FFX HD

I cannot fucking beat Seymore Flux.
Immediately he one shots one of my characters with the zombie + full life combo, and after a couple of turns he one shots my entire party from full health with cross cut.
Okay, I thought, I just need to grind more.
Except, Mt Gagazet is bullshit and every enemy encounter has the full potential to fucking wipe me, not to mention the AP gains are so slow at this point.
Anything I find online just says "oh he's easy use hastega use protect" etc, except I've fucked up the sphere grid and I'm quite far away from getting hastega.

I think I'm actually fucked. And I'm not willing to grind in this shitty fucking area for the next 20 hours. Plus running back to the planes, even if I can, won't be a good time since the encounter rate is like every 10 fucking steps.

Truly frustrating. Goddamn. I just wanna finish this shit so I can start playing 12.

Is there anything I can do, seriously?

Try not being bad

Search rikku mix attack

Use Yojimbo

isn't that one undead?

Have reflect

>except I've fucked up the sphere grid and I'm quite far away from getting hastega.

Welcome to FFX

Wait until you reach the boss where you're stuck on the airship with literally no way to grind and you have this dumbass boss that autokills you in 10 turns

X-2 is better, i SAID IT

Anyone have the Switch version?

Is it worth it?

>Truly frustrating. Goddamn. I just wanna finish this shit so I can start playing 12.
Why? 12 is worse by a mile, also you don't have to fucking beat the FF in order

I was in your same position. I had to restart my file.

Step 1. Charge your Overdrives(including Aeons)
Step 2. Win the boss fight
Other than one boss(the one with the huge cutscene beforehand) and the final boss this'll carry you through the whole game.

finalfantasy.fandom.com/wiki/Seymour_Flux

Rikku and Waka

OP here. I'm playing the switch version. Never played 10 before but it runs well and looks good.

I bought 10 on the switch, and 12 came out yesterday. I don't wanna just drop an RPG 30 hours in. And 12 is by far my favourite Final fantasy game, suck my average dick.

I'm honestly considering saying fuck it, and restarting at some point using the standard spheregrid, or using a guide for the expert one. This point is either impossible for me, or is going to require more grinding than anyone is feasibly able to do.

Just charge your Aeon overdrives beforehand, haste Yuna so she can keep doing that. You can just grind on Mt. Gagazet if you're still struggling.
>being this retarded

Aeons are all maxed, but I can get 3 off before he cross cleaves and one hits the entire party.

By far my two weakest characters. Plus I don't have the items needed to use any of the helpful mixes.

Use Bio. FFX is one of the few JRPGs where status effects are good

Ok, brainletnon.
Unless you are pre-charging all Overdrives (including Aeons) and just chaindumping them on him, you need to Shell&Protect your entire party and perhaps stack Cheer&Focus and i think you might need to throw in a Reflect in there and Dispel the boss so he nukes his own ass when he tries to reflect off himself.

>few JRPGs where status effects are useful

Try playing something other than popular games, retard.

So you can't beat every boss with 5 minutes of grinding? That's a plus.

PROVE ME WRONG

YOU GOT ONE POST

NO >MUH GIRL POWER

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 148K)

>and restarting at some point using the standard spheregrid
Did you seriously play this game for your first time using the expert spheregrid? Dear lord.

Nah the genre is trash.

wanna know a cheat way to beat this guy? have every aeon of yunas on overdrive. summon and do their overdrive, they get oneshot, then summon next etc. by the time all your aeons do their overdrives and die hes weak enough that he only lasts a few more turns and you can easily take him out

Wakka's Silence Attack/Buster
Lulu's Bio or Rikku's Use Poison Fang
Rikku's Mix
Overdriven Aeons
Auron should be able to survive Cross Cleave by this point unless you really fucked up the Sphere Grid
The merchant nearby sells armour for Yuna and Auron than has a chance of preventing zombie status

With all the grinding you're going to have to do for the final area/boss you're probably only halfway through the game dude.

Also if you're having trouble on this boss I can't wait to see how the next several bosses are going to be

That does literally nothing to help the one shot fucking move he does on the entire party directly after dispelling the summon.

cast haste on yuna then, dork

>first time playing game
>chooses an advanced option
epic
I like it

X-2 has the opposite problem of being easy as shit, which in my opinion is worse.

Holy shit you sound awful at games

Any real reason they skipped 8 on Switch?

