How do I get into Homestuck? I tried to watch the webcomic thing but there was so much shit going on (yet not anything relevant at all) in the spawn of minutes that I gave up.

Read Jailbreak, it's short and kind of dull but sets up jokes. Then read Bard Quest for the same reason. Both are important since they get referenced often. Then read Problem Sleuth, it also starts out a little slow but picks up quickly and goes off the rails in the best way. Then you'll be prepared to handle Homestuck. Trust me, Problem Sleuth is worth reading first.

Problem Sleuth includes both Jailbreak and Bard Quest as jokes/part of its universe, and also gets you familiar with Hussie's writing style, being at first simple text adventure commands before spiraling off into nutty crazy fantasy. Homestuck operates the same way, with Act 1 being very slow due to reader-submitted commands and its text adventure nature, then it picks up steam once the fantasy elements roll in, with lots of references to the previous stories. Problem Sleuth is worth it just on its own anyway, but this is to just get you familiar with how these stories work.
You can just read Homestuck on your own, but you said you gave up because nothing important was happening, and this is why.

at first I thought bards quest, jailbreak and problem sleuth were actually apart of homestuck because they're included on one of the pages and I read them because of that
once I got to problem sleuth I realized that wasn't the case because of how long it was but I couldn't stop reading it because I loved it instantly
so yeah problem sleuth is perfect for getting into homestuck and if you don't like it mspa probably isn't for you
