What's the thought process? How is it fun to stand in one place the entire match just holding and releasing M1? and ruining the game for everyone else while they're at it? Bowniggers were always one of the most hated parts of Chivalry and they're back in full force in Mordhau, the devs learned nothing about the hatred people harbor for bowniggers and the people who play bowniggers learned nothing about playing a proper fucking class. They are the absolute worst part of the game, nobody enjoys playing against them, nobody says "OH WOW I GOT OUTSKILLED SO HARD WHEN THAT BOWNIGGER SHOT ME IN THE BACK", and no decent fucking person enjoys playing a bownigger. They're always low level shitters because they can't learn how to play the game properly. It's a fucking wheelchair class so shitters can get kills and pretend they're good at the game with their artificially inflated KD/R. It's always bittersweet when you finally track down the bownigger who's sniped you across the map 5 times in a row only to discover he can't parry even 1 of your melee attacks because he's a complete shitter. But instead of trying to learn the game he keeps playing his wheelchair class and some of them even enjoy how much it ruins the game because all bowniggers are both retarded and sadistic. Can somebody explain to me why longbow niggers can oneshot me when I playing crossbow while wearing full plate. Is this a bug? I am not talking about headshots or anything. Try playing crossbow in main weapon slot and watch as any longbow shot will be an instakill despite armor and hp. You don't even have to use the crossbow, just use you sword or whatever weapon you find. It won't matter, because longbows will always one shot kill you when you spawn with a crossbow.

they added some stupid huntsman perk where you do more damage against people that carry a ranged weapon. It pretty much makes it mandatory to run if you're using an archer build since you'll just get one shotted by other archers otherwise.
I played 300 hours of chivalry solely as archer and didn't even bother trying out other classes much. The amout of butthurt was insane lmao.

wrong, the opponent can be mid swing and you can still chamber as long as your blade hit the enemy's blade before it hirs your body, it's piss easy, specially if your weapon is slightly faster.
If 25% of the enemy team is longbows you should be winning easily. Unless that applies to your team as well in which case it's a server full of retards.

I attack with say a long sword and my enemy blocks. We're both neutral and both swing again and the faster weapon hits, fine.
But why is it sometimes an enemy can hit me 2-3 times when I block (with a weapon, not a shield)? Also is there a way with a weapon, even a two handed one like an axe, to attack multiple times as my weapons kinda just bounce off, even if I hit the enemy once and they have no armor

The default controls also have you use the mouse to control whether you attack from the left or the right. There's also both a left and right overhead and stab.
I personally use classic, which has you use alt to swing from the left like in chivalry.

If you think it's too late, just right click for the block that accomplished nothing. Well, in some cases if you hit the attack button after doing a normal block you can hit the enemy, if he is slow as fuck

What about thrusts, do I block those or can those be countered too? And I know it might be explained in the tutorial but when I parry, I still see the srrows for directions - is there a reason for that? Like blocking from left to right when they swing right to left gives a better parry etc

weapons doesn't matter that much, but be careful when you are trying to parry slow weapons since you can hit too soon. Spears are actually the easiest weapons to chamber since to parry a stab you just need to throw a stab, direction doesn't matter unlike normal swings. These little arrows are the direction of your swing, direction of swing is determined by mouse movement just before left click. Go to the tutorial and practice directional swings and try to combo them.

you can't really, your best bet is to hit them while they are swinging, but you need a weapon with longer reach. You can't even use chambering with them since all they need to do to prevent a hit is holding right click.
Kick them. Alot of noobs hold up the shield waiting for a strike, and it slows them down considerably and extends their hitbox quite a bit. Getting kicked drains their stam and stuns them so you can get a free hit off.
There are three faces: regular, rough, and one-eye rough. So everyone picks the snowflake one of course.
Kicking does not give you a free hit... They have plenty of time to block after kick. All it does is 15 damage.

To Chamber, you begin the attack immediately before his attack would hit you - the beginning of your startup frames intersecting with his active "release" frames of his swing.
It causes his attack to be nullified and you get a counter-hit. The only way he could get his guard up in time after being chambered is if he's using a much faster weapon than your own. It is extremely deliberate and not at all based on luck.
A Clash is something else, the chance occurrence where the two of you attack at the same time and both swings are canceled out.

People who run into them fast enough or try to jump them. You can also kick people into them. Just brushing up on them is enough for damage.
Don't bother playing this if you are stuck with 120ms+ ping. It is impossible to chamber or feint (as in the functions do not work) on live servers. Using a bow is also basically pointless since enemy movement is a slideshow outside of 10m.
You could play support I guess, but participating at a low level only since you are a free kill in 1v1 to anybody playing for more than an hour.

I love when there is a game with melee combat and the ranged options are actually good, in most melee centric games the ranged option is how you get killed and is only used to plink enemies for 10 minutes to kill them. Crossbows take fucking forever to reload. If it's not a repeating crossbow it shouldn't be firing at that speed, period. A longbow easily fires twice as many projectiles as a crossbow in the same period of time.
People who don't play engineer don't know this, but the mounted crossbow sucks dick because it's effective angle is about 30 degrees and it's not remotely what you think it would be when you set it down.

Bardiche, Billhook are halberd class, more slashing, pole can stab like the halberd because of the spike on the end but its shorter range, i know halberd can pull people off horses so im going to assume the billhook can too but I havent tried it.

Depends on what you wanna do and how mobile you wanna be. A helmet is never a bad idea, since without one blunt weapons and throwables are going to wreck your shit very easily.
With the current state of Huntsman, heavy armor is of questionable use if you're using bows and crossbows since longbows will still kill you easily.

Everything I listed works because I've been doing exactly those things to deal with every shield user I've encountered. So far I've yet to find a shield user able to beat me and rarely do they even land a singular hit due to the pitiful range of all one handed weapons besides the short spear.
Anyway, you need to play more aggressively in general. This game rewards aggression far more than it rewards any defensive playstyle. The shield user merely existing means you cannot shift your focus elsewhere, because the second you do you get a morningstar in the back. There's also the fact that people are lemmings and are VERY eager to chase lone enemies instead of capping objectives, meaning a single shield user turtling can singlehandedly stall your team. I don't care how many retards you fight that don't know how to press RMB, but in frontlines a slow weapon CANNOT deal with shields in a meaningful manner.