Do not listen to that retard. Summoning an Aeon is the worst thing you can do. Not only will Seymour kill it but he'll also take some extra turns after he kills it. Only summon Bahamut to overdrive if it will kill him, should do about 8-12k damage depending on how leveled you are. Wakka should silence buster on Seymour to prevent Flare and reflect combo. Do not buff until he is silenced he counters buffs with Dispel. Also if you have zombieproof armor, it helps out, if not use holy water before your ass gets full-lifed by teh leech thing. When Mortorchis prepares to Annhilate you need to shore up defenses before it hits. it is a magical attack so you need shell on, and if you're using Auron have him use his special guard command for even further reduced damage.

Square loses code from FF8

It sucks.

Wait till you get to another boss with a 20 min cutscene.
>Die and be free of pain or live and fight your sorrow.
>Now is the time to shape your stories, your fate is in your hands.

Everytime the fight starts he immediately gets the first two turns and uses them to zombie+full life Tidus. I don't have holy water or hastega.
I try to silence and bio him, but by the third turn he'll cross slash, and kill the entire party with maybe the exception of Tidus If he's full health. But immediately after cross slash he just attacks and finishes him off anyway.

She isn't that hard, you just have to keep 1 party member as a zombie the entire time.

Do the bevelle basement

Spam aeon overdrives

How can anyone be this shit at this game? I could beat his sorry as a ten year old without knowing english that well and I was retarded enough to not level up properly.

>Wait until you reach the boss where you're stuck on the airship with literally no way to grind and you have this dumbass boss that autokills you in 10 turns
I got locked at this in a mathematically unwinnable scenario with what I had and no save early enough where I could just go grind.
It was the point at which I said fuck it, used 999999 gil cheat and just spammed Gil Toss.

That's what you get for not keeping multiple saves.

I'm pretty sure you can grind shit at the Colosseum to make Zombieproof armor at that point, go back and get it. And I don't believe you're getting 'full party 1-shot by Cross Cut' unless you've skipped every random encounter until now. Top your characters HP up every round, Protect, back row if you have to. How anyone can be so fucking bad at a JRPG I'll never know, I cleared this shit when I was 12.

Attached: 1533770997496.png (800x450, 359K)

literally grind near the save sphere

Unless you absolutely avoided doing any side stuff and never stole anything, you should have couple of Doors to Tomorrow or other equivalent items to mix Trio of 9999, which makes this battle trivial. Unless I remember wrong you could also grind for Wakka's Attack Reels at that point and use it after Mix to deal nearly 120k damage in one turn. People have beaten that boss with ridiculous restrictions that there is no excuse for being shit.

How hard is it to try to capture every creature? I'm thinking about trying to get the Magus Sisters but I heard you have to do that first and I'm trying to see if it's worth the effort.

what boss exactly? Sin's head? it's a pure dps fight to beat the giga graviga cast. I don't recall it being that bad. but if it gets close I am pretty sure you can just sacrifice an aeon and the overdrive of the boss resets giving you more time.

Evrae

Playing through it right now, this game is basically a huge cinematic, I've done like 20 fights in total in 10h of playing.

>you should have couple of Doors to Tomorrow or other equivalent items to mix Trio of 9999, which makes this battle trivial. Unless I remember wrong you could also grind for Wakka's Attack Reels at that point and use it after Mix to deal nearly 120k damage in one turn.

Yeah say that to me back in 2001 when the internet wasn't around and I didn't have a guide on me

You only need to capture all monsters once in Mt. Gagazet, I think. No need to capture every possible creature in Spira.

Do a bit of grinding
Keep Hastega on 24/7
Use Rikku's mix
Stay fully healed at all times for cross cleave
Dispel it's reflect
Bio Seymour
Use Bahumut overdrive for an easy 20k damage

No, you don't.

To get the Magus sisters you ave to capture every creature in the calm land to open the arena.
Then capture every creature in Mt. Gagazet, along with getting Yojimbo and Anima (will want stoneproof on your swimmers).

You can only get doors to tomorrow through some niche shit user, and I doubt he'd have any on his first playthrough.

sin's overdrive is instant game-over

It's Sin's Head, not Evrae. The dragon doesn't instakill you after 10 turns and you can grind on the ship before Evrae

I may be remembering wrong but I thought a merchant just before him sold zombie resistant gear.

It's fine but it's also like double the price of a physical copy of the PS4 version. So I don't really know if you could call it good value.

