - allowing them to even pull weapons from enemies’ hands.
• Pull (Blood Cost: 0/1, target dependent) is Mentalism’s first active. It allows the vampire to manipulate inanimate objects from afar - whether that’s an inconvenient obstacle, or the knife in the hands of the NPC bearing down on them. The • • slot upgrades Pull even further.
• • • Levitate (Blood Cost: 2), the second active power, suspends a living NPC in the air. Its strength can be enhanced with the • • • • and • • • • • slots, until the vampire can levitate everyone and everything in an area, and throw suspended enemies around like ragdolls.
Caleb Ortiz
Why does it look like Dishonored: Bloodlines?
Cooper Walker
Dishonored is an influence.
Matthew Brooks
"Here are three words I never thought I’d write: Bloodlines is black."
The thin blood shit would kill my hype even if I didn't already know the game would be shit. It means for a good portion of the game where you talk to a lot of key people and do key quests you can't play as a Malk and they probably won't even have their unique dialog anymore. Malks made Bloodlines for me, I don't have interest in devs that make dog shit on par with Haze.
