I dropped it around chapter 4 I think, when you get to Tantal. It was just really boring to me, the story didn't seem to be going anywhere fast, and the combat started to get boring once I figured out how it works. None of the characters were all that interesting either, especially Rex. Graphics were underwhelming. Then I got a bunch of smaller issues like the blade system in general, the map layout, the quest design. Maybe I'll finish it one day, since I spent money on it day one, but I just completely lost interest.

There was a thread the other day about Persona 5 vs XC2, it ended up as a 500 posts XC2 discussion thread

It was alright. The game gives you a good hook to get invested at the end of chapter 3 and then slows the pace to a fucking crawl with stuff that, while overall important, doesnt feel that relevant at the time until the end of chapter 6 tries a similar hook tactic. Then the issue becomes the fact that you've lost your best weapon for a chapter so you go to do shit to get it back, but it takes you into that godawful Spirit Crucible and makes it feel more like a chore than anything. The main thing that got me truly invested was the visions Rex got when he picked up the sword in chapter 7, because more than anything going on in the plot I wanted to know how things connected.

Gameplaywise its ok, but I feel the limited Arts per weapon class really drag it down. I know the point is to mix n match 3 blades to do whatever works best but still I feel like they could have done more than 4 Arts per weapon. Despite my gripes I still enjoyed a lot of my time with it, especially through chapters 8-10.

I enjoyed Torna a whole lot more than I did the main game, I dont know if its because I liked the characters more or because of the Gameplay + QoL changes, but Torna was a fantastic experience and one of the best DLCs I've ever played, with the only shortcoming being that mandatory sidequest bit.

morytha wasn't even so bad, Tantal is by far the worst map to get anywhere.

4 arts per blade is such a fucking stupid system, and by chapter 6 you can't even afford to upgrade the arts anymore. this game would have been so much better if you unlocked new arts as the blade levels up.

The game looks better in these screenshots since it's console mode then shrunk down to far below 1280x720. In the actual game that has shoddy Anti Aliasing and low resolution with dynamic resolution scaling. One of those games that made me wish switch had the power to push x2 SMAA and full 1080p native output for this game.

No, not even remotely close. Those areas are just your standard jRPGs corridors, when you're reaching industrial/ruined areas. And it's to be expected, as you're reaching the end of the game and the story ramps up that way. Just because before you had big expanded areas and it now goes back into a standard jRPG flavor at some point doesn't make it the worst, it just shows you how shallow other jRPGs are with their level designs from their beginning to their end.

Morytha serves its purpose very well as a doom and gloom area. Its not very fun to navigate and doesnt have much to explore which is kinda the point since its basically Chernobyl on steroids but in context of the story I thought it was a beautiful place.

I agree with this. The gacha is specifically made to give everybody a different experience, and to encourage them to not care so much if their builds aren't 100% optimal. I'd personally love to go back and replay this game just because I might get to utilize some rare blades that I've never used before. It's got kind of a Pokemon-ish charm to it.

Torna gets its own menu icon if you have the Torna cartridges, otherwise if it's digital, it's launched through XC2's title menu. As for getting the swimsuit, you can get them after chapter 3, you'll have access to the Land of Challenges, but I'm not sure you'll be able to farm nopon's coins effectively so early in the game

They're pretty much post game. You need to grind in challenge mode to buy them, and that's not something that's easy to do before finishing the game. Torna gets its own menu icon if you spend $10 more for the standalone version, but otherwise it just launches from XB2's main menu.

Ursula was the only affinity chart that was absolute horse shit but it was understandably tedious because she provides unique healing capacity for ATK/TNK builds without the need for ether investment. Really the Gacha system would of been fine if it had the pity mechanic work all the time rather than just for four blades that last 250 legendary cores I had to burn to get Patroka was fucking brutal.

It goes lower than that. The resolution in handheld mode is my biggest issue with this fucking game.

No, it's literally the other way around. Treehouse actually bullshitted like 75% of XBX's dialogue, only keeping the general gist of everything the same. Most of X's cast in English doesn't even have a similar personality to the cast in Japanese.
They even censored and changed up Cross's voices/personalities altogether, the English personalities don't equate to the Japanese personalities and removed the blatant lesbian battle dialogue between Elma and one of femCross's personality for example.

I love everything about it honestly. Went into xenoblade x blind as the first game of the series and I loved it. Made me feel like I was playing pso but with mechs. Xenoblade 2 is just on a whole other level. The games entire soundtrack is amazing, so much so I bought the music cause I loved it that much. All the environments are beautiful to run around and look at, coupled with the weather/time changes made me want to just find a good spot and watch. The characters are fun. I pretty much love all the party members and their blades. I like the gacha mechanic as well. The combat mechanic is flashy and fun too.

With all that being said man do some of the english voice acting suck FUCKING balls. Like whoever was that bitch that voiced pyra/mythra should be black listed from ever voicing anything again. She could not emote to save her fucking life it was so grating and annoying to sit through listening to that bitchy monotone voice that aged the character like an extra 10-15 years. I tried to give her a chance I really did but all throughout the fucking games cut-scenes hearing anything come from that whores gaping cock hole ruined any mood or atmosphere it was trying to build.

「本が好きな打撃系キャラ」という、ちょっと変わった設定だったので、最初、自主ボツ含めてけっこうな数のラフを描いた覚えがあります。最終的には全身が本をバラしたような紙で構成されつつ、「でもまだ知識欲が満たされないのでお腹を構成する紙が足りていない、しかもボディー攻撃が効かなそう!」というのを思いついたあとはスラスラ描けました。気に入っているところはそのお腹のあたりと、それでも打撃系に進んだ心意気を買って本を突き抜けさせた手のデザイン(最初は本を殴って突き抜けたようなデザインで描いたのですが、僕の仕事的にも背徳感が半端なかったので止めました)。後は知識欲に縛られている感じと切っても切れない感じを出したかった極太鎖でつながった本です。
