How do you get more coppers without paying in this game? The daily quest gives like 2k and playing in silver+ rooms nets you 1k if you come first and lose coins if you come in 3-4th. Is that it or am I missing something?

How to be a massive retard 101

why can you see their hands
are you cheating

Calm down Tejo.

yeah im helping user cheat

It's Washizu mode user, you don't have it enabled?

It's a replay you dummy.

Wait a second... In this game dealer does not get 2x for win 2x for loosing??

When does the game allows the option to Riichi? Sometimes I only require one more tile to win but it doesn't let me do it.

Is your hand closed? You can't riichi an open hand.

Keep a closed hand.

>have to verify code every time I log in
Am I missing something?

since when is that a thing

A completely closed hand or a partially closed one?

Isn't that a rule?

>get full suited straight built early
>extra set built
>waiting on last pair
>discard last tile because probability
>next draw would have been the pair
>this happened twice that game
fuck off

hit remember me the next time you login

There is no such thing as partially closed hand. If you have a closed kan I think you can still riichi.

It's not 2x, but dealer gets more for winning and if someone else wins via tsumo the dealer pays more than the other two. The dealer doesn't pay more if he gets ronned.

>bronze
>everyone plays east
>silver
>close to 50/50 east/south

Now we are talking. South gives more exp and shit I suppose right?

no
dealer has some extra rules but theres no 2x for winning or losing, that was probably just a house rule whenever you played

Learn

completely closed, the only exception is when you kan off a tile that you just drew

south games are longer, so theyre more down to skill than hitting a single lucky hand

>the only exception is when you kan off a tile that you just drew
I don't know what you're talking about, that has nothing to do with riichi

Oh, I see. Wierd.

What's the point in playing if you don't know the people you're playing with. You may as well just play against the computer.

You can riichi after you do a closed kan, you can also do a closed kan after you riichi

if you draw a tile and you already have 3 of the same tile in your hand, you can do a closed kan and still be able to riichi

The computer doesn't furiten in a single tile wait like a retard so you can spam Superb! at the idiot.

oh I'm retarded and thought you were talking about rinshan kaihou, carry on

So in terms of progressing the ranks it is the same shit? I'd expect it to give double the amount of EXP considering the gachashit type of game it is.

>You can riichi after you do a closed kan, you can also do a closed kan after you riichi
If it doesn't change your wait.

its double the xp but also 4x the rounds, so technically less xp/h unless youre good

nvm im a huge retard and thought it was four wind and not two wind
yeah its double the xp and probably better xp if youre good at it

How do I unlock the sex scenes?

I'm sure that happens sometimes, but I can't imagine many people who don't know about furiten want to play riichi mahjong online. Playing a game you don't know the rules to seems like a bad idea.

These threads are at least 50% people going "why can't I win?!". Don't underestimate the number of people who've watched Akagi or played Yakuza but never delved deeper into it than that.

not really since you can basically do whatever you want after getting them

So if I want to riichi, I should just forgo all pons and chis and try to form a yaku with only draws?

sure
specially if you are in the lead/dealer and just try to close out the game fast and cockblocking other from their big hand

riichi is a yaku itself so it's worth going riichi only if you already have the doras

That's the only way you can riichi so yeah
Closed hand + riichi should be your default, don't call unless you have a plan

Furiten is newbie's problem. Try to plan your hand a bit and cut the rest aside. Don't just mindlessly discard tiles. Ideally you should always aim for mangan or close to that. Sometimes it's wise to fold if someone declares riichi and you 2+ shanten or generic trash hand, you don't have to win every round.

They are dora tiles, they give you 1 han each. (han = points)

if you have a dragon pair there is never a reason (within the round) to not pon the third dragon right away and go for a fast hand.

Of course there are times when you can't afford to play a fast hand.

What's the difference between south and East? Is south just longer?

I don't know, it happened to someone a few threads ago.
Thank you

South is longer and your skill will actually be tested. consistency > luck (unless the luck is Baiman level).

Any virtual youtubers playing this shit? The only ones I found either play with friends or AI

Only one player can win each hand, user. If multiple players are waiting on the same tile then usually the rule is that when that tile is dealt then the next player in the turn order gets the priority on declaring the win and the other players don't get anything.

