That's actually probably true, except I would imagine still that it's more enjoyable to play Fallout 1 before Fallout 2. I couldn't get into 2 until 1 had sort of eased me into the mechanisms, then 2 opened up for me.

Good to know, I haven’t gotten there yet but I have the most fun playing Elder Scrolls and Fall Out backwards, you appreciate the games way more, except in the case you mentioned. If FO4 is all you know of course it will be fun, NV even more fun, and FO3 being better than 4 at least

You just walk, you see raiders, shoot and keep moving. At least in New Vegas you could role play as the faction you were playing in. Like you are part of the legion and walk the desert of the Mojave see ncr troops and gun the fuckers down because they are your enemy on a different level that isn't "they want to kill just because so I must kill them also". There are more emotions and thoughts put in New Vegas gameplay.

I seriously don't understand how people think things like F4NV or Skywind are going to be anything but unmitigated trash. It's like you take the parts that made the originals as good as they are, gut them so you can do it with the new, dumber game with better graphics, and somehow think that'll carry it. It will be trash, and it won't save F4.

I don't know why people were praising the survival mode as if it should have been the default.
It was tedious and boring.
I hated that it would waste my time if I died but sleeping never recovered the sleepiness stat.
I hated picking up garbage. All the garbage. I prefer looking for actually useful items.
Really don't know how someone could enjoy playing the game solely for the most boring parts.

What are you talking about? I had a lot of fun with it, although the Commonwealth started feeling small after I completed all the quests despite it feeling huge when I first got out of the vault.

Because they tried even less with it. Skyrim had radiant quest out the ass, but Fallout 4's quests are literally all the same with the character going from point A to B and killing everything. The game is trying to be a shooter, but it's still not a good shooter. Level scaling absolutely ruins the combat, and you'll find yourself chipping away at enemies half the time. It's an awful game.

My first rpg was morrowind on the xbox. Was the second game my brother and I got after halo. Growing up I had the nes, snes, 64 and then the ps1 and xbox. Never had a game before that allowed me to freely explore and experience its secrets.
I enjoyed exploring the world of Skyrim but was completely disappointed and bored by most of the quests. The best of skyrim is walking around listening to the ost and occasionally getting into fights.
