ITT: Gaming hot takes.

- The 2DS (the old one) doesn't deserve a lot of the hate it got.

- The Lego games are massively overhyped, and they're the same formula with a new IP slapped on each time.

- Super Smash Bros Melee hasn't aged well, and Smash 4 is objectively better in every way (except for Bayonetta being absolutely busted)

Who the hecc is hyping the lego games in the current year, they stopped being much good with Lego Batman 2.

>hasn't aged well
In what way? I agree it hasn't but I'm guessing we have two different ideas as to why.

People hated on the 2DS? The shape was meh, but other than that, it was fine.

People really shit on Nintendo for it, mostly because of the fact it didn't fold, but a lot of people also didn't like it because there was no 3D. Almost like there were people who wanted the latest Nintendo handheld without the gimmick or something like that, crazy right?

They pretty much just shit on it for the shape.

The graphics look horrendous, the characters are unbalanced, and the controls feel really clunky imo

The first two sure but what's wrong with the controls?

All cover-based shooters are irredeemable garbage that are impossible to salvage. The genre can not be made fun.
Uncharted, Gears of War, etc. All bad.

There should be a containment board for JRPGs.

It's hard to explain, honestly. It may have just been the controller (I don't own a GC controller so I played with a Classic Controller on the Wii) but compared to Brawl and SSB4's controls, they just feel off in a strange way.

Most of the hate on Pokemon X/Y was undeserved when you consider the fact X/Y were supposed to be "first version pairs" entries just like R/S and D/P. The fact people compared "first version pairs" entries to black/white 2 and third versions entries is fucking stupid. By themselves, X/Y also brought a bunch of new shit, changes and polish to the franchise and it really gave the franchise a breath of fresh air after Gen 5 which was essentially the same as gen 4 mechanically.

You should have been around when the first 2ds was announced on Nintendo's Youtube channel. People have been meme'ing about "2ds" and "4ds" and shit for a while, when it *actually* became a real thing people went hysterical

Extremely Hard Mode: explain your reasoning

Post a picture of yourself so we can see who is behind these claims

I absolutely loved X and Y, if OR and AS didn't exist, they'd be my favorite Pokemon games to date.

Okay. I still think it was ugly as sin and I hate how rarely I get to just go off and adventure without mediocre plot being shoved down my throat and my "friends" forcing me to do stuff with them.

I disagree on the artstyle, but I do agree on it being very linear until you beat it, which does ruin it a bit for me as well

>frogposters being retarded
nothing to see here

Its the lack of input buffer. Every game after melee has a 10 frame buffer window. Melee is precise and and snappy and feels move like a traditional fighting game.
