I have a different experience with Kickstarter. I've backed Shatae HGH and Bloodstained and Skullgirls on Indiegogo and so far every has delivered well for the ammount of cash I backed the project for (each enough to recieve the game on launch).

I feel the problem with MN9 was that Inafune didn't know how to work with his budget, that he himself was mostly an ideas guy than a developer, and that his kickstarter campaign was mostly a jab at capcom than what it was its own thing.
