The deciding factor will be how long it takes to get to this point. If it's the end of the movie like they're trying to play it as, and the vast majority of time is spent on earth, yikes. I'm impressed that 90's SEGA spent effort in making a character that would appeal to kids of the time. They literally take every single pop culture element, like Mickey Mouse Gloves, Micheal Jackson eyes, a cute animal and combine them like mad scientist into a recognisable icon. They do this... And 30+ years later Hollywood makes every step in ruining the iconic look.
