What video game could work as a movie?
What video game could work as a movie?
anything on a PS4
world of warcraft
-rob "lootin and pillagin till im back in my village inn"
Tetris
oof.
But the 90's taught us Super Mario Bros works in a so-bad-it's-good way, and 2014 taught us Street Fighter works if done right.
Video games are a lower art form than movies.
You cannot make a good movie out of video games.
Just like you cannot make a good book out of a movie.
There is a hierarchy here.
Books > Movies > Games
SMB was just so-bad-it's-bad
video games have an element not present in other forms of media - player input. most good video games allow you to make choices that let you dictate the direction of the video game, whereas you don't have a choice with books and movies. they just appeal in different ways.
that being said, gta or a similar universe could work because they're basically movies anyway, but then that just becomes your usual crime/black comedy kind of film anyway
ahh
>I wish [established property from a book, videogame, animated series, or comic] was a movie
Pic related is OP
Please explain why a movie, a medium with an arbitrary set time of 3 hours of less, is seen by the be-all-end-all artistic medium? I want to understand the brainlet perspective.
None.
This game is severely underrated. Playing through it now
>Story is endearing. Nothing special but far from awful
>Somewhat believable
>Fantastic setting
>Graphics look incredible on ps4pro 4k
>Guns are fun to use, every weapon feels unique, reminds me of bad company 2
>Driving is fun when you get used to it
>UI design is God tier
>Dialogue is believable and relatable
>just enough Fantasy elements to make you remember you're playing a game and it's supposed to be fun
Cons
>Ubisoft transactions blasted at you when you want to purchase ammo
What is Yea Forumss thoughts? Do we hate it?
Also I want to fugg faith so hard bros
anyone?
The Mario movie was ahead of its time. If it came out today people would be all over it
Nobody said it was a bad game. Yea Forums was fishing all over it on launch.
Good arguement, but I'll have to disagree as I have read good novels based on video games.
It's a good game by FC has been quit literally the same since FC2. Almost nothing has changed between each title it's kind of insulting they don't even attempt to try new things with core game play mechanics. Probably the funnest and wildest thing they've done is give you a spirit owl in primal that behaves exactly like an AC130 gunship. I loved that.
its a step up for sure, when i played it i expected the same far cry 3, far cry 4 grinding side missions ,but they are really cool, improved writing also
Movies are audiovisual. Unlike television they have a clear beginning and end you can finish the entire story in one sitting.
You can watch them with your friends in company. Books are kind of shit in company.
Any game can be adapted into a good film. The only thing that will vary will be the “faithfulness” of the adaptation and the creative liberties that must be taken. It isn’t hard to write an minimally decent screenplay. There’s no excuse.
Bioshock 1.
ARMA 3 campaign.
I dont get it. Theres no reason for stealth or anything, very few weapons are upgrades, and after the first hour every camp/mission is a breeze. Just get the plane guy and you're set.
>Also I want to fugg faith so hard bros
she used to be a meth whore, she's a walking talking STD petri dish
one of the interesting ironies about the game is that on the highest difficulty, the hardest mission in the game is the tutorial
I've heard that.
I think it would be a better game if they tied skills into xp like fc3, to give you a reason to do stealth in outposts, and made weapons actual upgrades
>There is a hierarchy
lol
Max pay- I'll just go cry in the shower again
rent free
no
Video games are the highest form of art, as the audience's participation defines the experience of the art, only in vague subjective interpretations of movies, books, paintings is there any form of participation.
however in games the entire point is the participation between creator/artists and audience/player.
you are indeed a massive homosexual
for once, fpbp. Sony games are only a button press above Netflix’s interactive programs.
Far Cry 5 would have been better as a movie, as a game it was horrible
It definitely took the right cue from BotW as far as allowing you to take the game on by your terms, but the activities across the map still get repetitive, especially by the time you go through the third region. I did like how each region had its own gimmick, like with Jacob’s region having feral animals, Faith’s having bliss mess with you, and John’s just being very militia-esque. I also liked trying to avoid the capture parties once they were sent out, though it led to shenanigans like me getting tranq’d while I was 200 ft in the air in a helicopter.
I’m about 80% through the game and plan to finish it. It’s an improvement from before, but the game still feels like a farcry game, with all the good and bad that comes with that, and the story is still cheesy.
GoldenEye on N64
>do boring activities until you unlock enough points to do a boring story mission
>same gunplay since 3 with a few guns being objectively better than anything else
How is this fun again?
Games are audiovisual. Most have clear beginnings and endings and many can be done in one sitting. You can watch/play them with your friends in company. Checkmate.
(also, books are social too; try book clubs or forums)
I'm using the plane guy - he frequently just randomly crashes and dies. He's pretty glass cannon since if he gets shot up he just dies, no revive
Also stealth in this game is fun and makes things pretty easy desu
As someone who doesn’t really like farcry, this game is only interesting if you roleplay as a rogue cop/country boy trying to take back the countryside. If you play it straight without imagination, it’s not a lot of fun.
>>Also I want to fugg faith so hard bros
>she used to be a meth whore, she's a walking talking STD petri dish
hnnnggg
I’ve gone the entire game without using partners. I got them, but immediately sent them on their way. It’s more fun alone.
Bioshock Infinite would have been better as one
Halo 2 could perfectly translate into a movie
The game feels like an action movie
Movies are shit
