Few things * 426 Shibuya Scramble is -70% off. Even if you have a passing interest in visual novels, this game is a must play. * Android Assault Cactus is getting a price increase after the sale, get it if you are interested.
>Open sales page >First 3 results are porn. >tons of porn and VNs later on, very few actual games
Japan was a mistake. 2 nukes just weren't enough.
Carter Scott
PC japan games are shit desu, the ones from the PSN golden week sale are pretty good
Daniel Smith
The zero escape games are much cheaper than they were when they launched, and on sale now. I really liked 999, are the rest worth it?
Bentley Diaz
Nier automata or Odom sphere (ps4)?
Ayden Smith
Don't go for Berserk, Attack on Titan is the only non-Warrior game that's decent. Samurai Warriors 4-II is decent too, but I've heard musou fans liking the original SW4 more. Not exactly the same thing, but Katamari Damacy is a great podcast game.
Anthony King
Recommendation: the legend of heroes series very solid, also crow is best boy
cool, I'll try them out. I guess 999 alone is worth the current price anyway.
Noah Parker
Reminder to pirate singleplayer games to make sure you actually like them, and then decide if it's worth spending the asking price on. Don't be a blind consumer who buys 10 games every sale and then doesn't play them.
Any good multiplayer games to buy? Everything else I'm probably gonna pirate.
Zachary Ortiz
Okami, Disgaea 5, Ikaruga or A Hat In Time (not specifically this sale I know but w/e)?
Christopher Williams
Yeah, it's a fantastic little series
Aiden Wood
I pulled the trigger on Ys VIII what am i in for?
Ryder Collins
Hat in Time is better on PC because its actually getting updates and DLC, also damn good mod support. Okami sounds better if you never played it, unless you like going through a painful and boring grind in any of the Disgaea games.
Did this on hollow knight, resident evil 2 and specially sekiro. I've finished the entirety of sekiro before buying it on steam, it was a pain in the ass to transfer the save data on that game tho
Nier Automata is a better game imo. Odin Sphere has amazing gameplay, but you're essentially doing the same shit on all 5 playthroughs (I realize the irony here but Nier:A actually has less repetition). I mostly enjoyed my time with it but Mercedes' arc in particular is a slog. Also Odin Sphere, while having great lore, isn't so compelling when it comes to character and dialogue.
Nicholas Wilson
are any of these any good?
NARUTO SHIPPUDEN: Ultimate Ninja STORM TrilogyAKIBA'S TRIP: Undead & Undressed Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars Odin Sphere Leifthrasir Muramasa Rebirth Genroku Legends Collection, i already have muramasa
i really need more reasons to revive my vita and some user told me ninja storm 4 is the best one in te series and i should maybe buy all teh games.
Is shadow tactics as basass as it looks? Also thinking of getting secret of mana remake or romancing saga
Ryan Rodriguez
i got the senran kagura rhythm spinoff and i'm really liking it. i haven't actually played any other games in the series. what would be my next best bet?
Joshua Thomas
You sure user? Story of EoZ looks garbage but I really want to finish the story.
Jose Ward
Yeah it's great. It has a demo or you can just pirate it to try.
I'll never understand why people even tell newcomers to play 1&2. It's terrible and terribly unsastisfying.
Lincoln Thompson
lmaoooo this sale all weebshit tho????
Jose Cook
It was preddy good real-time stealth squad. it makes you git gud. also it has a tanuki, look at that tanuki rolling around holy shit that's cute. it's also not on sale atm because it's not a japanese game. the same devs have Desperados 3 coming out sometime or another this year it still doesn't have a release date, sad.
Anthony Young
Are any of these any good? >OneShot >1bitHeart >Pharaoh Rebirth >Kero Blaster >Sora >Graze Counter >Rosenkruezstilette
Ian Gray
Which one should I play first?
Adam Johnson
Any thoughts on Nights of Azure? It's bundled with Atelier Sophie which I bought by itself a few years ago, so I can get Nights for $17 this sale. I'm somewhat interested in the game but the review score is putting me off a little.
