Mizzurna Falls hack package on Github

github.com/Gemini-Loboto3/Mizzurna-Hacks

>This is the full extend of the sources and some of the data used in the Mizzurna Falls translation project. Since people keep on asking about it, I decided to release the full package to let someone else pick up from where I left, but it's up to the hacker to figure out what's in here.

fucking finally

what is this, never heard of it?

japanese twin peaks in video game format

so it must suck then

pretty much yes

So does this mean the translation can finally be put into the game or what? I followed the fan translation thing for a while but it seemed to hit a roadblock a while ago.

The way it's worded seems to suggest the translation isn't complete and the person decided to quit it. He's also not ready to give this project any more time so leaves no documentation behind.

>the year of our lord 2019
>being an EOP
I can't imagine anything more pathetic.

That's exactly what happened.
Still better than just hoarding it and never releasing.
I hope someone else can come in and finish it.

But what are the other files on the tumblr page about?

Gemini's a fucking hack, holly shit

What tumblr page?

projectmizzurna dot tumblr ?

Those are the same files he has on github, just a bit older and separated.

Then what is this link about? The archive there is about 200 MBs while the whole github archive is just 20MBs.

Whoops meant this post.

That's patched game that replaces text with what is effectively appendices.
You are supposed to then reference the text-only translation he uploaded as txt files and read the lines from there depending on which "ID" the appendices are telling you to read.

That doesn't sound like the best way about it. Did he have trouble introducing the latin text into the game?

take it from someone who beat this game last year, it isnt very good. it has le twin peaks atmosphere but the story sucks balls. you also dont need a super high level of japanese to understand it and you can just pause the emulator to look it up if some sentence gets you stuck.

Yes, that's why he abandoned it

Lots of games have serious issues if you change the size or checksum of a file. It's easier to introduce text that is smaller, and use blank spaces to maintain the same text length in these cases.
Thus, they're impossible to translate without fixing these problems, which may have been more than this guy was capable of.

A good example of this is FF7.
If you add or remove a SINGLE byte of data from the game, it will hard-crash when it goes to read the file it is in. Thus, if I wanted to replace the name of the spell "Meteor" with "Ass", i'd need to introduce 3 more character into the same file or it would crash every time it read the name "Meteor", so I could replace it instead with "My Ass", since that's 5 character and a space, for a total of 6 characters.

It's always been available you just had to ask the person behind it and whoa turns out no one gives a fuck about your lame weeb PSX yes X not 1 you fucking zoomer retard game.
