I want to fuck Makoto

I just beat P5. How do I get started with the other Personas/SMT? This series history is a fucking trainwreck

I love Kamoshida as a villain

You're really pushing your luck, you defiant piece of garbage.

He's the greatest villain in all of Persona.

Just play whatever. its not like their stories are connected. i don't know about SMT but Persona's stories definitely aren't at least.

imagine living in a society where you could get away with saying this within earshot of other students in a school hall

>pettiest villain is the best one
>grand sweeping mastermind is boring as fuck

Are japanese students really such spineless weaklings that they let a fucking teacher abuse and rape them?

I don't remember him saying that.

Play them in release order obviously you fucking brainlet

You can talk to him when walking around the school

I played SMTIV immediately after finishing P5 and had a good time so I'd recommend that.

>Pick one
>Play one
I suggest P3 or smt nocturne

Nice spike.

Japanese girls are honestly like helpless puppies or herd animals so they're easy to hunt and buy off doing ridiculous shit, though they regret it later. Japan is a huge sex tourism destination for this very reason.

What the hell were they thinking putting the best villain right at the start of the game?

What Kamoshida has going for him is that he scratches that itch that almost everyone has for a teacher that they just wanna deck in the face, doesnt change that hes the best though

>I think everything is like my anime’s and talk about a country like I’m an expert despite not leaving my hometown

>This series history is a fucking trainwreck
they're just standalone games

So if i take my black ass to Japan i could buy off some nip school girl to suck my giga dic?

How do i get money in the early game?apparently i ended ng poor with only 95k.
I want to make Sataenel.

You're the first to mention anime, you projecting retard.
>bring her back
Not if she's in school.

Their names indicate otherwise as someone who's never touched the series before. SMT III/SMT Nocturne Devil Survivor Persona Tensei 2 or whatever the fuck, I don't know how to pinpoint where to start

Japanese language is literally structured to be submissive if you're a woman.

How does a translation manage to be so literal and so inaccurate at the same time? It's the worst of both worlds.

they're all pretty much standalone
just play the popular ones, then the less popular ones, then eventually you get to shit on everyone else for not having played the most obscure shit

SMT III and SMT Nocturne on the same game
It's really not that hard to figure it out if you use some common sense. They're standalone games so it doesn't matter what you play as long as you don't play anything that's a direct sequel to another (i.e. SMT IV to SMT IV FINAL)

SMT is more pure RPG(no social links) and generally more difficult than the Persona games. However, Persona 5 added back SMT elements that are more streamlined(Negotiations, gun damage). Basically, figure out what you you liked/disliked about Persona and go from there.

Persona 3 FES is the general definitive edition of P3, but you can't control your partners. Then there's P4 next. P4 Golden is the definitive edition but is Vita only.
SMT3 is on PS2, while the SMT4 is on 3DS. both games are good to start in terms of SMT.

My first mainline SMT game was IV and it felt like a good entry point

he's the best villain because he's the closest to a personal level to the MC.

All the following villains are related only to the companions and don't feel "personal" at all.

Japan is such a society

The games at most have a few nods to previous entries, nothing requires foreknowledge besides the Persona 2 and SMT4 duologies.

Yeah I enjoyed it all, combat/social.
thank you

I remember exploring the school and he actually stops you in the halls, so you don't even need to go up and press X for it to happen

Sounds like heaven. i could be an abusive fuck and not even the boys would have the balls to stand up to me.

>Not shido

>but you can't control your partners
Really, why?

He's fucking shit. You literally never interact with him 99% of the game before his dungeon.
He's just the BIG BAD TWIRLY MUSTACHE villain.

I want to be Kawakami's husband.

Most likely for added difficulty and also creates a "trust system" with your friends. P3 Portable, the PSP port of the game, has controllable party members, but n FES content.

LORE QUESTION: Are they called "Personas" in SMT too, or just demons or whatever?

You can give them orders though, like focusing on healing or attacking. There's a mod that allows you to control them though.

To get you to fully self-insert into the protagonist. The game goes so far as to make you talk to people to inspect their stats, get them to heal you or change their equipment. You can't just open a menu and have them heal you the way you'd heal them. This self-inserting is a lot more vital to P3 than it is to any other game in the series.