There is nothing fundamentally wrong with Nights of Azure. It's Yuribait with solid hacking and slashing, story makes no fucking sense and if you want to do everything playing the game twice is nearly mandatory which was probably done because the content isn't that much. That being said I belong to the few people who thought two was better than one.
Parker Myers
>Rosenkruezstilette I would only recommend if you're a classic Mega Man nut (1-6 specifically). But if that's your thing it's a no brainer.
bottom 3 are worth way more than five bux each, i say go for those. i never played the top 2 so i with hold my opinion, but the bottom 3 are pretty much must plays for weebs that enjoy good games
>Let me waste my time by posting in this thread dedicated to the Golden Week sales, even though I don't watch anime nor I play JRPG. Damn, you are so cool user!
Aaron Roberts
dumb underagefag
Alexander Bell
cope
Carter Parker
Binary Domain is currently just under 4 bucks. If you like third person shooters and being able to shoot bits off robots it's pretty damn good.
GE plays fine solo, you can fit the whole squad with highly customizable AI's. It's solid, eventually challenging grindan. Ressurection is the better part of the package thanks to Predator styles and superior teen drama.
>Ressurection is the better part of the package thanks to Predator styles and superior teen drama. I just realized that it also includes an updated version of the first game too. I'm gonna give it a try then.
Is there anything for sale with good online multiplayer? I'm probably going to pick up Soul Calibur VI but I think I already have all the other Fightans that are on sale.
Evan Perry
I wish catherine was on ps4
James Richardson
As someone who played four of those five games, I chose Catherine.
Levi Kelly
Killer7 and EDF are the obvious picks. Katamari isn't hard to emulate and Catherine has better versions on other platforms.
Julian Fisher
its alright if you're into difficult rouge-likes. the hunger mechanic is kinda annoying, but its still pretty fun. Better uses for your money are out there though
Binary Domain is fucking garbage. Fuck off with this retarded meme.
Colton King
no u
Christian Fisher
It's pretty decent as far as Advance Wars clones go.
David Robinson
I bough MonHun World, Secret of Mana, Chrono Trigger, and Ni no Kuni 2. I hope NnK2 expert mode is somewhat challenging so I don't lose interest and drop it
Zachary Hughes
It's no masterpiece but I had fun with it, and for four bucks it's a steal.
Blake Parker
It's a robbery at 1 dollar. It's just completely shit, and more than the money it's just not worth anyone's time.
Jacob Brooks
>Ni no Kuni 2 If you played Ni no Kuni 1 be prepared to be incredibly disappointed. I really wanted to like 2 but the game is just not that good.
Brandon Sanchez
I didn't play the first one, I'm just a sucker for environments/world design and games that just look charming
Thomas Murphy
oath, viii is broken
Landon Gray
oath
Owen Rodriguez
RE5 will give you a couple of jolly campaign runs and plenty of fun in coop mercenaries mode.
Nathan Peterson
>great spectacle >rich campaign >aggressive playstyle encouraged by partner bonding and supported by headshot mechanic what's not to like my dude
>great spectacle >rich campaign These claims ar ejust buzzwords and don't even deserve a reply. You sound like fucking IGN.
>aggressive playstyle encouraged by partner bonding and supported by headshot mechanic It's a generic as fuck cover-based shooter, you inbred mongoloid. Don't pretend it's anything more than that.
Josiah Perry
Should I get Dragon Quest XI?
Kayden James
if i thought the monster collecting was the best part of ni no kuni should i buy ni no kuni 2
Evan Davis
Only if you don't mind not having access to turn order and % to hit/inflict with anything.
Joshua Hill
End of Zoe is one of the most fun and unique parts of RE7.
Adam Sanchez
It's generic as fuck. The only saving grace was the body parts blowing up and kinda cool party talking system
Aaron Robinson
oy vey
Kayden Ross
Get Late[st], thats the most current version of Under Night In-Birth
Kevin Reed
No. nnk2 is ni no kuni in name and graphical style. That's about it. Story is only very very loosely related, characters are all different, combat is WAY different.
