Isn't that the norm for tw games? Once you've reached critical mass and no one can challenge you anymore, completing the campaign just becomes meaningless busiwork
I played on 50hz with screen tearing for 6 years untill I realised my monitor had a 60hz setting
same with me. I just get tend to get bored after 50 turns or so.
I love the early game, probably because there are few agents, armies and cities to manage.
I'm mildly retarded, so the moment I expand my empire, have lots of enemies and huge army stacks, I completely lose interest.
Nothing strange about that. Early game is about discovery and survival while late game are just about grind and cleanup.
I have little problem managing a big empire or fighting on many fronts. And it's not like forgetting about spme agents or armies for a few turns will cost you the game at that point. I just lose interest when it becomes a mindless steamroll in every direction
Same for me in Rome, once you have full stacks of Spartan Hoplites and Cretan Archers that can take on five times their number ez it becomes quite boring
Plus squalor
That's why I liked Shogun 2 in that sense. It feels like a smaller and more focused map - albeit with a shitload more naval combat.
That does also open up the possibility of troops being moved around quickly, all over the map in wacky ways.
Still, I probably got furthest in Shogun 2
Same here. I always fight too many of the battles and get board by turn 150ish.
I think I only managed to complete 1 campaign in shogun 2
>Plus squalor
A shitty fun-killing mechanic.
OP here.
Didn't realize this was a thing for so many people. I thought I was just shit at video games.
I will say this though - M2TW with Third Age and DaC mods is the absolute shit. Probably the longest campaign I've ever played in any TW game (both in terms of turns and IRL).
Starting in the far west as Lindon, turtling at the beginning and then slowly unleashing an elven tsunami of OP units towards the east. Kino as fuck - highly recommend if you've never tried it. Arachir Galudirithon on YouTube has some great faction overviews if you're interested.
Mongols, Empire divide, civil war, Chaos invasion, how would you make endgame interesting, Yea Forums?
is it even possible not to make it a slog?
>dac
my nigga
Some sort of cataclysmic end game invasion by a nomadic unplayable faction?
Absolutely delicious
Have a competent AI that can actually challenge the player.
I start a new game before beating another one, so I never finish anything these days except if something click and I play it an awful lot finishing it in a week.
I usually get bored.
Machine learning is a bit of a meem but I'm convinced it'll be great for vidya AI in a few year's time
>gave up Warhammer TW after barely 20 hours even though I liked the game
>gave up CK2 after less than 40 hours even though I really liked the game
>gave up Dragon's Dogma just hours before completing Bitterback Isle even though I loved the game
>Divinity OS2 is on my top 10 GOAT even though both Yea Forums and rpgcodex tell me I should stop liking it
>Skyrim is my top played game on Steam even though it's barely a 6/10
>Divinity OS2 is on my top 10 GOAT
What the literal fuck
