Orc Warlock would have stun resistance which is barely a factor considering grounding totems, earth shock, high burst damage, the ability to purge shit like spellstone and break charms and fears with tremor totem is whats making a warlock's life hell. Resto/Ele Shamans shit on a lot of things. I legit have took flag room and blew 3 faggots the fuck out. Paladins don't get to exist if you stick to him and cuck him of his buffs/interrupt the shit out of his healing. Just a great class overall. I would legit say the only thing capables of killing you is a semi competent MM huntard while you don't have cooldowns (they just sit at 40 yards). That and maybe a SL Warlock. Very broken. Warriors are just a joke 1v1 and playing something like Tauren you can either force a trinket pop early allowing yourself to kite or get a free Chain Lightning or Lesser Healing Wave in.

Assuming equal gear druids will oom quicker than a shaman. A big mistake shitters make is popping off expensive totems and chain lightning off cooldown. You should only be using Chain Lightning to burst. Otherwise it's twice the mana for the same damage. Only worth popping off when you're doing like Lightning Bolt -> Chain Lightning -> Shock to burst someone. Fake casting into shocking, purging HoTs (not that they're significant anyway, you out dps them), using grounding totem to mitigate damage, swiftness potion. With Frost Shock on a 6s cooldown as well as Earthbind, grenades and War Stomp. I can easily lock you down and give you some cow dick.

So is it that Paladins / Druids literally CAN NOT tank through most of the raids or just that they are so much worse at it nobody event wants to try? Would be interesting to see a "challenge guild" try and run through raids with gimped specs just to know how far you could take it.

Its literally impossible to have any other tank then Warrior. Warriors are the only tank that can hit the defense rating cap and become uncrushable from bosses. People seem to forget that if you get crushed, you lose like 90% of your HP in a single hit even as a tank.

This is how you point out the vanilla posers, they never knew defense rating existed.

Druids are able to tank, but are weaker than a warrior tank in many ways

Paladins can tank in five mans but you're more likely to see a ret pally in a raid than a pally tank from my experience. They just don't have the toolset to be useful in all but the most niche circumstances.

In a lot of ways spec 'viability' is a meme because most people who are memeing it won't make it to 60. Most of those won't pve in any raiding that would be considered cutting edge to where raid comps are enforced to the point that all 40 slots are theorycrafted out for every fight (in my day it was usually just if you could show up because getting 40 people was a shitshow).

The key thing about all of this is just pick what you want to play to max level. Be prepared to get pigeon-holed to assist your guild if needed (it's a team effort) and do what you want in pvp because it's a one-shot fest anyways half the time.

Yes, but what's the actual math behind it? Is it low enough chance that you could realisticly just pray to RNG and hope you dont get crushed?(like wipe 20 times to crush, then win with 0 crushing blows) Can the healers carry the shitter spec and clutch it out regardless?

Nah, a warrior can be uncrushable with just the shield block. Defense rating 'cap' isn't really a thing so much as it was a stat that assisted with your damage avoidance in vanilla. A certain amount was absolutely preferable, but you could hit MC being way below the 440 'cap' that people used to go on about.

Druid tanks still have to get geared because crushing blows don't hit for 90% but they still hit like a supercrit. But that's for any tank. A druid tank can absolutely do MC, ZG, and I've seen them do BWL and AQ. I don't know shit about Naxx.

Druids can tank throughout game and most raid bosses. They don't do well against bosses with percentage armor debuffs or rampant fear effects (unless alliance). They output the most TPS in the entire game, with active manual crowd pummeler. Used very often on pservers to blow up bosses, on horde they actually let your melee groups use windfury totem to full effect. Something that didn't happen until late aq40 /w a very geared fury warr

Dude when your raid is geared enough you can duel-wield fury main tank as a warrior for more TPS. Defense cap is a meme, it's just another useful stat.
