We had quite a few threads lately pupper

Switch will be my first AC game, what should I expect?

Comfy

absolute cozy, most of my love for the game is fueled by nostalgia though, but still when I first got the game it was such a romp, a nice way to relax and just feel like a good person

Fun and comfy

New Leaf was my first AC game and I spent so much time on it, I loved it.
However, it was such a big time investment, I'm not sure about buying the Switch game. I don't know if I can afford to waste so much time on a single game again.
Plus the feeling of thinking about my town being abandoned for two years now hurts me and I don't want to feel that for my Switch town.

Since Sony is censoring everything, Nintendo should make a 18+ version of Animal Crossing where you can fug the animals. That'll show Sony!

Just petting them would be nice

remember to ignore all waifufags

No

>tfw youve posted your hopes/dreams for AC Switch so many times that the thought of doing it again just exhausts you
My favorite villager is probably Tangy, who was the first villager I became attached to in my very first GC town. I started with GC at release, because of ads I saw for it in magazines. As a HMfag, it seemed up my alley.

Should I start playing the 3DS one or just wait for this one to come out?

3DS one is cheap/free depending on how you approach getting 3DS games so it couldn’t hurt to see if it’s for you

Liking Tangy is very classy

When is the new one coming out?

I have the 3DS one I just haven't played it and I hear all the games are similar and I don't want to burn myself out before the Switch one comes out.

I want the Switch versions gimmick to be that it decentralizes events. While I understand the necessity of making the Town Plaza a thing, I feel it has too much relevance in every event, and I wish events would have more relevance over the town as a whole.

I realise the difficulty of this with the fact towns are generated but still. I want to see the cedar trees get Christmas lights for the last two weeks of December, I want to see banners around my town during festivals. I want a big ass fucking sign by the river saying the fishing contest is on whenever it happens. Maybe even stuff that directly impacts the town layout/traversal like temporary bridges.

I want more visual or even town design/traversal variety in the village itself, and while the town project system brought that, that system is also entirely user controlled. I want more variety that comes from the game itself that I don't control.

However right now I just want the fucking game to come out god damn fuck

This year supposedly

It's currently listed as a 2019 title, and that intended release year of 2019 was reconfirmed as recently as this past month in their financial briefing, however we've seen no info on it since its announcement in September last year.

It's a little hard to recommend starting one now because if they do stick to a 2019 release, you'll basically be playing whatever you start now for 6 months, which is half a year cycle, and you will potentially burn yourself out. It's hard to even say "just play it for three months then leave it until the new game!" because that's still a weird thing to do with AC.

At the end of the day it's really up to you, but as a big fan of the series who REALLY wants to play the game right now and could just play New Leaf, I'm purposefully not doing so, so I don't burn myself out. But maybe as a new player burnout won't be a thing for you.

I just want it to come out this year.

All I want is more Mable.

I want to fuck the animals. All of them

>DUDE AC SWITCH NEEDS DATING
>DUDE AC SWITCH NEEDS ANIMAL SEX!!
>LOOK AT MY THICCCCSDJFDS ISABELLE
Get the fuck out of my franchise, furfucks. This is a wholesome IP.

You mean Sable?

Me too

based

I don't know why anyone's excited when it's 100% certain the writing/dialogue is going to suck. Every villager is going to be cutesy and nice and similar to each other, there's not going to be any differences between any of them other than how they're perfectly pampering you.

Don't know why I'd want to waste my time being talked down to like a literal four year-old every day.

Correct

>Tfw the release is Dec 31st

It’ll be October

Everything should be decentralized. No town strip or shopping mall or whatever. Stores all appear in your village. Make the village bigger than ever before. Events can be celebrated with every NPC, they all do something for the holiday.
>but that would be slow to navigate
Bicycles. If your goal is to get from point A to point B quickly, ride a bicycle. When you don't need it, turn it into a leaf and put it in your pocket. Also add backpacks for more carrying capacity.

God this would improve the game so much

I do hope villagers get better dialogue than New Leaf

Bump

Same here, just do that along with re-adding all the removed features and a bigger map and it'll be great.

