My Nigga you have supreme taste. If you don't have a problem with horrible gmerna voice acting or no voice acting at all i recommend the odysse mod:

worldofgothic.de/dl/download_522.htm

English instructions are down below

Tibia
Escape from Tarkov
Seven

>Tibia

Ultima 7 is that you?

>EFT

If you don't know the maps before going in you're pretty much just gonna die and lose all your gear

World of Xeen for me. It's been a while.

Attached: morrowind.0.jpg (1200x800, 187K)

Unironically Skyrim for me. The game isn't great but the simple combat means exploring wasn't a hassle, the game is broken enough that you can jump up cliffs with enough effort, and it was so fat with loot that there was always a carrot at the end of the string somewhere. If only the actual dungeons were more interesting than a loot donut. And the quests were any good. And etc etc

Attached: 1546142504550.jpg (584x575, 50K)

Horizon Zero Dawn
Red Dead Redemption 2

Outward.

Exploration in Skyrim was ruined because of randomized chests. While in Morrowind, you could find epic artifacts just lying hidden.

Attached: treasure.jpg (686x312, 267K)

Been thinking about trying out Morrowind, is it fun?

Its fun but a pain to run in widescreen

Tedium =/= fun

I agree that leveled loot did suck some of the fun out of it (and oblivion), though there were still things like the dragon priest masks. Though from an exploration standpoint I don't like fixed loot like that, it means on subsequent games you usually have a plan for what to go for and in what order rather than 'wherever'. Of course Skyrim doesn't have anything on floating around (much better) dungeons with levitate spells and finding random shit but the thread did say last game.

Before someone posts morrowindcombat.gif understand that the game is first person but it's designed with those old top down crpg paradigms about your stats and numbers defining success chances on anything you do. You may swing your sword all you want and you will see the animation hit the monster, but the number determines if you actually land a hit or not.

Fallout 76. No really, it's fucking fine to just go from place to place, killing and looting everything.
There are lots of unique locations but relatively few actual interior dungeons.
In a way though it's better then previous Beth games which all had the same copy-pasted hallway interiors.

Shadow Tower: Abyss

Dragon Age Origins for me, even though it wasnt open world I loved exploring maps.

Sekiro.

BOTW

Dude, supreme taste and based.

Attached: t1.gif (400x360, 1.26M)

What do you think of the echo night series? Just started on two.

>let me tell you about this old and forgotten shit game so you can be amazed about my contrarian taste

Breath of the Wild

Enderal.
The dungeons were good and the loot you found even more.

user the exploration is garbage in 76, the world is really boring and completely predictable. The entire game revolved around this garbage explore > shoot > loot and the only reason the exploring exists is so its just not a series of corridors of shooting and looting. There is no world, there is no story, there is no well thought out mini narratives or mystery in the world. The only people who like 76's world and its game play is for the mind numbing busywork with a minor gratification system built in that peasants like

Had a blast exploring every corner of the world from Shadow of the Colossus. For being mostly empty there still plenty of neat, tucked away areas to discover with some gorgeous vistas.

Enderal is one of the few games that came close to original gothic in recent years, I heard the develpers want to do their own thing now, time will tell

*Installs mod that guarantees your hits land*
Wasn't that hard was it bethesda

Attached: Dy_FHc3VsAAkc6a.jpg large.jpg (700x396, 24K)

That's more like battle exploration than world exploration. I wanted to see what crazy enemies I could find, but I didn't give a shit about generic Jap castle #18 or rock wall #3

So?
Are you onions elemental that plays offline to learn the map?

Patrician taste. A world that you know doesn't have hidden treasure chests or special bosses, but is just a natural place like you'd explore in real life.

Chilling with Argo and looking for fruit and lizards was super comfy

I don't see a twitter screenshot in the OP, what are you doing here?

>put more skill in axe
>swing 10 times
>swing at most once

more skill you put in, more often you hit retard

How much complete is Tamriel Rebuilt?

it was better than king's field

I've only tried the first one, and I couldn't really get into it. It seemed like the game's focus was primarily on its plot, and I just didn't find the plot to be very compelling. I don't think it's a bad game, just not my thing. I might still try the second one at some point.

It's niche so it's good.

Subnautica

more like swing 10 times and hit once
fuck does it do other than waste my mouse clicks and my time

Far Cry 5

Attached: 15225433303353.jpg (1920x1081, 562K)

Nah but the mod is huge and has shuffeld some stuff around. I recommended it bc it is a Gothic 2.5 mixing Gothic 2 and 3 mechanics (The good stuff like shields) and the islands are huge. The mod is harder than NOTR which is a downside and in general very time comusing. You prob. need 60 hours to finish the main quest minimum.

