How does lighting work in underground Dwemer cities? I know they have steam machines as generators and they have lights on the walls, but do they have electricity or the lights somehow operate with steam?

Magnetite was known since the beginning of time, in fact some good quality steel was made refining iron from magnetite ore.
Iron exist in TES universe, so I assume magnetite should exist as well.
Also I think it was hinted that the dwemer used electricity, I can't remember where I've read it tho.
