Xenoblade X port is coming for Switch. Sound mixing/ost choice for cutscenes is being mixed around, and so is NLA day theme (which seems to be a new remix of Theme X). New QOL changes, small stuff like automatically adjusting your party for affinity quests/story missions instead of asking you to do it manually. The terminal in the barracks will be filled with new challenge missions, and after completing the story, EX versions of the story missions, allowing you to replay the whole story, but scaled up to level 60. Potential has been nerfed a bit, and bosses/tyrants have a new "Awakened" buff for when you activate Overdrive. Cutscenes for Story/affinity Missions have been improved, don't expect new content or new dialogue though- it's all the same shit, just better animations, facial expressions, and camera angles. Also the lip syncing will match whatever voice track you have selected- there will be dual audio, but the only localization changes from the previous release is outfits are all reverted to their original Japanese versions, and the bust slider is back- the entire script is remaining unchanged and as is, nothing will be redubbed or re-recorded. Some menu changes are being made, including larger font sizes. Each Skell Frame has a new unique ability. One of them can half appendage HP to reduce the cooldown for arts attached to that appendage by half, for example. One of them actually gets double cooldowns. Another can do a "Burst" where the appendage of the art breaks when you use the art, the trade off being that the art does much more damage- as if it was triple cooldown. Urban has a unique trait where fighting near it in ground combat gives you a nice set of buffs, and TP and GP transfer- exiting the skell has you having as much TP as you had GP, and vice versa.

The biggest change is a new unique purchasable Skell Frame from each manufacturer when you get them to level 5, and a bunch of new Skell Weapons/Super Weapons.

Are the girls still potatoes

>the entire script is remaining unchanged and as is, nothing will be redubbed or re-recorded
Then they can fuck off because that script is LITERALLY made up and has less than 20% match rate with what's actually in the JP script.
It got completely NoA'd.

got a comprehensive list of changes for me buddy?

No, I simply know Japanese and played it with JP voices.
Almost nothing matched up.

YOu dickheads need to stop giving me hope again

I never got to play X since I never got a Wii U. I'd love if they ported it to the switch.

I don't believe it but if so thats great.

Where's this coming from, OP?

>No UH UH YEAH in NLA
Literally what is even the fucking point?

I doubt that'll change unless X gets a sequel.

the same place the earlier leak came from
his ass

It's a fantastic game. If it came to the Switch, you'd lose 180 hours of your life before you even realized it.

Great gameplay, great exploration, awesome sense of freedom. Fuck tons to do. The sidequests are great. The story is pretty bad though, and feels incomplete- not unlike phantom pain. It even leaves off on a similar level of cliffhanger/unfinished ending as MGSV.

I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be a set up for a trilogy, which would explain why the game leaves off at such a crucial and climactic moment and reveals just enough to tease the next "arc", like how Garou is teased at the end of One Punch Man season 1 when he's the main character of season 2 and 3.

fuck, i just bought this on wii u

Monolith already said they have no plans to port it over. You're safe for at least 2 years.

Xenoblade X sequel on the Switch would totally be called Xenoblade NX, seeing as how N is also always used as a variable and it references the Switch's development code name.

The story isn't bad, it's just incomplete. It's definitely not as story-heavy as other JRPGs, but it is built around fleshing out the world. It's a really good game if you're the kind of person who thrives on side content, and the world is an absolute blast to explore.

I personally wonder how a port would integrate GamePad elements because I really liked using it.

>I personally wonder how a port would integrate GamePad elements because I really liked using it.
I assume they'd only be usable in handheld mode, like the drawing feature in Smash Ultimate's stage creator.

X had objectively the best waifus in the series.

Mia is the best "Xenoblade girl whose name ends in the letter 'a'".

>The story isn't bad

Yeah, it kind of is. The world building is pretty good, but every emotional moment falls completely flat. Any part that should be exciting is dulled by poor execution. There are countless scenes where characters are talking heads with cinematography that makes the camera cuts in the Star Wars prequels look like god damn high art. In cutscenes, the music almost never matches the scene, leading to shit where loud ass rap and rock and roll pop hybrid vocals and screetching guitairs are drowning out all character dialogue in a calm ass scene where they are discussing ice cream. It is absolutely absurd how poorly done the whole story is. The plot twists have so much potential, but they have no lasting impact because none of the characters give a shit, there is no emotional value in them- you get a twist, and then next scene everyone is like "oh, it's fine, no big deal".

Not to mention a complete lack of character development, and that character relationships don't develop in any meaningful way. Even Mass Effect 3 has a better story than this, hell, I'd say even the train wreck that is andromeda is a better told story than this shit (although andromeda is much blander and less interesting.)