Agility also determines your hit rate along with weapon skill. If you’re going to use melee weapons I recommend you make agility a favored attribute during character creation.

well considering you can grab a Long Blade at the start of the game with Long Blade as a tagged skill and go hit almost everything within your level range to death very easily and quickly with only one or two misses, you're obviously wrong and got blown the fuck out by a mud-crab because you made a bad character and bad choices.

This is my favorite game in a very long time. It has incredible exploration. It looks retarded, but try out the demo if you don't believe me.

im gonna get shit for this, but Mad Max.
It was a blast seeing all the little easter eggs

Dragon's dogma was pretty fun as far as just adventuring around looking for shit.

This is basically a rec thread. Recommending games that every person has played isn't very helpful.

The fact that BotW isn’t the most common answer here shows that Yea Forums is dead. It is the best exploration game of all time and almost none of you even mention it?

Attached: 785E3AF2-829D-4FBA-A08C-7518F7B07EA6.jpg (1280x720, 246K)

do you know how i can tell youre under 20

morrowind isn't about combat. you can play the game for tens of hours and never fight anything. by the time you do have to fight, you should already be strong enough to kill everything effortlessly.

Had a blast exploring in Elex, superb world design.

Also
to a lesser extent

Thanks. My friend is hugely into everything gothic, but somehow he haven't heard of it, just suggested him to check it out.

it was great for like 20-30 hours, but no replayability.

Fuck off shill. There are no unique items, hidden bosses, or cool treasures to find. Just shitty shrines, korok seeds, and weapons that you will never use because they will break in two hits.

it's an exploration game where everything you find is copypasted

>best exploration game of all time
user it was great but come on. The sense of disappointment that swept across my soul the moment I realized the only thing to find was another shrine or gold poo was one of the worst in modern gaming.

Stalker Call of Pripyat
or Subnautica if you want a non-boomer answer.

Morrowind had randomized chests too.

right

Fuck right off and just let the thread keep going without your faggotry

Is way better. Zelda is reused garbage constantly for 80 hours. Supraland is 20 hours, there is no filler, and it's 1/3 the price. I'll take that over a padfest any day of the week.

One of my favorite "Ubisoft-like" open world games. Great ending too.

Attached: 2018-06-23 10_12_07.jpg (345x281, 33K)

I don't even play the game anymore because it's bad

>mad about his favorite game being shit
sorry it's shit

Honestly, that guttural scream of pure anger followed by the little girl screaming to paint her name with their blood and body parts across the wasteland was just perfect

Yes it does.

The Witcher 3 if you disable most of the hud elements

Finding Ordinator armour in the wastes was fucking fun. And then I needed to run really, really fast from there with half a dozen guys on my tail.

Assassin's Creed Origins, I'd have said Odyssey too if the tombs & cave systems were as good & there wasn't so much filler bullshit

Red Dead was great. The combination of environments, Arthur's journal entries and all the weird and supernatural shit made my dick twitch.

> Tibia

Dam man, I actually don't know of any game today that even touches its exploration and quest system. There's still probably a handful of quests that only ever got figured out by one or two dudes who won't say shit. That game was hardcore as fuck if you think about it.

Xenoblade Chronicles X

You clearly never played morrowind for longer then 6 hours. Why is a complete lack of perseverance so prevalent among people that hate morrowind? It's like you're allergic to progression? Do you need everything unlocked at the start to enjoy the 2 hours a week you spend playing RPGs?

Well, let's be honest, if Morrowind had combat similar to Dragon's Dogma it would only win.

kenshi

sea of thieves

Subnautica was fucking radical, went in knowing fk all about it and it was GoTY for me because of teh exploration pretty much

Why would I play trash for longer than 6 hours just hoping it'll get good. I'm not a poorfag slav that can only afford 1 game which I'm stuck with and forced to play until babushka grants me a new one user.

Attached: face2.png (190x164, 21K)

man this game is pure fire, so atmospheric. Solid 9/10 easily once you are into it

Go bak to reddit

if you refuse to play a game that you don't like immediately when you start playing it, you probably play nothing but shallow, samey games.

>EFT

Loot is for the most part predermined and spawns in set areas. There's zero point to explore, you just decide how much risk you want to take and what kind of loot you want to get, and then you plan your raid accordingly. As another user said, playing that game without knowing the map is stupid and you're a retard for trying to rope other anons into playing that game thinking it's some kind of exploration game when it is, in fact, a glorified battle royale.

Most games aren't even longer than like 12ish hours, 6 hours would be literally half the game.

Attached: 034532537981ed4026aa5f397c65d414.png (123x118, 24K)

I guess I wasted my time by having fun with the game the more immersive way.
To bad I cant undo all that fun!