Well first of all you don't need to grind for anything on this game

Don't just rush to finish the fucking game, OP.
Seymour Flux has one of the worst ability combos in the game, but if you're having trouble with him, then you're going to cry once you reach Sin.

If you really want to be a cheapass, do this:
- go back to Calm Lands
- use a Chocobo to go to the hidden temple (Remiem Temple). The entrance is to the right of the south entrance to Calm Lands, in front of a bunch of rubble (down there, not at the same height as the entrance)
- win the race against the other Chocobo while getting at least 3 chests. You'll get 30 Wings to Discovery.
- Go back to Mt. Gagazet
- Fill Rikku's, Tidus' and Wakka's overdrives (probably just need Tidus')

Start the battle against Seymour with Rikku/Tidus/Wakka, have Rikku Mix two Wings to Discovery. Then just use Tidus' overdrive.

Stupid switch owner. Just use any haste on your characters (although hastega would've been the better option) and bio the boss immediately. When he casts protect and reflect, yuna should be able to cast dispel. And the rest is easy. Also if you get yunas overdrive to charge up use it to finish the fight cause he has a far more annoying move than the cross one.

SE TENIA QUE DECIR Y SE DIJO

>Yea Forums is this bad at FF
fucking lmao

If you don't have Haste you could use Slow.
If you don't have protect you can predict the Cross Cleave and use Defend.
Why the fuck do you keep the Zombie.

That's right taco taco burrito enchilada

>boss is weak to magic spell every other boss is resistant to
bs

or
get all summons into overdrive, and let them all get a pop off before they get banished

that's cheap

Is this the 7777 combo? I can't remember I beat the game with this crazy shit before looking guides up was even a thing.

That's a really bad idea because overdrive delays your party's turns and seymour will get multiple in when it dies.

I see, well to be nickpicky, unless I remember wrong you could get all Al-Bhed primers before Overdrive Sin and get 99 Underdog Secrets, which combined with level 3/4 key sphere also results in Trio of 9999. Though then the player would have to had actually done some side stuff such as visit Omega Ruins and Cavern of Stolen Fayth, which also gives access to I-win-button. Though players more often had done some monster hunting at this point than collected all the primers.

Seymour has 70,000 HP. I'm pretty sure your aeons can't get take off even half of that by Mt.Gagazet (if you didn't grind beforehand). During the normal boss battles, your aeons are only necessary to tank AoE attacks.

>using slow on Seymour Flux
Mortiorchis will counter your ass with Slowga and Seymour is immune to slow.

>using status effects on FF bosses
lmao

I beat this game with no internet when I was 11. And I was not a smart child.

Just grind or walk back to a merchant and buy some fucking items.

Attached: 1550068613525.jpg (960x720, 68K)

>Anything I find online just says "oh he's easy use hastega use protect" etc, except I've fucked up the sphere grid and I'm quite far away from getting hastega.
Good job, you fucked yourself out of what, 30 hours of game? Sorry man.

Usually one or two work with like 4% chance, and morons have developed strategies around this because FF decided status effects mean instant wins essentially.

That Mix results in Trio of 9999, after which all affected party members will do at least 9999 damage no matter what they do. Slice & Dice will result in 6x9999 hits. Really only usable on challenge runs or before you get Celestial weapons/Break damage limit weapons which can do more than 9999 damage.

The biggest hit will be bahamut and he'll only do like 15000 if you're maxed out at that point. I think you are inhibited by lock spheres at that stage.

Sorry yeah, it's 9999, other games had some similar shit where it was 7777. This shit is great decimates pretty much everything I learned how it worked in sin as a youngster.

Some work, some don't
Typically Slow is one of the most reliable ones.

I swear I never saw this. Besides you should have at least single target Haste.

Oh, you're gonna have a lot of fun with Yunalesca where you pretty much need zombie to not be instakilled

>Using the expert sphere grid on your first playthrough

I'm pretty the game actually tells you not to do this, you deserve it.

Attached: _106595412_george.jpg (695x590, 70K)

>not showering yojimbo with all your useless gold and breezing through every boss fight

lmao

>tfw I Customised Deathproof with Monster arena rewards on my last run against her. Not that I needed it, but I did it just because why not.

Playing on expert grid is a bit more fun, but you are actually shooting yourself in the leg on the long run, because expert grid has less nodes than standard, which means your maximum stats are lower if you are going to max out your characters. I still wonder why they didn't just but enough empty nodes to make both grids have equal amount of nodes, because this just makes playing on standard grid the better option for serious runs.