Dunno about this game though, there's other rulesets you can use.

Double and triple rons are a thing for like 40 years. Head bumping is old stuff.

Double ron is staple rule in online mahjong

Whats this free sex button? Riichi? I just got an option to initiate a draw but why would I do that when I'm 9/13 tiles to yakuman

9 tiles for kokushi is worse than you think

You must suck their dicks. And whoever lasted longer without ejaculating wins the points.

>virtual
meh. I saw some hot blooded lads on twitch but the schedules are inconsistent

F'real? That's weird.

I saw a person trying to fish out a win from the dead wall and aborting his 8 dora hand by making the 5th kan.

Yeah I ended up shaping the hand into a only terminals/honours hand in the end

It happens more often than you think.
Sankantsu and Ryanpeiko are rarer than Yakuman.

It's an option for a reason user.

Nagashi Mangan is easier to do than Kokushi

2 side wait for 2/2 possible tiles
OR
closed wait for 4 possible tiles

this better not be some bullshit yakuman

Attached: sssss.png (378x792, 317K)

Well if you don't see any red dragons it might be daisangen

when do I get to fuck the cat

I will always choose closed over shanpon

max your bond level and make sure to chiipon everything

No because people would just call your whatever tile to fuck over your budding nagashit.

2 side wait because it has a better chance of forming into another shape if you can't get the tiles you need

Average player won't call so early and by the time you reach mid-game, most yakuhai would already be discarded and there's no chance to call anymore.

>under 30k

I played mahjong for years and I'm just sick of it, i have no idea how I put up with it for so long. It's exciting to go through the learning process (like with anything) and getting rare yakus and your first yakuman or whatever but the main deciding factor past beating abolute beginners is just luck. I've beaten pro players over multiple hanchan in 7447 and been absolutely dumpstered by people who don't know all the yaku. I've played thousands of games and it's just going through the motions, there's nothing interesting about going betaori for the fifth hand in a row. Mahjong is depression incarnate and I don't know how to keep going.

Why do you hide names?

>pro players
>7447

I do a lot of breaks between hanchans and do something else. This is the kind of game where you should always stay focused and have a good mood.

Fun stuff.

It's common courtesy to do so.

Also I think it was because people would tag pictures with someone using loli porn background from tenhou to their twitter handles and stuff.

>he didn't hear the tiles

流れを感じる!

Your failed quints try to say your doing something wrong. It's a board game, play IRL. The aesthetic of the tiles, the artwork on them, the sound of them shuffling, throwing the riichi stick - this is why people play, the feeling of a real tile. Buy a set, a junkmat and teach your family.

Not an option unless you're asian.

1. nobody knows how to play
2. different levels
3. you need to actually memorize the score system
4. mahjong table isn't cheap
5. takes 2x more time at the very least
6. nobody wants to play it, not even most of weebs

I know it's probably good to feel the tiles and all that stuff but eh, internet mahjong works too.

Nine's not a great start.

But he had a great start with almost all yakuhai gathered (the riskiest to gather because 1 opponent Pon will fuck you up)

It doesn't really make a difference. With kokushi you need to draw it all yourself. If someone else has the dragons and they pon them (or even if they don't pon), you're that much less likely to draw them anyway.

Even if you are an introverted poorfag like any other here to be a charismatic founder of a shiny new thing there are people who could be interested and autistic enough to bother - MTG fags, go/shogi fags, you just need to find them. Also most big cities have riichi clubs worldwide are you really sure there's nothing going in your place already? Even somebody in the sticks like finns have theirs complete with irl tourneys and shit, like, come the fuck on.

D-Do you want to play together a-user kun...?

mahjongsoul.game.yo-star.com/?room=15885

Get in here you little fag.