Any opinion about Outward ?
I'm hesitating about buying it.

i played the demo but stopped after the tutorial because the view distance was god awful and that kid who just watches us was off-putting

>Most games aren't even longer than like 12ish hours
you definitely play nothing but shallow, samey games

Yes, play the game with immersion, then I'll drop you while you're wandering aimlessly and put your backpack into mine. Great job. You can immerse yourself in EFT while also acknowledging that it is not at all an exploration game.

You posted it

It is, which is why it's shit.

this shit makes DAII feel like a decent game

Elex is great

Subnautica was actually great at this aspect.

>Yes, play the game with immersion, then I'll drop you while you're wandering aimlessly and put your backpack into mine
Why would you be on a corner of the map with no usefull loot?
Why would he be butthurt from losing his backpack if he wont have anything of value since he will be too late to get the good stuff if he doesn't know the map?

>makes DAII feel like a decent game
I've avoided that series past Origins - how is that even possible?

Risen is every bit as good as Gothic II
Risen 3 is far from what I'd call good but if you're starved it might do
Elex is better than Risen 3 but again, far from perfect

>planning your raid so you dont lose your gear and not dilly dallying around the map is metafagging
Alright, I got it. You retards play scav exclusively.

How retarded are you?

Dark Souls 2

>Tibia
my nigger, I played it a lot in 2002~2004, no other MMO made me so scared of exploring unknown caves like that.

>think
It makes moolah, that’s the problem.

>no other MMO made me so scared of exploring unknown caves like that.
Exactly.
The combination of the following made exploration amazing and forcer players to be carefull and develop technics to survive the perils:
>holes dont let you know whats on the other side
>hole you can't return from without the hhelp of another player
>holes you can't return from at all
>difficulty of monsters is not linear through your adventure
>need food to heal yourself
>need tools to move through certain areas
This shitty MMO was the BEST MMO for exploration.

Witcher 3. Mostly cuz it's a pretty game and fun to dawdle about in and get lost on side quests. After a while though the content gets really stale, but the graphics hold up very well.

>exploration game where you're not supposed to explore everywhere

not him but that's not a good argument in favor of BotW

like 40 or 50%. Still fun to explore what is there

???
Just use OpenMW or MGXE

Elex is closer to Gothic 2 than any other clone, they seem to have found the spark again. I have high hopes for Elex 2.

There are mods for Risen? Any good ones?

Ok retard buddy

kingdom come deliverance

It just came out last week.

Apologize.

Attached: björn.jpg (600x800, 97K)

I can't think of a single game where exploring is fun, but that's because open world games make getting around such a fucking chore. If they made an open world game where you were some kinda fucking ninja with blinks and grappling hooks and running up walls and running at super speed and leaping through trees and shit then I think that would make exploring fun. But as it stands, open world games are unplayable unless you're a NEET with infinite time to watch your slow ass character trudge across a field.

I guess exploring in some CRPGs is okay but a lot of them discourage it through enemy levels forcing a specific progression path.

>It is the best exploration game of all time
found the 14-year old

Sekiro

I finished the demo and I liked the game world but the combat was so fucking shit and tedious I sighed in exasperation every time enemies showed up. Does it get better once you unlock the gun? How much content is there after the demo stuff?

>reading guides online about where to find the best loot and spawn points is not playing by the meta
Ok kid.

this and only this
botw was an amazing skeleton with no muscle on it.

Morrowind

Subnautica
botw is overhyped garbage

World of Warcraft

My nigga, came to post this.
Say what you will about the rest of the game, but X easily has the greatest open world in vidya.

Attached: noctilum.jpg (6660x3117, 3.25M)

Been playing AC Odyssey these last days and while there sadly isn't a lot to do outside of quests, I still enjoy traversing the world because it's so damn pretty. Also, the web of conspiracy shit really adds to it.

>explore slightly off the mainline path
>get one shot by overlevelled wolves
The levelling system was too retarded to make exploration fun, even ignoring the fact that the world is bland and full of copy pasted assets. Origins was a lot better.

space engineers
eve online

>eve online
I forced myself to believe this back when I played. But jesus, there is literally nothing worthwhile to find if you explore with an interceptor.

That’s not what he said faggot. The problem is that it feels like you always stumble upon them instead of actually neat things to explore. The world is really shitty in its predictability

>exploring with an interceptor
You wont be finding much if you explore with one of those. Eve has a large amount of lore locations around the galaxy, visiting them is quite fun + if you go in a exploration ship you can just run data/relic sites and wormhole your way back to high sec once you get bored

For me, FFXI. Nothing has been able to touch that.

This

Deus Ex Mankind Divided has god tier environments

your moms fucking crypt, whore.

