I agree. I sincerely can't believe I went against my better judgement and got swindled by normie reviewers with no standards. It was the only game I've ever completed out of spite to get my money's worth. The game is very obviously designed around Partner Party but at some point into development the higher ups decided they needed to retrofit original Mario Party gameplay into the game in order to use that as a selling point. The saddest part is that Partner Party is easily the most engaging mode in the game (which is not saying much) and it isn't even featured in the first section of the hub.

Mario Party 7 has the more soul than any Mario Party game. Prove me wrong.

All the newer mario games have a soulless look to them I noticed, I think its the UI that's too blame. Looks like generic shovelware almost.

Can anyone else relate to the fact that every board in Super Mario Party would be "that board" if they were in any other entry in the series?

Bought it cause we liked 1-7. Love the minigames, but the games pace is terribly slow.

The UI is also sterile as fuck, it's not fucking Wii Sports for fuck's sake. The only good UIs and board looks were in the N64 era, prove me wrong.

The game is so barren that it would take up tons of updates for it to actually fill the game, so at this point I think it's just better to wait for the sequel

Why is everything Nintendo makes so wierd now? Everything is made out of blocks, nothing is handcrafted, everything is made in little cells and then cast on a grid, all the yoshi games, Donkey Kong TF, the New Mario Bros games, all these games you can see or feel the lines of every cell. Why don't they use other shapes besides wheels and blocks anymore?

Both this game and Starfox: Zero make me really hesitant to purchase Nintendo products, I know SF wasn't exactly Nintendo per se but they kept going on and on about how they would feel ashamed if the game was bad, turned out it was bad. I haven't played BOTW or Odyssey because I'm worried they just won't be that great, even with all the hype.

Best minigames in the series, but the boards are the most dull thing ever, and there are only 5 of them to my knowledge. My girlfriend bought the game for all of us to play at parties sometimes, and when it happens it is super fun, but the boards suck.

If we could get these minigames with 7's boards it would be fantastic.

It was almost good, glad they ditched the shitty car, but the boards are still small and shitty. Baby steps I guess though. I just want another Mario Party that matches Hudson Soft's quality again.

Also really sick of the minimalistic UI every first party game has to have on the Switch. That's what really made this game feel soulless.

The only Mario Party I played was 5 and I always liked how it was hosted by the Star Spirits from Paper Mario and comparted to what I've seen in other Mario Parties, the boards look pretty good too.

Didn't feel any grid feeling when playinh DK.

Mario Tennis was the same. Soulless and lacking in options.