Christopher Sanders
You barely need to use cover, regardless of difficulty level. Robots start shooting allies when beheaded, drawing all enemy fire in turn. Keep popping heads, and you can stay in the open indefinitely. Rushing the enemy and using their damage output against them is not only efficient and thrilling, but gets you cheers from your buddies, and eventually changes the ending. If that's generic, I'd like to to see more.
Carson Campbell
From a fellow 90's kid, I recommend the Spellforce bundle if you're into RPG/RTS, but I believe RPG/JRPG fans will like it more. They aged like wine and run in any toster, but Spellforce III is truly mesmerizing to watch at max settings.
Did they add Japanese voices to ZoE? Last time I had to refund because nip voices ar eonly for the nip version you buy through the nip steam store.
Elijah Young
I'd have a little more fun if my headset microphone wasn't so inherently quiet that it literally cannot put up or correctly interpret 95% of what I say.
Jason Sanchez
Is it all weebshit? And is it even worth buying anything now when the summer sale is around the corner?
>Darius Burst is over $20 even with the sale is it even worth it when I can get like 3-4 other good shmups with that price?
Jackson Peterson
Dark souls 2 aint worth it
Dylan Garcia
remove dark souls 2
Jonathan Lewis
I'll say you'll get more playtime out of DS3, if it's possible get the deluxe edition But at the same time you could play custom maps for Hat kid's game ad infinitum
Caleb Murphy
Eh, I played SOFS on the Xbone and it wasn’t too bad. Decent 7 at most, Sir Alonne fight is top tier.
William Martinez
Just watching gameplay footage of this, it seems like a bunch of copy-pasted assets and not much thought put into the game, except for having a bunch of bosses. I would just play Darius Gaiden instead.
Jose Richardson
I haven't palyed Ace Combat before, but 7's on sale. Is it a good place to start? Also, Recettear's like $5 if any of you somehow haven't played that.
And yet you have to enable viewing porn games for them to even show up
Nathan Russell
It's not a terrible place, but isn't the best introduction to the world. It's an excellent game, though. If you don't mind emulating, the PS2 holy trinity is where to go. 4, 5, and 0.
Jordan Nelson
How is Astebreed and Akiba's Trip
Adam Nelson
Akiba's Trip is pretty funny
Tyler Robinson
I just saw that. how is it
Carter Harris
Its good. If you like dungeon crawlers, give it a shot. Again, I have it on Vita, and its a pretty solid game.
Jack Lee
I've gone and updated my list of games I'd like (or possibly would like.)
what should I keep on and what should I drop?
Adam Myers
I started with 7 and really liked it MISSILE MISSILE MISSILE
Astebreed sets a new benchmark in shmup presentation. The gameplay is fine and there's nothing wrong with it exactly, but due to the lifebar system and how strong your melee is, I feel like it rewards sloppy play. I would place it below classics like Ikaruga, Mushihimesama, and Eschatos which are also available on Steam.
Jose Perry
Thanks. Looks like I'm flying planes tonight.
Carson Wilson
>umineko still not on sale
Jace Murphy
I played Steins;Gate and Chaos;Child recently, and picked up Steins;Gate 0 in the sale. Is there anything else I might like that's similar?
Also, might as well ask while I'm on the subject - are the fansubs for the rest of the Science Adventure series? I'd imagine at least some of them would have translations but I'm new to this sort of thing and would have no idea where to look.
Asher Diaz
Borderlands 1-2 is usually on sale all the time by 50-90%, dying light is trash.
Carson Rivera
>Muramasa Rebirth Genroku Legends Collection, i already have muramasa I plan on getting the full game but I usually see people get the dlc and not complain about it after. another user on the previous thread said the DLC was worth it
Carter Diaz
Have you even looked at steam? It's very much on sale.
>Got Coma:Mortuary I'm not that good with horror games, but I'll give it a try. Thanks.
Jeremiah Butler
Darks souls 2 is worth it for that price. Helps you appreciate the other souls games more and while flawed, is still solid. Play 3 first though
Carson Hernandez
Dying Light is great, kill yourself
Xavier Green
Got Heroic Dungeon. Looks like a decent match 3 game. Thanks.
