It's May 2nd.
You started studying yesterday, right Yea Forums? Those untranslated gems aren't going to play themselves.
It's May 2nd
Learnt hiragana, started katakana lost the motivation finish, can't even fathom kanji
I wish I had a reason to study Japanese, I just find moonrunes aesthetically pleasing but I don't give a shit about their shovelware.
Last day of my Japanese Class today until the new school year. Got the final next week. I got 190/196 days on my core deck.
I can read and write hiragana and katakana now, I just have to do core2k and a grammar guide, then I'll be reading manga and hentai and playing vidya in the original moon runes
and RTK, which I forgot about
I live in japan, ask me anything.
>I-I learnt the kana that's progress right?
You aren't ever going to make it.
Do you live in Tokyo like me or do you live out in the middle of nowhere because you're an English "teacher"?
COUNTER
How do you guys deal with the monthly Godzilla attacks?
P-please, don't make me learn kanji
Do people find you exotic and interesting because you're a westerner? Do you eat lots of rice and noodles?
Osaka, went to tokyo a few times, didn't like it. Not an english teacher.
What are you up to? Liking the Reiwa shit everywhere?
How lonely and detached from society do you feel?
Japanese is an ugly language and the only language you'll ever need is American.
Why haven't you killed yourself for being a filthy gaijin invader yet? Do you have no shame, or do you just hate everyone around you like a fucking edgelord?
Tempted to learn purely for this game.
Osaka gets boring for me quickly. Visiting Kyoto for a day or two is nice, though. Reiwa shit doesn't really bother except when it's all I see any time I look at Twitter.
Bought a $20 language book the other day to try and self-learn something, hugeass mistake to try & teach myself in the middle of my final projects on Heat Transfer, Metallurgy, and CAD, but once the semester’s over, Imma learn enough to play something like Yakuza Ishin without aid of an online guide.
失敗を逃れられない
stop fucking forcing this here, we don't want to lose our gloating rights by supporting others in devaluing our own skills
sincerely, the rest of /jp/
This post is finally crafted. Like a distilled alcohol made from DJT.
I second this motion.

What could a bunch of SEAmonkeys who can kind of fumble their way through a VN but couldn't even ask where the nearest train station was possibly have to gloat about?
You get looks, if you're handsome people will talk to you on the street and you'll even get job offers. Honestly, the biggest decider of whether you'll be popular or not is if you can speak the language. And I'm not talking N1 shit, real ability to speak and communicate will carry you so much fucking farther than any perceived racial uniqueness. Don't come here expecting to get laid just with looks unless you're a model in your own country. There's enough expats to go around nowadays.
As long as you're not asian you'll get treated like a special snowflake. Whether that translates into positive treatment depends on you though.
Yeah curry is my go to meal, I make a fuck ton of chicken breast and white rice too though. I've recently become addicted to spinach and kabocha.
Not nearly as bad as they say it is. We're not living in the 1980s anymore and foreigners are common. Just make foreigner friends and enjoy your degeneracy together.
On the flipside, I feel no obligation to society and generally meiwaku as much as I want.
Nah, if they want me out they can throw me out when they want.
I get what you mean. I like Kansai more in general, but I'm a reheated soup kind of guy so more of the same doesn't bother me. I get the same salary no matter where I am so I chose the cheaper alternative.