He implied that "exploration" can be defined by the items you find while exploring. That's so retarded.

Stop spamming click, if you have zero stamina you won't hit anything

That's the opposite of good exploration.

Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
and pic

Attached: Mass_Effect_Andromeda_cover.jpg (341x480, 47K)

Explain

is it worth it user, ive only heard bad things about andromeda

The walk speed and the running speed are both painfully slow. Stamina is retarded for a game as big as TES3. Some parts of the world are painfully boring and don't offer a lot aside from encyclopedia NPCs and the same looking tomb, the variation of which you've seen eight times.

>but muh mods
>but muh abusing alchemy to fly everywhere or run at super speed
Fucking amazing, but you first have to deal with bullshit for the initial five or so hours.

Red Dead Redemption 2, before that was Zelda BotW.

Attached: log2.jpg (616x353, 39K)

It's worth it in the sense that it's a literal exploration fantasy. The gameplay is for fucks, though.

>Zelda BotW
Remember when you picked up that apple or that spear that broke after 10 pokes? Gothic and Risen series shit on every RPG in their exploration aspect.

Ok so you are just a brainlet afterall.
You can counter the stamina drain while running easy early on and after a few hours in you can cross half the map with one jump. Even if you dont know those things just wear light armor and your run speed is fine because you are not carrying 200kg of armor with you

Division 2, exploration only nets you environmental story telling though, no loot
Mad Max
AC: Odyssey
Elex

yeah, I'm so thirsty for an alien planet/ruins exploration game that I would consider that too

this

Listen, I was going easy on the game, but what I mentioned in the previous post is just the tip of the iceberg. The game fucking sucks and is nothing compared to G1 and G2, that's a fact.

The last game where i enjoyed exploration was enderal,. I'm looking forward to try some ragnarok private server to explore the game for my first time, also i loved exploring runescape (i never had mems) and Yea Forumsscape unironically was good for it since it has quests and shit so im not just free roaming on some crappy server

I feel like Super Mario 64 is underrated as an exploration game

Cool fact bro

I bought it on release and loved it.
Tried to replay it a few months ago and got bored about 1/3 of the way through.
Under all of shitty animations, cringey dialogue, and mediocre story, there is a good game. Exploration is solid, driving around in the car feels great and the jump jets lets make running around interesting. Combat is probably where the game shines the most, though if you want to play an ability based class, I suggest getting mod to remove the cooldown of class change.

this very much

Why not both my dude.
First gothic afterwards Witcher

Gothic 1

Shame it had absolutely nothing to do with Prague whatsoever other than slightly Prague-ish skybox. And that "czech" used, Jesus Christ, what an abomination. I guess it is too hard to hire normal Czech speaker to do it, so you actually produce something worse than what would translator spit out.

t. Czech

thirding Outward. Exploring the world is an actually fun experience as long as you don't spoil everything by reading too many guides

Lulwot?
Every island is the same. All the enemies are the fucking same.
The treasure is the same.
There is NOTHING to discover.
That's the problem with the game, it SHOULD have been this amazing place, filled with discoveries etc, but even now with the story update, it's just a series of shitty fucking google maps navigation steps.
A check list.

Fuck this game, and fuck you for reminding me that it COULD have been a great pirate adventure.

Don't buy at full price.
Half at most.

Play G1-2 and then TW1-3 (if you haven't already).

Motherfucking Elex. Jankfest, but the exploration is top notch and I really liked it.

New Vegas if you remove the HUD

eh, $40 isn't bad for a split-screen adventure RPG
you will definitely get 40 bucks out of it if you like the genre. I've spent $40 on waaaaay worse "AAA" games.

do i need to play the first?

Not at all.

ok thanks, ive been needing more scifi rpgs lately and replaying the trilogy gets boring after a dozen times

Recommend games that have exploration in colorful environments like this. The rest of XBCX doesnt look like this

Pretty much the end all goal of that game.

>grab the way
grab the eye*

What is the best clan in ELEX

ARK has a lot if cool shit to explore and find across all its maps.

Telvanni

Tremere.

Its much consistently easier to just make a blanket case of random things than putting encounters and scaling mobs of an area by hand. And when it takes less time and manpower to do something, it costs less money, if it costs less money then investors are happy.

I refuse to believe there is a world where people unironically believe this

clerics are the most op, berserkers are the most fun to play.

Gothic 2 Notr

*Gothic 2 (with expansion)

Well it's basically Vargtard furry larpers, Brotherhood of Nod space marines and mad max raiders who are not mad max raiders. I like Clerics the most.

Fallout 76 has a cool map that would have been much better in a single player game

Could be how should i know. I am German so i dont know

bandits

>Brotherhood of Nod space marines
You're making me want to play it now

One vision, one purpose brother.

