Wii had some of the best games of its gen (not that hard imo!) and some great minority games. Great emulation repurposing later on.
It also had a shovelware:games ratio that would make the PS2 shiver, though.

Both the Wii and PS2 succeeded on the variety of good-to-great titles, and the glut of devs that made shovelware-to-okay games. Whoever meets that criteria will likely be the "winner" of a generation.

Most third-party games like No More Heroes and Madworld didn't sell well at all on it, though. A sizable portion of the people buying the console just got it for Wii Sports and never bought another game for it after that.

While the attach rate was ludicrous, No More Heroes was a smash hit by the standards of Grasshopper to the point it would mark the style of their games for 10 years straight. It sold MUCH more than, for example, the Capcom funded Killer 7.