Like I promised, dumping score autism

Here's how the scoring chart works in Riichi Mahjong

When you win, you look at your hand, and award points, called "Fu". It starts with
20 - For winning
+ 2 - Tsumo
+10 - Closed Ron

Then you look at your wait:
+ 2 - Anything except an open wait (You have two consecutive tiles waiting for a tile on either side, like a 34 waiting on a 2 or 5)

Then your pair:
+ 2 - If the pair had value (what they mean by this is if you had a third tile, would you have a yaku? If yes, you have a value pair)

Finally, look at your sets:
+ 2 Pon of simple tiles (2-8)
+ 4 Pon of Terminal/Word tiles
+ 8 Kan of simple tiles
+16 Kan of Terminal/Word tiles
x2 bonus per set if you did not steal any of it, not even for ron.

Add ALL of that shit up, then round up to the next 10.

Then you double that shit for every single han you have. Then the Japanese double it twice more for literally no reason, and those are your Base Points. For you math nerds, that looks like this:
Base Point = Fu x 2^(han + 2)

Everyone then pays you the BP rounded up to the next hundred. East pays and receives twice the BP before rounding. If someone has ron'd, the person who discarded bears the burden of every single player at the table.

EXAMPLE: 40 fu, 2 han = 640 BP.

Winner of the round is a Non-Dealer. The dealer pays 640x2 which is 1280, then rounded up, making it 1300. The other players pay 640 rounded up, making it 700.

BONUS ROUND: Honba (round continuation)
For every round that East wins, he stays east, and a marker is placed on the table. For every marker, each player adds in an additional 100 points to their score. This is included in the payment for the player ron'd.

Example from above, but there are two honba: Everyone pays an additional 200, or the ron'd player pays 600 extra.

This is also how Pinfu works. Pinfu means "No points", so it's 20 points, + win condition, and then all runs with an open wait and valueless pair

gg anons
I was lucky as hell, despite dealing in multiple times

g-guys imagine if we played maajan together and the third and fourth place w-would have to suck off the w-winners haha w-wouldn't that be funny haha

>fat smelly user acts like a stuttering anime girl
Consider mending your ways, heathen.

Attached: 1547637006497.jpg (700x711, 126K)

Sorry, I only just started reading the thread: Dealer technically does get x2 as much and pays x2 as much, but most of this fact is hidden by the ridiculous shit Japanese Riichi adds in, and because most victories, especially at low levels, will be Ron. The actual amount looks more a little closer to x1.5 because of it. See my autism post above.

I'll never be able to count any score below mangan. ancient japanese and chinese people must've been super smart or something to be able to do all that clusterfuck counting immediately after winning.

So you dont earn anything playing in Bronze right? In the next levels do you actually start earning coins/premium/gifts so that you can get more stuff?

That being said I want to stay in bronze as long as I can to learn the basics and not lose anything.

I knew it! I am not crazy!

Attached: 1556572195961.png (546x1080, 245K)

make room pls

If that's your takeaway from my post, that's fine by me. You're either the stutterer or someone who would defend that behavior, so I'm not inclined to you seriously.

FU-

At silver you gain points that unlock silver chests depending on your placement. Silver chests contain gifts and spheres. Gifts can be donated for some dust. With enough dust, you can do one pull.
So yeah some day you might get something from playing in silver. But you better not stay there.

Spoilers: They don't. Because the math formula works out to always be the same each time, they just do what Asians do best: Make a chart and memorize it.

The limit hands themselves also have a ridiculous set of rules in Japanese as well. Basically, once the base points are 2000, you stop counting Fu and just reset it to the "limit", which is Mangan. Everything after that is literally just an adjustment to the limit. In Chinese, they just have the single limit, but they also don't randomly add in two doubles per hand like Japan does to inflate their scores.

You need to balance your concealed/opened game. Both have great uses in their own ways but getting it right needs practice. Rule of thumb is not opening for cheap and slow hands.

you need riichi hype music to drop from an event or whale out. Meanwhile it's free on Hangame Tengokuhai or Sega MJ

Since nobody adequately answered this, it depends on the table who gets the Riichi stick, but the general rule is that they go to the player that comes sequentially closest to the player that discarded the winning tile.

So if South discards, and East and North both ron off of it, it would go to East in this case.

Again, depends on the rule. Sometimes they actually cash out those 1000 point sticks to 500 points and split it. Not sure what Mahjong Soul does.

On that note

It increases your Fu, but that doesn't matter if your hand is Mangan+ anyway.

Cool yakus
Virtual waifus

can anyone answer?