And you’re practically role playing

This isn't the only reason. The reason Kamoshida is so good is that we spend time in school, get to know him a little, then we spend time in his palace, get to know that version of him a little, then we see him do more bad things in the real world and the cycle repeats and repeats and we can even talk to him at school. With every other antagonist once the palace is truly open we barely see the real target if at all. Kamoshida is the only antagonist that fully took advantage of the premise of Persona 5.

Who cares, you clearly don't care since you played p5 first

They're literally demons in SMT.

Can i fuck em?

So is the consensus that people prefer P3 FES over P3

any place other than america. pussies.

>just finished playing through persona 3 FES
>want to play persona 4
>the definitive version of the game is on the fucking VITA
WHY? WHO THE FUCK OWNS A VITA

FES is just the updated version of P3 with more content. If you meant the PSP version that has party control and the female protagonist option, it's really only worth playing to experience its exclusive content. It's a poor choice for a first playthough as it ruins the presentation and atmosphere of the game.

they can fuck you but you can't fuck them

I still have no idea why they decided to keep Golden as a Vita exclusive.

Attached: 1497623149663.jpg (500x373, 37K)

they hired newbies with a poor grasp of japanese that were going to 8-4 their way through the game before atlus beat some sense into them so there's no middle ground between "holding nothing back and are serious to kill us" and "right on wassup persona"

I agree with this but I've been thinking, would it have been possible to do this with any other villain in P5?
I mean, the game's already over 100 hours long. I would've liked to see detailed and personal villain development for each palace rather than each one seeming like a flanderized strawman of unrealistic, unrelatable villainy that basically devolves into monster of the week. But how would it have been done, wouldn't it make the game seem super long?

Except he's you know the entire reason the protag is there in the first place. And he's behind everything.

and? he's a fucking shit villain. Defeating him is the most hollow victory because he was just "there" the entire game, being the "mwehehe I'm soooo evil"

everyone in japan

just don't even bother. They are all garbage

Not only that, but as soon as you beat him it turns out it didn't really matter anyway and you have to do another dungeon with the real final villain revealed near the end of it.

it's coming to switch

Yes, and we barely interacted with him, except that elevator scene, which was so weird
I had no reason to care about him unlike Kamoshida, who was threatening you and Ryuji, making one of your classmates almost commit suicide, and making Ann's life hell
Kamoshida was way closer to home compared to 'Wow I'm super evil lemme give evil speeches' Shido

Is it true that Royal is going to add a graphic sex scene of him raping Shiho? Man how is Sony gonna get out of this one?

my theory is that unlike most atlus games it really is a contractually bound exclusive and they have to wait until the absolute end of life of the vita to release it anywhere else. and no, that hasn't happened yet, you can still publish new vita games and the last software update was relatively recent.

Yes, FES is an objectively superior version of P3. Play that for your first playthrough. Only play P3P on another playthrough, DO NOT play it for your first time

Yeah, although honestly portable isn't bad if it's all you have.

>they ported fucking P4DAN to PS4 but not P4G
>P4DAN can't even be bought regularly, you HAVE to buy it as part of an expensive bundle with the P3 and P5 dancing games
Fucking Atlus

If they did i'm pretty sure CERO would bitch slap ATLUS before Sony could.

I was tempted to buy the P3 one but it's just too Jewish for me. Memories of You of all songs is DLC.

To be fair, Shido was supposed to be the guy who killed Futaba's mom and Haru's dad and especially Akechi so it covers a few bases: if you cared about any of those characters and their misfortunes, which is theoretically pretty likely since each are big plot important moments, then they've got you caring about the villain. If you care about the protag getting abused by Shido then that counts too.

I'd honestly agree with you though, I'd say all of those moments are flawed in some way, in terms of making you care about Shido.
>the first two are done by pancake man and not Shido
>you don't know any of these incidents are connected to Shido until the last palace
>Haru's dad and pancake man kinda deserve it and are made mostly unsympathetic to begin with
>protag getting abused in prison was part of the plan all along, plot armor means no real danger
>the woman who is rescued by the protag throws the protag under the bus, who cares about her
>if protag didn't get screwed by Shido at the beginning, the game wouldn't have happened and nobody would get the friendships or cool powers throughout the game

Speaking of Jewish
>P4DAN PS4 doesn't come with all DLC included like all GOTY/rereleases generally do
>have to buy it all over again if you bought the DLC on Vita too, which isn't the case in Japan and it's only Atlus USA that makes you rebuy it

depends if you want more Persona (social sim + gameplay) or mainline SMT (gameplay without social sim).

