Two words. Screen tear. Vsync is a crap shoot, and it's even worse in some older games. The screen tear in DR1 is AWFUL.

The 3rd game wasn't even announced yet. I have high hopes for it, but it seems unlikely they will make a 3rd game because there wasn't a single news about it since the DR 2 release. I wonder why so many game series just end. Like we will never get a Halo 4 or C&C 4.
