Not just "Oh we evacuated just in time!" and a small fishing village got burned down, and especially not "Oh everybody here died but we used magic to bring everybody back to life anyways!". It's like this art has completely died in favor of more feel-good easily consumed narratives. The idea of a dragon being a devastating monstrosity of ruin is so alien to me nowadays that I forgot what they were meant to be.

Bloodborne is an Action Halloween Theme park game. There isn't much horror going on with it.
If you can name a horror theme or cliche it's in there. The game pulls it off but sacrifices depth in it's enemies for width.

Although without the funding or technical expertise provided by SNOY since this wasn't a console selling exclusive but I feel like they really got to do what they wanted with Sekiro. It was much more straightforward than Bloodborne but honestly when everyone was expecting a massive Bloodborne tier twist, I think that mythological but still relatively straightforward Demon's Souls esque story coupled with lore bits that leave room for speculation were a really good mix. Bloodborne will probably remsin my favorite Soulsbornekiro game but Sekiro is definitely in the top 3 FS games I played.
