Dying Light

What's your favorite weapon/mod/upgrade combination?

Shit, it has been awhile since I played.
EXPcalibur is pretty fun.

Playing it for the first time at the moment. Once you get the pistol/rifle melee is pointless. What a shame, I honestly didn't expect guns to show up at all.

You can't buy ammo on hard, so they are used very rarely

Firearms make a shitton of sound and bring on the annoying fast bastards. I loved the katana because I'm a massive weeb and it complemented my ninja skin well. What a pleasant game goddamn.

I guess that makes sense then, I am playing on normal and ammo doesn't seem to run out. Still fun though, I am starting to prefer it anyway, meelle started to feel like a chore, wish there were a few more animations.

Fucking machete with some crazy
electric/fire combo.

but the guns arent fun

They do feel very basic but makes the game feel fast paced.

i only use the for the bullshit enemies
and i mostly use the legendary ultra shot revolver from the expansion because it sends them flying
the enjoyment of this game came from beating the zombies around like throwing a sack of potatoes down the stairs
feels way better than left 4 dead 1 shot 6 zombies dead

The golden shotgun I had took out those huge bulky monsters in a few shots. But man did it attract runners. The parkour was fun unless you had a bullshit fall or two.

Where/When does all the DLC begin? I got the complete edition but beyond "go to prison" and some repeatable missions I don't see anything else.

>the cannon ending is the bad choice

Huh

>What's your favorite weapon?

the dlc is something completely seperate from the main campaign
you choose it on the menu
its still the same character though

Ahhh figures, I never actually bothered looking under "extras" figured it was some co-op modes or something. Is playing through DLC worth it; in a sense of would it add more to the story/experience?

This was my weapon of choice for quite some time, for w/e reason run + kick early on seemed to one shot most zombies.

it adds the ability to drive a buggy and new legendary as well as regular weapons
also it has the ending to the game in it
its an enjoyable dlc

>Is playing through DLC worth it; in a sense of would it add more to the story/experience?
very much YES
by yourself, maybe not so much.

DLC replaces parkour with buggy, in my opinion shitty change, but still worth playing.

>coop
coop is always shit
literally giving away your fun combat and gameplay to someone else

enjoy the endless spawn of virals, faggot

For melee, probably a sword or katana with the Angel Blade mod. I usually add extra durability if I can for maximum swingage. As far as range goes, I like the relic six shooter, even though it's not that effective. Also, the Bozack Bow. You did earn the Bozack Bow, right user?

didnt buy that dlc
its shit

what a beast of a game. It ran like butter on my core 2 duo CPU with r7 240.

I bought the season pass forever ago, so of course I had to play through it. It does come included if you get the Following edition of the game. It's not spectacular, but it is quite a challenge

i dont have the bozak dlc
just the following

Which you can easily cheese or just shoot all the same. Especially when they're climbing to get at you.

something tells me that you're terrible at the game

This game really tries to prevent any (casual) cheesing or abuse of mechanics right?

So we tried to find shit that's broken to "abuse". The funniest thing we found is when you're one the street below that huge fucking bridge and make noise, the virals and whatever else spawn on top of the bridge and lob themselves off it. But if you can get a hit in with a gun you get full XP for the kill. Shooting more guns causes more mad faggots to spawn on the bridge. Basically skeet shooting, breddy fun.

Don't really have a favorite weapon combo but holy shit. We started finding 2H axes and whatever. The powermove where you just fucking twirl around with the axe is satisfying. It isn't that good to constantly use, but it just fucks up all those faggot zombies real good

Yeah so terrible that the endless spawn of clusters of dumb fuck virals doesn't fuck me up. Git gud, nigger.

sad.

>needs the guns and doesnt like fun
literally autistic

unless you use it to help each other with something specific then its just a worse experience over all

Okay, don't use guns. You can still one hit swing or drop kick them right from a building. Dumb nigger feeling superior because he doesn't use the game's mechanics, lmao

says "guns are better ur retarded" guy
nigger

whatever you're using blunt weapons are really terrible
same goes for the following but at least the girl was very cute

I didn't say they're better. My posting starts here :Maybe anonymity isn't your thing, I suggest Redddit.

spam slide towards a wall for agility xp
farm quarantine for DROPs for survivor xp
combat is the slowest and yea bridge is the best

Basado

nigger
blunt weapons are satisfying

baseball bats have the weakest sounding hits ever

blunts were worse than blades since it only stuns when blades could've chopped their heads off
which is a shame because running a baseball bat is a fun iconic thing to do

i dont care about whats better
unarmed is also fun

lol you know nothing of the game
guns are weak as shit compared to melee. they might be strong once you get them, but melee quickly out damages them.

I like the crossbow

does that even work? I don't think I've ever tried it other than dropkicks and the stun QTEs

i just find it enjoyable to beat single zombies for a long time
but with legendary levels you can boost your unarmed damage to insane amount and suddenly the game becomes about beating up drunk people

Had a great time with the original game, but the Following was so garbage I barely lasted a couple of hours. Effectively removing all the parkour elements and replacing them with a buggy that's slower than a volatile is not my idea of fun

against pleb zombies you can knock them down then stomp
against big zombies you need legend levels to make punches viable

I preferred the zombie

I was really confused on why they did that. The parkour is easily the strongest feature of the base game next to Jade

Any new info on 2?

E3 is only a month away

>get guns
>buy a few points for them in the legend skills
>it scales insanely quickly
>now does thousands of damage

They'd probably be shit before the Legend levels were introduced, but seems kinda broken afterwards

But that also applies to melee weapons

actually you can by buying and selling weapons
if you have a shotgun, you buy another one and you get one clip as well, then you sell the shotgun you just bought
so yeah, you can buy ammo on hard this way even tho a clip costs like 1,5k bucks