I genuinely had a lot of fun exploring the map in Conan Exiles and getting bits of lore from everything.

Attached: 440900_20190320130537_1.png (1920x1080, 1.32M)

From what I read, they all have their problems, lore-wise
>hurr durr let's only use this awesome new element to regress technologically
>hurr durr we only care about individual freedom except for the very strict hierarchy we built
>hurr durr oppressive religious cult
I think I'll have to decide between clerics and berserkers based on gameplay and lore then

Fuck off, it was terrible, how shit could your taste be

Yes
It changes the gameplay of vanilla gothic. I would recommend just playing with DX11 (altough it is mostly a given that DX11 will kill your save after 50 hours ingame)

Peace through power

Attached: 1543285530628.jpg (2133x1200, 1.57M)

Final Fantasy 11, base through ToAU

Man I just remembered how great it was to try and find your way in the forest around Flotsam in Witcher 2 and how the monster hunting actually consisted of finding them first instead of just walking to a question mark on the map

I generally agree with your assessment. But then again, I believe that in post-apocalyptic society you need strict and iron hand to make order and btfo shitters like raiders, so Clerics are making sense. Also them Nod aesthetics.

never post that image again, there are no C&C games after RA2 Kane lives!

How do you even use that?

Surely it requires more than just unpacking some normal maps?

Are you the Gothic autist that loves to bash Morrowind?

They are a pain to run. I would only recommend Morrowind Code patcher

>Kane lives
Yeah on his home planet probably
>But then again, I believe that in post-apocalyptic society you need strict and iron hand to make order and btfo shitters like raiders
Yeah that makes sense. It's just funny to be the guy (or faction in this guy) who gets dropped into a high tech world and refuses to use that tech. Same for normal people in magic settings winning against demigods

not that user but the world is fucking empty and not even very good looking. the survival mechanics are good, so the way you explore is good, but he world is just too boring.

>fuck my ass
ok

>world is fucking empty and not even very good looking
subjective, but I found the exact opposite to be true. the world is full of resources and dangerous mobs. there are dungeons all over the goddamn place filled with loot. it's way more dense than most 'open world' games.
I really like the way it looks and the differences between the 4 big maps are pretty neat. stuff like the purple of Conflux Mountain and the layout of the swamp really stand out as unique from the rest. I think the weakest area is the forest because it's not particularly interesting besides a few quirks.

I never had any problems with. Normally this guy should have a monologue why he wants to be a paladin.

Gothic (optional) > Gothic 2 > Witcher > Risen > Witcher 2 FCR2 > Witcher 3

Play in that order.

>Exploration in Skyrim was ruined because of randomized chests.
if exploration is only rewarded by things you take with you, it is already bad. good exploration rewards with things that entertain you to explore and see, finding gear is a bonus.

Sure, but I think that describes plenty of Gothic fans.

disgusting lighting.

But Gothic world is much smaller than your regular open world and yet it's brimming with better content. When will modern developers finally realize that bigger doesn't mean better.

The DX11 renderer is a bit of an ass, i don't recommend using it, only if you want pretty grapics. Wait i translate the installtion for DX11

Did anyone play Kenshi?

Attached: 3416.jpg (271x377, 17K)

One of the best and most comfy exploration games of ALL time was Star Wars Galaxies

>vast, undeveloped, open planets
>hundreds of square km
>can build houses or towns anywhere
>perhaps stand in a place no one before you has ever been
>making a camp site on a ridge on Talus and watching the sun rise while out on a hunt with buds

If you never played this game, I'm so sorry for you.

What exactly is fun in exploring Andromeda's locations? No, really, I want to know. Because for all that the world might look beautiful, it was fucking dull as shit to play in, much like Dragon Age Inquisition.

Bigger is better because bigger is good publicity. Therefor cheaper.

If you play without voice acting than the MC shoudl have a short monologue where you cannot move

Yes I have played that boring open as fuck world with absolutely nothing in it

Clerics are based

>They are a pain to run.
the fuck

Is Knots' guide still relevant or should I just install Code Patch or whatever

Good taste op

There are bugs for it that are being patched out. The graphics aren't as good as Witcher if that's your thing, but the art direction is there and things are still gorgeous to look at.

Buying it supports the devs so they can make other games and continue support on it. It may not be worth if you're used to perfectly polished titles, but it's very fun and can be rewarding. Better money spent than Anthem for example.

Vanilla WoW.

If you are blessed enough and you never get an instant error when starting MXE than cool. OpenMW is ok but i like to play vanilla

Hibernia is the comfiest realm. You cannot prove me wrong.

say what you want about the combat but the world is fantastic.

