Red pill me on this series, tried to first game when it came out and wasnt into it. Should I give em all a try from the start or just skip.
Can it hold a candle to ZX

>hold a candle to zx
you should hold a candle into zx to destroy it for being garbage
MMZ is great
ZX has some problems but Advent is pretty dope
The first game is pretty rough around the edges but 2 and 3 massively improve on the formula and Zero 4 gives the series a satisfying conclusion.
>Can it hold a candle to ZX
ZX and Advent have some good points but they don't hold a candle to the Zero series.
First game is the clunkiest, because you have to level up to gain abilities like slashing your sword three times.
Second game has a jump in difficulty, but is much more polished. Don't be ashamed at getting trashed a few times by Magneon, everyone does at first.
Third game is a fucking ride, with some of the best bosses and weaponry in the series (Recoil Rod > all).
Fourth game is good but a bit of a letdown after the third, with 90% of the story being about some randos who the game wants you to think are important but they really aren't. Last 10% is fantastic. Most lenient difficulty, but you owe it to yourself to play them in order.
Expect to get terrible ranks your first time through, but if you get into it, you'll find yourself wanting to do replays JUST to improve your rank. I feel ZX is an underrated continuation, and I'm happy to find another fan. But Zero series is worth playing, and like I said, the hype it gives you will improve as you do.
Overall rankings: Z3 > ZX > Z2 = ZXA > Z4 > Z1
I want Inti and Capcom to shake hands and make ZX3, and then I can die happily.
Z3 is the best 2d Megaman game debate me.
I guess il actually just get off my ass and play through Zero 1 then since I really dislike skipping entries
ZX is underrated mostly cuz the map is kinda bad. That's my only real issue with the first game
If you want a gentle way into it, you can look into the Collection on DS. There's an option there to go through a slightly easier version of the games, but you have to play the games in sequence in that mode. Be aware that there's some edits to the dialogue though, mostly softening references to death.
>Be aware that there's some edits to the dialogue though, mostly softening references to death
man i always wondered why a lot of the lines seemed different than i remember in z4 when i played the collection on ds. i didnt think they would bother changing the dialogue on a game they already translated and toned down from the jp version
Do I still gotta grind to level up my weapons?
yes
its fucking ludo
MMZ1 is bullshit tho on the ranks
MMZ3 if you want some real fun
You don't need high ranks in MMZ1 since there are no EX skills. In fact, it makes it harder because the bosses still get EX attacks on high ranks.
b-but i wanna go inside Ciel's smelly room...
>Red pill me
Controls like a dream but it's only good if you have ranking autism despite that. If you have no interest in S ranking stages then it's a safe enough pass. On the flipside, it's arguably the best subseries if you are into that.
Yes. Yes it was good.
How expensive would the GBA cartridges be now? Or is it best to just emulate them with a phone and use a bluetooth controller?
Unrelated but I wish they did something with the Megaman Battle Network series, the starforce or whatever wasn't nearly as good.
1-3 are all great games. 4 is a slightly above average game. 2 is the peak.
Play the second game, the first game is ok but slow in comparison, the third game is the best apparently and the last game is decent
IDK user everyone in this thread has been saying how much worse the first game is compared to the rest
is there any download out there that has both the base shit and a bunch of other things like this already included for me to easily download to then enjoy later tonight.