All of that meta shit is literally just meta shit to use against other pro players. Against beginners, the best strategy is always hyper-speed and efficiency. Betaori only becomes actually useful when all players are efficient, making them more predictable.

That round was a pure test of patience.
I was in tenpai almost every round but I'd sit there and wait while some other fag got lucky.
Evem threw away my chance to get a Chanta just so I'd win a hand for once.
That last hand was pretty cool though, not even mad.

Thank you for your hard work

It is though. It's incredibly similar to footsies in a fighting game. They're REALLY effective against high level players, because you might make them whiff an attack that you just step away from so you can dash in and punish them, but against newbies who are just pressing buttons, they're not going to know the range of their attacks so they don't even know you're dancing outside of the range of your roundhouse. It's always best to just rush in between attacks and whoop their ass like papa should have.

Betaori is useful for riichi, but when you're playing against a bunch of scrubs that don't know their yaku from their furiten, you should just rush in and whoop their ass with efficiency. You shouldn't worry about meta and mind games until you get higher ranked.

Honestly, are you supposed to be able to read that North is a dangerous tile here? It just looks like a can't be helped mistake to me.

I see, thanks for the answer user!

Anyone?

Yes, it's really fucking obvious.

It's the end of the game and there's only 1 north on the table

because they kan'd the south, pon'd the east and pon'd the white

How are we supposed to get waifus in this? Theres like 5 currencies.
I can keep the two defaults but it'd be better if everyone got a welfare roll.

He has nothing called except for word tiles, and there's only one north on the table meaning it can still make a set. ESPECIALLY auspicious with the other winds. Even with the west on the table, he should have known the player was likely hoarding them at some point.

Why would you ever want to kan anything? How do you win if you have 4 of the same, doesn't it disrupt the rules of 3 melds + pair? If you have a kan, you can't make 2 plus melds and a pair.

What am I missing?

Oh Mahjong, I can't wait to play some puzzles with this when it comes to Android.

gg guys, that game took a little longer than I thought so I can't play anymore.

IRL mahjong question: what's the timespan that you're allowed to declare chi/pon/kan/ron?

You kan and draw a replacement

it acts as a 3off, gives you an extra draw and gives everyone an extra dora + uradora chance

>9 doras
>ruins it with 1-2-3
Catgirls...

Attached: epic bronze gameplay.jpg (526x966, 73K)

Closed kan is useful since you get an extra draw instantly, and a lucrative dora chance if you're not going for an open wait.
Also, Saki memes.
But yeah, playing with scrubs and chinamen makes me not want to open kan ever.

2/4 now

user pls
you are VERY OBVIOUSLY afraid of honroto here and that would save your ass even if that's a wrong suggestion.

How do I earn Jade in this game? I want to play as the biker chick

you only need 1 yaku if you already have 9 doras anyway

You have to answer the three great riddles
-Your CC number
-The expiration date
-And the 3 wacky numbers in the back

He better has a yakuhai in his hand, otherwise I see a wasted hand there.

Based and monetized

Oh ok thanks, I'm an extreme noob and I didn't realise you get a replacement, so basically it acts as a meld and you can still complete the other requirements for a hand as normal but it's worth more points, and you can keep it somehow concealed (don't understand yet how).

Fuck is that shit all translated? I've been following the artist on Twitter for my daily dose of schizophrenia.

I see people complaining about this all the time, but literally what the fuck is wrong with it? As long as you win why does it matter? Should you really be aiming for fancy shit just to appeal to your autismo or something? I don't get it.

In a real game, what if you closed kan but its a bluff and fuck up the game? Do you have to show it first then turn it over?

But if you draw the 4th one yourself, do you get a replacement as normal? So everyone will know you kan'd but they won't actually know which tile?

Good luck winning with 1k point hands.

Because you can win 4 straight hands, take up half a game, and drop to 4th place instantly from playing into any somewhat decent hand. It's annoying and doesn't do anything.

Does anyone actually find this more fun than Tenhou? It's so much slower and the pictures of anime girls don't really add that much. Maybe there would be incentive if you didn't have to put 2000 hours to get one pull but who would actually spend money on this?