>Nothing to discover

>Same treasures
>Same map quests
>Cosmetic rewards instead of anything substantial

How the fuck did they miss the mark SO hard?

If you want exploration play X, it does have other areas that are colorful even if it goes for more muted and realistic tones overall. The other 2 Xenoblade games don't have nearly as much exploration but the environments are all pretty vibrant, pic related.
Breath of the Wild is the best game on the market if you want both good exploration and a colorful art style. Wind Waker can be fun too if you like the sailing.

Attached: serveimage.jpg (1280x720, 247K)

BTFO
Jesus, tryhards make me want to go back to the days of fratboys being afraid to touch a game console. It's always those fuckers that act like this.

Just cause 2 sounds good for you then

Breath of the wild has great exploration and nice environments
But shit loot rewards for it due to the games enemy scaling and go anywhere any time level design

L'Hiver graphics changes the look of the original game. Play through it with DX11 and install the L'Hiver mod. It changes models and the overall look.

Make potions of stamina regen. Ingredients are dirt cheap, and vendors restock immediately. Invest in alteration; make a strong, short lasting jump spell, then use a cheap slow fall spell to land. Use mark and recall to cut down on back tracking.
this is completely true, but doesn't mean shit

How did you guys enjoy Gothic 3? Personally I really liked it.

>Games you've heard before
user, this isn't the place

finally

I found that dx11 renderer is totally unnecessary. Player kit and system pack do a phenomenal job of making the game run at high resolution /framerate and extend viewing distance. Dx11 just offers really bad shadows and AO which is unnecessary

I got a bit of enjoyment out of it because I really wanted more Gothic after finishing the first two. It really felt too big for its boots though, I really liked how tight and comparatively small the worlds of G1&2 were. And I guess this was exacerbated by the fact that they had to rush release. It also throws way too many enemies at you at some points in the game, like one of the skeleton caves and if you wanna do the town conquest stuff, it just turns into a drag.

And ruins your save file if you have bad luck if i might add that

dragons dogma

tell me more user

Dying Light just from the traversal alone.

your mom isnt great

your mom was ruined because of her randomized chest.

There was some drama in the modding team and now it split into two mods in the making. One is called Kroniki Myrtany second is called Dzieje Khorinis. One of them recently reavealed the release date - 2020.
Personally there has been so much teasing and time in development that I don't give a fuck about either of them anymore untill they actually release.

game good

it is good

Yeah

Why Gothic then witcher then risen? That's retarded.

oh, a sane opinion.

>amazing tits
>dumb face
This makes me diamonds.

>needing more scifi rpgs
try surge, not exactly character rich but scifi factor is pretty high tier

It's a progression from most jank to least jank

Sekiro

Breath of the Wild

the forest. going down into a spooky cave, fighting supermutants in pitch darkness, and emerging with a new gamechanging tool was great. 10/10 exploration game

>find some closed gates

Guides are ok, depends on which game tho

absolutely loved da:o but I don't see how you can call any aspect of that game "exploration"

>*installs mod that instantly finishes the game and takes you to the end credits*
>lmao game devs sure are retarded

last?
Kingdom Come Deliverance

You are one of the biggest problems to modern games. Just play the fucking game, retard. How do you think that guy who wrote the guide figured all that shit out?

ill take a look
tbanks

lol

Can I get the game to run at 1080p somehow? I tried editing the values in the Gothic.ini but it crashed on launch.

>when nearly everything about game sucks balls, but you keep playing because map is outright stunning

Yeah, why don't you necklace yourself nigger

Is that the G3 expansion?

>that Nordmar theme

main purpose of systempack were engine updates to fix issues with modern systems, including lack of modern resolution settings

Red Dead Redemption 2

Yes use system pack and player kit

As others said Subnautica is an easy answer for the last game that had fun exploration, the sad part is that I can't remember any other such games from the last 5 years.

for me, it's geldern night
youtube.com/watch?v=wCtV4DYZkK0

BFA when it first came out. I really enjoyed the questing and new areas. Luckily I started a new character prior for the expansion so I didn't have the massive power loss from losing legendaries. Then I hit level cap and realized that there was no endgame content

Private server with friends would be kino.

It's just regular 3.

For me it's Varant

youtube.com/watch?v=xXjJiLBz0wU

Beautifull... Gothic 3 still kind of carries the soul of 1 & 2.

Absolutely amazing taste user

youtube.com/watch?v=z9O_naB_4dU

This.

I also remember turning off enemies and just walking around Half-Life 1.

There were other games where I did that as well but Morrowind & Half-Life 1 are the ones that I remember the most.

Okay got the mod running and the translation is absolute garbage. I think it was literally google translated. Not really enjoyable to play.

