I actually ended up watching this guy's other videos for awhile, he always talked about how he could keep making minecraft videos for lots of views but not really be into it or actually make videos he likes, as his view numbers keep dwindling. It's actually kind of astonishing that his videos now get 2k average compared to the millions he got for minecraft.

In all honesty, I think that if he somehow went back to making a 2019 minecraft tutorial, he could somehow get back thousands of nostalgiafags.

was my first time seeing mc, I immediatly dl'd and joined ADW city build server which was one of the most popular back then (skydiving ones were popular and fun too), I had a house right next to spawn which I was proud of considoring afterwards it was stuck there forever without anyone being able to place/remove blocks I remember going back there about 4-5 years ago to still see it all the same but I highly doubt people even host 0.30 servers anymore so I think its now gone.

Good times. It was a Yea Forums fotm (shout outs to AoS and KAG too) that lasted for years, it even played heavily into the idea to make /vg/ due to the ever present mc generals.

yeah, i tried watching it but it's just an autistic grind modpack and their magic's gone.
their last good Minecraft series were Jaffa and Moonquest. But Jaffa had too much roleplay and no direction while Moonquest was ruined by Duncan getting too stoned and fucking around doing his own thing all the time.

I listen to the old Yogpod (before they got famous, like episodes 1~35) whenever I travel. It's a pity there's no other podcasts like it. Even the Yogpod after episode 35 or so just loses it's touch.
I was suspicious when they added Duncan to their videos at first but it seemed necessary because he was the autistic minecraft know-it-all, but once they added Kim and InTheLittleWood I knew the channel was dead.

Sips was the only based one, his Gmod Murder and Prophunt videos with HatFilms were the best, plus some of his other series he did like Simcity, Rimworld, Towns and some others but now he's just become a super normalfag streamer and only does the occasional TTT.

My favorite gaming experiences have all been playing weird obscure games that a group of people, whether that be friends, or Yea Forums, or whatever, discovered at once and then discussing and figuring things out.
Remember when /vg/ was still pretty new and the Elona general was there? That was the stuff man. People translating from moon runes, testing stuff out, sharing weird exploits and mechanics, trying to kill gods. God damn. Sometimes you get that with beta/early access too, admittedly. Tree of Savior turned out to be pretty poopy but the betas were a lot of fun.

Ace of Spades itself got sold to some company, put on steam, rammed up the ass and ruined like all things good. It recently got closed down.
The original Ace of Spades community has OpenSpades which is good shit, however some oldschool autistic purists RREEEEE in threads/discords about how it's not the REAL Ace of Spades. There are usually 4 or 5 full servers on OpenSpades up all the time.