>mfw I had Blitz Ace and Attack Reels ready to go when the fight started
>mfw I had all of my Aeons' overdrives ready to go
>mfw I was overlevelled because I'd spent hours capturing monsters for the Arena in thunder plains/macalania woods/calm lands/ cave of the fayth/mt. gagazet
>mfw I absolutely spanked Seymour Flux

Attached: 1517884236968.jpg (700x700, 65K)

Poison both the boss and the little minion thing. Use Aeon overdrives when you think he's gonna 1-shot your party.

Buy Holy Water to remove Zombie.

Blitz Ace at Gagazet?! You way overdid it

>mfw I got on onboard the SS Liki before arriving in Kilika

Attached: 1503378070178.jpg (480x515, 47K)

The problem most people have in Mt.Gagazet isn't being Zombified. It's that Seymour is probably so fast that he'll pull off Full Life right after Lance of Atrophy.

You did 80 overdrives before leaving besaid island..?

>he one shots my entire party from full health with cross cut.
>every enemy encounter has the full potential to fucking wipe me
>I've fucked up the sphere grid and I'm quite far away from getting hastega.
>I'm not willing to grind in this shitty fucking area for the next 20 hours.
>Plus running back to the planes, even if I can, won't be a good time since the encounter rate is like every 10 fucking steps.
>Is there anything I can do, seriously?
Try playing something else? Sounds like temple run is more your level.

Attached: raughs.png (509x515, 624K)

No, you can get it onboard the ship during the fight with Sin
>do some grinding with Tidus to learn Haste on Besaid Island
>start the fight against the fin
>cast Haste on Tidus, Wakka and Kimahri (use Ethers to replenish MP)
>cast cheer 5 times
>1-shot every sinspawn enemy
>max overdrive gauge and use
>rinse and repeat until Blitz Ace learned
Plus you get 3AP per kill and move so quickly that the enemy can't get a turn. If everyone in the party took an action then you'd get ~30-50 sphere levels.
Back in ye olden times of turbofire pads you could rig it to grind automatically while you slept. Come back after a couple of days and max sphere levels for your whole party. Entire game on easy mode.

Attached: 1460241205838.jpg (259x194, 8K)

okay, but to unlock blitz ace you need to do 80 overdrives with tidus.

I'm not even going to read this shit because I'm a dumb asshole who's terrible at games and I rarely died from a boss fight in this game and this wasn't one of them..

>Buying a controller with turbo buttons so that you could leave your PS2 running for several days straight to make an easy game even easier

Attached: 1543938913887.png (793x388, 429K)

80 Energy Rains..

It's 10+30+80 total overdrives to unlock Blitz Ace.

Yes, you kill the Sinspawn to fill your overdrive gauge and then use it. More Sinspawn appear infinitely. Rinse and repeat.
I was a mega autist with JRPGs when I was a teenager. Ain't got nearly enough patience for that shit now.

>not using wikku

Attached: wikku.jpg (850x1135, 203K)

Last good ff was 9. Anyone saying otherwise is a millennial.

I use her asshole. Does that count?

Attached: 1463602523164.png (479x471, 630K)

Popular belief is Square fucked up and lost the code for 8 somewhere along the line

>anyone thinking this makes them generation that
Yeah and? People a generation older than you thinks you're a fucking idiot too

Attached: 1494852644907.png (500x422, 372K)

I remember a guy on GameFAQs who was level 60 at Destiny Islands (on Kingdom Hearts 1).

>I remember a guy on GameFAQs who was level 60 at Destiny Islands (on Kingdom Hearts 1).
How? I thought I was autistic for grinding to like level 12 by just reflecting wakkas ball throw attack over and over.

Pitiful mortal. Your hope ends here.
AND YOUR MEANINGLESS EXISTENCE WITH IT

Attached: VSyo5Cu.jpg (837x569, 41K)

I'm pretty sure someone grinded to level 100 on Destiny Islands and level 99 in KH2 tutorial before Twilight Thorn.

Bio.

>not having tidus pursue the haste/support area on the tree as a priority

wow i knew Yea Forums was casual but this

goddamn it, now I want to play FFX again and do really crazy sphere grids for the party members

I have it on switch and its great.

Fuck you, I wish ffx was actually challenging and strategic like you make it sound.

