Is he story bad? Does it matter if it is? Are games with good gameplay let down by poor dialouge and story pacing?

I really liked how story was told in the RE2make, at least in Leon’s run. Claire was just whatever.

Thats interesting i was just told by someone irl that Leons is the worst.

>Claire was just whatever.
the progresion and reasons why she must go to the locations feel forced.

>get your fat ass down the orphanage with that pendant or the retard gets it

i mean, yes quite literally she was indeed forced.

The game sold me on Ada and Leon’s relationship, how Ada just ignores Leon at first, starts caring for him while also manipulating his naive ass to do the job for her etc. And Leon really acted like a rookie cop, but not an over the top rookie character, he had that young guy confidence that looks dumb to veterans.

I liked it.

Is any video game story good?

>while also manipulating his naive ass to do the job for her
That kiss scene, i could relate to that

every moment on claire path feels forced, when she has to go to the orphanage, when she goes to the sewers, only the lab doesnt feel forced.

I just like Zombies. I dont need a reason.

What does Ada's butthole taste like?

Story is not that important in games focused on gameplay. RE is mostly a survival horror first, a speed runner second and you can tackle it at your own pace for most of the game anyway. Story is not that important then and the parts of the lore related to gameplay (not story progression) are found in texts anyway. You'll be distracted by surviving and managing items and not paying much attention to detail on the story but the story is good tho.

On the other hand you have games such as Dead Rising, where story is not only important but is part of the gameplay itself, the main goal is to unveil the truth. The gameplay is way simpler than Resident Evil, but you can still get a ton of enjoyment from killing zombies in the dumbest ways possible.

No, the story is dumb, but it's very entertaining and serves the setting and gameplay perfectly well and that's all you need in a survival horror game that's more geared towards gameplay than narrative (unlike Silent Hill, for example).
I wouldn't trade the silly cartoonish characters of early RE for anything.

Ramen

If you care about story in a game you are a literal retard. Read a book or watch a film if you want a quality story.

worst is a strong word. Both character runs are phenominal. One not being as good as the other doesnt deserve "worst"

It's not that black and white. Games with a decent story and worldbuilding can really draw you in which enhances the whole experience.

will you not stop until everything is tetris?

Story is always bad in RE

Cheese =/= bad
DMC and RE are the biggest examples

Story's bad if you didn't play the original. It leans too much on the assumption that the player already knows and understands what is supposed to be happening.

It is black and white. It’s completely unnecessary and useless filler. The best stories from games are no better than the bottom of the barrel bullshit they pump out on a yearly basis from Hollywood.
