Literally the best graphics in any fighting game, ever. No fightying game has ever achieved 4K HDR at 60fps, let alone on consoles. Gameplay is the best the Mortal Kombat series has ever had. Tons of characters, variations and customization options. Devs are trying to fix the grindiness of the towers and handed out free in-game currency to everyone. Also the most ridiculous MK story ever. All in all, I'd say this is probably my second favourite fighting game of the generation beside Tekken 7. Also the girls look sexy as fuck, everyone looks drastically more realistic compared to MK9 and X.
My honest opinion is most virgin neckbeards have more fun complaining about fighting games they're never going to play than ever actually playing them. I bought the season pass and I'll probably continue playing this game for years upon years, because it's genuinely fun to just run matches and there is guaranteed to be a ton of interesting characters added.
Just sucks all the cosmetics/gear/brutalities stuff is behind this Tower crap. At least in MKX you could just unlock everything for $20 and call it a day.

That's really the thing. The core of what Mortal Kombat 11 is, is a fantastic fighting game that will last for years. But these issues people are throwing up hands about are real issues, but they will in time be either solved or mitigated.

Well I can tell you this: Mortal Kombat is literally my least favourite fighting game series of all-time. I love Street Fighter, Guilty Gear and Tekken waaaaaaay more than Block Button Kombat. Yet I was still excited as hell to play this game and enjoying the hell out of it now that it's finally here.
Microtransactions are optional. You don't have to ever buy into them, you don't have to grind for cosmetics. You can just play the game for the game itself and enjoy it.
I don't care about any of these things.
I had no idea it was "always online", you can play offline modes and just collect the rewards when you connect. The game worked fine while my internet was being fixed. I'm never going to buy any of the microtransactions and care little about cosmetics, so why should I care? And for all the crying about politics in this game, I've legitimately encountered none of it. It's a game about some fucking time god restarting the timeline and all these people from different realms and species and shit fighting and killing each other, who the fuck cares about politics in these games? MKX was more political with Raiden literally telling Kung Jin it's okay to be gay in the story mode.
At the end of the day, it's a fun fucking game and I'm enjoying it. That's the only thing that matters.

Fighting styles were better than picking and choosing your moves, but thats entirely subjective to me.
MK Trilogy and 9 are still peak MK soul, while MKX is generally just better in the gameplay department. MK11 is just... weird. In a bad way.

You know why people are saying MK11's graphics are shit? Because in a few years as everyone tries for more realism and more realism, pushing against a fucking glass ceiling the games before that strived to look real will look like dog shit in comparison. MK11 looks good NOW because it's new and made by a company focusing on making it look "realistic" due to MK's prime selling point of excessive, visceral gore. Meanwhile stuff like Guilty Gear Xrd will still look good because it was stylistically good, it will age far more gracefully because it didn't care about how many polygons could form Sol's left nut.
Now that they increased how much currency and decreased tower difficulty the only real grind is for heads which you can skip with a bug and soul fragments which get solved if you get lucky with a daily reward that gives you 10k of them. Jewing was never a problem since the shop only rotates between 5 items per day.

Probably because it was the game that brought MK back from the brink of death, and it did so by way of simply focusing on being a good game. Limited stage interactions, amazing roster, and a story that appealed to actual fans while also serving as a crash course for newcomers. The challenges and towers were tedious at times, but fair and each DLC fighter was a long requested hit. Except for Freddy. But he had such a solid moveset that it pretty much made up for the fact he was a third party addition.
It's natural that MKX and MK11 will be compared to it. Especially since MKX made a genuine attempt to expand on the formula without repeating the mistakes that game with Armageddon.

You either wait for an item to circulate in to the shop, or wait for an item to circulate in to the towers. Either way, if there's a skin you have you're eye on, there's a pretty low chance you'll actually have a way to obtain that specific one. In previous MK games, you knew what you had to do to get the skin you want, whether it be through a challenge or cheesing through the krypt. Even Overwatch, the current king of cosmetic bullshit, lets you use your saved currency to target and grab the specific skin you want if the loot and timegating prove to be too cumbersome

The servers will shut down for this game before you have the chance to spend any money on a specific skin you want if you're not a retarded whale. People don't seem to be a fan of this one other than some of the character designs. Yeah, I don't like it as much as 4 and the story takes itself too seriously. Kilia is such a boring stale bread protagonist. I think it's genuinely scummy that they neutered the post game on PS4 to sell it as DLC. You need to get Krypt key items then. They are random, and you have to play the game to find them (or find them randomly in the... well, Krypt.)
So... Microtransactions are not this games issue... It was just the grind w/ in-game currency/economy not having a pulse. The only MTX in this game is a revolving shop of I think 6 items on 12 - 24 hour timers and easy fatalities. They are completely out of the way and cannot be used to affect the grind at all to which they are effectively pointless to engage with at all.
There is honestly no fleece to pull like they did with Shadow of War. The only consequence of what the real issue was is burning our on the game before actually enjoying it, which is actually making progress in fixing unlike SFV as an example.

I find the gameplay boring, NRS don't know how to make a neutral based game. It is still go unga with strings, you just have fewer options. Sitting in neutral isn't rewarded with much, and when flawless block starts blowing up those safe strings only the characters with real 50/50s or incredibly good zoning will survive. The options you have in this game are just lame in general. Remember all the weird projectiles MK use to have? Now 90% are fireball, low fireball and ex to shoot two fireballs.