This. I mean it's still my favorite but I've been doing all the superbosses and all it really is just
>hastega
>auto life
>quick hit
>auto life
>quick hit
and so on. Your characters don't need to have much hp even, it doesn't matter if they die every turn because you get the auto life

ofc it's not worth it if you can emulate it retard

is yojimbo the most overpowered thing ever in a final fantasy game?
the only thing that can compete is selphie's the end if you aura and spam triangle through a summon

This is what you get for running away from every encounter. You're getting wiped out by the encounters at Mt Gagazet but you're like "yeahhh like just keep running away and fight the boss anyway"
You only have yourself to blame.

>He didn't just take Yuna onto Tidus' Sphere grid.
>His aeons weren't hitting the damage limit on every attack by the Thunderplains.
>He isn't just obliterating every boss as a revolving door of Aeon overdrives.
>His Yojimbo doesn't Zanmato for 100gp every time he attacks.

Mostly this is the case, but at least there are some optional bosses that require a bit more strategy than that. Jumbo Flan for example is immune to physical attacks and Penance can fuck you up, if you screw up with timings, Greater Sphere is really annoying, Th'uban (Brachioraidos) dispels auto-life with its counter-attack and Dark Yojimbo can kill you through Auto-life.
Too bad that you can generally just no-brain yourself through battles, they really should have upped the difficulty (or given a hard mode) at least for the story bosses in the HD-remaster.

Yeah I think it's the best FF but that's not saying much.

I beat this shit when I was 12 and didn't have internet user lmao.

No you can win without fighting random battles

Poison both him and his lap pet and then aeon overdrive spam him.

For bosses that are immune to physical attacks, just replace quick hit with double cast ultima and spam copycat after that. Dark yojimbo's zanmato will remove your auto life but he dies in 12 hits (assuming you do 99999dmg) and he won't be able to cast it. Even if he does, you'll know when it happens anyways and can just summon whatever aeon to take the hit.

He clearly can't.

It's a portable ffx. Not much else to say

the lost the code, and they didn't retain licenses to use the vocals for Fithos Lusek and Eyes on Me

I was just listing some examples user, and also I remembered that Dark Yojimbo could use Zanmato unpredictably as he does as a Summon and in X-2. At least he ambushes you, which might surprise some and you have to battle him five times to unlock Penance.

Just switch to FFXII bro, this game is bullshit.

Incredible how they worked to make Seymour a compelling villain but after the wedding he's a saturday morning cartoon villain who just appears randomly to tell you he killed 500 people and then turns into a gundam

what was the point of the character?

You can beat the whole game without leveling up a single time. You can definitely beat him no matter how stuck you feel, remember to use Rikku and her overdrive mix it is the strongest overdrive in the entire game by a factor of at least hundreds.

Cast haste on everyone all the time. There. You win.

You are remembering wrong because there is at least one primer in the Omega ruins and you have to get the airship first to get there.

Tidus, Wakka, and Yuna are your strongest endgame characters. Use them.

It's not a one-shot, you're underleveled. Go back and grind you lazy fuck.

And I'm pretty sure you can visit Omega ruins before facing Sin, as you only need to input Omega Ruins coordinates, which should be possible before you cannot pick your destination anymore.

You don't need Hastega for this. Just use haste and maybe whatever Rikku has to create haste.

Only the first encounter with yojimbo is ambush, others are not. So you have to make sure that at least one party member can survive the wakizashi attack if yojimbo does that one. Also no, he will do zanmato only when his overdrive gauge fills. The fights are always the same and are extremely easy, you can easily farm dark matter and master spheres from him since you can beat him as many times as you want by leaving the cave before the fifth battle
Only character who matters end game is rikku for her overdrive. Yuna too if you like to use aeons. No one else matters at all since everyone can have the same stats anyways, the only difference being their overdrives and those don't matter at the point where you can deal 99.999 dmg with a basic hit anyways

>not spamming doublecast

just use all of your aeon overdrives. i spent hours trying different strategies (hasting his tumor thing so they act out of sync) but nothing worked until i spammed overdrives

You think this is bad? Try Chocobo racing, butterfly catching, and lightning dodging to get the celestial weapons to be able to stand a chance in postgame. Oh and I hope you can endure Monster Arena levels of autistic grinding that will make you go insane if you are not playing this on PC with fast forward.

chocobo racing took me four tries, that's not even remotly difficult compared to the fucking lighting bullshit

OP is a faggot

Attached: eggman.jpg (940x1300, 92K)

Also you dumb niggers did steal lvl 3 keys from Kihmari's boss fight, right?

My god I did this when I was 9, what's your fucking problem?
