Is being a streamer hard work?
Is being a streamer hard work?
No, now fuck off.
being a professional masturbator is way harder than being a fucking streamer, the absolute lowest of scums
my son is a streamer, he makes $200 per month and is proud of it LOL, what a goober

if you are attractive female, no
it's work.
It's an actor act that last 8+ hours every day, the game part isn't hard, but the clown skills are tough.
>building a gaming PC capable of ultra settings, rendering, live streaming, and multimedia functions
>learning how to speak while hearing feedback through your headphones
>learning how to have decent audio
>learning about audio interfaces, headphone amps, soundmixers
>creating your own emojis and chatroom commands
>creating your own HUD
>learning about greenscreens
>learning how to be entertaining throughout your whole stream
>being prepared for trolls, scammers, raids, doxxing, and
Depends on how you do it. I've seen a lot of PvP streamers fuck themselves over by getting tired of their main game and losing most of their audience due to wanting to move on. It's either that or die inside and stop enjoying vidya to keep going with what you have.
This. Consistently streaming on a weekly basis is mentally straining. Sometimes you want to do other things . Sitting on computer all day is already unhealthy and now you're stuck if you're streaming because you don't want to get in trouble for being afk for too long or abruptly ending stream to deal with something for a few minutes. Keeping up a friendly, but firm attitude for hours at a time can be
If you're female then yes
>hard
Yes.
>work
No.
None of those are required to be a streamer.
Now imagine setting behind a computer all day and actually working.
I can't even be bothered to play games every single day for 6 hours straight.
I think a lot of people that say it's easy are just jealous, I don't personally watch many streams anymore unless it's griefer streams on youtube, but that shit seems like it would grind down your soul, for anyone that isn't actually stupid enough to think it's "HURR JUST PLAY MUH VIDYERGAME"
Have you seen twitch?
There's a ton of hot girls in there with less than 50 viewers.
It was only easy when the whole e-thot thing began, now it's overly saturated.
About as hard as being a vlogger, I mean blogger, punk rock star, porn actress or an independent writer.
Depends on who you are, but it’s basically an act you have to do for 4-8 hours for children and manchildren and hope they have easy access to their parents’ credit card. How I see it, it has to be mentally draining. Especially if you want to follow trendy garbage or do one thing over and over again like Fortshite or Minecrap, since consistency is one of the keys to getting a following.
>little brother telling me about his friend that makes 6 figures through YouTube streaming Rust
>he'd like to play something different, but his autistic following won't allow it and his views plummet for any other game
It may not be hard, but it's definitely work
pretending to care about shit you don't is hard work for anyone with dignity
r/swooosh
is it hard to please someone else?
Get the fuck out, reddit.
Depends. I wouldn't want to deal with the stupid, autistic fans. Dunno if that's any worse than working in the office and having to listen to water cooler talk.
I use to play video games from waking moment to bed time almost non-stop everyday. Only stopped because I need to get degree and jobs but otherwise would do it again.
It is a different kind of hard work. I would gladly keep my office job over having to be a streamer especially if they paid the same.
I was the same throughout high school and a bit after, I'm 26 now, which isn't that old but "Life" has shit it wants me to do
In a sense, there's probably some kind of spiritual loss knowing that you have to publicly broadcast hours of your life away daily as well as the fact that you probably lose a lot of the simple joy you get from video games once they're forced to occupy so much of your time, and you now need to consider what will generate the most viewership over what you'd actually want to play. The time commitment alone seems like it would be very draining since you're constantly trying to perform and be lively
In the grand scheme of things, though, it's one of the cushiest jobs imaginable, and the people getting away with it have lucked out harder than most people in history
>it's work to play videogames and get paid
Yikes.

If you're a woman, not at all. And i'm saying this completely unironically too.
If you're a guy, the chances of you ever making it in the current market is practically non existent. Don't let that discourage you though, but keep in mind that you will need to find a specific niche, and work REALLY REALLY fucking hard on improving your personality. You will also need to be streaming consistently for hours and hours every day for at least a solid year, before you'll even see progress.
>less than 50 viewers
Bruh if I started streaming I would not even have one viewer.
>building a gaming PC capable of ultra settings, rendering, live streaming, and multimedia functions
Exactly the same as building any other PC, also not required
>learning how to speak while hearing feedback through your headphones
Why on earth are you listening to yourself?
>learning how to have decent audio
EZ
>learning about audio interfaces, headphone amps, soundmixers
not required
>creating your own emojis and chatroom commands
EZ
>creating your own HUD
EZ
>learning about greenscreens
click the part that is green, drag sliders or click again until the green part goes away
>learning how to be entertaining throughout your whole stream
actually the hard part
>being prepared for trolls, scammers, raids, doxxing, and
this too
>There's a ton of hot girls in there with less than 50 viewers.
That's more views than the average male streamer will get in a year. Not even joking.
Its rough if youre a dude, the space is so packed and people already have their favorites.
If youre a woman you just show up whenever and you dont even have to play games. some girl had a "workout session" where she just lived streamed herself working out. tons of viewers.
If shit goes south you can make money just selling selfies and "accidentally " show cleavage
50 views might as well be none.
The only ones who make money are the ones that average at more than a thousand at least.
The streamer and youtuber market is completely oversaturated.
>what form of power is this?
Female privilege.
I kinda like the streamers that are abusive and honest with their chat, angrypug gets pretty sloshed on stream friday nights and just pops off on people. Still gets 2k viewers even though he just plays dbd.
depends on what you mean.
casual streamer like titty streamers or just people who play games? i suppose you have to know how to play games(unless titty streamer), but that's it. you set your own times, you don't have to be super knowledgeable etc.
shoutcasters - a bit harder, but depends on the game. you need to have a lot of knowledge on the game, good word flow, good speaking skills, etc. if you work for some big company(like riot, esl) as a main shoutcaster, big events aren't difficult, there's ussually 2 full sets of casters so they don't actually cast much. if you're a community streamer, you usuall cast alone, so it can get tiring, like if you're casting a 8-10hr tournament. it's still a comfortable job though, you sit and talk about video games.

>Bruh if I started streaming I would not even have one viewer
I hate to brag, but I once had two viewers. That's not even to mention my four followers. I'm pretty big deal is what I'm saying. Honestly though, does anyone just steam for fun anymore? I feel like I'm in an exceptionally small demographic since I just steam for the fuck of it. If people watch they watch, if they don't they don't. Really, I just need an excuse to justify talking to myself while I play.
He's single proof that you don't need to be good at anything to make it as a streamer.
It's definetly harder than working in some braindead labour job. Everybody can do that, streaming is more skillful of a job.
>single
He's married, dumbass
I was hoping this would turn into a Timesplitters thread
No, but you should still be proud of winning at life. You make good money with an easy job that isn't unethical, That's a fucking jackpot.
