Has nothing to do with western laws at all. The ESRB is not a government body. In any case, simulated gambling is allowed in T-rated games, which is what XIV is.

The reason it's an issue is because XIV's rating doesn't state that it contains simulated gambling, and it has to do that for it to comply with the ratings boards. They can't change the classification mid-expansion, so they can't add any simulated gambling part way through. Mahjong only gets a pass because unlike most casino games it doesn't involve betting, but even then they can't award you any kind of in-game currency based on your performance.

Even though it's MCH I suspect there will be people who say I made it worse than it already is. My concept is that it's based on managing heat (not wanting to constantly overheat, in fact overheating should be bad), and you switch between wanting to keep heat either under 50 or over 50 every minute, but because of other actions which affect heat you can't approach both phases in the same exact way. I also wanted to make its base weaponskill rotation more fun and less frustrating.

I can't think of a way to incorporate Edgar's tools in a way that would fit properly and actually be fun, I'm kind of curious to see what it's like in Shadowbringers. You don't want to have to be constantly running into melee as a ranged job.

I'm not really fond of the way turrets work on MCH either, they are super boring and add effectively nothing to the job (that couldn't be done just by adjusting the MCH themselves). But I can't think of a way to make them interesting.

Very important aspects of the store are contained in optional content, like side quests, locked treasure chests, pages long text based short stories, not spoken by a character or anything just text on a black fucking screen, and random, incoherent, barely moving cutscenes of awful, 2D art. Most of which is locked behind the same, goddamn quests, with the same goddman enemies, but with more HP or more of them. Using the same goddamn mechanics you've had since the first half of the game. Mechanics, be it the combat or the hacking, do not greatly vary as the game progresses. The chip system was kind of neat but again feels shallow, like a lot of the game designs. I mean, there are a set number of hacking minigames. At a certain point, you start replaying them. Just like the fucking enemies in regular combat mode.

These patterns persist all across nier because it was a cheaply funded game that needed to justify its $60 price tag in the era of Open World memery. All that's in it could've been condensed into a 10 hour VN.

A selfish ranged DPS without cast times just seems like it'd be way too easy if it could perform on the same level as SAM and BLM. I'm fine with MCH being the highest personal DPS of the physical ranged jobs, but there's no reason it can't have a little utility even if it's not as good as BRD.

But personally I'm not really concerned with how jobs will be received by metafags who desperately try to figure out how/if each job fits into a group. Just making a job fun to play is enough for me. Once you've got the basic gameplay down then adjusting numbers is easy.

Tips depend on the gamemode. In feast you want to use doton to choke off points with the slow effect. In Frontlines you want to sneak behind the enemy lines with hide and take control of points while the enemy is busy or distract them so your team can move in and punish their stragglers. Hyoton is also great for stopping runners in their tracks to gank them or escape from them.

Rival Wings is more interesting than Frontlines. Frontlines has too much RNG except for maybe Seal Rock.

I've only tried Hidden Gorge but the problem I see with it is that the way it's designed it's very easy for matches to snowball. If you can push your opponent back to their towers and get them on the defensive, you've basically already won because controlling the rest of the map means you have free access to all the train deliveries, the goblin mercs, and the ceruleum spawns.

But generally in Feast/Frontlines you never fight head on by yourself, your goal is to distract your opponents into making mistakes with their movement and then your team punishes them for being out of lin. For example, in Frontlines you want to get behind the enemy lines so they see you and chase after you, this usually separates the enemy team which gives a good chance for your team to move in and take advantage of their displacement whether it's straggler DPS that die fast or rooting healers so you or someone else can LB them in peace.

You can't deny many quests were just roll roll roll roll roll roll to destination and roll roll ...(you get the hang) back. Like Replicant.

If you are fine with what WoW became, and are fine with how it was at its 'best' in that form, then this game is exactly that but better in nearly every way.

Duty Finder is generally silent aside from an initial greeting and farewell (if you even get that), it's very rare that you get any real interaction from it. The time limits are one of the things that annoys me most about the deep dungeons. The enemies become health sponges and so you are forced to rush every floor, you can't play carefully which inevitably raises your chances of getting fucked over. If they want to have DPS checks put them on individual enemies not the entire instance timer. Time limit should be twice as long.

It was our first run, so we didn't really knew what we were doing. We pretty much agreed at the end that it was the best experience we ever had in ffxiv.
Later runs weren't that exciting because we knew all the shit.

It's still good at various points unless you absolutely love doing palace over and over. The xp gains are similar and you get gear which may be of use to you in roulettes, which palace doesn't supply. Above 60 the value goes away.

The "difficult" part of deep dungeon is not getting assraped by RNG.

The user telling you they're useless is a retard, they used to be bugged and you could absolutely melt dungeons, now they take about as long as a normal dungeon run but without the queue and the ai is still better than half the playerbase if you know how to use the commands right

Not have it fucking boot you from the game the instant there's any kind of lag spike because the game thinks you might be POS hacking. Also, have d/cs in there not fucking end the run but log you out after 30 seconds like normal to re-enter where you were at as long as you didn't die.

what's the best damage meter?

As long as you're not an idiot, all the 'rng' in there is controllable through how you move through the rooms and manage pulls, especially in a group of 4 where the wriggle room for a full wipe is extremely large.

Roegs are too brick-like(i.e. shapeless) imo. I'm hoping there'll be some spillover to the hrothgar who ironically seem to have slightly more realistic proportions

ACT is the only damage reading tool. If you mean overlay then it's purely subjective. I personally use rainbowmage because it's simple and lightweight