Doesn't matter if you win 7 rounds worth 7000p total only to get smoked by a single Mangan in the last round.
It is a long-term investment to at least build something worth more than fucking Tenpai

I don't see what's so annyoing about it. If I see the chance to win even if it's 1000 I take it, it's much better than not winning at all.

Nobody retard

It can be a good move when you're far ahead of second place and trying to finish the game or take a dealer seat from second place. Usually it's a bad move. You only have so many attempts at good hands. One mangan is far easier to get than eight wins with 1000 points.

A lot of the time you are just losing more.
If you are 8k behind a 1k non-dealer win simply means you have one less round to get a comeback hand.

If you are ahead then it's obviously good, nothing feels better than rushing 2-3 rounds one by one with trash 1 han hands while in 1st place.

>If I see the chance to win even if it's 1000 I take it, it's much better than not winning at all.
It's not about just ending the hand and taking away what you can, it's immediately going for small value hands at the start of every hand for the sole purpose of winning as fast as you can.

>I don't see what's so annyoing about it. If I see the chance to win even if it's 1000 I take it, it's much better than not winning at all.
No it's not. You sacrifice all defense for a tiny bit of points. Super high risk and low reward tactic.

Attached: 123921389239.jpg (1280x720, 432K)

>Didn't get a new quest for copper
what did they mean by this

Yes, provided you can build something, which is mostly up to luck. Most of the time you will not get shit and you are lucky to get even a fucking tenpai. But seeing these threads, it somehow suggests that you shouldn't be aiming to win the round at all if that's the best I can do, which is retarded.

You can strike lucky with the extra dora or you can just award the guy ronning your ass extra dora.

You know what's better than winning 1000 points?
Not losing 8000 points

I'm starting to get it, thanks anons.

If you're playing with scrubs you have to adjust your playstyle to match that.
Scrubs can go for first, stupid hands because they play with other scrubs who don't bail, make dumb discards that feed into other hands.
If can't adapt your playstyle to counter those who you are playing with, then you're a garbage player yourself

So you really gotta know your hand compositions fast, how do people practice that? I mean, you really need to be fast to analyze your waits at that point, don't you?

Much better plays today, fucking A. If I have to give you fuckers one advice, is to not obsess over tanyao and call very rarely (unless you have a sure yaku to waste).

Attached: flying washizu.png (437x237, 135K)

#75489
come play

two more needed

you have enough time between your draws to think about hand composition while other players discard their tiles

one more needed

that's not true everytime, some players tend to draw almost instantly after last discard, in this case it's perfectly fine to declare pon/kan and ask them to return tile in the wall

For me, I find it takes me a while. Is there a good way to practice? Just deal out hands and practice identifying the waits?

euophrys.itch.io/mahjong-efficiency-trainer

Kon-nya~

Does this game have a good tutorial? I've never been able to wrap my head around Mahjong, but I've always wanted to learn, and any game I've tried has had awful tutorials.(in that they're just a text dump of the rules)

Attached: trick.png (894x513, 454K)

Why do chinese players always go for 1-2k hands

mahjongsoul.game.yo-star.com/?room=98675

From what I can tell a simple tutorial won't make you properly understand. It's just too much to grasp all at once.
Just try to get the very basics, learn an easy hand or two and then go for that not matter what.
Thinking you have a ready hand and are gonna win once you draw that last tile and then drawing it and being confused why you didn't win is part of the beginner experience.

Attached: Akagi - 06 (1).jpg (720x480, 44K)

15+20 seconds is too fast for me. is learning with the ai the best way to play?

Attached: 1553887587253.jpg (640x618, 31K)

because you're playing in east only and everyone is trying to grind as quickly as possible so they can get to the money grinding ranks

You can barely even see her big fat boobs. It's not fair.

I'm gonna take user's post and try to make a lesson about mahjong using and .

You see the guy has 3 open honors, that alone is bounds for a good hand as it has seat wind, dragon and a bunch of yada yada fu points, so probably around 8000 points since the guy is the dealer.