Noah Hernandez
>all were activated well i tried.
Carson Lopez
You're welcome!
Ethan Davis
>Danganronpa Trilogy If you like games similar to Phoenix Wright with mechanics similar to Persona on friendship. It's a great series play it for 3 hours and you will be hooked. Also note the Spin off while short is fun and is not that hard as others make it out to be. >Melty Blood Actress Again Current Code If you like Fate series or even have a liking to Guilty Gear and Arksys this game is similar to those tastes and is a very simple yet complex game to play. >Nier Automata YorHA edition A phenomenal game that even if you do not like ARPG's it is a simple pick up and play. Just a reminder to beat the game 3 times. >Katamari Damacy A fun game that plays better than descriptions give it credit for. Rolling things into a ball may sound boring but when you play it. You become entertained by all the naunces of the game itself. I would highly recommend this weird game to anyone as its a cheap but highly overlooked game from the early 00's. >FF XV While the release on consoles was disappointing the PC release was not. It includes Royals expansion, all the DLC episodes except the final one with Ardyn. Basically 25$ for nearly the whole game it has 4k support and it runs at a smooth 60fps with mod support/Steam Workshop. Give it a try. Honorable mentions: Steins;Gate, Chaos;Head, Grisaia series, Funbag Fantasy, Kara No Shojo
You know what, drop your steam ID and a game you want under $5 and I will get it for you
Zachary Roberts
What's the best fighting game that's on sale that isn't dead right now? Preferably something less than $15
Luis Bell
Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2, its on life support but people still play it and there was quite a few lobbies today. Use "Player Match" the "lobby" is a big 99 player thing that sucks shit as you can't see ping or spectate so no one uses it
Daniel Rogers
Fighting casual here, should I get melty blood or Under Night Late? All I know is that they both have quality music and waifus
Samuel Baker
I'd go for Melty. Under Night is great but there's already a more updated version available. Melty is as complete as it's going to get.
Dylan Wood
All fighting games are dead, but play Unielst.
Chase Lee
The version of melty people actually play isn't the Steam one. Under Night Late[st] is your best bet out of the 2 as a new player
Nolan Edwards
The Ace Combat series is gargage; don't bother with it.
Tyler White
Steins;Gate is under £10, it's a steal at that price. Way better than Danganronpa.
Christian Cook
Is there no danganronpa pack?
Brandon Young
No matter how much you want another Souls-like, do not buy this game unless you like - No lore - No atmosphere - Diablo loot - Single self-contained levels - No single interconnected world - No invasion-system PvP - No fashion
It has nothing of the things that people liked about Dark Souls; don't listen to the memes.
That's what I thought. Seeing footage with all of those copy pasted brown corridors and muddy villages put me off.
Gavin Williams
How does it compare to DT2? That's my golden standard for dungeon crawlers
Thomas Long
All of Nioh's levels are either japanese castles or Japanese villages with no variation between them. Same with enemies: for the entirety of the game you're going to fight human warriors, skeletons and Oni, with the rare Tengu and wheel monk here and there.
The game has a mixed rate for a reason. In fact you can argue that it is a worse game than Lords of the Fallen and The Surge.
Joshua Wright
All that is true, but its still a pretty good game and imho it has a far, far better combat system than any of the souls games. When everything clicks between the ki pulses, weapon skills, comboing and stances, then the whole game gets really damn fun.
Daniel Gomez
>, but its still a pretty good game No it isn't. All the negatives outweigh the few, if any, positives.
>it has a far, far better combat system than any of the souls games False; it had some potential to be a good game but the Diablo loot, dependence on builds and how sometimes forces you to abuse Sloth ruins it.
Stop tricking people into playing that piece of shit.
Kayden Peterson
It's got super good combat and the stage design isn't bad. The problem is people were too thirsty for another souls clone when it came out when it does its own thing.
Joseph Parker
thinking of getting rollercoaster tycoon. which of the 3 should I get? Do they have sandbox modes?
Evan Sanchez
This is another game that you need to avoid, no matter how much the rabid fanbase tries to convince you to buy it.