Xenoblade X is a perfect example of interesting, profound, great story ideas- all executed absolutely horribly in every conceivable way.

It's just that it was neat to have all that on the GamePad while exploring the world. To be fair, it's not often I was running around and messing with the GamePad simultaneously, so it could work as a menu that slides up seamlessly. I did feel like they missed out on a lot of potential by not having Arts appear on the GamePad with touch controls while in battle. The GamePad just becomes an oversized controller then. I had a similar issue with Smash 4 not doing anything neat with the GamePad, especially for menu navigation.

But where is the sauce?

It was really useful for tinkering around with probes while fast traveling, or while waiting. Inevitably, it'd have to be a separate menu in a Switch port, reducing its utility, but them's the breaks.

>but every emotional moment falls completely flat
Same is true for Xenoblade 2, yet people (and by that, I mean people who had it as their first Xenoblade game and defend it to the death to "preserve its honor") loved it. I actually burst out laughing as Fan la Norne and Vandham bit the dust, but Lao's final couple of scenes gave me at least a minor case of the feels.

No video game has ever made me feel as stunned and sad as Xenoblade X did with Hope's first affinity mission. That was beyond messed up, and is one of my favorite scenes in any video game ever.

that's great and all but can i shut the fuckin flying music up or get my jump back

>Sound mixing/ost choice for cutscenes is being mixed around
>outfits are all reverted to their original Japanese versions
>larger font sizes
Yay.

There are very few cutscenes where the music actually is too loud, and all of them are DLC character cutscenes, so not important to the story.

Also, X had a better story than 2.
>you get a twist, and then next scene everyone is like "oh, it's fine, no big deal".
Literally never happens in X.

>Complete lack of character development
Confirmed for not having played the game
>Character relationships don't develop in any meaningful way
They do more so than in 2.

>Even Mass Effect 3 has a better story than this, hell, I'd say even the train wreck that is andromeda is a better told story than this shit
Confirmed bait. Sorry for giving you the time of day.

So you're just gonna keep posting this until news sites post about it or what.

They should allow you to play whatever song in the game you want while in/near your Skell. What fucking ride has no radio?

>NLA day theme (which seems to be a new remix of Theme X
Giving false hope like this should not only be a banable offense, but illegal.

is that a gundam reference or a star wars reference

Attached: 1533421597280.jpg (1024x1003, 61K)

call me when there's a XBC1 remaster, then I'll buy a switch immediately, I've already put around 15 playthroughs into that game and I'm still totally fine with doing some more, especially with some QoL improvements.

Both. Xenoblade X references like every sci-fi story ever.

Reminder that Hope Alanzi was the best girl in X. She was sweet & lovely and only true cool kids used her all the way til the credits rolled. I like to think she and Doug married after the ending.

I completely disagree. I've been with the series since Xenoblade 1, after which I went back and played Gears on emulator, then played X on Wii U, then played 2 on Switch, and no I'm replaying X on emulator.

I love the story to 2, I even liked it more than the story in Gears. The difference in story telling is huge. You can especially see the difference in cinematography, with great, dynamic camera angles, expressive faces, visual symbolism, and powerful scene framing to express ideas and themes. But also, the characters were good, well rounded, developed, and relevant. Fan La Norne and Vandham deaths didn't really make me feel super hard, but they did get me emotionally invested and excited about the events on screen, and had me at the edge of my seat. We had a story willing to kill characters after all, Party members even, the stakes had been raised higher than Xenoblade X already. (Fan/Haze's death DID eventually make me get really feels by complete surprise on my replay after finishing Torna)

Shit that did make feels in 2:

>the entire ending sequence
>Jins death
>many of Jins scenes became much more emotionally impactful for me on replay after Torna
>Nia reveal

2 also had a lot more variety in it's story, all executed well. From the silly and fun Kamen Rider/super robot parody in Chapter 4, the team rocket esque attempts by Zeke, The serious political drama between the different world powers, the personal growth of Rex as a character- which parallels his love story with Mythra/Pyra, ect.

Tora is also the best (least annoying) Nopon in the series, and 2 also has the most fleshed out, well rounded villains in the series. Not hard to do when X had aliens that hated humans and wanted to genocide them for vague reasons, and 1 was just a fight against God (and the person trying to stop God)

>Tora is also the best (least annoying) Nopon in the series
I like 2, but Riki was far less annoying than this little cunt. After XB1, the nopon have been nothing but a mistake.

I have to applaud you for so skillfully baiting me my dude. I love X too, but it's one big failing is it's story. It would easily be my favorite in the series if it's story wasn't so fucking weak. It is the only thing holding it back from being undisputed best in the series.