BUT, that is just if the hand is shit, that hand can be extremely scary since it can be a honroutou (2 han more for a 12k hand) or even a tsuuiisou (Yakuman), which means you're fucked anyways. (Can't be Shouusushi - all winds)

Now compare that to the hand the guy has, it's pure trash, lishanten (1 away from tenpai) on a hand that is not going to go anywhere and with 4-5 draws left for what is essentially a concealed shitty tanyao.

For those 4000 points (And you can even say he's just going to look for a quick hand to end in tenpai and not lose 1000 points at the end of the round.) you dealt into an obvious Haneman. The other 2 players did the obvious thing and folded from long ago. In those situations all you can do is betaori (discarding safe tiles) and pray he doesn't Tsumo.

Then you have the complete opposite of this in , dealer has an obvious chanta (terminals or honors in all sets) and he's on a single tile wait, meaning his wair is likelky a wind, dragon or 1/9 of any set. The South here is a dangerous tile and all the other players recognised it and incorporated that into their hands regardless of how good they were by breaking their tenpais.

So remember, Mahjong is not about wining, it's about NOT LOSING, this game isn't for fun, this game is for feeling miserable and pathetic and fear everything, as you progress trough the ranks the game will keep getting more and more boring as you do betaori over betaori in hopes that maybe one day you will get some mangan or if you're lucky someone drunk will deal into your Haneman, but that's it.

This game is not fun, if you're here for fun, fuck off, if you're here for waifus, fuck off too.

I don't get it.
Wouldn't he have won is someone discarded a 5?
And considering so many 3, 4 and 6 were already gone isn't that a good wait?

Garter belt is love, garter belt is life.

Totally yes, he could even have like a 4-5-6-7 of any set (wait of 4-7 while being the lowest point hand with those calls) and that would still make his hand scary as fuck to not deal into, but the most likely here is that he's on either a 7-8-9 or 1-2-3 + an honour as those are the yakus you aim for when you make a hand like that.

Note that likewise you look for yakus when you build your hand, they do the same as well, so their end waits are constructed around what they have been doing previously to tenpai.

You need to read on what he could potentially have, this is why as you progress further everyone just nopes the fuck out of everything as soon as anybody riichies, everyone is scared as fuck and plays like a bitch.

It's late and there's only one North dealt, so you should assume that someone has a pair of Norths.
The 5 of sou is also easy to read, notice that east discarded the 3, the 4 and the 6 of sou.
Discarding both 3 and 4 in succession is fairly quick succession is a tell that either the 2 or the 5 are in the hand as a pair. Admittedly not as firm as the 5, but you should be aware to not deal it.

Is anyone else getting frequent disconnects?

>being forced to discard hatsu that late
>especially when dealer called riichi
You could have gotten fucking murdered, be glad losing your chiitoi was the worst that happened to you.

It's really unfair pairing people against absolute beginners, all of my games have been like this and looking through logs about a third of people don't know about yaku.

you just discard whatever you draw, you're badically just milling through tiles until you ron or tsumo

So in an East only game, what are the conditions to proceed to South round, and how long does it last?

When nobody is above 30k points, and ends when someone goes above 30k points.

Depends on the rules, normally it's when no player has more than 30k points at the end of e4. It immediately ends when someone gains over 30k points. Games usually play one more wind then whoever has the most points wins if it's still not more than 30k.

fuck defensecucks

Any chance you can learn mahjong just by playing it?

FUCK YOU SPEEDLUCXK

>censoring people's names
lmao
yeah, but remember YAKU and don't pon/chi unless you're 100% sure of what you're doing.

when is the mobile app? my laptop is FUMING playing this game.

>all last goes to furiten payments
>"ok, I'll just win the next hand"
>game ends
fuck

Yes but no matter how you slice it there's required reading at some point

So nobody knows?

Look at that fuck Green Doragon. That's actually a crow holding a katana. So it's not just "gg" but "gg nothing personnel"

I personally think it's better to learn as you play, you need to get a feel of things on the field to digest what you read.

I just dropped from 2nd to 3rd solely from the guy up 1st winning 1k hands and eating my riichi sticks

almost as if chiiponning hard beats your riichinigger style.

>Everyone playing east only
better rank up asap

You can learn yakus that way, but strategy is hard to learn just by playing. In luck based games you might think you made a mistake when you made the logical play.