Attached: 1497686611922.jpg (320x286, 31K)

Any of you regretting buying pic related?

its like sacred 3 a complete abomination

I wish I experience that game so fucking bad

Dying light is pretty fun for urban exploration.

Yes, in my defence I was still a teenager when it came out.

Attached: 1532353325010.png (718x802, 585K)

Yeah, same. Even got the special edition.

ELEX fags, have the combat, AI, and map marker issues been fixed? or is this IGN review still accurate:

youtube.com/watch?v=rwas-jf8rAY

Attached: Elex-thumb.png (1600x900, 2.96M)

You. You are 100%, without a doubt, SURELY my nigga.

SWG is the one game I would give up every other game to play from the start again. Even knowing the CU/NGE would eventually happen all over again.

Is that the thing where you have an exosuit that allows you take lifeforce from shit

>IGN

I was mostly playing Planetside back then, didnt get into it until the space combat update that supposedly killed everything

The system pack and player kit doesn't affect the languages in game dude.

Ign reviews are never accurate.

yea, the exosuit felt really good to travel and jump around in.

hell yeah, I wasn't sure if anyone else was going to mention it but exploring the world on you first playthrough is great. It get tedious eventually but unlimited ferrystones and port crystals help with that. I've been replaying recently and haven't played in a super long time and there's actually quite a few really cool places that you might not even find on a normal playthrough. I feel like tons of people miss soulflayer canyon which is a shame because its a cool place.

Yeah I saw gameplay videos that looked cool but completely forgot about the game
Put it on my list so I'll remember to check it out

Attached: 1410806490696.gif (352x326, 2.1M)

gamerankings and metacritic put this game at ~60%. i want to try ELEX, but most video reviews shit heavily on the combat and AI. is it still broken or not?

Attached: Snapshot_2017-02-23_3840X2160_noUI_0088.png (3840x2160, 2.87M)

Outward is pretty fun
But i wouldn't touch it with a ten feet pole without Master Merchant Boots.

Its basically Gothic, except you stay as a somewhat hardcore level 1 human instead of becoming a massive strong destroyer of words with 999 stats.
And since you don't really become any stronger, you end up playing it very different from similar games once you get going.

Gothic 1 -> Witcher 1 -> rest of the games in any order
But that sword is for monsters!

Attached: Cinebilder_2015-06-06-16h03m53s361.png (540x360, 303K)

no

Pretty sure everything that was broken is fixed by now. I played it on release and never really encountered a bug though, so not sure what was really broken in the first place.
There's no way to fix the combat. You have to exploit the game in every way you can think of until you become strong enough to wipe the floor with the enemies.

Most reviewers are fucking retards user if you pay any mind to game reviews after 2004 you are brain dead.

>I have reoccurring dreams where I leap in the air and then go down again and again, running through woods, big open fields or mountains
>this game has that exact feeling
shame there are no mod made maps, that tram lines underground running section was amazing

The game is fine now, I never played it unpatched so I dunno what was wrong before. Regardless, it's not the kind of game journalists will like even if it had perfect mechanics. It doesn't hold your hand and it's really punishing until you git gud so unless someone popularizes an Elex craze like people did with Soulslike games, journalists will never, ever give it a good score.

Retard here, if I buy the Gothic trilogy on steam, I do have to download some extra stuff to change the language, right?

Does it have to be out in nature? Otherwise Hulk: UD or Prototype 2 has that kind of movement as well

>Gothic 1 -> Witcher 1
Gothic 2 NoTR > Gothic 2 => Witcher 3
ffy

Yeah no shit. I was talking about the mod.

In what language do you want to play?

Nah, why would you? It's not one of those obscure russian games that 5 people played, breh. You might have to get some patches or something o avoid crashing for new OSs though.

Finished MQ and going through Bloodmoon right now, yeah this hits the spot.

You also need to download patches so you can play them.
Just pirate the GOG version.

Play order user
Not quality.
Quality list of Gothic vs Witcher is going to be all over the place, so long Gothic 3/4 and Witcher 2 isn't high on that list.

Attached: Cinebilder_2015-07-11-04h30m56s819.png (320x240, 58K)

I kind of liked exploration in Sekiro, it was much better than the combat

>Witcher 2 isn't high on that list

german
ok, thank you very much

rogue legacy

>it's not enjoyable to play the installer
What did he mean by this

>tfw am wearing very heavy armor and a heavy backpack and am regularly overloaded while my friend is a sanic 2hander character

>Gothic 4

we'll rank that when it comes out, user

Du musst nur das Spiel auf Deutsch stellen, bevor du es installierst, falls du dein Steam auf Englisch hast.

>German game
>Asking if there's german language
Dude are you for real?