If you want more Persona, play (in any order) P2 Innocent Sin & Eternal Punishment, P3, P4. If you don't mind grindy-ass old games, P1 is also good.

If you want SMT, play Nocturne, DDS 1 & 2, Devil Summoner Overclocked, SMT IV Apocalypse (there are two versions of this and i honestly don't know which one is better).

If you like action games, play Raidou 1 & 2.

kill yourself

I think the game needed to start establishing its villains before their arcs. Shido is the only exception but even then he barely gets any actual development.

>SMT IV Apocalypse (there are two versions of this and i honestly don't know which one is better)
nani

oh yeah I forgot about Sae, she's probably the second-best but the whole casino metaphor felt really forced to me

I'm sorry. There's IV and Apocalypse. I thought Apocalypse re-did IV but I think I was wrong.

how about Digital Devil Saga and Raidou Kuzunoha? not being cheeky, just haven't played them yet.

Apocalypse is an alternate timeline that branches off before IV's neutral ending comes to a close.

How would P5 do this though, without both making the game super long and distracting from other villain arcs?

Like for example, I think both Haru and Okumura needed much more development, their arc basically felt like an afterthought to the ryuji vs morgana thing. There's even potential with them, Okumura had some guilty admittances towards Haru in his boss fight (I know it was supposed to be a bamboozle but hey, the writers were at least able to think it up as an idea), so he could've been a much more tragic villain. I definitely feel like, if we saw a more fatherly and tragic side to Okumura, then that would not only make Haru's angst about it more relatable, but also strengthened Akechi as a villain. Haru of course has a cute, wholesome side that would make a good addition to the childish bantz between the main group for non-drama moments, but we never really see Haru do more than be sad and not be useful to the plot whatsoever.

But the question is, how would it be possible to develop them beforehand? Introduce Haru and Okumura before the PTs get famous? Introduce Haru as a classmate during the Kamoshida saga? (which imo sounds like it could've worked well but would need haru to be forgotten for madarame and futaba) Where would it make sense to introduce them during the madarama and futaba arcs at all? Would it be enough to have the story structure we have now but to just give minor cameos to the Okumura family, shouldn't we actually need a few scenes of actual plot-significance or something?

I agree with you on Sae too; Sae we at least see throughout the game, involved with makoto (kaneshiro arc) and futaba and the whole interrogation plot backdrop thing. Not sure if the casino's ever even foreshadowed either.

You'd definitely want to play the first DDS and Raidou games before playing the second one.

was pretty underwhelmed by P3 and P5 dancing games. models instead of portraits i can take or leave, but there's no plot at all and the tracklists are smaller and less ambitious than the first one. p5 has a bunch of bgm tracks instead of vocal tracks and kimi no kioku gets mostly ignored.

If that one dumb theory had been true, and Futaba had been the daughter of Lupin III, while Sojiro was Jigen laying low to take care of her, would the game have been better, worse, or unchanged in quality

>bring her back
who are you quoting

Monster cat.

do you need to play IV before Apocalypse?

Yes. Apocalypse takes the story of IV, starts right before the climax and then stops the climax from actually happening and continues the story, retconning the ending of the original game. It deals heavily with characters and locations from IV that you are expected to know going in.

No, but it's recommended. It's a great game in its own right, IVA just has a more polished combat system.

Unchanged, I don't care about Futaba's origins, I care that she's a magical fucking mememachine NEET, and her sweaty ass fans bring down the collective intelligence of their entire ZIP code

where is the mmo

Not even that, his crimes were just so much more real than the rest, something that could totally happen. We went from a teacher who bullied a student to near suicide (Atlus couldn't let her die either, pussies) to a dude who forges paintings.

Is this now a Futaba thread?

Long dead, and ReIMAGINE is mostly untranslated still.
Not to say it's not playable, but it's not an easy recommendation.

No! Soul Brotha too big!

>when Takemi tells one of her patients she's treating at the time that your her 'guinea pig'

Takemi > Kawakami

It makes no sense for a NEET to be this sexy
