Look at the achievements completion rate of VC1 and wonder why no one cared about literally the same game for higher cost.

While they definitely did the right thing going for the VC1 tone gameplaywise they should of built off what VC2/3 added. Optional Coop & PVP like VC2 had but Online would of been good new attractions for starters to get people's attention.

The game are a blast, the gameplay is a lot of fun. The characters remind me of Skies of Arcadia, lots of bravery and guts. Would have been comfy to play this in winter though. All the classes matter and you can't just scout rush like before.

So VC4 also has the VC1 scout rush problem? That killed the enjoyment of the first game for me since you practically needed to do it to get high ranks on missions.

Yeah when the game isn't throwing a gimmick map at you forcing x person to stand at y place, you can just Leader Shocktrooper rush instead this time as the idea of the Command thing refreshing the units AP even being a thing surely was a good balance choice.

But why even care about that? When the game has made how lenient it is to get A ranks a thousandfold you can use engineers or whatever the fuck as often enough and still get A ranks on your first try on most maps blind.

Personally I like the concept of these games but not so much the execution of the gameplay. Why do the player characters have to have such inflated stats over the enemy? Why does the enemy never aim for the head on purpose? Why do enemy units not have potentials?

In the end after coming to grips with how to utilize everyone it just becomes a puzzle game of how fast can I fuck them in the ass instead of tactical.

Does valkyria chronicles 1 really have a scout rush problem? I guess you could send out exclusively if you just wanted to get to the end and you already knew where everything in the map was, but I feel like I'd have to make several attempts to win that way whereas I mostly 100%ed missions with a balanced party since I could kill ace enemies and tanks and stuff.

The defense boosting command makes a scout nearly immortal. Then you can rush to the end, use a grenade to blast enemies out of the cap zone, and grab the flag.

I tried this with Minerva in mission 5 once but she can somehow dodge a point blank grenade consistantly

Everyone has an Evasion stat, but if you are behind them, they won't evade.

Get creative with turning enemies around, for a simple example Sniper assisted pincer attack.

Or the brain dead solution of save scumming until it works, because I'm sure there are people out there who do this and somehow still have fun that way.