Should they dial Isabelle’s spotlight back a bit?

No they should increase it
Every time she is not on screen villagers should ask Where is Isabelle?

Yes, I think it's fine if Isabelle is still there, but I would like for them to move all of the shops back into the town and focus more equally on everyone else, or maybe you can see the NPCs like Tom Nook or the Able Sisters walk around after closing their shops.

post your favorite villager

Attached: wart jr..png (246x390, 101K)

I did

I get the pun but the protag of "The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls" is not named Sable, but has the title of "The Prince of Sable".

I'm just hoping that the devs learned from splatoon.

It’s more on the localizers here

That would be great.

>Hopes
A larger map, backyards, an optional 3rd-person camera view, more villagers outside, and the return of messages in a bottle and the observatory. Also more QoL changes

>Dreams
Much better villager dialogue, cave exploration, new character episodes for special NPCs and also special NPC objectives with new jobs, cooking, even more atmosphere, move the shops back to the town itself, the option to be a regular villager, and a new feature that really shakes things up. Also graphics on par with the mario kart track.

>Expectations
Probably most of my hopes, and some more customization.

>Fears
Pocket Camp HD or this game being like the City Folk to Wild World instead of a completely new game.

My favorite villager is probably Wart Jr. or Bob, and I got into this series in 2018 with Wild World, been playing it since, even though it could be considered the worst AC game.

bump

It'd be cool if there were events that would play out with the villagers you've interacted with the most but that's probably asking too much.

Here's my wish list:
Villagers
>more personality types, I want grumpy villagers to go back to being assholes
>quirks that act like 'sub-personality types' so that two villagers with the both type will still have some small differences
>more complex personalities and 'settings': a tsundere that acts like a jerk but slowly opens up, a chuuni whose character breaks every now and then, a shy one that follows you around hiding, someone who changes personality during the night, etc
>a LOT more dialog lines
>being able to choose where new villagers will build their houses
>best friends that will never leave your town
>room mates, both in your house and between villagers
>villagers related to each other (brothers, cousins, childhood friends etc)
>more interaction with them, like being able to invite them to fish, catch bugs, shop, play soccer etc
>villagers can do the same things you can, so you can see them actually catch bugs and fish, dig holes, plant trees, eat fruit etc
>villagers can expand their own homes, buy clothes and furniture from the shops

Village
>houses for Nook, Able Sisters etc
>more varied zones like mountains, marshes, jungles, etc
>caves: like fossils, are generated at random places every day
>inside them you can find fossils, minerals, different types of bugs and fish, maybe a bat NPC
>more and more interactive PWPs, like being able to build soccer fields or something that add new things to do

Activities
>bring back NES games, they could put those short VC demos or let you play your own VC games
>more minigames like the ones on holidays
>jobs: just like when you had to work for Nook or when you work at the coffee shop, you could work for the Able Sisters to design clothes on commission, or at the Postal Office and deliver mail to the villagers
>an online hub where you can meet with other players, like a mall or something, kind of like the island from NL

There's a lot more but that's enough for now.

So like character episodes, but with every single villager? That'd actually be pretty cool.

Yeah, something like that but doing so would probably result in the uniforming of everyone's personality like in NL to ensure consistent interactions with each other.

The last thing I want is New Leaf 2.

Well, at least HHD has given me hope that new character episodes will be there.

I hope that I won't be locked out of content for not wanting to play Pocket Camp.

Saaaame

If there are two things that I fear the most for this game, it's microtransactions and heavy integration with pocket camp.

Same here.

Great fun lost except for...
>let you play your own VC games
user...there is no Switch VC :(

I doubt they’d do that with a 60 dollar product

rip thread

Dating would be nice. No seriously.

they're gonna make paid dlc furniture packs for this game

She also needs to be louder, angrier, and have access to a time machine.

Doubt it, but there’ll be retail events

They already have in New Leaf with the RVs.

You got their names mixed up but at least your heart's in the right place

I am confident that we will get news this month.

Yeah, I imagine there'd at least be another teaser similar to the one with Nook before E3

Bump

I’m not but here’s hoping