If you're expecting a realistic or semirealistic flight simulator, you're going to be disappointed when you find that the game is pretty much a third person / first person shooter where you move 360° and where a plane can carry 60-90 missiles. After suffering through a bunch of boring anime-like cutscenes between missions, you get to play the game, which boils down to: >Move towards green dots. >Choose the green dot you want to destroy by pressing Triangle / Y >Wait until the green dot turns red >Press Circle / B >Repeat until yo destroy all the green dots / destroy enough green dots to get the score needed to finish the mission / destroy all the green dots marked on red in your map. Sometimes the game shows cutscenes in the middle of the mission but it's just a fancy way to start the next green dot destroying session.
It even had an overwhelmingly negative score on Steam due to not having basic flight stick support (even when it doesn't really need it) but the fanboys turned the tide.
>No it isn't. All the negatives outweigh the few, if any, positives.
Apart from the loot system, none of the things you listed effect the actual functional mechanics of how the game plays. The combat system in Nioh is superb. and the gameplay and systems easily sustain it through multiple playthroughs.
>False; it had some potential to be a good game but the Diablo loot, dependence on builds and how sometimes forces you to abuse Sloth ruins it. The sloth abuse was patched out shortly after the game launched. I've beaten every single mission in the game and never used the sloth spell once. Loot and builds are important, especially in later NG+ but you can finish the game without spending any real effort on those systems; just upgrade your gear every few missions and you'll keep up with the enemy strength.
Sebastian Fisher
I don't know what the fuck you were expecting when it's the 7th entry in a series that has had similar gameplay nearly the entire time besides the universally-loathed westernized spinoff game. I don't even play the AC series but when I see posts like yours bitching about how it's more of an arcade style game than a flight sim, well, sorry to tell you but the series was literally born in the arcades and has been that way eternally.
Know what the fuck you're getting instead of bitching that it wasn't what you wanted.
>Game has always been a console title so no one on the PC landscape knows about it >Suddenly its latest iteration gets ported to PC >It looks like a certain kind of game and the marketing doesn't disprove it or explain what kind of game is >You get to play it and you find it's an almost insulting simplistic game compared to the genre it looks like Ace Combat is just a dishonest series.
Parker Campbell
That's called "research the series instead of buying it more blindly than the fanboys do".
If you ask about Ace Combat, its fans only repeat "it's a good plane game" ad nauseum. You have certain expectations when you hear those two words together.
William James
Thank god you didn't buy cold steel. If you do, be on the lookout to refund it. I played for about 10 hours and the writing was consistently shallow and tropey the entire time.
Owen Hernandez
3's not horrible if theres character customization for them. If not then I guess i'll pass. DT2 had 5 character parties with like 10 characters to build and 5 final jobs per character. so good
user, I don't think you realize the problem here. Besides the fact that asking fanboys is always a recipe for problems considering what you may like or dislike can differ from what they're willing to gobble down, we're in an age of fucking Youtube and Google. You don't need to wait for a delivery bird to see your friend in New York call you a faggot anymore, you can literally look up Ace Combat gameplay, see reviews, see the legacy, and even emulate past games in the series personally. You have a thousand and one steps to be able to take on your own accord, and you're just circling the argument of "fuck the fanboys, everyone's misleading you into thinking it's a flight sim".
You have no one to blame but yourself.
Gabriel Fisher
Oh, really? Maybe I couldn't hear it all over the >"YOU BUDDY STILL ALIVE?" yelling
Nolan Nguyen
nioh depend on taste, but general opinion is "it's shit because it's not a Soul game" and now let's get to the funny part >ACE Combat litteraly sim faggots crying because it's not a simulator and because their over priced stick doesn't work with it, otherwise a good game, again, not a fucking simulator
Justin Diaz
>It looks like a certain kind of game and the marketing doesn't disprove it or explain what kind of game is Did the space elevator and planes with railguns and lasers strapped on them not clue you in?
Bentley Thomas
>can't find Lolipop Chainsaw or Shadows of the Damned on sale >check their store page >disc only FUCK
