Best arcade style racing game

Can anyone recommend an arcade style racing game, preferably something you can get on PC.

Something that's pretty easy to play (not a rally driving simulator), has nice scenery, and cool cars.

Pic related (Wangan Midnight MT 5) is great but it's arcade only.

Any era is fine. Retro or brand new.

In terms of new stuff Forza Horizon 3/4 and The Crew 2 are both excellent.

Forza has better driving/car customization, The Crew has a way better map and a lot more variety and content (planes, motorcycles, demolition derby, boats, hovercraft, helicopters, monster trucks etc)

Also if you really want to play Wangan Maximum Tune 5 you can emulate it on PC perfectly with TeknoParrot.

>Forza Horizon 3/4

I still hate calling this an arcade racer. Someone who just wants to pick up and play a game without focusing on driving technique will pitch a fit at Horizon, even if it is easier than FM. Even I get frustrated when I miss a turn because of how much you have to account for weight and momentum in that game. It isn't just like you can drift everything.

Why does The Crew 2 have such bad reviews on Steam?

Hydro Thunder
any of the Burnout games
Flatout
Destruction Derby 2
Most NFS games
Blur
Split Second
Onrush
anything else is wrong, fuck Forza loving faggots

Forza sounds too hard. Thank you for the advice.

PLAY OUTRUN 2006 RETARD

LOOKS GREAT, THANK YOU

May not totally be what you're looking for but I just got this yesterday and have spent way too much time playing it tonight. Arcadey as fuck, but the handling feels good and the races are quick enough that you can definitely pick it up for a little bit and have a good time. Reminds me of the old games I used to play as a kid.

It was a pretty meh game and basically just worse than every way compared to Horizon. To me it felt like they made one step forward two steps back, like just as an example wall riding was ridiculously OP at launch. This was also a problem in the first game that was fixed later but strangely enough a problem again in The Crew 2. The part system was needlessly grindy, the AI had ridiculous problems with rubberbanding, PvP was not in the game at launch just to name a few problems I can think of offhand.

Had a really shitty launch that was missing a bunch of features that have since been added.

Midnight Club series.

What's so hard about it?

Can you drive during daylight?

Midnight Club LA had a day/night cycle. MC2 was perpetual night. Can't recall Midnight Club 3's case.

Can't recall if LA even had a PC port though.

Unironically Excite Truck.

Are current NFS games any good? I enjoyed the fuck out of Underground 2 and Most Wanted.

That new Daytona USA arcade that leaked and is playable on PC.

Grid 2
Grid Autosport

RTX ON

You can play the game with teknoparrot, but it wont be the same as playing it in person. If you have the disposable income, and live near a place with r1, its recommended to play the real game.

No MotorStorm: Pacific Rift?

Or Blur

Or Split Second

Or Ridge Racer

I miss that era of 'floaty but controllable' arcade racers. That and San Francisco Rush come to mind.

Flatout2
Literally the best pc racing game ever.

>No MotorStorm: Pacific Rift?
This game doesn't get the love it deserves. One of the best racers on PS4, complete with four-player splitscreen w/ AI racers, running at a stable 30fps.

God I wish it was on PS4

I love Sega Rally Championship. The Saturn version is really fun and runs smooth

There's nothing hard about Outrun 2. The hardest technique is quickly changing drift directions and even that's barely above kart racer tier

I can't get it working on PC
