its one of the few games left that don't keep a carrot on a stick in front of you and is confident in its own merits of pvp entertainment. I've never played a game with pvp experiences as varied as I have this game. Almost every time I play, I do something story worthy.

Not 10 years ago we had counter strike, tf2, and halo that you could easily spend 100s of hours into without needing shit to help you thrash scrubs easier.

No it's not, look at Destiny's Crucible. You can get destroyed by some faggot who grinded out an easy Epic gun who isn't actually gud, Sea of Thieves however requires you to git gud to earn their shit, their cosmetics are prestigious.

The game is only fun as a gang of 4 of your friends as Murderhobos and Ocean Hitlers. I had a lot of fun kidnapping gamer girls and forcing them to eat 99 bananas at gunpoint, or backstabbing people at the end of Skeleton Forts, or swimming 2 miles in shark infested waters to deliver a bomb to another ship.

The problem is, having fun and being nice, wont lead to progress. If you want to make progress, you have to be evil. Having fun and making friends is a waste of time

i got it through that $1 game pass promo MS did a while ago and its def at least worth that. i think the voyages are repetitive and lacking in some areas but honestly just sailing with 2-3 friends and staring at the games fucking beautiful visuals has been enough to keep me into it despite all that

Yes especially after tomorrow. The stuff on insider was super fun, arena is great if you don't have a few hours to play, and the new story voyages are what they have needed from the start.

Plus fishing is super comfy.

If you require skinner box treadmills you are a zoomer. Games didn't used to have to condition you to play, you just played it because it was fun. I sunk probably 300+ hours on Jedi Knight just dueling people and fucking around, without any carrot on a stick motivation. Learn to actually enjoy games instead of falling for the carrots.

Jedi Knight is a good game though, this isn't.

This is a game where you sit around staring at water for 60 minutes until finally something happens, and then there's no point to it and it doesn't matter at all and it's over in 1 second.

thisHonestly i think the arena is going to take awhile to get balanced right, but atleast now theres an easy way to do the ship combat.

what do we even know about the arena? Honestly having a more compact competitive experience from time to time sounds nice. Dont get me wrong i like the base game but i feel like its more a kick back and chill kinda game until something happens.
