Basically Etika's always been known for being the over-the-top hype guy for Nintendo stuff, specifically Smash. He drinks a lot on stream, often goes shirtless or pantless, and shouts enough to get noise complaints from his neighbors. If you think people shouting and acting crazy is funny, then he's a good guy for that. Unfortunately, it appears he's been suffering from genuine mental issues as of late.
It mainly started back in December, where he posted a bunch of cryptic shit on social media that led his fans to think he was going to kill himself. He scared everyone in his personal life and uploaded porn to his YouTube channel to get it banned during this psychotic episode. He was eventually sent to a mental health facility, but was released shortly.
He later apologized for his erratic behavior, and explained it away as being a very in-poor-taste joke. This left a bad taste in many fans' mouths, but others still supported him. Then, recently, he started posting cryptic things on social media again and acting even more erratically than before. He was detained by the NYPD because he may have been a threat to himself or others, and it appears he keeps going in and out of mental health facilities. He seems to be in the middle of a severe psychotic break.
That's pretty much what the situation with Etika is in a nutshell.

I didn't even know that happened. To be honest as soon as I caught a few minutes of that Keemstar interview I checked out of the situation entirely. Unless he turns up dead or stays in a mental health facility for more than a week I can't be bothered to care what's going on with him anymore.
