I have a Vive and I don't plan on buying the whole thing at once, I'm going to get the controllers first since they work with my V1 Base stations.

Only the new hardware works with the V2 base Stations, but Everything else works backwards with the old stations.
Once I do a complete swap I'll give my old set to my younger brother to use and we can play each other in VR.

The motion sickness problem is fixed by playing lots of VR games. After a while your brain adapts and doesn't make you wanna puke. So most VR players use joystick walking and are fine. The teleport everywhere is good for demos though.

You have a screen and a lens, so you tend to see a grid like effect because you can see the individual pixels.
But unless you're looking for it, you will ignore it in actual gaming sessions.
It's not a big problem and it will fade anyway as screen resolutions becomes higher.

If you've ever used windows or google, your eyes are the least of your worries.

High resolution is over rated, SDE and color depth is more important. I was considering Pimax 8k before this but I think the software support will be superior on INDEX. Also because I have nothing left since returning my rift buying INDEX package is a no brainer for me. I understand if people with vive pro and pimax 8k only want the controllers.

FOV and high refresh rate + the superior lenses will make it so good that you won't notice.
The screen door effect will be reduced by the optics.
Truly higher resolution would require some intense hardware and is probably a Gen 3 thing.

Probably, you just need to adjust your graphic settings accordingly. I used my rift with gtx 780 with no problems. Sucked that it didn't support SLI.
If you wan't to run with full HZ you probably need to tone down some of the more demanding graphical settings.