Buy it on GOG the developers still need to know we need a masterpeice like this again. Alos the GOG version works best, but patches from World of Gothic are still required for 1080p 60fps

Subnautica
Unturned
The Long Dark
Red Dead Redemption
Unironically fallout 4

is there a single game out there with good gameplay and good exploration? theres always a trade off

Dayz mod
Dayz Standalone after they finally released the game. Loads of map changes and additions, more military zones, city and town changes.
Fallout 3
And I guess Minecraft but fuck the new update.

>got the mod running
>as in actually started it up and talked to the first npc and it was instantly obvious that the damn thing was google translated because the english in it was so retarded
I'm sorry that I have to insult your favorite mod but you can't really recommend that to anyone in English.

Outward unironically. It's so nostalgic of the Gothic days.

Attached: outward.jpg (800x445, 129K)

>the developers still need to know we need a masterpeice like this again
Huh? But recreating the magic of Gothic is literally all Piranha Bytes do all day

Prey

Let me say again

The system pack and player kit doesn't affect the languages in game dude.

oh fuck thanks
didn't ask if there was one

>le open world crafting

Talk about a subjective as fuck question

The game is fantastic, the people who complain about the combat are weeb shitters who think if a game isn't Devil Mega Cock or Ninja Gayden it's shit.

How come they've failed to do just that in every game they've released after Gothic 2?

do you want to know how youre underage?

I always see Academagia called a wiki game but trial-and-erroring my way through it and finding out all the weird shit was the most fun I've had in years.

Your nostalgia, mostly. Risen 1 and ELEX are at least as good

DD

I NEVER CLAIMED THEY DO. I tried playing this fucking mod and the reply chain was in relation to that. That mod is a full conversion that has a shitty english translation. Read the fucking replychain you inbred moron.

Hell yeah. I just wish there was a bit more to it.

It's because not enough years have passed since your birth for you to be considered off age
Hope that helps, have a great day :)

nuPrey

After Risen 1? No they did not

No mans sky, starsector, Factorio.

Sorry again. I tought it was properly translated

TW3 just has an Ubisoft open world with copypasted "content" slapped on top of the game, the world could easily have been the size of W2 and handcrafted without losing anything
>No mans sky

Attached: 1399312737493.jpg (314x464, 43K)

Hmmm I was expecting a mediocre insult but that was decent well done user. And just for the record I'm 25 turning 26 this year.

which stalker is the best one?

>new IP
What are you trying to pull here.
And yeah I just wanted to make fun of the guy who said "wanna know how you're underaged" while forgetting the "I know" part

Lets see:
-Crafting system is really shallow, and only serves as a mechanic to make the player more 'powerful' despite the game having no level up mechanic
-Open world part is good because the world is quite small. But if you play it with movespeed penalities i envy your stupidity
-Its possible to play the game wrong, which is a great quality games should have

Attached: Cinebilder_2016-11-05-22h00m44s004.png (1600x930, 1.78M)

>Artifact hunting has never been more challenging

Just play SoC with that broken as shit mod where you had to reload every single bullet into your magazines I think it was called ZRP quite a ride indeed

this x 1000

to each its own.

Depend on who you ask, for me it has to be CoP but I see why some people prefer the original SoC, CS is actually okeish if you mod out the grenade spam

>you will never explore the world of runescape for the first time

Attached: youre-gonna-carry-that-feel.jpg (650x650, 42K)

im gonna pirate it. what patch number is the one that fixed everything?

I think its finally time for me to get into this series

1.0.29 is the last one. I played with .28 GoG and it was fine too.

Has anyone ever found a good reliable way to play gothic 1 and 2 while being able to alt+tab out of the game?

The usually die on you if you even try so much as alt+tab.

Also yes for exploration it was Elex. I didn't like the combat at all and the 'evil/good' so random system. But exploration was great, mostly due to the jetpack in my opinion. In the early beta shots I thought the jetpack was pure horseshit. But it actually made the exploration 3D (technically). You now also had to look up all the time and see.. like 'mmmh I could make it onto that ledge there with the booster'. Was fun.

Goddamn the lighting in Gothic 1&2 made me diamonds, the different colours of light emitted depending on the source like the warm orange from torches, dim blue from the magical ore torches or pure white from the light spell really added to the already thick atmosphere.
>Tfw exploring the darkest corners of the old mine without any light sources left and the SSSssss hits
Also to answer your question, darkwood had terrifying but fun exploration

Attached: darkness my old friend.jpg (460x355, 43K)

I hate those ubishit open world games, but i'm such a Mad Max fanboy that I loved every second of this game

Windowed and using Esc to pause?

i can bet my ass they added the jetpack because they didn't want to code climbing/jumping animations again, every game they got worse and then they just removed them completely lmao

Terraria.
