syncros are fine, xyz was pushing it a bit, and pendulum kinda fucked up a lot of shit but could easily been nerfed. link cards tho completely broke everything. to basically nerf pendulums they changed the board layout, its now pic related. pendulums are now part of the normal spel/trap zone and can only use 3, pretty good change, however you now have a special zone where special monsters like fusions and syncros go, meaning you can only have one special monster on the field. this is where links comes in. links allow you to summon more special monsters cuzz they have arrows on the cards so you can create "links" to the other zones. However, a big part of this is that you can chain a bunch of shit together so you get people who spend 10-20 minutes on their first turn just stacking link monsters and other special summons

Six Sams can 1 turn at least 1 or 2 Shi En to lock you out of your backrow basically, have Fuma or Genba in the grave to protect them from destruction, and have Enishi out for bouncing
Neos puts out a 2.6k beater on the field with a fusion spell that also protects their fusion, and usually dumps something with a graveyard effect
If you think your decks can get over that, then yeah, sure
Yubel is basically monster lockdown with Terror Incarnate and backrow lockdown with Nep i, and new Blue Nep can destroy stuff, too

True Isolde helps out a lot with getting to your Fusion Monsters faster (along with Good bois, Vision HERO Vyon and E-HERO Blazeman for getting your Poly). I just think it's odd that a deck very focus on Fusion Summoning, only 2 out of 5 of the parts of the archetype have a card for using monsters in the deck as Fusion Material.

The Switch game? It's just an "update" of the previous game with all the old DLC included for free and they added Master Rule 4 (Link Summoning and the new board). The story mode is just like a retelling of the anime storylines. It has online too.
Personally I think it's a waste and there are better YGO experiences for both single and multiplayer, but that's just me. The interface is really cheap though, looks like a Unity fangame or something, and it has reused assets up the ass. Absolutely not worth full price at the very least.

When you have to change the core gameplay mechanics to make a card type work you should probably slow down and think if its really a good idea. Everything up to XYZ was fine and pendulum was intrusive but not unfixable. Links are pretty much irreversible unless they just remove the concept.

How much single player content is there? I prefer Yugioh video games as a place to fuck around while collecting cards I wouldn't have otherwise over places to compete against other players.

I did play Duel Links for quite awhile, but then just stopped. Just ran an Aromage deck for awhile, and really tried to make a Cyber Angel one before it was nerfed.

You guys are shit at yugioh. I bet none of you will play against me.
